5 months ago, Evan Lesh confirmed that Team X is based on the first person to join the team. I don’t know if things have changed since then (esp since Evan did not comment on it just now), but that’s how it is.
Should still be the case.
It’s pretty clear that Team X’s MMR it is not only the MMR of the first person to join the team. Right?
You know how at the beginning of the actual game it says like Team Therodin VS Team PieceofMeat? That is what he is saying. the team name is based on who enters the map first.
This is ridiculous, if you don’t like the long passwords, then set a short one, and deal with the consecuencies.
They said a suggestion, but the decission is yours.
The decision is not ours. you are not allowed to make a bad password. You can not even make the same password as any of the other players. I have two accounts and they even had to have different passwords.
Did you already get the map completion chest for that map? they constantly add pois and waypoints and hearts to old maps. it will lower your percentage down past 100%
1.) I can sell 13 items in the Black Lion Trading Company then I have to “wait”….Really!? I have 5 20 slot bags and I an only clear 13 items?
It is NOT 13 items. It is also not a bug. It is intended and working as intended. It works so that bots have trouble botting the tradepost. So the mechanic is important. As usual with anti-botting mechanics, it is not discussed how it works publically (otherwise botwriters could circumstance it better). But more or less it is like this (numbers fictional cause that is the unknown part).
The time out is hit based on the time between listing items. Everytime you list something you get e.g. 5 points. Every second not selling anything a point is removed. whenever you hit e.g. 50 points, you get the error and have to wait till you drop below the 50 points again (and it is actually better to wait for a good amount of time till it resets.
The best way to circumstance this is either selling in parts, or taking more time between sales. I’m often selling while chatting. I do that inbetween and never got issues.
2.) Your password system is terrible…I never know what my password is because your system is far far far far far far far far far too restrictive. I thing its “monkey purple wrench pool” right now. So easy to remember!
The password system is perfect and to be honest, you shouldn’t need to remember your password. Mine is stored in my GW1 jewel case, which is stored in my bookcase in my home.
I live alone and I trust my visitors. If someone breaks in my home I doubt they will do so to steal my GW2 password. If you can’t trust the people with whom you live, then I think there are more important reasons to get a locked cashbox to safe important papers in like your list of passwords.
The password system is complicated so that your account doesn’t get hacked i nthe first place. Take security serious!
Your password is so complicated that you have to write it down and you don’t think that kind of defeats the purpose? If it has to be that complicated that it needs to be written down and almost never entered why not just give each player like 25 random numbers and letters and make them use that as a password?
What if they added fractal armor in the place of some of those ring drops? Oh and you know invented super cool fractal armor that upgraded like the backpiece….
I just want a staff that doesn’t look like rainbow stick
You can buy it with gold transferred into gems though! That’s what i did.
People who often do fractals feel very sorry for you my friend.
If your looking for something to do until SAB gets rereleased in 2018, buying new character slots has been pretty fun for me
im learning to pvp with every class so i can swap in the beginning to the bets option vs my opponents!
LFG tool can be used for random things around the world right? like mapping and junk? Well you have to be in a group to use another person’s home instance. So you are looking to form a group with people who will pay to use your home instance. How is it different from selling dungeons?
But mapping as a group is doing content together. Fighting together. Deciding what direction to go into as a group.
And it doesn’t take much effort or skill to have home instance nodes. It takes effort and skill to be able to solo or duo some of the harder paths in dungeons. And they have to have the last boss still standing in order to sell the dungeon so you have to fight together to finish the dungeon.
It doesn’t take much effort to kill to final boss either. If they soloed or duoed a path up to the final boss a party is no longer required. It’s basically saying, pay us to bring your uplevel toon so we can kill to boss for you type deals. I don’t see the difference.
Maybe to guys advertising their home instance should just change the way they advertise. “Selling a spot for a gathering party cause it’s more fun gathering together”
Killing the final boss is still doing content together. Gaile never put a “You must intend to do content for X time together to put your group on the LFG.” in the rules.
And no matter what they put on the LFG, if it becomes known as the euphemism for selling access to the home nodes, they will get reported for LFG abuse.
