Guardians of the Vault [GotV] and Guíld of Dívíne Soldíers [GoDS]

Halloween’s over, Anet…stop scaring people!
Starting point would look something like this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vhAQRAse8cnsIC9ph9fCmfCUrhFVjiMAGhirOZn2qFtLSjsD-TRRBABXt/o8DP9DA8EAoU9HzUCSKA9kaB-e
Domination can trade Blurred Signets and Mental Anguish for Furious Interruption and Power Block if you’re against mobs that are easily interrupted or have skills that you want to shut down.
For Reflect heavy fights where mimicking/rifting Feedback doesn’t cut it (like Uncategorised Fractal) you’ll want to bring something like: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vhAQRAse8dnsIC9ph9fCuqBUrhFVj68JGijgMAGhirOZn2qF-TRRBABXt/o8DP9BA8EAoU9HzUCSKgR1ZB-e
Now with this build you’re looking to maximize your Critical Strikes. So if you’re lacking Precision you can swap Improved Alacrity for Danger Time, run with Accuracy Sigils, or you may need to have a set of Assassin’s gear on hand. Granted Revenants are bringing perma-Fury, and Rangers/Druids are being more common in groups. Thus, Precision is easier to get a hold of as well.
Sweet! Exactly what I was looking for.
I might try experimenting with your second build. One thing I’ve noticed is that my beloved Feedback bubble is probably going to have to be semi-retired, at least while in the jungle…the HoT mobs seem to be smart enough to move out of it.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that I’m equipping my scepter more there. For some reason the “mushroom” mobs will fixate almost exclusively on clones during a fight.
Also, all of the legends are “ancient” beings, and Eir really is not.
Now, somebody that might qualify for what you’re suggesting, longbow and all? Pyre Fierceshot.
He’d be an inspiration to charr revenants everywhere.
Even Rytlock himself says, “No risk, no reward.”
And he’s wearing a blindfold these days.
That whole sequence was interesting on a number of levels. At least one other NC member was there along with Faolain, and we wonder why Mordremoth is taking so many of the Court. Faolain sneers, “You know nothing of the Court” then goes on to liken service to Mordy to serving the Dream.
Well, Mordy showed her, didn’t he?
And Garm. Even Braham, in his grief, noted the wolf’s absence. Where’s he gotten to?
Some of my guildmates say this has actually been in the game for a long time…since the new LA was unveiled, in fact. Another redditor states that there was even a post about it, but was disregarded because it was assumed to be someone’s mini at the time.
We’ll see.
As a Redditor has pointed out, the bank in LA seems to have acquired a weird green glow. There’s a particularly bright spot noticeable if you stand on the side closest to the waypoint, but if you stand back you’ll see that the entire vault is glowing green.
You remember the vault, don’t you? When LA was wrecked and we tried to approach it, the guards would kick us back. Sorta makes me wonder, now; at the time I assumed they didn’t want us digging around for lost gold.
Anyway, we’re a few days away from both Halloween and the official beginning of our fight against Mordremoth. And something really weird seems to be transpiring at the bank. It bears watching; I’ve attached a screenie for your perusal.
I already know what to expect on launch day. This:
When everybody tries to log into the game at once.
Now, as much as I love the game, I have no intention of getting up at 3 AM my time to take part in the festivities. Hopefully the growing pains will have subsided by the time I get settled in to play on Friday.
Does anyone know what time skill updates like these are usually released?
I’m East Coast time, it tends to drop around midday here.
I wonder how many people are going to be totally blindsided by this. Not everybody was watching/attending TwitchCon, ya know. Unless they heard it from their guilds (as I did) or are following the forums/Reddit, they may be in for a rude awakening.
For my part…meh, I just use my ele to traipse around after the world boss train anyway, I’ll slot something else and move on. Not gonna worry about doing major changes to any character’s build this close to the expansion.
Why is Rytlock wielding a dagger as a 2hander?
Rytlock is the Chuck Norris of GW2. He can wield whatever he likes, however he likes.
Truth be told, I had dismissed the idea of a legendary as a “not very important” goal.
Then, after guild missions a couple of months ago, I tossed some random yellows into the Mystic Toilet and was shocked to the core of my being when Zommoros rewarded me with Dusk.
Well, I took that as a sign from the RNG gods, so I went to work. My charrior was indignant when I took her Zoija’s Claymore away and gave it to the mesmer, but I handed her Dusk and told her if she worked very, very hard she could have one of the most awesome-looking weapons in the game. So she’s been doing map completion, PvP matches, crafting ingots until she’s cross-eyed, and getting help from my other characters (the mesmer’s been a regular in the Silverwastes, the thief has been making daily ori runs in Frostgorge and Cursed Shore, and the ele has been following the world boss train around). It’s a slow process if you don’t want to bankrupt yourself, but it’s doable.
