Disagree.
At gw2 launch 2.546.124 players played hardest content. (Arah dungeon)
6 months later 1.8245.654 (fractal update).
1 year later, 1,124.456 players played liadri, concealing dark (8 orb extra challenge)
6 months later 741.874 (Fractal level 100 was added)
Another 8 months later: 600.754 Hot Added, difficult maps/mobs only this much people have all masteries, map completions, and story completions in this map
3 months later: raids. Player tried 1.541.235. Players succeed 214.456
5 months later, game in stagnation, only two raids added, current amount of total play (defeats included) 412.456
4 months later: OP’s suggestion makes it out: 214.214 people left doing it
4 month later, op’s suggesiton make it out again 124.478
1 year later, 3 inclusions more: 32.458 players left, playing hardest content. These numbers are artificial, and made up, but they are made up to illustrate a point, wich correlates closely with reality (in my opinion) of what Anet has done.
You realize you completely fabricated numbers to prove a bias in which you actually have zero evidence of right? Please stop trying to sound intelligent, you failed miserably
Non Raiders blocked from XP bar spirit shards

if you dont raid anyway, you dont need the masteries, they are entirely useless to non raiders, your complaint is equally as pointless as spirit shards are
(edited by The one to Rule.2593)
so in a few months time you MIGHT fix the bugs? anet this isn’t something that needs to be pushed back into that patch just to make it look bigger, this is something that needs to happen NOW
^^ strongly disagree, while it’s true you don’t need to personally talk, it makes the raid vastly easier. I’ve raided since day one, cleared everything, and I couldnt imagine trying to do sabetha or matthias without coms and someone making calls.
He asked if he needs to be able to talk on TS. He does not unless he wants to be a raid leader. Most pug groups only require you to listen if they want you to use voice chat.
Just today I cleared whole wing 1 on first try with a pug group on another account (had almost no legendary insights on it, so group without insights or other proof requirements). There was TS but noone was required to speak. Actually I didnt even understand much of what the commander was saying, was a weird mix of russian and english.
I am sure OP will be just fine if he tells his group about his disability to speak.
i’m sure he will too. again pointless argument because i never said he had to talk. But he does need TS. It can be done without it sure, but that’s generally a horrible idea. especially when learning the raid. I was refuting your statement about voice chat not being important at all

Neither boss requires all 10 ppl to open their mouth tho. In fact it’s usually better if not everyone talks a lot.
I never said he had to talk, infact, I said he didn’t have to talk. But I do still reccomend voice chat, just to listen for calls.
Voice chat is not important at all. When I pug raids I usually only come to listen what others have to say and not talk much if anything at all. If people you raid with have situational awareness they will see if you need healing/rezzing or otherwise in trouble.
A zero TS group will probably work, too, if people arent too lazy for typing.Very important, in a ten man team you have to be able to communicate, and most people arent going to look into the chat box, half the time when they can type something, the enemy attack has already happened. Voice chat is a must have, that said though, u dont need to talk, just listen to your teamates
I strongly disagree. TS is nice to have but entirely optional if everyone knows what they are doing and distributed important jobs before starting (eg. who goes into green fields, who stops mortars etc)

tbh, you really need the masteries if you want anything good
Thanks Gaile.
I only have one question in regards to this change. Why not require every member of the raid group to have at least 2 legendary weapons to progress instead of just ley line gliding?
If you’re gonna go hardcore, you gotta go hardcore to the max. I feel like you guys are being way to generous with this requirement.
Just my 2¢.
Cuz that’s dumb as hell
tbh a 2 man doesn’t even really qualify as a premade in my opinion, since the majority there is a pug.
just to clarify im just a person of average skill who knows how to rotate maps yeah there are a lot of better players than me, but the ones i lose to i generally feel like we were evenly matched. Last season i kept getting paired against pros like moob and was getting wrecked
I just ping my vial of salt.
i bet nobody has thought about doing that b4 in all of guild wars.
I bet I never said I was going for originality did I? Look at half the things people have said, none of them are original in the slightest.
I just ping my vial of salt.
That’s because you’re extremely non-creative.
Because I don’t type a full dissertation doesn’t make me non creative. It means i’m too busy playing to type.
Any variation of “salt” or “umad” is just an immediate indicator of a person who isn’t intelligent enough to make a decent comment, so they go with a standard one that requires no effort.
That’s the issue. Why bother talking kitten if it requires no effort?
That’s your opinion, and in no way a fact, what I type out in a pvp match has no bearing on my intelligence. Get tf out of here and go troll elsewhere.

