Hey everybody!
ArenaNet tried to make exploring the world more tempting with traits bound to them. This system did not seem to do so well, but now they are adding crafting materials to the explore reward system.
Personally this is great news for me, but I made some suggestions about further improving the way events work to ecourage players to do them:
Renown Hearts :
At this moment we have 6 sets of karma armor, with their own looks. I suggest to add more unique skins to these merchants. These do not have to be whole sets, but also just a single unique skin. For example Crab Toss Gloves (North Bloodtide Coast) could actually look like Crab hands. Just some loose ideas, but it definetly would excourage people to explore the world.
Event Reward System
At this moment your reward is based on how much you have done in the event, divided into Bronze, Silver and Gold. However my suggestion is to increase your event reward by participating in pre-events. In a chain event your reward will grow for an event if you have done the event before it.
Next to that you could add something like a favor system. If you are helping out quaggan with events on a certain map, for example Sparfly Fen, your award event award will be increased for every event you do. For example 10% with a cap of 100%. Next to quaggan you can add Sylvari favor when helping them in events against the Nightmare Court and other dangers for example. This system would ecourage people to do smaller events like collecting stuff for someone.
For big Meta Events like taking Balthazar’s Temple in Straits of Devastation you could add bonus magic find for a certain time on that map if you participated in that events.

However all the leaders of the Vigil (players) are actually not that united. Hard to find a Drytop map since it really underpopulated. Many silverwastes map fighting the VineWrath, but afterwards the map is taken over by chestfarm instead of building up power against the mordrem again.
For everyone who does like combat mechanics instead of walking in a huge group digging up some chests I present you: Maguuman Raiders! [MR]
This guild is created for fully focus on defeating Mordrem. Main activities of the guild will be Dry Top and Silverwastes. However Silverwastes actually needs some explanations.
How the Maguuman Raiders do Silverwaists
In this guild everything is about killing mordrem. Therefore we find an empty map and start over there to rally against the VineWrath. However afterwards we do not chestfarm. We will be killing several champions and do the Labyrinth while the timer is ticking down and prepare for our next assault. Once the timer is down we start with the assault again while having the hero’s buff.
Many people aggree that the combat and teamplay to rally against the beast is a way better experience then digging up chests.
Next to that I’dd like to say you ofcourse can dig up some chests inbetween events, but we do not want a map ruined by a chestfarm.
Representing
Representing is not a must. We only would like you to represent while joining one of our maps.

I would rather see an increase when completing chain events.
A single event would award a bit less than it currently does.
But when you finish the next one your award is increased and so on. For example:
Escort warmaster chan to anchorage: 1s.
Clean anchorage: 1.5s if participated in chan event, otherwise 1s again.
Recover scrap metal in preparations of arah assault: 2s if done both pre events, 1.5 if only done 1 and 1 of its first event.
I do aggree with the part about the footfalls that they should last a bit longer, but next to that it seems to be fine like me.
As for kit effects, there are none directly into kit skills. There are several toolbelt skills that are affected, wether you are using the kit or not.

I advice you to join the teamspeak in WvW. In there you can find many guild that are dedicated to WvW. You could there find a comfortable guild which fits you

To start off please check if there are any other topics first before you make a post since there are actually many.

When it comes down to camera you can let them be the same as before by setting them to default.
Please be patient since the devs are actually very busy cleaning bugs at this moment (We had 4 new builds in half a week covering most of them).
Very well find. I tested this just to be sure too and also found the same thing. Indeed as said above this is probably because it is caused by traits, and not the condition itself. I do find this bug fix very well and have full faith that ArenaNet will adress terror also soon.

With a power build and signet mastery, you also get might. Look into might duration runes and might sigils. I see what you are up to with Curses and cannot fault it, though I cringe at the cost to Spite.
The single best thing about SoV is Might when traited. I only use it when I can get by with weak heals.
Also, it looks like you have… less condition clearing than I like to play with.
Indeed this build does flaw condition removal. To maintain this in the build you can go for Shrouded removal and take away the spite points. This will give you 1 condi removal every 7s. If you are fighting mobs (Not single enemy boss) you can also go for Spiteful removal.
This build wouldn’t work in pvp just fyi.

