Like they did with gliders instead of actually being able to earn them in game!
And is sure being updated frequently
Lol at “updated frequently”.
By the way OP, I think you wrote “Wildstar” wrong.
We get major updates 1-2 times a month with smaller updates in between.
That’s crap. It’s not enough, it’s not acceptable. Friggen runescape is updated every 2 weeks with sizable content. Gw2 takes 2-3 months to come out with 5 hours of content. Then leaves us in a draught. When ls is over it will be another huge content draught.
They’re not the same which is why there’s a difference. I’m sure a lot of content could be added quickly for the first Legend of Zelda but take much longer for Breath of Wild.
Not if your team is the right size and you are run on a monthly sub to afford a bigger team like always should have happened
Again, the games are much different. Increasing the team size in order to increase the frequency of updates further for those that choose to blast through content the first day, and then complain about it, won’t be healthy for the game. Adding a subscription will turn away a lot of players and it certainly wouldn’t attract any.
Of course not now, but it should have launched with a sub. I’d be more than happy to pay a monthly sum for sizable content updates more frequently. The gemstone just will never be a good substitute.

Personally. I hate any kind of “zerg” whether than be people or minions, the idea of throwing a trillion rats at my enemy and they die is annoying to me. I’d rather have a couple decent pets that require some activity to control with some passive ease as far as being “minion master goes”.
If you don’t like that play a Ranger! Minions are supposed to be disposable and rather weak on their own.
Let’s not pretend ranger pets are used for anything more than Cc and fury uptime. I do agree though that minions should be about quantity over quality. However, minion builds in this game have been lack luster since release. I miss mechanics from guild wars 1 where Necro was so perfect. Exploiting corpses was so cool. Also skills like veratas sacrifice are what Necro needs. Sacrifice your own HP to heal minions. This fixed time limit is crap. We need ways to manage them ourselves
I’d be for a monthly sub TBH, so we can get content in a reasonable time
You won’t get into a raid with a power ranger
Still sweeping this under the rug are we? Nerfed the skill too harshly and unnecessarily to prevent an exploit very few of us actually abused… instead you could have just removed adrenal mushrooms from raids…
YES I am ok with 300 li for second set and so on. 25 li for an insignia per piece. I am into my third piece of second set (due to provisional token time gated for further pieces). it has to be this way or raid will die in a few months time.
I mean if you’re okay being lied to, fine by me, but I’m not. There are also other reasons people raid and constant newcomers, it won’t die regardless
They said 150 insights to make the precursor into legendary armor. They never said how many insights to make additional sets of precursors and it could’ve been 10000 magnetite shards which is worse.
There is no bait and switch and if you got baited it means you can’t read.
Oh please, it was heavily implied it would be this way for all the armor. Nice white knighting though
Im Guessing the garbage lich form nerf
“pls fix it anet” fix what? lawl!
The blatant bait and switch tactic they pulled on us? It was advertised as being 150 but it’s now 300. Are you really okay with that?
Chrono = bae. Base Mesmer = bad. More than 1 = bad
I think it’s stupid had 300 in anticipation of getting 2 sets. Only to find out I need to double my insights now. I’ve raided since release, but slacked off once I had enough and did the collections because there was no reason to repeat it again. You don’t do a collection sure, but now there’s the added gold cost of crafting the pre, that should have been enough
(edited by The one to Rule.2593)
Makes no sense, please fix it Anet. Why would you now need 300 instead of 150 is beyond me
I don’t know why people don’t like jory and kas, personally I think they are a breath of fresh air. I loved them throughout living world. I actually care about them which is kinda rare for me, who wouldn’t be upset if their lover just left without a goodbye for who knows how long? The gods thing… I think it’s good that we are moving away from the dragons personally. It opens up so many story possibilities.
I hope they step it up to at least HoT level for the new expansion. Core Tyria enemies are boring.
What about Living World map enemies? the ones in Ember bay for example.
They aren’t as weak as Core Tyria enemies but also not as tough as HoT enemies.
My hopes are that they can just find a middle ground for enemy difficulty instead of just ramping it up to maximum difficulty like in HoT.
I wouldn’t consider HoT to be maximum difficulty. Learn the mechanics or each mob and they become easier. The player base naturally gets better as they play the game so it’s not unreasonable for the difficulty to also increase.
