I agree with this.

I rotate my camera quite a bit while playing, and often times I end up targeting things that i would prefer not to.

Not only is that annoying…. but occasionally I right click on the “Push F to interact” bubble and end up talking to an npc or doing something dumb while simply rotating my camera.

For a targeting system that is based on your field of view… you need to rotate the camera to the desired position anyway.

Please change this, and at least give us the option to change the way the right mouse button functions with these features (targeting/interacting)

There were a lot of people who were having issues with this quest, but simply starting over usually helped some of them.

They were usually all happening in the first room, though.

Are you absolutely certain that you know where you need to go after you place your orb?

The door you need to go through is very small and is in the main chamber (near the top).

Many people mistake the mission for bugged at this point simply because they cannot find the aforementioned doorway.

You may very well be experiencing a bug, but I’d double check if I were you just in case.

Dying Twice with Vengeance

If you die and waypoint/respawn while you are under the effects of Vengeance, when vengeance does end you die again.

This often times leads to a double death, and a double hit to your armor.

Vengeance should end when you die.

If you don’t understand what i mean…

1 you get downed
2 you use vengeance
3 you get up, fight a little bit more, but end up dying before vengeance has ended
4 you waypoint, take like 5 steps and die again after vengeance wears off.

I had similar issues with the new drivers from Nvidia.
I rolled back to my old drivers, and the game worked fine.

The drivers attempted to re-install at a later date, and I noticed that while GW2 is running, if your computer attempts to update graphics drivers the install goes all haywire. Happened both times the graphics update was applied, and I reverted both times and later disabled the update.

Personally I’d say yes to ogres in lieu of centaurs for the reasons:

1) There are peaceful tribes (I’ve yet to run into any ‘collective’ friendly centaurs).
2) They train more ranger pet varieties (raptors and rock dogs!!!!)
3) They can train GIANT siege devourers (who wouldn’t want THAT as a elite racial summon?)
4) For a tribal race they are fairly intelligent (compared to grawls).
5) This race has a larger grudge against Kralkatorrik than most other npc races (due to loss of homeland to the Branded).

I still don’t like the idea of ogres.

If you look where the dragon flew off to…. and landed…. that’s Crystal Desert/Elona.

I had the hardest time choosing that race out of all of the ones I listed…. and went with it because I simply could not think of another race that was present in Guild Wars lore that would be found in that region.

That area was pretty much already desolate during GW1, with the exception of the forgotten/enchanted race (which I believe are all long gone by now)

…and centaurs. Losaru and Veldrunner are both from that region, you could even get a Veldrunner Hero.

True centaurs hate humans…. but the Charr and the humans had a pretty heated history as well… Humans are just unliked by most races.

Centaurs are also responsible for the Sylvari race, so those two are almost certain to get along..

Tengu and Kodan are both acceptable proposals in my opinion.

I say no to ogres, skritt, hylek and grawl, and quaggan as playable races.

Largos as a species, I just find to be silly, and I would prefer not to see them as a playable race.

I would really like to see some sort of lore/an expansion where all of the Dwarves that were once turned to stone during the battle of the Great Destroyer are shown to be re-instated as living.
It is sort of upsetting to let such a valuable civilized race just evaporate from GW lore.

I hope that when the new content for Primordus is released they also bring back the Dwarves somehow. …and I still have hope since Ogden still exists, although stone.

I think that with every new expansion, it would be a good idea to add a new race.
Expansion + race combos as follows:

Jormag (Icebrood) + Kodan
Unnamed Sea Dragon (yet to be seen) + Tengu
Primordus (Destroyers) + Dwarves
Kralkatorrik (Branded) + Centaur (Veldrunner)

You have millions of people willing to help you guys make this the best game of all time.

Why not recruit beta testers and run each patched version on a different server until all the kinks are worked out?

I’m sure you would have a line of people miles long willing to beta test for you.

You can outright melee all the seals you have previously destroyed in the event of a party wipe.

There is no need whatsoever to gain skill 4 on the hammer to damage a seal you have already destroyed once.

Personal Story bug - Fort Trinity

Yeah, the problem is that you are at the Vigil Keep. You need to travel to Fort Trinity on foot or by waypointing (if you have already been there)

Your quest marker is leading to the Asura gate at the Vigil keep, which appears to be inaccessible, and that should be fixed to clear up some confusion.

Confirmed. This is very noticeable on Ranger sword 1, with auto-attack on.

Often times, you are attacking so quickly that your dodge roll just doesn’t happen at all.

This happens quite a bit, and is especially noticeable against the Jade Maw boss, since you are constantly picking up bundle items, but can also be replicated with any bundle item.

this happens quite a lot and is really frustrating…. but can usually be cured with a gap-closer/blink skill. Often times you don’t have such a skill readily available to get you free, and must wait on a recharge or leave combat an equip such a skill.