I admire this, I admire that you told us not to expect this to be the highest DPS you can do.
Team play is very different from everything. The size of your team and the role that you must play is important. I am intrigued by any template that breaks the meta. People often pass judgement to quickly.
I make several different Necros with different builds for different things. One necro I have is made to work perfectly with my mesmer friends template. We have a very very high boon ripping power right now and can hold just about any point in PvP together especially from classes with allot of stability.
So thank you for giving us, different choices based on whim, fun or just plain interest. Cause you never know what can happen in a team environment a build that seems weak stand alone may be very strong as a unit.

Any power build that doesn’t take the 50% damage increase is just a mistake now.
Not to mention vamp signet sucks.

As I explained Signet of Vampirism is best option for team. You all will get some heals, has same cast time as CC and actually does about 7k damage to the enemy if 4 other allies will attack it too.
Since you have target of the weak why not switch well of corruption to signet of spite, because even well of corruption isnt that good for pve.
I have been thinking about this. In a situation of group PvE the enemy will have a lot of conditions already applied throughout many skills from other players too, even when they are berserker.
When Solo PvE the damage the well does gives you more dps (Yes calculated the dps including cooldown) than signet of spite active does (Also included cooldown).
Next to that The bleeding will already be applied through Crits and Emfeebling Blood (DS). Vulnerability through well and reapers touch etc. You will apply several of those conditions already
Please note that this build will probably be not the highest dps for necro, and is purely made to create another style of playing instead of meta. Fun and optimal can be 2 very different things^^

I have been testing out and experimenting lately and I made this alternative power necro build!
Charactistics of the build
- Quite high dps
- Very high critical chance due to high fury uptime
- Moderate self healing without losing dps
- Supporting team with Signet of Vampirism and AoE weakness
- Quite good AoE pressure
Build parts explained
Weapons
Your axe/focus is ment for burst damage. However because of the low damage AA and weapon swap time only casting Ghastly Claws will not improve your overall dps. Therefore you should only swap when Well of Suffering is off cooldown and Signet of Vampirism and Blood is Power too. You should be able to do: Swap to Axe > Ghastly Claws > Well of Suffering > Signet of Vampirism > Reaper’s Touch > Blood is Power > Ghastly Claws > Swap back to dagger.
Your Dagger/Warhorn is for your sustained while others skills are on cooldown. Only well of corruption should be cast at will when it is off cooldown here. Your Blood is Power and Well of Suffering should be on cooldown at the same time so you can cast when you swap to axe. Using warhorn 5 (locust Swarm) gives you more AoE damage, but will also do siphon damage from vampiric (precision). Skill 2 and 3 are only used situational!
Utilities
Signet of Vampirism is often seen as bad. But it does have a place. When you take Consume Conditions you will not be diong any damage for 1.25s. If you take Signet of Vampirism you and your team will do extra damage because you actually healed. It has only a bit higher CD (3s) and same cast time.
The Wells are obvious choices since they offer huge AoE damage, vulnerability and boon corruption.
Blood is Power is here to maintain your might high.
Lich Form is the best elite you can pick with seriously high damage.
Deathshroud’s role
Deathshroud is in this build not used for it’s skills. It is used to give you high uptime fury. Double pressing DS will cause you to do Enfeeble blood and give Fury for 5.5s. This is an almost instant swap and will not even cause your dagger AA to start over again when cast inbetween the chain.
The Sigils and Runes
Runes
The reason I chose runes of rage is that they will give you the 100% fury uptime. When having such high critical hit chance the main stat of the rune Ferocity is more than welcome. Next to that it will give a flat 5% damage bonus.
As an alternative you can go for the Rune of Strength. However might is way much easier to obtain when you are fighting in groups than fury. It does give a flat damage bonus of 2% more, but at a cost of not having 100% fury uptime.
When you have too much incoming conditions you can also choose to go Rune of Hoelbrak. However in PvE (Which this build is made for) I rarely get into such situations.
Sigils
The Bloodlust sigil is pretty much mandatory together with Sigil of Fire because of max damage reasons. However there can be some runes swapped around. If you are mainly using this build against single targets you can also go with Sigil of Lightning. This will turn out in higher damage.
If you lack any form of condition cleanse you can get a sigil of Generosity in there (You will be critting enough to be reliable). However since this rune is almost 100g you can also go for sigil of Purity. Sigil of Cleansing is in this case not the best option since you will only swap sets twice every 30s. (Approximatly)
The traits alternatives
I think the best other option for your traits to swap out your 2 Spite points and put 1 in Soul Reaping for Strength of the undead, increasing your damage by 5%. The other one can be used to give wells a lower cooldown, or to go Deathly Invigorations giving a small AoE heal (500+) every 7 seconds. However using them in Spite felt better for me. The reduced cooldown lets you help your team better and you can some free might in addition to the 100 power the trait line itself gives. (This will make the traits look like this)
Give me some feedback about this build, try it out. It feels so much different since death shroud is for your fury only. I think it is an awefull lot of fun and with pretty good results.

