I’m with the OP on this one. If they don’t refund the cash, it feels like they duped us into buying gems by offering something they knew a lot of people wanted, then pulling a bait and switch leaving us with some kitten skin we don’t want, or the option of buying other things we don’t want.

I’ll be keeping my money in the future if it’s not a refund of whatever we used to buy the gems.

Either the guild he was in is completely nuts, or there’s more to the story than “they kicked me because I wouldn’t use guardian”. Unless you know other people in the guild you’re probably never going to get the other half of the story though.

Either way, like other people have already said, make whatever you want to play (preferably not ranger or thief if you’re planning on running with a group of more than 5-10, since both have basically squat to offer in terms of large scale combat), find a group of people who aren’t complete tools, and you should be good to go.

Please make the Mini Toxic Hybrid tradable.

My 17 mini risen priests of balthazar like this idea. Even forging them into trash gray items like broken hooves or spikes would make them less useless.

This seems like a bit much. Take out the mini and the bloodstone dust and replace them with like 10 silver. Then it would be more in line with normal WvW rewards.

we would appreciate not punishing us for playing correctly, for example, trying to remove a condition causing the condition to kill us.

Every other profession has the same problem. Activating a skill to remove confusion is going to trigger confusion before it removes it. Whether it’s cleansing wave (the trait or the skill), cleansing fire, shake it off, smite conditions, etc. doesn’t matter, they all work the same. If you’re low enough that activating 1 skill to remove confusion kills you, the other player(s) won, fair and square.

Chill affecting attunement swaps is a little strange, but attunement swaps triggering confusion makes perfect sense. We shouldn’t have an active condition removal tool that doesn’t trigger confusion when no one else does.

My only problem with the living story is that the Toxic Mobs kill supply yaks. On the flipside of this, I would love to see some big kitten dragon spawn and wipe a huge army then fly off and burn all the siege on some random keep somewhere once in a great while. A little added PvE chaos and some completely unpredictable factor would be great on the battle field.

December 10th Elementalist changes

Cleansing Wave
This is the one I am most on the fence about of all of the elementalist changes. It is a borderline master level trait and I think a better solution would be to leave it at adept tier and instead of moving Soothing Wave (which is only moving because it is better to have a 100% worthless trait at adept tier rather than master tier) we would redesign Soothing Wave into something worthy of master level.

This. Please this. For a similar reason to the arcana logic. We need water V to live a lot of the time in WvW, not because it’s OP, but because our low HP pool and armor makes being immobilized and not able to cleanse it a death sentence. Moving this up would make people dump 20 in water rather than 10 (doing the opposite of what you’re trying to do). That and +1 anything that replaces “100% worthless” traits with something useful.

Arcana
I see the logic in not wanting the two changes in this line to counter each other. Moving good adept traits to master level is contrary to reducing the need to spec into this line. That being said, Elemental Attunement is just a beast of a trait and could honestly be compared with most grandmaster traits. I think a good compromise would be to place Renewing Stamina back in the adept tier, placing is where the other professions get this type of trait, and instead move Final Shielding to the master tier where it could live alongside Arcane Retribution as two good choices in arcane builds that take Arcane Mastery in the adept tier. That could leave some interesting builds such as: 0/30/30/0/10 for fresh air, diamond skin, and renewing stamina. It also still leaves builds that put only 10 points in Arcana a chance to gain Protection by going 30 air for Tempest Defense, and 10 Earth for Elemental Shielding and still have 30 points leftover.

That would probably be better, since the traditional d/d ele builds (aura share or otherwise) could still use both elemental attunement and renewing stamina. Being in melee range of a zerg with light armor is enough of a pain with vigor and protection, being forced to pick one or the other could very well make it impossible.

That and from a WvW perspective, if you moved both there wouldn’t be anything useful left to pick in adept arcana if you used daggers. Final shielding would be the closest one to being useful, and blocking 3 hits isn’t going to do much if you have 60 people all swinging at you.

