Protect Beetle Hatchlings (Achieve)

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Tiger Ashante.1792

I’ve been trying to complete all the Nuhoch events for a mastery point, but the one in the title eludes me. For a while now, i’ve been trying to get to that event but always miss it.

Finally today, I get there (i thought in time). Defend the Beetle Larvae which according to the achievement hints, it’s the very first in the list and the one i need is supposed to be 2nd. It was an annoying event with just me there and the 2 big froggies (one was dead when i got there but i rezzed him as soon as i could) and the chak just kept coming and coming. Finally it was over and another event popped up immediately back at the village, so i raced to it, thinking it was the one i need, only to find it was the 3rd event in line, one where u transform into a frog and herd the beetle hatchlings into the pens. I’ve already done that event numerous times and just to be sure, i consulted the achievements again and yep, it was the 3rd one.

So i’m wondering, what happened to the 2nd event “Protect the Beetle Hatchlings”? It should have been next in order after defending the larvae but it never occurred. Am i missing something here, or is this event bugged? If anyone could enlighten me i’d appreciate it thanks.

Legendary weapons

Tiger Ashante.1792

Hi all,

In the upcoming Spring 2016 Quarterly Update, we’ll launch the new legendary short bow, Chuka and Champawat. The team outdid themselves on this one. This new precursor journey takes you through a memorable experience inspired by a real-world story, and the bow you craft at the end is the perfect commemoration of that journey. I hope you all check it out.

Last year we talked about plans to gradually build out a second set of legendary weapons through live content updates. That’s a big responsibility. We have a team of six developers working on that, who could work on it for years to come.

As game director I have to make tough trade-offs. One thing I believe is that we have to focus on the core game first before taking on additional responsibilities. I wrote in the Guild Wars 2 Design Manifesto in 2010 that our vision was to create a living, dynamic world, where there’s always something to do. Let’s ensure we succeed on that front.

So, after shipping Chuka and Champawat, I’ve asked that we indefinitely suspend work on new legendary weapons. This team of developers will instead shift their efforts back to Living World style content, building new journeys and events for everyone to participate in.

I know this will be a controversial decision. I’ll hang out with you here on the forums for a little while today to discuss it. And I’m always available by email.

Mo

Mo and rest of Anet staff, happy Easter and I hope you’re managing to find some nice moments during the holiday.

But for goodness sake, why did you announce this now Mo? Why didn’t you wait till at least after April patch to give players some good news first, or even till closer to LWS3? It may have softened the blow for those disappointed with this decision.

As someone already mentioned in one of the many threads on this issue, in hindside, I think you guys overextended yourself creating a crafting method and a “journey” for the old Leg Weaps. You really should have left them as they were and only focused on the new ones. Had you done that, I have no doubt you would have been able to ship them all with Hot not just 3 at a time. You could have always revisited the old weapons later and added a crafting method to those as you found time.

However, what’s done is done and i think it would go along way if you at least reassure the players they will get rest of the weapons at some point, if that is the case. It may calm them down, as at the moment, many are thinking they will never be released.

OP i really like your idea, as long when we go back in time it’s not all in sepia colour lol.
Some other good ideas too, but if it was done as OP suggests, nothing really would have to be changed much and everyone could replay the content as it was, even fighting Scarlet on Breachmaker, with only having to add a way to go back in time. And technology is already there for that as well, as we do go back in time to the old Lion’s Arch in one of the Personal Story, they would just have to perhaps modify it to include the entire LWS1 into it.

It’s hard to pick one, i got a few, but one that’s been driving me crazy for a long time now, is when they hide away ur mini at events or when ur gliding and then never un-hide it.

Oddly, this only happens to my main acct that owns HoT, never on my 2nd acct that doesn’t. Ofc, gliding wouldn’t affect my 2nd acct since i don’t have the expansion on it, but even when minis are hidden at events, they always pop back up on this acct.

To provide more information. This is done by using the Captain’s Airship pass while on the airship. The NPCs become combat targets you can attack. Melee hits nudge them and I’ve seen people moving them up to the banker.

In addition, if you engage in combat with them, all waypoints in the zone become contested forcing you to zone out be it waypoint or walking.

Going to record a video for further detail.

My voice is low in the video but it shows the exact bug nonetheless.

Come to think of it, i recall seeing this guy attacking Miani there on the airship about 2 days ago, may have been right after the patch. He was kinda annoying with spamming his attacks but i saw Miani move form her position. Tbh, i wasn’t sure what to think of that, thought it was a glitch of some kinda, but I asked him if he was crazy spamming his attacks like that on an NPC and he just replied, ‘hmmm’ but stopped doing it after that.

All the crafting NPC’s (except the Jeweler and Artificer ones) on capt airship, are bunched very close around the banker since the 3/22 patch, making it very difficult to interact with the right ones, especially the banker.

Can we Please have less chaotic events?

Tiger Ashante.1792

Lot of you seem to be focusing on my bad internet, rather than the substance of the events that is the main focus of this thread. I’m used to bad lags at these events, well as much as one can get used to them. The fact is the hectic nature of these events and requirements of 50-100 ppl or more to do them in themselves creates these internet issues. Never the less, i only mentioned lags as a btw. My main concern is the chaotic nature of these events that have very little meaning, when one questions why they’re doing them and why they’re there in the first place.

Most of the bosses, have no background or personality, or reason to be there. They just appear from nowhere and are big HP punch bags surrounded by 100’s of mobs that spawn with no particular pattern or reason other than to keep the players busy and make the whole event appear epic.

I’m not the one who coined the phrase “gw2 is one big cluster kitten” and i can’t disagree with that tbh. I’ve often heard streamers on twitch refer to it as such and being the main reason why they don’t play and can’t get into gw2.