The questions are all about the siphon damage
Q.1: I read on many places that bloodthirst increases your siphon damage by 1.5 (50%). However the trait tooltip suggests only 20%. Which one is right?
Q.2: Wiki says about Vampiric it has a damage coëfficiënt of 0.2 and base damage of 24. Does this mean that i can siphon damage some1 with 400+ damage? (0.2x 2000+24= 424)
Trying to experiment with some stuff and kinda stuck here^^

Here is my short suggestion:
Let entering Death Shroud count as an actual weapon swap.
This will not cause any balance problems because of IC on swap sigils, but could actually give us more build variety.
Guild chat does not work at this moment. If you do want it to work here is the solution:
Go to friends list and set yourself to invisible. Then turn it back on online
Tip: Ask your guild leader to set this in message of the day to every1 can see it

First of all I am placing this topic here because it affects everyone, so not only eles, and is important for wvw and pvp.
Most of us know that feeling that when you see an ice bow for example, you think “hey lets ice storm some1!”. However the ice bow you saw was summoned by your enemy. You cant see the difference until you get close and notice there is no “F” option. Can you fix this? By removing the “Ice Bow” name above it? Or coloring it red?
Its a small change but could make us do less "sigh

I think they should start with making the toolbelt skills also be catagorised as gadgets like elixirs. That would change things significantly.
Yes this stacks. At least for backpack regen and dokyak. I use those in pvp much and works really well. I love to use them with healing bombs and elixir gun for more healing. Tank modeeee:D
I hope a skill like soul releaser. You stab your sword in the ground releasing the souls from cracks in the ground. Each soul hits a target like meteor shower. Might apply vuln or smth
ArenaNet did say (Colin did) in an interview with Angry Joe they are not adding new weapons. I know they can still surprise us, but dont get hopes too high.
I tend to go with sb+ a/t. Shortbow is great overall pressure with good control over your enemy because of cripple and daze/stun. However positioning is the key since you lack sword evades. This is why evasive shot thing is awesome. It can always be used, even when retreating, and the swiftness helps you position better in a flanking position. Shortbow also gives adventage when your enemies retreat since they will most likely run away from you, which makes it easy to apply your bleeds.
Next to that A/T is your more offensive set. On pbl spitblade is a huge condition burst, even bigger when fired inside your fire field. While using this it is essential to run LR, muddy terain and ST. ST makes your burst doubled, and LR and MT keeps your surviveablility and control over the enemy up when in this set.

Dagger auto attack is one of the strongest auto attacks in the game
Dagger AA actually isnt that good. The only profession which doesnt have a better AA is ele.
Heck even ranger sword hits higher.
Besides that, dagger does need a more defined role instead of dps/heal/control in my perspective
When it comes down to wurm I do aggree that it could use a range increase. This would make it more viable to get back on another point to defend it. It wouldnt be too strong since the enemy knows you can port here at any time and kill the wurm asap.
Looking at SW I disaggree totally. As some1 already said its duration can already be traited. Next to that the purpose of the skill is positioning in a fight. It already seems to do its work just fine and feels perferctly balanced.