Cleansing wave was a grandmaster trait. The arcane one kind of peeves me. Actually makes me pretty anniyed and is a bad idea. Jon sharp if you are eeading this please no. Those two skills are far better than others and we have no other real ways of getting vigor without traiting for it and going all cantrips. Do you want us going all cantrips again?

Cleansing WATER was (and still is) a grandmaster trait. Cleansing WAVE was an adept trait, they’re moving it up.

Blink: 30s cd, breaks stun. Can be traited for 1200 range.
Lightning flash: 40s cd, doesn’t break stun. Can’t be traited for 1200 range.
Thief: Let’s not even go there.

CC duration reduction:
Ele- Geomancer’s Freedom: Reduce duration of crippled, immobilized, and chilled by 33%. Major 20 point trait
Warrior- Dogged March: Same as above, plus regen. Major 10 point trait.

Invuln:
Ele- Mist form: 3s invuln, 75s cd. can’t use other skills for duration, can’t cap points. Can’t trait for automatic mist form at certain hp threshold.
Engineer- Elixer S: Same as above, 60s CD. Can trait to get a second elixer S automatically.
Warrior- Endure pain: 4s invuln, can use other skills and cap points. 60s CD. Can trait to get a second endure pain automatically.

Gap closers/creators:
Ele- RTL: 20s cd, 40s if you miss, lag, get blocked, your opponent dodges, or you didn’t pick a target because you were trying to use it to run away.
Warrior- Rush: 20s cd. Period.
Ranger- Swoop: 12s cd. period.

X on dodge traits:
Ele- 30 point major trait (has an internal CD)
Mesmer and ranger- 20 point major trait
Guardian- 15 point minor trait
Necro- 10 point major trait (only other one with an internal CD)
Warrior and engineer- 5 point minor trait
Thief- 5 point minor for swiftness, 15 point minor to return some endurance after dodging, 10 point major for might on dodge, 10 point major to drop caltrops.

Passive movement speed boosts:
Ele- Windborne dagger. only 25% movement increase with d/d (15% with d/f, 10% with s/d) 20 point major (will be 10 point): doesn’t work outside of combat
Warrior- Warrior’s sprint. 25% movement speed increase on any set besides rifle or longbow. 10 point major. Works outside of combat.
Necro- Quickening thirst. 20 point major. Identical to windborne dagger except it works outside of combat.

tl;dr:
in most cases we have to invest more points to get a weaker version of something another profession has, on a longer cooldown. Clearly our vigor on crit trait was too close to being equal to mesmer and guardians’ so it had to be nerfed. Next will probably be soothing mist since it’s better than warriors’ regen trait when they have 0 adrenaline.

This can’t be a real idea.. Not when mesmers and guardians can nearly perma vigor just as easily as ele.

Only thing wrong here. I know it’s semantics, but mesmers and guardians get it much easier than eles do (not “just as easily as”) , even before the proposed nerf. If they want to move our vigor on crit trait, it should be a 5 point minor trait like mesmers and guardians, not a 20 point major trait.

Honestly, even ignoring the fact that moving both arcana V and VI to master is a huge nerf, moving V to master is going to have the opposite result from what they say they intended.

Elemental attunement is basically a required trait. Now anyone who was thinking outside the box with their build and only had 10 points in arcana has to invest 20. That’s ten LESS points to invest elsewhere, not more. Same goes for water V. It’s not quite as required, but it’s still basically required if you want to not die as soon as you get immobilized in WvW.

@ Devs: I know you don’t understand how ele works against opponents who don’t work for arenanet (who potentially play exactly like you want them to so you can say your test builds are viable when you beat a build no one actually uses in live), but really?… Jump into WvW (on LIVE servers, not your test servers, preferably against gold league servers) without a group of 80 as backup and see how long you live without arcana V or water V. It’s not going to be pretty. Forcing us to invest MORE HEAVILY in water and arcana traits to not die horribly is not the way to encourage us to try new builds. Neither is a grandmaster trait that only works until someone autoattacks us twice.