Do you think that’s right though? that selling home instances is against the rules on the lfg but dungeons are fine?

Is selling access to your home instance against the rules? or specifically using the lfg tool for it?
At 50 pages lets start a support group
Wait, why is selling home instances a no-no? to be clear it sounds to me like you pay me 1 gold and i let you mine/collect all the things in my home instance that day.
Get hyped guys! The rioting and complaining when it turns out to not be true will be good exposure for sab.
I support this as well
The princess of SAB was moto in a dress. That is all <3
I have never thought of this but i would love it. I would love to know how many fractals ive ran.
Points 1 to 3 are coming in HoT.
Please elaborate on 4.
5, I’m certain there will be more tournaments!
WOAH WOAH WOAH, What makes you think SAB is going to become permanent content in HOT? Also i believe by number four he meant the activites (sanctum sprint, keg brawl, southsun survival) Would be really fun to do just with friends or guildmates with the achievements disabled. It is currently not possible to play with your friends or guildies in those activities unless the system puts you two or seven together randomly.
Hot release date set for april 1 2016, Hot turns out to just be SAB W1,2,3, and 4.
I saw only one person has suggested it so far so ill reiterate that the fractal backpiece is really cool and can’t be bought so i feel like it still has some prestige. Good bit of grinding to get it to look nice though.
This definitely did happen and i was also surprised by it. I assumed it would be four different classes every day.
Guy’s not only did we get a soon but it was a kind of pokemon sounding reference? #LaurenForQueenOfTheForums2015
So i haven’t play gw2 in awhile and i was looking around before HOT (whenever that will come out) and see this old thread and trying to figure out why SAB isn’t in the game. Well i think the reason is quite simple its money or cost of sever space for it, after playing for 2 years+ and being mostly pve player i notice how the game developers minimize everything they can inside the game and when the make something to increase efficiency of the game profit/revenue.
I don’t blame developers for cutting slices of cake from the game only doing what they are told to help the game be as profitable as it can be with reduced cost in development and after it. What i am getting to is that SAB isn’t in the game because it will cost extra money for server maintenance without increasing the revenue to Anet, and they couldn’t or didn’t figure a way to increase their income from the gem store with SAB related item in a steady flow as long as it is up (permanently), more than it cost to have the mini game online.
While i do understand they want to be make as much money as possible this is a slap in the face for everyone who want to enjoy the game. You may call me tinfoil hat lunatic ,but the amount of content released make me believe that SAB is out of the game because it cost a lot of money to keep private instance for as many player that play SAB currently (beside the starting hub).
The best way to bring SAB back is to think how Anet think on how to make a profit. I don’t expect to see new world soon but just having the old ones with tribulation mode can add dozens of hours to the game with grinding all the weapon skins. On how to do this i am yet sure , this is why i am saying my opinion here and hoping other want SAB back and we can think together on a way to resurrect it from the pixel tomb.
One last note to Anet. I am not attacking you or your methods, but i am just being honest with myself and other players i am here to enjoy playing the game ( or will again) and i want what i like most back.
~phew that was long , do leave a message after the text wall.
If that were true then they would have removed dungeons from the game long ago. Thanks for the input though! People talking about sab is better than people ignoring it. There have been some pretty good suggestions already in this thread about how to monetize sab. The minis, selling W3 as a gemstore purchase, Selling something that lets you always access sab like with the captains airship pass.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Hall-of-Monuments-Update/page/4#post5113684 In this posting a red said We’re close, seriously.
I wonder to what level they are going to fix it. Like im sure they will remove the titles. and the hom points, but what about the 400ish achievement points? and the rewards that most players got from achievement chests from those points…Some people have suggested that the next 400 points those players earned basically don’t count but that would really discourage me from going for achievements… which is mostly all i am doing lately.
Seeing as colin said sab is coming back can we have some info when ?
Not until after HoT.
And you can assume that LW3 is coming after the expansion => No SAB in 2015 probably.
And of course we can not have sab during LWS3 because that would not fit in with the living story. Luckily im sure the plant dragon will take a quick break for holidays.
Poison affects revive.