To start with Idd like to point out that (as everyone knows) necros are bottom tier when it comes down to dps.
When the new greatsword weapon comes out there are two options for it to be:
1. Higher dps than dagger
2. Lower dps than dagger
Now this seems quite obvious, but there is a concern here.
In case 1 greatsword will ofcourse be better and give us a place, but what would we use dagger for then? Dagger seems to be mainly about dps in its current role. Will dagger be trash?
In case 2 we would still be waaay in bottom tier and greatsword would have some other roles hopefully.
Both cases do not seem very appealing to me. I personally love wielding a dagger, but I wouldnt if it doesnt have any purpose.
How do you think about this?

Putrid Explosion can crit, but it is based on bone minion crit chance and crit damage, not yours.
To explain further ziggs, bone minions have an estimated crit chance of 4%. Yes i do aggree that this should change
Hence I do have all my skills locked on comfortable buttons so I do not have to click with the mouse, I do support this idea. It would not require much energy to do this change (I think) and can understand this would help people track their mouse better.
Having weakness and crippled would mean you only get 25% endurance regen. Would be unbalanced. However I do aggree that crippled has to be buffed a little in some way. Lets say a dodge would actually be perfomed in a lower evade frame. The evade time while dodging would become 0.5s instead of 0.75 and your dodges dont do 300 units anymore, but about 200(?)
kangaroosteak.6201, you just made my day. It really was enlighning to see this fresh build which is actually very viable (Just tried it out myself). The build does require quite some skill which is very appealing to me since I like builds that require high skills level, but also reward better. I tried making several builds around kit refinement but I never touched the sweet spot, you just did. +1k for you
Hey guys! Here is a list of suggestions idd and as ive seen many others want. Add if you want, give feedback and discuss!
1. Toss elixir changes: get rid of randomness. Give them more reliability to use them in situations where you need it.
2. Gadget toolbelt skills count as gadges. To prevent superspeed from being more op, make the cd higher, but when investing in last trait line with speedy gadgets give about the same cd it currently has. This would recuire more investment to get a fast stunbreaker but limits trait choice. Next to that it could make gadgeteer more viable.
3. Mokitteno I really have to explain again?
4. Tool kit AA. At least change the 3rd part of the chain to cleave and slightly less casting time to land it easier.
5. HOBOSACKS
Add in comments more and ill add.
There is only one reason which I could think of: you can play anything you want pretty viable. Wether it is dps, tank, heck even heal! The gameplay is really pushing you to the limit since it is really hard working to bring out the best.
People talk about ele being better, but I think they are quite much a tie. Idd say you should make both an ele and an engi and play with them to find out which playstyle suits you best!

Actually the only thing i wish is that they make the longbow harder but more rewarding to play. At this monent the reward is way too high for the low skill needed.
Pistol whip is your heaven against bosses. Add smoke shot thing against mobs and there you go: you solo

Since I have been playing ele I love to fight with a shield! It seems really cool to me, but I havent found any good use of conjure earth shield. Any1 suggestions? The game mode doesnt matter, it feels for me like it doesnt have a place anywhere.
One of the screens, they are mostly the same, can not get any closer due to invisible walls.
Underwater “corpses” actually arent corpses but models that they placed for the design. There is also a tequatl under straights of devastation.
if its +100 for each equiped, that means you can use sword/axe and get +100 derocity, then that would be very useful (and probably should give 20% cooldown reduction on axe skills)

Try finding hardcore gameplay. Start soloing dungeons, do fractals. Spare up to create full ascended. Go master your WvW skills! Plenty of stuff!
You get the Ferocity in your OH axe, but to activate the trait you need to have axe in MH.
Like, if you have MH axe + warhorn, the warhorn will get the bonus ferocity.But yeah, that trait is very iffy. Your trait change suggestion would be really good.
Ye I didnt mean the ferocity is only applied to MH axe :P wrong typibg I guess. But ut just feels really useless while it could have great potential when its changed
Also Zhaitan's tail, or at least a large part of it, is in the Durmand Priory during the living story

As the player we get to kill Zhaitan in Arah. We shot him down from high above. But as far as I know there has been no confirmation he actually died. No one went down to his body. Therefore it could be he is recovering from his damage and getting ready for revenge. Wait for it…
Or am I missing something?:P