- this can be absurdly broken. Please, please, do not go with this. Not only pure passive immunity to conditions is very powerful, cheesy and and cannot be counter-played, but this new trait would literally kill specs like trap ranger, not to mention it would hurt necromancers.
Once again, do not go with this trait, it would be a huge mistake.

There actually is counter play to this trait unlike some other similar mechanics. The goal of the elementalist with this trait is to stay above 90% hit points while the counter play is to do a bit of physical damage to the elementalist to drop them below this threshold in order to get the conditions rolling on them, which will in turn help keep them below that threshold.

In SPvP an elementalist can reach a maximum of around 20,000-21,000 hit points. This means that 2100 would be the most damage you would need to do to an elementalist to break through this trait and in most cases it would be a lower amount than that. That is not very much damage needed to do in order to start applying conditions. This still leaves room for the elementalist using healing traits/skills and kiting to try to stay above that threshold to increase their survivability vs conditions.

We have been doing internal testing and it feels like it in a good place for a tier 3 trait. That being said though and as a reminder, none of these changes are set in stone yet and are subject to change.

translation: counter play is to hit the elementalist once or twice, as a single autoattack is likely going to deal 10% of their hp in damage, and they won’t be able to dodge since they no longer have vigor.

Eles are reliant enough on boons that moving arcane V to master actually forces us to dump an additional 10 points in arcane, rather than freeing us up to devote points elsewhere. I mean, I still plan on having 30, just saying that aspect seems backwards.

Also you’re really not leaving a whole lot of options for the adept arcane trait we’re going to be forced to pick after taking the mandatory 20, since you’re also moving up 2 of the other non-grandmaster arcane traits (VI and III) that weren’t complete garbage for a non-staff ele. Staff eles will pick blasting staff still so there’s no change to them, everyone else basically has to pick between their mediocre weapon-specific trait or final shielding.

Also not a big fan of piling every good ele trait into master or grandmaster tier in general. We still have to pick an adept trait. You should move arcane VI OR arcane V, and water I OR water V, so someone who dumps 20 points into the line can still use both instead of needing to pick a bad adept trait because there are no good ones left. Otherwise this feels like you’re still nerfing the only 2-3 viable ele builds to try to force us to use your still-not-as-good alternatives.

tl;dr: I know you’re obsessed with forcing eles into more build diversity, but nerfing arcane and water constantly isn’t going to make us switch to other builds, you need to make the other trait lines not suck. Which involves more than throwing one decent grandmaster trait and a bunch of crap into them. Fire especially needs a complete overhaul. Even a nerfed (again) bunker ele is still going to be vastly superior to everything else.

Can you elaborate? How would WvW work without a downed state?

It would work much better. You would only have to kill someone once to take them out of the fight, rather than starting at needing to do it twice, and that number increasing every time they rally off of any one of the people they tagged.

Small, unorganized groups could potentially start taking out big unorganized zergs more consistently if they didn’t have to focus on trying to aoe/range down the people they already killed once, and if the 80 man zerg didn’t get 10-20 free rezzes every time they managed to take down anyone in the small group they were rolling over.

Most (read as: all other) large scale pvp games do not have a downed state that you can be insta-rezzed from (and hopefully future ones won’t either), so obviously it can work just fine.

Trading JQ for TC probably doesn’t make a huge difference population-wise at this point on reset night. I’d be willing to bet TC can fill all 4 maps for the first few hours at least.

If reset night has better lag than the other nights had they probably fixed something.

A very well thought out and in depth proposal. I would like to see some serious input on this instead of a bunch of kittens… “you cant!” “but, but but..”

If we can get this worked into a formal proposal (after some more input of course) I’d like to see what the devs have to say about possible implementation.

There is plenty of serious input telling you why this is a terrible idea, but I’ll elaborate (again) for you.

Here is why each proposed tier is a terrible suggestion.

Level 1: Gain 300% more hp while downed.