The revive skills heal a percent of health each tick, usually 100% over the course of their effect. If your ally is low on health and poisoned, they only get healed by 67%, which isn’t enough to rally them.
This is also true with agony from fractals.
There is no need to post anything anymore. They said the fix was coming along with something big… probably the HoT release (or the trait rework before that maybe).
So from Arenanet’s point of view they’ve done everything that they wanted to do and said everything they deemed necessary to say.
You won’t make any progress by posting because they will just ignore it like they do it with every other post too (except that this one will be fixed at least).
So you just assume everything they say is true?
That said, in a situation like this on 300 employees it’s easy to imagine that they have something like:
150 working on assets for the next game
50 doing maintenance, fixing bugs and customer support
50 managing the teams
50 doing the expansion, the gem content, and everything related to the content of GW2I could be totally wrong, but this is what I think is going and why even something as obvious as putting SAB back (without adding new content) seems completely impossible: They probably just don’t have any margin left to do anything outside of the job that needs to be done for HoT.
Basically there is nobody at Anet to answer our request with actual results.
This is definitely not how a game company is broken up, also they definitely have people whose only job is actually to be able to answer these. It’s just that the answer they have to give is the same as the one we already have.
yeah but someone somewhere made the decision to not work on SAB right? They either decided that they wouldn’t make enough money or that there were not enough people that cared about it, right? So i think the point of all of us complaining and giving out ideas on how to monetize this is to try to convince those people that they made the wrong choice.
No, what they decided is that they have a series of things they want to get taken care of before SAB. Previous to initiating the expansion they could have put the SAB team on SAB. Instead they probably have the SAB team start the work on the expansion. As the living world teams completed their work on their specific updates they each got transitioned to the expansion work. The only team left is the one that is working on re-rearranging the personal story and redesigning the trait system. Once that feature patch is completed it’s unclear what those guys will be set to do, but I guarantee it’s not going to be SAB.
It isn’t a matter of saying, ok, we’re not doing SAB anymore. They’ve prioritized the expansion above everything else and are using all of their assets on that goal. Once it’s ready they can reorganize their people into a position that would allow for SAB, it just hasn’t happened yet, and won’t happen for a while.
Whatever the decision was, they made a decision that is making it so we do not get to play sab. What is the problem with trying to tell them that that decision is a bad one?
Nothing, though it’s unclear if it’s actually a bad decision. It’s a decision that we don’t like the immediate outcome of, but it may be a necessary decision for the company that would have more dire outcomes if they didn’t uphold it. Because, again, the decision is not to do SAB or to not do SAB. The decision is what to do, right now, instead of SAB and when to get back to SAB in the future.
“Because, again, the decision is not to do SAB or to not do SAB. "
So with that you are saying that you believe there is not a single person at arenanet who could decide to start working on sab tomorrow? Are you intentionally missing the point? Doing SAB right now is not on the table. It has never been on the table. There is no one at ANet who could, would nor should say, “Forget what you’re doing on the expansion, do SAB right now.” That is an absurd scenario.
That is why do it or not isn’t the decision being made.
Why are you so sure? I speculate because i don’t get to sit in at the anet meetings.
another day, still no fix, still no ranger pets or skins
There isn’t a need to post things like that. There is no promise of it being any day. In short, it will be ready when it’s ready, and they will announce it.
GM have said that A definite time to complete the repair work?
No. We will not have a time until it is ready to release.
Why is there not a need to post things like that? What if they say they are working on a fix but really can not spare the work from HOT for it. But if enough people complain they will realize that it is important to get it done sooner?

I believe he is talking about how if you make a group too many times ina row on the lfg it suppresses you for a time.
Like one minute at the time i posted xD i assumed it would be an automatically generated email and therefore instantaneous. I will gladly wait a day before assuming i put in the wrong email and sending another ticket. My issue is not really time important.
Hey i just submitted a ticket and i thought i was supposed to get an email just saying some general stuff like ticket #xxxxxx was received and will be dealt with in time blah blah. But i havent gotten any email saying that, so am i supposed to get an email? Or will they just send me one when they have something to say about the subject of that ticket? I only ask because the lack of a confirmation email is making me worry that i mistyped my email address..