The Difficulty of HoT enemies is considerably much more higher compared to those of Core Tyria maps.
For example the Mordrem Sniper who can 1 or 2 shot kill you if you don’t dodge at the right time.
Or the Mushrooms that always charge at you so fast that you cannot react to their attacks.
All of these enemy abilities make me as a Player feel weak and thats not so fun.
For me the problem isn’t about learning enemy mechanics because given enough time we can practice and become better but this doesn’t change the fact that HoT enemies are still overpowered to the point that 1 mis step or dodge can kill you instantly.
Compared to Core Tyria maps like Orr or Frost Gorge Sound enemies there don’t one hit kill you,
they hit and you lose little health but it gives us enough time to react to their damage. The way that the Damage is from HoT enemies right now is too unforgiving.
With heart of thorns you aren’t meant to solo mobs of enemies all at once, if you get swarmed, run. Use the terrain to your advantage. Force enemies to fight on your terms. With hot, the expectation is that you know your class and all its skills before you get to that point. If you know your skills, you know how to survive much better.
There’s no way it’s fake. Too much work went into it
Hot isn’t hard, learn to play
I should be able to get god of pvp title in pve, why am i forced to pvp to get something so prestigious????/sarcasm
Seriously though, that’s how i read the posts from all the entitled people who cry about certain things locked behind certain game modes. Every game i’ve ever played has these things and it makes the game better imo, it gives incentives to actually play those modes.
I mean even something as old as runescape has always locked certain best in slot gear behind the hardest new bosses they come out with.
Wow does it as well and Imo, there’s nothing wrong with that.
ahhh the screw over your team heart, that one is truly cancer
how dare they post a video so people know what they are spending 2500g on before they spend it!!! Seriously though, dumb complaint.
It’s relevant because if you wanted a legendary backpiece then you found one of the ways to get one, whereas with leggie armor, there is only one way to obtain one. The original founding principle of this game, was to be able to obtain any goal however you wanted to.
no it wasnt
everyone has a chance to play anything, you choose not to.
Has ANet even shown the light/Medium armors yet? If so, link please?
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/legendary-armor-is-coming-soon/
all 3 underwealming but heavy/light look decent enough, i just hope the effects/aura make it worth it
Either way….keep on fightin’ the good fight, Blaeys.
Not planning to stop anytime soon.
And -
I know from experience that I will get attacked over those comments (can probably even guess who will do the attacking), but it is something more people need to be paying attention to.
Told ya. It didnt take long for that to come true
. I see it as more reason to continue. I am not afraid of criticism or even outright hate. I was with the Navy and Marine Corps for six years. I think I’ve had worse slung at me (and have to laugh when people try to insinuate I don’t understand the meaning of hardcore
).
For the record, Im not anti raid, just believe there is much that needs to be improved.
I never attacked you. nor did I insinuate anything. I understand you raid enough, I just completely disagree with your perspective on raiding. Honestly though I don’t see why you of all people are trying to turn others off of it, when you are always talking about how easy mode will get more people into the game mode.
Realistically, you will have an EXTREMELY hard time getting into any raid groups as a pure dps mesmer – especially in pugs.
The nature of the content and how they have chosen to do raids has pretty much invalidated many builds (even some very popular ones) – and some professions pretty much outright – in that content, a direction strengthened and made worse by many in the community..
I feel like that is mostly what it has come down to and unless I play the way I’m told to build wise verse I guess the original idea of freedom of choice in build I’m not gonna get very far.
Honestly, Blaeys has a very anti raiding agenda he pushes in every single thread regarding the topic, I wouldn’t take his word on these matters. To a degree, he is right. You will be required to run certain builds to maximize group efficiency. But it’s not as extreme as he seems to think.
Nothing in this game has ever been " Run one build for everything" and that was never the intention.
However, this is nothing new, this is the same way in fractals, and even dungeons to a lesser extent.
The blog and existence of legendary armor in this single exclusionary corner of the game put to rest the idea that raids do not consume significant developmental resources (especially those outside the small raid team).
I personally would have rather seen them put the effort into the legendary armor quests they scrapped just after HOT or into designing full sets of interesting armor for living story or other more popular/accessible areas of the game.