The zerg now has 4 times as long to spike one person to rally all of their “dead”. A smaller group fighting the zerg can’t stop to spike people, the zerg can. Promotes zerging.

Level 2: All down state skill cooldowns are reduced by 70%.

This one would make mesmers, thieves, and elementalists borderline immortal, and give several classes better, more consistent CC in downed state than they have normally.

Level 3: You transfer 1 condition to your attackers once per second.

A small group fighting a zerg would be punished for having any AoE conditions, since they would essentially be hitting themselves with conditions once the zerg started going down. Promotes zerging.

Level 4: Once downed you will be rendered invulnerable for 2 seconds.

2 extra seconds for the zerg to rally their downed state people, other than that this is the only one of the 5 that wouldn’t pretty much completely destroy any attempt at taking down a larger group than yourself.

Level 5: Instant rally once downed on a 180 second cooldown. Once rallied you will recieve: protection, regeneration, retaliation and swiftness.

Most people who know what they’re doing don’t get downed more often than once every 3 minutes. This would make everyone in the zerg completely immortal (unless facing an even larger zerg), and give the ones bad enough to get downed free buffs. Just no.

tl;dr: Anything that promotes zerging is bad. The downed state, frankly, already promotes zerging. Making the downed state more powerful would only make it worse. If anything they should remove the downed state from WvW entirely, not buff it.

“Practice Makes Perfect” Mastery:

Tier 1: Care more about learning to play WvW than about farming achievements. If you don’t want to learn how to play WvW, you’re not going to.

Tier 2: Don’t suggest making the downed state even worse than it is (or nullifying cc completely against a zerg by giving them perma-stability). It’s bad enough that people don’t just die outright when we kill them in the first place, and worse than 95% of a zerg is already immune to stuns because of the AoE cap. The last thing we need is to make it harder to kill someone who should already be dead and further promote zerging.

Tier 3: Learn to play your character in WvW: Look up WvW builds on your class forums, or ask someone. A PvE build is not going to cut it, and frankly neither is an spvp build in many cases. Accept the fact that you’re very likely going to be annihilated, repeatedly, when you first start pvp if you’re used to pve.

Tier 4: Learn to follow directions from experienced WvWers: Many servers have voice chat servers, and you’re largely encouraged not to talk, since you’ll interrupt the commander (so you don’t have to worry about asking a dumb question and giving yourself away as a carebear). Some of the commanders have over a year of WvW experience, and several have over a decade of large scale pvp leadership experience. Join one of the public channels, find where the group is, and do what the commander tells the group to do. If your character is built correctly for group play (see tier 3) and you can follow directions from a commander, you’re already probably doing better than half of the people tagging along not in their core group. If you don’t know what you’re doing, and you’re not with a group, you’re not helping your server accomplish anything, you’re likely not going to have much fun, and you’re not going to learn much of anything either.

Tier 5: If you have questions, odds are they’re answered already either here or on the wiki. Do some research. If you still can’t find the answer, you’re probably better off asking it here than in the game or in teamspeak unless you know the people you’re asking. If you’re serious about continuing to WvW, consider joining a guild that WvWs. Most require you to already have some experience, which is why this is in “tier” 5 and not earlier. If you STILL have questions, and you feel like you’re being trolled on the forums or in game (protip: you probably are), you can ask your guildmates.

Feedback: WvW Season 1 Achievements

Since I’ve completed the season 1 achivements yesterday, in less than 3 days, here is my comments based on actual experience.