Someone on another post had what i felt like was a very good point, he said that they should just turn the merchant back on and let everyone (deserving and undeserving) get whatever skins they want and then since they are already working on a tool to recognize and remove achievement points/titles from those that did not deserve them(That is what they are doing right now to fix the problem), They should just also make that same tool able to remove skins and mini’s and pets.(all the things i believe you are able to get with hom points from the vendor) It would probably take longer to make the tool but then at least the people who deserve the rewards will be able to get them now.
Id rather wait so those that didnt earn them cant use them period Im waiting too so i can get my ranger pets. But ya know what, id rather wait than have more players running around with stuff they didnt earn.
Why? Theres already people running around with titles they didnt earn? And theres more then likley going to be more people effected by not having access then people who are going to use the skins that didnt earn them.
To top that off, anet could kindly ask them NOT to get the skins, and threaten bans or such if they do use them without having earned them.
Honestly, I would not mind waiting a few weeks, or a few days.. or even a month if someone would just tell us WHEN they THINK that this will be resolved, as opposed to saying “were working on it” and leaving us in the dark. Working on it and its almost done? Working on it and barley scratched the surface? Working on it but is gonna take years? Working on it but its gonna take another week?.. Something.
Its been months as is, and we’ve had nothing to go on besides there “working on it”
5 years from now they could still be working on it, i’m sure you will be a lot less patient then. In a game where skins are everything, this is the equivalent to a heroic dungeon in WoW being down for an undisclosed amount of time. Granted that Anet is no where near as big as Blizzard, the reference was only to make a point. Guildwars is all about skins and making yourself look cool. Theres no gear grind, theres no gear treadmill, its all for skins. If you busted your kitten up until now and the second you were about to make your legendary just happened to be the second the mystic forge was disabled… Im sure you would be like “Okay, whatever..” the first day.. a bit more miffed after the first week.. annoyed after the first month.. and then as months and months pass im sure you would be kittened you were so close.. sitting on all the stuff you need to have that legendary, watching all your friends have it and you dont, when you know you should.
Im empathetic to those who might be offended by people running around using things they didnt deserve. It would upset me too, really It would.
But im more upset that I cant use something I’ve earned, then how upset I would be if someone else had it. I can be more patient having it myself and waiting for them to have it removed, then I can be patient waiting for it to be fixed eventually where no one has it.
Most people on this side of the argument do not seem to have thought it through very well but this guy’s point is very valid.

No it wouldn’t, because they cannot enable the HoM rewards until every single account has been corrected. As for the number of complaints besides the HoM not being accessible, who will still know who legitimately earned the titles from GW1 until all have been fixed?
Nothing will change until every account has been corrected, and the HoM is reactivated, so no, it would not reduce the number of those complaining.
To clarify in case this is a point of confusion. They are not going to manually apply skins, etc., that people have earned in gw1 and didn’t have unlocked in gw2 yet, or earned since.
edited for clarification.
So when you said “In short, they had to choose between finding a million needles in a million haystacks, or create an entire army to do it, both of which would take a very long time.” The finding a million needles in a million haystacks was not referring to individually going account by account and giving people the skins they are supposed to have?
I JUST got 2 more points in HOM. :< I want my Kitty, and Fiery Dragon Sword.
So do many others. and I’ll have to redirect you to the post above yours >.>
They are working on it, it’s not a simple fix as has been said many times. In short, they had to choose between finding a million needles in a million haystacks, or create an entire army to do it, both of which would take a very long time. Of course creating the army means it can be used in the future for a much much faster fix.
I feel like you missed an option. They could have found the million needles in the million haystacks and then after this problem was fixed make the army to fix the next problem they cause. It would have taken twice the effort but the playerbase would have been made happier faster.
That would take twice the work, twice the time, twice the expense, for no real gain in speed to get the complaint resolved, therefore that option wasn’t missed, it was rejected as a pure waste. Not to mention the likelihood of screwing up much more by manually editing all of those fields and bytes in each row… just no. It would not be any faster. It may be possible they could do both at the same time, and are, but omg the risk of screwing everything up… No, making the tool to fix it is far safer, and would most likely be faster.