I’ve been paired against 3 full premades today, beat all of them. Being a premade isn’t a guaranteed win. I just duo Q with a friend honestly.
Beats getting 1 shotted from stealth by theives while you’re stunned so you can’t do anything at all.
I just ping my vial of salt.
I’ve rarely played any games with that big of a difference this season, i mean sure it still happens, just in my own experience so far, it happens much less.
I said skill level, not rank. I couldn’t care less if i get paired with ambers, as long as they know how to play. That said though, being in sapphire, that won’t happen anyway unless they team with another sapphire.
just get ruby this season and next and you’ll be fine…. it’s only been like a day…
Finally feel like im getting paired with people in my skill level whether that be win or lose. The quality of such matches is far better i get games like 470-500 quite a lot now. Instead of my team massively destroying the enemies in a 500-200 game or them destroying my team in such a fashion.
Well done Anet, I think this matchmaking system is a keeper.
I believe everything for it can be earned besides gift of the competitor after all 4 seasons.
Rolls eyes oh no! they made something not trash tier and actually usable!!! end of the world!!! you won’t see 4 per game….stop exaggerating
Moob is an amazing guard, I couldnt even touch him when fighting him last season
dont even care, literally only doing this for the backpack, once i get it, I’m done with E sport hell
personally i liked the guild wars 1 theme of exploiting corpses to get minions
You realize u can throw any number on a spreadsheet and say you did extensive testing. I’m calling bs that a rev can even come anywhere close to 30k dps on anything less than full buffs
(edited by The one to Rule.2593)
revenant is number 4 in the dps rankings. if you combine personal dps + dps added from revenant buffs, rev needs a little buff, but “in the 3 weakest classes” isnt true at all.
L0L no, no it isn’t.
Tempest
Theif
Engineer
Guardian
Condi reaper as well as power reaper infact.
All stronger than revenant. The only things weaker than revenant is ps warr, druid, and mesmer Sorry I should have said it’s the 4th weakest class.
Even then, pretty much every class brings more to a party than a revenant. The only reason to even bring one is boon duration
(edited by The one to Rule.2593)
I don’t know which realistic buffs you were using, but there has to be something wrong if you’re getting 15k on a Herald and 40k on Tempest.
You can actually get almost 50k dps, I said 40k because that’s actually realistic. If you don’t think tempest can do 40k dps then you need to learn the class.
As for the buffs, I used fury, spotter, banners, quickness, Empower allies, assassins presence, grace of the land at 3 stacks, and might
if thats the case and you got 15k dps only on rev, then you need to learn that class too.
yeah pressing 1 and 7 on jalis hammers is so hard. plz teach me this complicated rotation. I was obviously exaggerating a little, but the point still stands. still in the 3 weakest classes

I want to build a condi necro, but I can only find newer topics about this power build. Can you share a link for the build or details on how to build it?
Metabattle.com has a condi reaper build called viper horror, it’s the main build for condi necro
Lets be clear what aspect of the game we are talking about this is pve. I know the thread mentions it but the posters doesn’t really say what aspect.
Yeap, I was asking for the pve build for now. Not sure what I’ll go for in pvp, but I’ll figure it out when I’ll get there.
Again, the build I advocated was pve
Seriously… I’m tired to say that the necromancer issue in PvE group content is it’s terrible support. All profession can be a brainless DPS, all profession have crowd control. Only the necromancer have meaningless and useless support that need encounter especialy designed to make it work.
- Vampiric skills/aura/dark field? Give me crit immun bosses and it would become great.
- Boon corruption? give me bosses that work like player, generating and relying on boons to do damage or survive.
- Debuff? (First I’d like to say that there is no way we can call this support) Give me bosses that are really affected by effect like poisoned reduced heal/weakness reduced damage/slow/chill longer cool down… etc. Breakbar is affected by some of them but not in the way they are supposed to work.
Giving encounter where boon removal is almost mandatory make the necromancer almost mandatory as well. I’d like to say that this is a good thing but it’s not. A profession should never be mandatory. Necromancer just lack support, it’s not like there ain’t tons of traits that could be bend easily to provide this. (already 4 years that I say it, I’m kinda tired)
yes I know this, which if you had read what I wrote, I have basically said the same thing already. I said " but if all you bring is power dps, then just bring an ele"
I also don’t think having professions be mandatory in certain area’s of the game is a bad thing either. There is already a boss where boonstrip is a mechanic