I don’t think you need to speak with the guard to gain entry….. Can you take a screen of where you are attempting to enter the fort?

Since the game’s release I have been using the Auto-targeting feature.

Often times the game will target enemies/objects almost randomly or as they enter the field of view. If a boss or an object spawns a creature, the newly spawned creature is usually auto-targeted.

While fighting enemies, often times I will randomly target a nearby ally, for no apparent reason.

While using leap/gap finisher skills, sometimes I will target a different foe than the one I intended to engage.
(Best example I can give is the Ranger Sword #2, which rolls you backwards, then follows up with a leap toward a target. While fighting multiple enemies, there is a pretty good chance, that you will end up leaping to a different enemy than the one you started on if you rotate your camera, or the enemy moves from its original position.)

After getting fed up with the way the game chooses targets for me, I decided to try out the game with auto-targeting off.

I found that having auto-targeting off was just as bad if not worse than using auto-targeting, since it was so difficult to select/target enemies.

Just now, in an spvp match, I was being downed by a foe, and was unable to target him with the “target nearest enemy” key, click him… or even target him in any way.

In that same match, with auto-target off, I had an enemy targeted, was battling him, he walked around the backside of me, and the game dropped the target. I rotated the camera around to face him, and was unable to target him at all (again with target nearest foe button or clicking). He got away, because I was auto-attacking air.

Why is the targeting system based on your field of view anyway? There could be an enemy right next to you, but since you don’t have the camera rotated in the proper direction you cannot target it half the time?

I’m really getting frustrated with this.

Are people seriously complaining that others are doing things on an increased difficulty level? …and wanting players who are experienced on their teams?

You can do Tier one over and over again if it gets too hard for you.

Do you also complain about the PvP rank system, and how you “can’t get in a group” because nobody wants to pvp with someone without any pvp rank or experience?

Suggestion: Implement roster for Fractals

Similar to the way SPVP tournaments require a roster to enter, the Fractals dungeon should implement a similar roster. This way when someone disconnects for any reason, they are able to re-join the team as long as they were on the original roster.

This has caused countless headaches for me, because someone always seems to disconnect, and my team ends up having to 4-man the dungeon, then repeat the difficulty level if we want to continue playing with that person. The last straw was when it happened to me after Windows Update forced a restart on me at the end of the third dungeon literally less than two minutes before achieving the next rank of difficulty.

Now, I’m a level behind everyone else who i have been playing with all day.

I just used a calculator to add up the achievement points listed in each one of my tabs and it comes to 2039…. So the addition is wrong, for one. 2039 is not 1681 (which it says I have) … and that is not including any of the daily points, monthly points, the salvage points, the transmutation points, which you cant see on the tabs.

Its pretty clear that somehow you lose your attunement.

I’m sure its easily fixed by swapping attunements until they figure out what is wrong.

I’ve posted this in the bug forum after confirming this with a guildie on her necromancer… If you want to try it out for yourself…. just use well of blood near an enemy that does not have full hp (I’m pretty sure you need at least 15 points in blood magic as well)

When you are scaled down past a certain point, every time you “steal life” from an enemy you are actually giving the enemy health.

Well of Blood also heals enemies as well as allies.

The easiest way to test this out for yourself is to go to an area where you are downscaled pretty low and use a well of blood near an enemy that does not have full hp (with at least 15 points in your blood magic tree.)

If you are completely spec’d into the blood magic tree, and have the “Wells also siphon health from enemies” trait, you will notice that you heal the enemies for a LARGE amount of health each time the well pulses.

My autoattacks which are supposed to steal life actually just give the enemy health instead. Although I clearly outdamage the minor heal with the damage from the autoattack itself…. its still clearly in the wrong direction.

How has noone noticed this yet?

please, before you even say things like “green numbers are heals on you” etc. The enemy has no self heal…. why then would his health go up as my well pulses? Check the last 3 screens i posted. The enemies are clearly regaining health with each well pulse.

So, I finally hit 60 on my necromancer, and I bought the book that lets me get the tier 3 traits… and I wanted to test out the “Wells Siphon Health” trait with well of blood…

Guess what I realized?

My well of blood is now healing enemies??? WTF!

But it gets better… when i removed the trait… i realized that WTF the WELL ALWAYS HEALED ENEMIES…

Then I realized that THE ENEMIES ALSO GAIN HEALTH WHEN I USE THE INHERANT BLOOD TRAIT THAT IS SUPPOSED TO GRANT ME LIFE STEALING…

PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP!

I’m giving the enemies back a little bit of HP every time I autoattack them!

I just wanted to say thank you to the people who created this wonderful game.