There would be a huge increase in speed for getting the complaint resolved, if it was done by hand on a person to person basis. The entire complaint probably would not get solved any faster but each day the number of people who were complaining would decrease.
That said, in a situation like this on 300 employees it’s easy to imagine that they have something like:

These people are all ignoring your problem and suggesting other places for you to go to which you should also do. But as to your problem my friend who was going for the explorer achievements recently had the exact same problem. She was missing one thing in two of the explorer areas and looked at an online guide and tried some common ones. After finding one that popped up discovered and gave her exp and all that she did not get the achievement. i told her to keep trying and eventually after discovering a few more she got the achievement. So my guess is that the counter is messed up for some reason.
oh sab, where art thou?
You misunderstand, that would all take at most a week. The positive posts would burn out within the first page after the statement, the negative posts and subsequent arguments would go on for a couple pages before business as usual.
Even assuming your prediction was accurate, it doesn’t justify ANet’s behaviour. They’re providing a bad customer service. Just because actually providing a good customer service might not please everyone, that doesn’t somehow alleviate them from that responsibility.
It would take ten minutes for someone who knows what is going on to post here letting us know. That would appease a large number of their customers, and in particular the ones who bought the infinite continue coin who are not receiving a service they paid money for. Even if it doesn’t solve every problem in the world, its common decency.
And if the answer is, “Nothing has changed as of the previous answer.” Would you be satisfied? How often do they need to “update” us, regardless of what the answer is, for acceptable “customer service?” It isn’t customer service, by the way. They don’t actually owe us an answer, regardless of how much you might want one. They don’t owe us anything, regardless of whether or not you feel gipped for a purchase that would eventually effectively time out. That’s why I bought it with gold instead of cash.
“nothing has changed since the previous answer” is bad customer service when the last answer also didn’t give us any good information. Good not being information that specifically said SAB was coming back but information that told us anything. “SAB will come back at some point” is not helpful information. If they can’t give us a date becuase they don’t know, thats fine with me but i would appreciate it if someone said this is why we can’t bring back W1 &2. We speculate it’s because updates since its release might have rendered it unplayable or broken in some way but we don’t even know that for sure.
but there is something new fractal related coming with the adventure/mastery system. And the fractal armor was talking about in the fractal cdi, so maybeeee? (but not)
Nothing too fancy but something to keep up slightly interested in the current game, as it stands now… Cuz frankly it’s becoming stale…. FAST!
YES!!! You get what I mean!
Many of my friends quit the game and are waiting for the expansion… I feel so alone at the moment !!I just want something new to do while we wait!!
Totally with you on this mate, I saw your post (which we may get merged lol). It is such an obvious move and I actually got quite excited when I logged in today… but then I realised there was no new content… other than a few NPC’s and scaffolding… which was really disappointing.
As I said in my OP, I’m not moaning about the rebuild itself cuz I’m excited to see what the new LA will look like and look forward to seeing all my favourite places fixed up and made better. Just a shame we couldn’t be more involved in the ever changing world where:
“OUR ACTIONS AFFECT THE WORLD AROUND US” #justsayin’
That’s what Anet said from the start… now our actions don’t mind the slightest difference cuz the NPC’s are doing it all…. Which is lame.
Yes people can argue that in previous chapters we did events to raise the funds, but I’m pretty sure that even if no-one did those events we would still see the same results… Therefore our actions mean “Squat”. The world is changing regardless of what we do, so our actions are meaningless…
Would have been nice to actually assist in building LA again, at least it would feel like we were actually changing the world (even though it’s quite clear we are not).
+1
I agree that that answer seemed unnecessarily snarky.
That’s cool and all but… close those soul windows on your face and imagine this….. Upgradeable… FRACTAL ARMOR? Just like how the back piece had multiple stages with noticeable differences and ended awesomely! 6 pieces of fractal armor all upgradeable 2-4 times?! Finally something else to spend your pristine fractal relics and regular fractal relics on? Sadly it is unlikely to be done with how small the fractal community is but man wouldn’t that be something?
