Because of an obvious note that there’s a 50/50 chance we’ll see something go down at a place that was of semi-relevance already in Season 1?

Yep. My feet are still tired from having pegged Trader Aerin as a Person of Interest when the teaser was released last week.
Not that his behavior was terribly subtle, either, but we’re all entitled to have fun with this game in our own way. 
Now, here’s the thing. Minutes before the update dropped yesterday, my guild leader noticed that an Anet employee (I believe the guy is a play tester) was visiting Kessex Hills. As this was not the map everyone else was parking their characters in, he wondered right away what our Anet friend was doing there. He said, “There must be something new there too.”
You know that ArenaNet plays the game too, right? Maybe that employee was just doing PS in the area, or felt like mapping that map, or some other such stuff.
Because the soonest something will happen there… is in 2 weeks.
Yes, that crossed my mind. In fact, until the corporal sent her off I’d shrugged it off as exactly that. Then I thought, “Wait…isn’t that in Kessex? Hmm…”
Not saying it’s anything tremendously important; as you said, we’ll know in a couple of weeks. But if it is something, I plan to jump into this thread again and do the “I told you so” dance. 
I’m saying nothing is happening as of yet. I’m just pointing out an area those of us interested in the story might want to keep an eye on. 
Wanted to get the ball rolling on this, even though there’s nothing in game yet to support it other than one short conversation between NPC’s. Mild spoilers ahead if you haven’t yet played through the new content.
Marjory is reunited with her sister Belinda once more as we arrive in the new area. Belinda excitedly plans to tag along with us as we investigate the happenings in Dry Top, but her superior officer (Corporal somebody) has other ideas. He sends Belinda packing off to Fort Salma in Kessex Hills, and she dejectedly follows orders.

However, there doesn’t seem to be anything new at Fort Salma, at least not yet. I’ve checked it out both before and after completing the new story, and Belinda hasn’t gotten there yet. She’s also no longer at the Seraph camp in Brisban, so she must be en route.
So keep your eyes peeled in these regions, friends. There may be a clue or two along the way indicating how the story will progress.

Anybody else who suspected Aerin want to join me in doing the “I told you so” dance?
I don’t want them to disappear—I enjoy them—but I think the lesson has been learned. I’ve only done a couple of the story instances so far, but I find their interaction to be a lot more mature and “realistic” if that doesn’t sound insane when discussing a fantasy game.
After all, c’mon. If things ever get too syrupy, there’s Taimi to smack some sense into everybody!
Was Jeremy Soule’s stuff not live orchestra? That’s surprising if so. Either way, the teaser for S2 sounded awesome!
I don’t think so, but after hearing that I am really stoked for tomorrow. Music is a big part of the reason I fall in love with a game.
We’re gonna all be bouncing up and down like a bunch of skritt in a hall of mirrors by this time tomorrow, aren’t we?

That’s odd. I didn’t hear the words “Glint” or “Mursaat” in either clip. I think your imagining things.
No, he’s not. The words are not spoken audibly, but posted below the sound clips. I got excited when I saw them, but I think that’s just people posting to that page and engaging in our favorite activity: wild speculation!
I think so too…either the Inquest (Braham walloping in Inquest golem), or the bandits (the highly suspicious NPC Carden dresses a lot like a bandit), or even the Nightmare Court (Trader Aerin, I’m looking at you!).
The whole thing stinks of Sinister Triad, and I’m now going to do the same silly thing I did on Reddit and shout, “Detective Hats confirmed!”
Hmm, Rox would make more sense. Charr probably aren’t too fond of Asuran “googlymoogly” or whatever was said there.
Going with Sylvari idea a little bit. There was a merchant who got to go along with the Zepherites who was very exited to get on board. His goods could have been source of explosives.
This. I’m practically dancing up and down like Aerin himself here reading through this thread: “Why are they so worried about Kiel and Gnashblade when we’ve got a Sylvari running around who’s acting really weird, even for a Sylvari?”
Trader Aerin is told that he must leave his possessions behind on the docks when the journey begins, but the Sanctum is still docked when he’s racing all over the place. He’s not carrying anything I can see, but who knows what he’s up to?
If we’re drawing up a suspect list, I’d like to remind everyone that there is a Sylvari dashing about on the Sanctum right now, very eager to travel with them, and babbling that it’s the beginning of “great things” for him.
We also have a shady NPC named Carden, who keeps trying to sell…something…and failing because whatever it is alarms his would-be customers (“I know where you got that, and I don’t want any trouble with those people!”).
I’m still trying to determine whether these two had such dialogue during the original Bazaar, or if it was added this year. But certainly it’s interesting.
Dunno if I’m supposed to refer directly to this, so I won’t post any links. However, there will be goggles and scarves (appropriate for desert environments).