I just got totally sidetracked for over an hour climbing an enormous tree in Mount Maelstrom. At first it seemed impossible, but I kept at it, getting higher and higher, little by little. Although there was no prize waiting for me at the top, and no loot or achievement waiting for me, I felt like I was truly the king of the world.

Thank you for making our environments completely explorable and fun to play in.

Guild Wars 2 has been an amazing experience so far, and I just wanted to let you know that I truly appreciate it.

Permanently Stowing Away Pet

I used to think this was a dumb idea at first, but i agree with this entirely.

Two places where this really aggravated me were CoF path 3.
For those of you who have not done it, you need to split your team up and all of you need to light 5 torches simultaneously. There is a group of 3 enemies that respawn on the torch shortly after they are killed. Knowing that there is a huge danger of aggro-ing surrounding mobs, I put my pet on passive. I’m normally spec’ed into Beast mastery pretty deep as far as my build goes so I’m already at a loss. So everyone kills two of their enemies, and weakens the final enemy and waits for the signal…. everyone ready? yes? yes? yes? no. there goes my pet just doing the random wandering thing that it does sometimes, and it wanders right into another enemy. No big deal… It’s only a little further out into the room, I’ll just kill it in a few seconds…. WTF! My pet just aggro’d 2 more things by wandering around WHILE ON PASSIVE. This has proven to be VERY FRUSTRATING, since there is literally nothing i can do except hope that my pet stays put during these times.

Another example is doing the griffonrook jumping puzzle with the bomb.

Never in my life have I given up on something in a videogame, and after about 50 deaths and over 100 tries later I finally made it to the end chest with a bomb. If you get hit while holding the bomb by any of the numerous griffons littering the jumping puzzle, it detonates and you need to start over. Okay…. so being in combat while doing a jumping puzzle can totally screw with you…. let me stow my pet and put it on passive (just in case) if i get hit I need to start over anyway, so there is no danger of my pet coming back out, right? wrong. This jumping puzzle involves taking a lot of fall damage…. and can you guess what happens to a stowed ranger pet when you take fall damage? sure as the sunrise in the morning the pet comes out and gets clobbered with a griffon, putting me in combat until i can petswap. That usually means I need to make the next difficult jump, avoiding griffons, while I am in combat unless I make it to a safe spot.

Let us permanently stow the pet, or at least make it invisible to enemies when it is on passive.

Honestly, i think that the little bit of damage done with attacks can be made up for with your interrupt skill, and then your counterattack.

Nothing like swooping in, using hilt bash, setting up for a counter attack, and then swapping over to sword + axe for whirling D while they are dazed…. stack 12 vulnerability, roll around with hornet sting, monarch leap and then the rolly polly poison attack (i forget the name) and then switching back to greatsword and doing it all over again… you baically never get hit by anything just for using your skills.

Nothing like counter attacking an ettin’s charged stomp and watching everyone else around you get thrown 20 feet while you are still in there kicking the ettin’skitten

Word. My Character is called Bjorn the Bear…. he has a bear pet (ranger) and a bear minipet. and you better believe that the elite skill i use is become the bear.

I really do wish they made it so that my animal companion stayed active while in transformation, tho.

It gets annoying losing my bloodlust and master’s bond stacks just for using my elite skill. Also…. not being able to use your utility skills is somewhat of a bummer also…

But that will never stop me from rampaging around in bear mode!

Yeah, i turned off my auto-attack for this purpose…. I found it too difficult to dodge or roll out of anything or even walk away from an enemy, since my character would just not stop attacking…. CTRL + right click skill one to disable autoattack during these times.

10/10. People were facerolling elite dungeons and reaping the rewards. If you can join a pug, regardless of party composition, and get dungeon rewards by facerolling, then the dungeon rewards become worthless.

I enjoy the game while I can do dungeons regardless of party composition and just hang out with friends with no stress from party composition.
Not “Oh I’m a mage I cannot join this since I’m not welcomed in this dungeon. Oh I’m a warrior I cannot join that since there are too much warriors.” anymore please.

BTW, elite dungeons should be rewardful. I am not a hardcore player so i need to spend gems on repair cost now? NO Fxxkxxg way!

I’m not sure what you mean by spending gems on repair costs, but aside from that…
Party composition is a HUGE factor in strategy… Regardless of what profession you are running, you can change your build and specs to become a “team” and not just individuals. In guild wars 2, the classes are all fairly balanced to the point that any number of players of the same profession are welcome on a team, as long as they are working together… You can only stack conditions and things up to 25, so why apply more? If everyone is running bleed stacks, you are going to get nowhere fast. Coordinate, strategize, and work as a team to accomplish your goal…. facerolling should be eliminated entirely.

Eboz, once you reach level 30 you unlock your elite skill slot. At that point, you can choose one of the elite skills which you would like to unlock using skill points. After you unlock the skill, you are ready to use it. The “animal forms” are only available as elite skills to the Norn race.