The key, I’ve found, is patience.

It’s okay, Gaile, we still love ya.
I’m not sure why this event is giving the devs such fits…remember Scarlet’s invasions? That was a much larger, more complex event and more widespread in the gameworld, and I don’t recall such problems.
Maybe, in the future, just have loot drop off the enemies rather than this reward system? That seems to have been the problem here.

Thought of this the other day…
…then tried to picture my little asuran mesmer screaming through the woods on a vine, and couldn’t stop giggling!
Oh, definitely looking forward to testing out Daredevil. And I really didn’t give Revenant enough attention last time out, so I’ll correct that this weekend.
I’m just sad that we won’t have access to guild chat again. It would be nice to compare notes with my guildies while testing, but there’s always TS for that.
…the Fourth Doctor was out for a walk, and all of a sudden he encountered…Mickey Mouse.
The asura might want to check the filters on their warp gates. Looks like they might be opening up into other places besides Tyria.
People, he’s had a name for decades…millennia, even…
Cthulhu.
My asuran mesmer does it too. I’ve actually gotten so accustomed to hearing it I change her behavior (where applicable) so she gets the maximum benefit from the boon in question.
Because the latest meme generator caught my eye on Facebook, and my engineer just can’t resist getting into the act.
Ohhhh, I’d forgotten that, good call!
It occurred to me this morning as I was filling my hummingbird feeder that good old Ulgoth, he of the best trash talk in the game, calls me and everybody else who challenges him a “hummingbird”.
When was the last time you saw a hummingbird in the game?
Yeah, me neither.
What does the Ulgoth know that we don’t?
It was happening to me last night in the same map, a Teq map that started filling early as they tend to do. It’s not game-breaking by any means, but annoying hero panel bug is annoying.
I was the charrdian who accused you of being a dev in disguise who stuck the chickens in the game, then sat there laughing at the people trying to kill them.
It’s funny. Been playing since beta and I had no idea these things were there. You learn something new every day.
I’m pretty sure RP’ers already manage all of the above, as others have said. And now there’s a pretty little island for those who wish to use it for that purpose, while others can use it however they like or not at all. The choice is up to the players, as it should be.
For my part, I’d rather see Anet’s time and resources go toward fixing the current content and preparing more, not catering to the demands of the various social crusaders.
I have seen them too, in frostgorge sound.
So have I, while mapping the area on my guard. I nearly posted here about it, but then thought “Maybe the Shiverpeaks night sky was always like that.”
Having seen this thread, now I’ll be looking more closely.
So when is the next scheduled release?
One hopes today or tomorrow. Otherwise there will be quite a few angry folks here on the forums over the holiday weekend.
On a lighter note, Miss Gaile, are they looking into “Feel My Belch”? Having a tremendous BUUURRRP rip through the air during a crucial fight is a little startling, even for a charrdian.
A guildmate and I have decided that Zommoros is actually the Wizard.
Wish I knew, and had noted the name of the player talking about it. I didn’t start to consider it seriously until many hours later.
I have yet to hear any kind of NPC conversation near it, though my engineer did discover that if she used Jump Shot to enter and landed perfectly, she’d be tossed up and down indefinitely instead of getting thrown right out.
So that’s progress of a sort. The thing now is to corner Josh, Peter, or Rubi to find out why they were teasing the Wizard’s Tower during the PoI. Bribery with cookies might be necessary before it’s all said and done.
(edited by Tanith.5264)
Bumping this thread rather than creating another, since Josh saw fit to tease “the floating castle we’re not allowed to talk about” on Friday’s PoI.
I also want to point out that I spotted a conversation in game Saturday speculating that the newly redesigned Mystic Toilet (which you can now dive into and get kicked out of) is actually a portal to to the tower, and that conversation between the nearby NPC’s backs this up. It’s got me curious enough to start an experiment on my own; I’ll post anything interesting I discover.
Sort of like clicking on the cows in the original Diablo game in search of the “Secret Cow Level”. At least the graphics are better.
He’s already here:
You win. You win everything.
lol, ty. I made that character about a year ago. I was inspired by my guildmate, who is the spitting image of Optimus Prime. When Anet released that scarf, I squeeeeeed with delight!
He’s already here:
I’ve been seeing that guild’s tag around for a looooooong time, probably since launch, so they didn’t just pop up overnight in response to current events. They don’t bother anybody.