Advanced Mists Defender: 450 kills. Too easy,done in a few hours.
Big Spender: Too easy.
Camp Crusher: 100 camps. Did around 30+ a day.
Castles in the Air: 5 Stonemist captures. Best done upon weekly reset,completed in sunday.
Demolition Expert: 30 walls/gates. Buggy but easy,do together with 30 towers gate. Invested in flame ram mastery so that no one will complain about achievement hunting.
Guard Killer: 500. Done in a few hours.
Leapers in the Mists: Done in a few minutes.
Master of Ruins: 50. Most boring,50 is too much,but can be done under 2 hours.
Mist Merc Camps: 50. Only gives progress for Neutral camps going to be claimed. Just tag a monster or res the merc then move on,let others finish the event, you get progress for success and failure. Easy achievement but amount too high.Completed in 3 days,did around 15+ a day.
Defense Restorer: Time consuming, have to run from supply camp to the broken tower walls/gates.Worst if supply camp is running on empty.Tiring achievement due to the running back n forth from supply camp to tower. Done in a few hours, since 500 supplies is = 50 repairs only(if u use 10 supply each time)
Sentry Capture: 225. Too high for me to clear in less than 3 days, around 65% progress so far.
Supplies Severed: 225. Too high for me to clear in less than 3 days, around 60% progress so far.
The Keeps: Was in EB mostly, not much of keep flipping, better to do in BL since there is 3 keeps(garrison counts as keep) 7/10 for me so far.
World Ranker: 50. Or 125,000 wxp. Too high for me to clear in less than 3 days,only have 30 ranks,10 per day.

15/15 achievements can be cleared in less than 3 days.
19/19 achievements can definitely be cleared in less than 1 week.
6 weeks remaining to do other stuff.
Peace! But invaders must die!

Get rid of the WvW achievements for League

For all those that flocked to top rank servers for the easy win deserve the days of wait…

What about those who have been on the tier 1 servers from day 1, or transferred many months ago because everyone in tier 2 and lower was fleeing in terror from their guild and they couldn’t get fights anymore below tier 1?

Do we also deserve the days of wait?

Anyone who transferred before leagues were announced hardly did it for “easy wins”. If we wanted that we’d have stacked a low tier server and steamrolled people instead.

I think the OP’s point is to not be kittens to the PvEers. Yeah, a lot of them with “achieve” then GTFO, but we might end up with a few who always assumed PvP was horrible but find out they like it.

THOSE people might not be the majority, but we don’t wanna run them off by being kittens.

Why would being kittens scare them off? kittens are adorable and might make them want to stay!

Here is my ? after a YEAR of playing this game to all of you who always complain about this.

WHY CONTINUE TO PLAY AFTER EXPERIENCING ANYTHING OVER 30 SECONDS OF THAT AWFUL LAG?

As human beings, how could you possibly sit at your desk, on your comp, and experience any feeling of fun watching your screen basically just lag out because of the terrible server stability? Wouldn’t there be a little spark in your mind saying, “you know, this isn’t that fun at all….you’re right conscience, this is actually pretty brutal. In fact laughable…..what am I actually doing this for?”

Here is an idea…stop running around with 100 other people.

If you’re seeing lag on your screen it’s your system not their servers. I’m not saying there aren’t server issues because there are. Poor frame rate isn’t an indication of this though.

Yaks actually being 30 yards ahead of where they’re displaying on the screen and the map (walking normal speed btw), rubber banding, and skills taking 15-30 seconds to activate have nothing to do with frame rate. It’s their servers, not our systems.

As for not running around with 100 other people… I was alone, so that doesn’t help either. A big fight happening all the way on the other side of the map makes me lag like hell, because -drumroll- it’s their servers that are the problem, and I’m not on a separate server from the 100v100v100 fight going on in hills.

Bugged Queues

Queues have been this way since launch guys, if you bothered to listen or hear out EU players you would know this. NA players are just now experiencing what EU players have had since launch.

I don’t understand why we have 7 rounds in the first place when it should actually be 10 if we’re to play out all possible matchups. Allow me to illustrate:

With all due respect, not every league has 6 servers in it. That would be fair for NA gold league, but a league with 12 (i.e. NA silver league) would need significantly more than 10 weeks. I don’t know about you, but I don’t really want to wait 5 months+ for the first league to end just so every single possible matchup can happen in each league at least once.

I dont know about that. BG clearly needed JQ’s help to get SoR garri, only to easily lose it again.