If we don’t have imperiled zones, where is the tension (and therefore the story) supposed to come from?
Looking at the trailer again, I don’t see anything to suggest the Sanctum was being fired upon. It almost looks like those were bombs going off. To me, that certainly suggests the work of bandits.
Also, Braham is surely taking a whack at an Inquest golem there.
I see no direct reference to the Nightmare Court, but there is a rather strange Sylvari running about the Sanctum as we speak, yammering about “helping”. I’ve been suspicious of him from the get-go.
Now, where did we hear of these three groups again?

I would rather see Anet’s time, work, and resources go into further developing the actual lore of the gameworld, but that’s just me.

Aerin is talking to someone: himself. He even lampshades this by saying he’ll have to stop talking aloud to himself (“I may be a stranger but that doesn’t mean I have to be strange”).
I think everyone here has talked aloud to himself at one time or another. If you say otherwise then I don’t believe you.
I often play as a mesmer; how would you know what to believe and what not to believe?
Of course we all talk to ourselves. Didn’t Gandalf say that it was a habit of the old, they chose the wisest person present to converse with?
I’m more bewildered by Trader Aerin, who spends a rather large amount of time dashing about talking out loud to…nobody.
At least Taimi and Trader Owens are directing their dialogue at somebody, even if the somebodies cannot respond. It’s really no different than my attempts to befriend the skittish stray cat who hangs around my porch.

Finally she growled at them: “I SAVED YOU! I SAVED THIS CITY, AND ALL YOUR WORTHLESS LIVES! I SHOULD HAVE LET SCARLET KILL YOU ALL!”
She then started shouting about demanding a trial by combat, and I had to get her out of there. It was getting embarrassing.

My warrior favors a longbow, so I’ll just assume that spent arrows are easy to find.
I wasn’t sure, so I turned down all other game sounds and went to a quiet part of the city. Makes me excited for other “undocumented” changes that may have been introduced. I was too tired last night to do much exploring, but I hope to make up for it today!
Someone’s been tweaking this beautiful, piece, I see. Now it has a much fuller, more orchestrated sound.
And let’s not even get started on the projectiles favored by mesmers…I file the whole thing under “suspension of disbelief”.
This might be yet another case of me not noticing something that’s been in the game since day one, but I’ll post it anyway.
While wandering the depths of Rata Sum the other evening, I ran across a barely noticeable electronic percussion track playing near some NPC’s. These would be Krewe Leader Jerr “The Golem” and several other Asura /cheering him. He’s quite close to the Apprentice Waypoint, and you’ll only hear the music if you get next to his platform or right up on it with him and his friends.
I know these things are never accidental, so I assume there’s a story behind this. Google has not been helpful in this case, however. So I’m asking: what have we got here, an Asuran aerobics class?
Is this the same conversation where Marjory explains to Taimi what a “toast” is? I overheard that one last night, and laughed out loud at Taimi’s assertion that she “doesn’t have a fop to quote”.
Great idea, except last night in the pavilions I was in the issue was somebody taking out Kuraii too quickly. They may have been deliberately trying to troll the event.
We could also try, “Hey, the Battle Historian is at the waypoint and he’s got the Mistforged skins available!!!”
Taimi has the best lines.

Well, ok THEN, I guess that’s just YOUR opinion. You have an AWFULLY strange WAY of EXPRESSING it. Evening the FIELD just seems FAIR to ME.

Let’s look carefully around in the gameworld in the coming weeks. Given Anet’s history of “dropping hints” in game, we may see some indicators of what’s to come.
Then we can come here, tinfoil hats at the ready, and speculate!