the build i posted was a pve build
I run condi so… Curses, death magic and reaper.
But the power build most people use i think is spite, blood magic reaper
I don’t remember them ever saying they would increase the cap. But I agree it needs to be increased.
I don’t remember them ever having a true pvp/pve split and i’ve played since release.
I remember them having full sets of pvp armor, but never a true split between skills like guild wars one had. Arena net has proven that the way they handle things, this just isn’t sustainable unless they split it. Because otherwise you end up with way underpowered/ overpowered classes.
Look at ele, it’s a god. Unkillable in pvp and almost twice the damage of any other class in pve.
Revenant, slaughters people in pvp, But is almost completely unviable for high end content in pve. This is a joke of a balance.

I’m very skeptical of being able to do over 30k dps on anything other than sabetha or trio with a condi reaper. I wouldn’t trust that screenshot.
Reaper is my main class for raiding, full ascended vipers including trinkets, and there’s no way I would come close to 50k.
Cya glad you’re jumping off the bandwagon.
lol there’s no way necro is 50k dps with anything. that’s just not gonna happen nor is it realistic. I think it’s cool that power necros aren’t as bad as I once thought though, 25-30k is great but I feel like at that point if all you bring is damage why not just go ele
(edited by The one to Rule.2593)
i got it from personal tests on golem, though i was not testing out every buff, just ones you’d realistically have
Its not just revenants. PVE mesmers have been killed, also. Actually, you can say that about a lot of the classes.
True. Mesmers were heavily gutted, but they still retain their function of providing quickness/alacrity. I know it’s not ideal to be just that but I still feel like they are better in most things (other than damage) than revenant.
I honestly feel like the only other class in the same situation is theif, everything else still retains their pve viability
Problem is they want delete rev from the game. If you can walk over something without using brain that means it is balanced. If it causes a bit of troubles to deal with the class is obviously op and need to be nerfed into ground so that they can walk over it.
Great mentality there ! Really helpful post – totally in line with the discussion. A truly powerfull argument: either it’s op, either it’s 0. Really amazing logic there.
What the warrior wanted to say to you – whining about this particular change – is that you shouldn’t be doing that. At the moment rev is a star in pvp, a very good support in pve and a normal class for wvw. It’s not in a position to complain about a relativily small nerf to the damage of a skill that already has enough utility in all the game modes.
In comparison warr doesn’t much going for him in pvp and for as long as I have been playing this game pve is all about 2 banners and gs. I’m not even allowed to swap weapons – god forbid I interrupt the might to the party. Also I have a cc – elite skill – that is inferior at breaking bars and damage. Also stuns me for a sec. And this is my meta, not a weapon used for the fun of it
The point is not that warr < rev or something like that. It’s that if everybody starts complaining there’s no end to it. Especially a class in a pretty good position overall at the moment. Funny how warriors don’t seem to be complaining about the rifle nerf, but rev’s do…
It’s a cc for god’s sake. Who came up with such a ridicoulos skill in the first place?
Lol @ good support….. You realize the only reason to bring a rev into high end content like raids is for the boon duration right? That’s as far as their support goes. Ventari is garbage and not even comparable to druid or auramancer. All the boons rev can provide are done better by other classes.
well i carried a friend who is scale 12 through scale 70 molten duo and he got a ring so…. personal level Probably doesn’t even matter.
Rings start dropping at personal reward level 10, so your statement is bunk. If you compare his rewards to yours by the end of the run you’ll notice he’ll receive around 7 relics compared to your 16 relics.
But the one he got was infused, which start at reward level 26 i thought.
well i carried a friend who is scale 12 through scale 70 molten duo and he got a ring so…. personal level Probably doesn’t even matter.
rofl revenant one of the weakest classes in terms of dps right now and people still are crying for nerf?
Nobody here is talking about PvE.
The weakest DPS class/build in the game (chronophantasma shatter) is the strongest in sPvP.
A nerf to pvp is a nerf to pve
It’s a very possible scenario in raids – the 100% alacrity uptime though. you can’t really get so I agree there. in content smaller than 10 man where you can’t get every buff it seems like condi would be better, I just found the video interesting.