And I had my say on this subject back when the whole Marjory/Kasmeer debate was raging so I’m just gonna stop right there. We’re gamers, let’s go have fun together.
My guard’s actually belching and shouting “Feel my wrath” (in a not-terribly-wrathful voice, I might add) simultaneously.
Also, I hear the “belch” from other players, because a few of us were standing around testing “Feel My Belch” after last night’s patch to see if it’s still there. Funny!
….Is anyone else belching every time they use the new shout?
Edit: After doing some testing with my friends and my other guardian characters, it seems like I’m only hearing a belch noise every time I use this shout on my Charr Guardian.
It sounds just like the sound from belcher’s bluff. o_O
Yup. It looks to be an awesome skill, but I’m not gonna be able to use it without giggling. I’m sure it’s a bug.
Guildmates are reporting that the Curse of Fireheart Rise has now spread to the Silverwastes. Sending my warrior to investigate.
How odd that this has cropped up. They haven’t even patched the game for the last few days, have they? What could be so different about Fireheart that would trigger all this?
Can also confirm. My guildies were talking about it and I headed off to see for myself. Ran all the way across the zone without seeing a single NPC or mob (at times with my guild leader defending me because he could see them), dove into water to see what that would do. Nothing, still had my greatsword equipped and no weapon skills assigned. Invisible vistas. Somehow I didn’t die at all, but it was very strange seeing NO other life in the zone whatsoever.
I blame the Flame Legion.
Well, the OP asked a question. Some of us answered.
Simple as that.
Such people are why the world is in such a pitiful state. You gotta fight the good fight tooth and nail, but nobody except the minority will do it.
GW2 is entertainment, my friend. A form I’m happy to support in my small way, in return for many, many hours of fun with good friends. But how I or others support it (or choose not to) is not the “good fight” by any stretch of the imagination, in my eyes. No more than the lunatics who spend tons of dough for Super Bowl tickets.
The real good fight is the one you fight in your head, everywhere, every day.
I’m happy, yeah. Bought the standard edition because that’s all my budget will allow, but it was more or less what I was expecting to have to pay.
Now, about that release date…
It’s a fansite…an established and well-respected one. I wish someone from Anet would clear the air on this, because if the “patch notes” turn out to be bogus it’ll hurt their reputation and GuildMag’s as well.
So very sorry for your loss, OP and guild. As many of us have realized, guilds can become extensions of our families, and losing a member of that family hurts beyond the ability of words to express.
I see Miss Gaile has already weighed in on your request, so hopefully something can be worked out. I hope so.
I’ve been keeping myself entertained pretty well by working on world completion for all of my characters. I use a RNG site to choose which map to “work” next.
Also, it helps to have imaginative guildmates. Last night we had a lot of fun with an improvised “hide and seek” game, in which the “hider” offered prizes to whoever found him first. So you can make your own fun.
Just throwing it out there.
Also, tempting though it may be, don’t respond to these messages in any way other than to report them. Someone on reddit did so last week in a fit of sarcasm, and the scammer reacted by hacking his/her account.
Just report, and let Anet do their job. They’ll get ’em.
Haven’t spotted him, Evon, Kiel, or Magnus yet. It sort of makes me wonder what they’re all doing.
Somebody stole Aslan…where is the outcry?
I think it was a good idea to get the beta access and I will try again for the next because everyone who is actually playing the game got a chance to get beta access. If you didn’t get it but you did at least try it, you got at least some materials, gold and karma. I also didn’t get any beta access yet but I know there will be more betas coming and if I dont get inside any beta, HoT will come out anyways.
and btw do we already know when the portal stops to drop? They mentioned it could drop longer than a week if they didn’t reach the target yet:
“All events and creature drops in this area now have a small chance to drop a Portal to the Heart of Maguuma item that will qualify the player’s account for an upcoming Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns™ closed beta test. These drops will continue for a week or longer to collect a strong player base for the test.”
I’d like to know this as well.
Just a thought, anyone here who has received the Chest and have the beta portal item?
I have a funny feeling that if you were in the last stress test you cant get the portal….
Not sure, but I’m also wondering if the portal stone has dropped for anyone since these chests began appearing today. I didn’t think my mesmer’s extended stay in the Silverwastes was over until tomorrow…
Maybe it is some weird bug? No anet comments on this for hours.
That’s what makes me think there’s a frantic meeting in progress as we speak:
“Okay, who did that?”
Maybe it’s a consolation prize for not landing a portal-to-the-beta stone in the Silverwastes?