At the time when we were defending SoR garri, while being low on numbers, we were hit by JQ from the west and BG from the east at the same time. They both moved into inner garri at the same time. They didn’t fight eachother, and once BG was capping the lord’s room in SoR garri, i saw JQ move out. I don’t know what kind of deal you made, but that was a very obvious double team. SoR was too low on forces, and it would have made sense if JQ attempted to wipe BG and take garri instead, but they didn’t even try to put up a fight.

BG couldn’t have pulled it off without JQ.

Meanwhile in JQ BL map chat, BG commanders were telling us to let SoR have JQ’s garri. Clearly SoR couldn’t have pulled it off without BG.

Wellp, guess we can see who doesn’t normally get queues. They’ve been random since the beta weekends. Why they even call them queues is beyond me, they’re a lottery, not a queue.

I’ve just transferred from sos to bg last week. after a week of some good wvw, tonight I had my first experience with the game being truly unplayable. I mean everyone has experienced the skill lag of a 3 way server battle in sm, even on anvil rock. but reset had another level of lag I had never seen before. I would be able to walk more or less okay..but try to static a zerg? or wall them? FORGET ABOUT IT. I couldnt even use utilities to save myself. I could really only cast autos. and even then, sometimes my auto would bug out and my animation would sputter like a machine gun, doing no damage. when fighting a long battle in keep, my aoe circles (and dmg) sometimes simply disappeared. only autos could be cast and landed with damage with any precision.

my guild just logged off after that long fight. it was just unplayable…please do something anet.

Reset is always like that on BG. However, now the middle of saturday afternoon is also like that. I logged after I rubber banded into seeing I was already dead and staked, and whoever killed me had even had time to get completely out of vision range.

Winning the league isn’t guaranteed for JQ. SoR is guaranteed a win in all matchups not involving JQ so they have a shot at winning the league as well.

How charming of you for totally discounting BG which IMO has been the least arrogant and least hypocritical on this thread.

As an SOR player, I fully expect to split those match ups with BG. Which means JQ will pull out in front. Not sure how that’s arrogance.

I killed 3 dolyaks by attacking roughly 20 yards in front of where they appeared to be on my screen, ran from an attempt at a solo camp flip (easymode if there’s no lag) because I couldn’t use skills when I needed them and the NPCs were starting to kill me, was running up to another dolyak, and bam. Teleported back down the mountain, dead, with a stake in my body. No enemy players in vision range. Logged out. Came here. Not amused.

Well each meta attachment gives you a reward but that only the small bit you get during running wvw. There are build in rewards in wvw by them self and it seems at the end of the wvw season there is a big reward. I guess they could of just put it all in one big one at the end and not given you any thing up until then but then ppl would only complain that they want rewards now etc..

Yes, I’m sure WvW players would whine and complain about how they want rewards “right now!” and couldn’t stand to wait another 7 weeks for something that wasn’t more vendor/salvage trash. After all, the huge mountains of cash we get is the reason we participate in WvW, right?

No it has nothing to do with wanting to smash the faces of tier 2. That’s quite shallow, that’s not how we think. It does have to do with exhausting our resources earlier and more often. It’s not easy going against one of big 3s.

It also has more to do with how badly JQ has to kitten the bed to not come in at least second. Even two of the t1 servers getting 2 free wins and the third getting 1 would be better than JQ getting 3.

What exactly am I missing about achievement points anyways. The ap chests are like 1 gold every 500. You can make 1gold in a few minutes. Can’t people just continue doing there pve and Halloween stuff and get ap. Why all of a sudden do they have to come into wvw for them?

Achievement points let them brag about how good they are at gw2 without them needing to actually be good at anything. They like being able to talk about how much more “hardcore” they are than someone with less achievement points because they can farm all 19 daily achievements 365 days a year.

If they don’t come into wvw and get the temporary achievements before they’re gone they might fall behind on the high scores and not be cool anymore.

Also they likely want their free loot for whatever place their server takes in the league so they can have a super 1337 wvw finisher to show off how awesome they are at a game mode they don’t play when they aren’t handing out free things.