And they should work on rune and clipping related issues for everyone – not just the blessed few who raid.
stop pushing your anti raid agenda in every single raid thread.
New to raiding main is Mes but i don’t have tanking gear and more dps gear (ferocity and such) have heard some horror stories about pugging in groups. Would I need to go tank just to play or give up even attempting to raids?
The problem is in your question Raids demand flexibility and the ability to adapt to new team comps on the fly. If you only play one class but don’t want to tank, that’s fine, but you need to have the flexibility to swap to another class more suited to a dps role.. You can raid on Mesmer but you will be required to run boon duration gear and provide your team with quickness and alacrity. Giving up the idea of raids is not the solution, gearing other toons for more flexibility is.
So in the chances I’m not really fond of the other classes then this would kind of put me in a tough spot on the flexibility issue, unless I start working on getting some tanking gear. sigh
getting full exotics is super easy….
I have no issue getting exotic, the issue would be doing it with a group of people that would be ok with it. From reading a lot on these forms and what I have seen in the game most people wouldn’t be.
im going to have legendary armor day of release, i’ve worked my but off raiding. i have over 200 li, Take it from me when i say you dont need ascended gear to beat any raid boss in the game. at most youll need an ascended weapon and trinkets. Exotic gear is perfectly fine.

How are you doing only 12K dps on a condi ranger? That’s pretty bad
How long is HOT story(average hours)?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: The one to Rule.2593
Hot is far more than just the story though, raids alone are worth.
My team always runs meters and it’s improved our runs. We are always making fun of each other when we do bad dps and then try to improve our rotations to compete with each other, of course I only raid with guildies so it’s a good time
Ur just Playing with toxic people
Their policy of developing 5 hours worth of content for 3 months of work is stupid anyway. Especially when new zones have almost no reason to go back to them
Esports are the worst thing to happen to the game. It’s good it’s over
It’s just gonna be purple animated armor with stat swap, no one in Anet has ever mentioned rune swap will be a feature
Annnnd nex is still missing the point entirely. This isn’t about pro players at all. It’s about the focus of Anet’s balancing team only being on one game mode. The game can still have it’s pro players, but pvp should never have set the standard for every other game mode.
I bet the delay is because of them wanting to release the legendary armor with it and not actually the episode itself.
As Ive stated before, there will always be people that wont get this point.
We need to step out of our “sides” and boxed in perspectives and look at this issue from the larger game wide point of view.
And, yes, forced was probably too strong a word, but the idea that raids offer reasonable accessibility for both a zerker fresh air elementalist and a hammer scrapper or monster inspired necromancer simply doesn’t hold water in the actual game. If anyone just getting into raids needs evidence of that, just go and try to pug for a few days or try to form a group of like minded individuals. I strongly encourage them to try – but I think most of us can guess the results in 9/10 cases already.
I pugged for almost all of my LI, nearly at 200 now. it’s not as bad as you seem to think.
That’s true, all I’m saying is it’s best to get some experience in the fights beforehand in my opinion before jumping into chronotank, It took me a long time to get the hang of chronotank, and when I would screw up the team suffered more than if others screwed up. Being directly responsible for a win feels amazing. But being responsible for a loss is just awful. but I do also agree with your perspective.
That’s decent advice, the only thing I’ll say about it is that chronotank carries in a lot of fights so you have to know how to play it well. Which takes time. Personally I’d start with an easier class like ele or condi ranger
Yep I’d give it up in a heartbeat
why would u guys bump a year old thread
I really don’t understand people who seem to think there’s some significant story in between boss fights. Coming from someone who has completed every raid boss. Take it from me when i say there isn’t. Every single small bit of story comes from completed instances which are easy to get into. Matthias cutscene, lazaras’s fate, and the cutscene after deimos. ALL can be seen in completed instances.
Agreed, its gotten to the point where ive just taken all my gear off my rev and moved it to secondary sets for other classes. Rev is almost unplayable. between bugs and just plain bad design, we aren’t even good buff bots anymore when all buffs we provide are given by every other class. Condi rev has ALWAYS been a joke and anet has refuse to acknowledge it. Now power rev not only can’t be a boon bot, but doesn’t even do decent dps anymore. In melee or range.
Those also though are pretty forgiving on timer. Wait til you try tackling gorseval with sub optimal gear. It’s gonna be a lot harder