The problem is essentially this (let’s assume BG has a really bad 7 weeks) if:
-SoR wins week 1 or 7 and JQ wins the other (and BG is third both times)
-SoR beats JQ in their 1v1
-SoR takes 2 out of 3 in the 1v1s against BG

All JQ needs to do to tie SoR for FIRST is beat BG (who is clearly having a rough 2 months from the above assumptions) in their 1v1.

tl;dr: for JQ to come in second (and not tie for first) first place needs to win either all 3 matches against JQ, all but 1 match overall, or third place needs to beat JQ at least once. For JQ to come in third they pretty much need to collapse and come dead last in both 3 way matches.

Anyone who thinks JQ consistently dominates t1 and that it’s ok to hand them a free win because they were going to win for sure anyway has either been living under a rock for a very long time, works for arenanet, or is from JQ.

1. Skill Lag (especially on reset nights and during large battles). As a d/d elementalist, not being able to fire off skills in large fights is pretty much a death sentence, since my healing disappears, my cc disappears, and most of my evasion also disappears.
2. Zergs (especially full map 80+ person ones), and how to punish them into splitting up, or how to give smaller groups the tools to take them down.
3. Rewards compared to PvE. 2-3 hours of pve nets me more gold than ~30-40 of WvW on a good week, the disparity is insane.

I love the artwork for Norn, but unfortunatly most armor for male norn make you look either fat or akward. Females look good though.

I’m pretty sure it’s male norn that make male norn look fat and awkward, not their armor. <_<

Where’s my WvW ascended weapons as well?

I HATE PvE…..I’ve still yet to run 1 fractal

I did do my 1st dungeon run last week or so…….ugh

You don’t have to pve to get ascended weapons (unless you’re actually counting crafting as pve, or killing supervisors/lords as pve). You just have to be a very patient masochist. All of the mats can drop from WvW (although everything except the empyreal fragments will take much longer), and you can buy the other stuff (including the 500 crafting) with all of that glorious 90% less money than you’d have made if you had done pve instead.

Ascended backpieces are the only thing you physically can not get, period, without pve. The other pieces are just a lot easier and/or faster to get from pve, they’re at least possible to get from wvw.

Uhh I’m sorry forgot WvW yields the same as PvE……………………….

I like the part where you stopped reading after “you don’t have to pve to get ascended weapons.” I already mentioned the fact that wvw drops are garbage compared to pve. Please try to keep up.

Having the same problem. I even tried hanging around until the timer ran out at each of the 3 batteries (one per wave, didn’t go near the other 2), and then tried getting bronze credit on all 3 in each wave (major pain in the kitten , and a huge waste of time apparently), and still nothing.

Is there some kind of secret hidden order we need to do them in to get credit, or is it just bugged and random?

Can someone please explain to me why people are crying about the ability to buy WXP? It literally hurt nobody. All it did was open doors to players who wanted the option. I’m honestly really annoyed at all this “it hurts the alts” bullkitten. It’s called character progression. Without it this game would grow really stale really fast.

It hurt players with multiple alternates. They are selling character based levels for account bound currency. Levels which give statistical superiority. Its pretty obvious why this is a problem.

“Not helping” and “hurting” are two very different things. Playing a single character in WvW already got you significantly higher WvW ranks than splitting your time between alts before this.

If you’re still playing multiple characters in WvW, you already decided that playing on alts was more important to you than those bonus stats. Unless you’ve suddenly changed your mind and want to only use one character now that you can waste your laurels and badges on WvW ranks, it really doesn’t change much of anything.

Most people who WvW with any consistency aren’t going to buy ranks anyway. Either because they already have the stat-granting trait lines maxed, because they need the money from badges/laurels more than ranks, or because they’re hoarding them in the hopes that something useful to someone who’s been 80 for more than 3 hours will eventually be sold for badges. And those who don’t WvW regularly will still be fairly easy kills even if they somehow buy their way to a little extra hp and damage output.