The thing is, when they do add some mechanic to these events, they tend to go overboard with them. They expect players to do too much in a short time in such a hectic set up. Often times, people are left frustrated trying to achieve even some simple tasks, as there are too many mobs that use annoying overdone CC’s, purely designed to stop you completing those tasks. So the design ideology seems to be, not for you to enjoy the sequence of the event, have some fun, interesting lore/story behind it to actually make u care, but totally frustrate you in attempting to accomplish the given tasks in the event. I don’t find most of these events fun, but an extreme frustrating exercise, yet one has to do them at least sometimes if one wants to accomplish things in the game and progress their characters. And most importantly, if u don’t do these events, there isn’t much else left for you to do in the game anyway.

Tiger Ashante.1792

Are there any comparable events that you prefer, the kind you’d like to see more of? Are you hoping for more relatively simple world bosses, like Golem MkII?

I do have comparable events that i like. I’ll point you to one of my favourite: Dwyna in Malchor Leap. There’s a story behind it that is told as u play the event. The story pulls at your heart strings, it’s not chaotic at all, but rather emotive and meaningful. You know exactly what you’re supposed to do and why and it all makes sense. Even today, after almost 4 years, I still get a jab through my heart when I hear Malchor scream DWYNA across the entire map.

If you are not familiar with the event let me know and I’ll elaborate, if u are familiar then u get the idea.

I also enjoyed Marionette event during LWS1 and there are few others. I’m not saying ALL events should be as well made as Dwyna, but if they were, i would be most pleased.

I’m not looking for simple bosses. I’m looking for complex bosses, with emotion and reason to be where they are and do what they do. They don’t need to wreak chaos everywhere to be amazing, if the above were part of their personality. Chaos is fine in certain events up to a point, but when most of the major bosses/events are all about chaos, it gets tedious fast. You create chaotic events and get the players to run around doing all these tasks to make it look complex, but in reality it’s just covering up the shallowness of it all.

Tiger Ashante.1792

I’m getting more and more tired of all the chaos that occurs in gw2 events. It really is over the top. Each new addition of content adds more and more layers of chaos and multi-tasking, with complete disregard for people with poor internet and/or without super gaming computers.

You go to any of the major events in the game and its raining chaos, Tequatl, Tripple Trouble, Silverwastes, the new Shatterer, you name it. You got to any of HoT maps and there’s more chaos there than a sane person can handle. It’s getting rather tiresome tbh. I’ve realised long time ago, u want us to keep killing entire armies at all of these events and have us do tons of multi-tasking in the process and i keep asking myself why. Then u tie achievements to these often ridiculous feats that u supposed to do during these events, creating even more chaos as people scramble aimlessly, trying to figure out what to do in all that mess. It’s very hard to learn anything at these events with so much going on, leaving many players, especially new ones confused and often turns them away from the game. Even when u do figure out the mechanics and all the multi-tasking and achievement u supposed to do, it makes it no less chaotic and frankly more exhausting, rather than fun. I keep hoping for more orderly sanity in the game, but with each update the game is instead becoming crazier and crazier and i don’t mean that in a nice way.

Like today, I was doing Cobalt TT. While combating massive lags, trying to get those powder kegs with 30 other people getting in my face, while having to run over tiny beams u cannot even see due to all the traffic and hop over small crates to bring them kegs ashore and lay them under the big wurm. If u slip into the water u lose the keg, which is easy to do since ur are constantly being attacked and are locked in combat slowing u down. The scene into which ur supposed to carry these kegs, looked like jumbled mess and complete madness reined over the area. You couldn’t even see where u were going as dozens of vet/champ wurms were constantly spawning all around spewing crap everywhere, knocking players down and if u stepped in any of them AoE’s or got hit by them u lose ur keg. I’ve yet to get that achievement and not sure i ever will, not in that chaos. There so much stuff going on, its too much to process for most people and hence why this event and others like it, rarely succeeds, unless ur in some super guild like TTS (I say this with no disrespect for TTS, just using them as an example).

Then i go to Shatterer and it’s yet more chaos and madness. Yesterday i was in AB, TD, DS, chaos rained supreme there too during the metas. I see people at these events, old and new to gw2 running around aimlessly, as they try to survive gazillion mobs all over the place, throwing AoE’s everywhere, ppl dying all over the place, it really is a scene of insanity and i’m getting sick of it.

I really hope that future expansions have more sedate events with more clear mechanics and lesser amount of mobs, which in turn would require less zergy crowds. It’s ok to have an event like Dragon Sand Boss, but having to spend 1.5 hours fighting 1000’s of mobs to get to it, is not.

Anyway, just an opinion of an old gw2 veteran, who wants to point out to the devs, that not all grandiose events have to revolve around massive chaotic zerging and fighting entire armies every step of the way, nor having to do 10-20 different things at the same time to make it appear complex and fanciful. Sometimes, less is more and oftentimes, simple things are the best.

I’ve also noticed my glider randomly shutting down when in air and just being killed, ie it shuts down and won’t let me reopen it. If its supposed to be due to lightning storm, i don’t see it.
Personally, i don’t think the launch pads launch u high enough. They launch in a forward trajectory, leaving very little room to actually glide over him at any appreciative height. At least that is my experience but it could be due to my high ping as well. Every time i’ve attempted to bomb him from the air, i’m already almost at shatterer b4 my glider will open and by then, i’m barely skimming above him, making it virtually impossible to target him and drop the bombs on him.

I do Tarir East wing often, where u have to glide and drop bombs during meta, and even with my high ping i have no problems doing it, yet with shatterer i find it almost impossible. After many tries, i’ve only managed 2 iirc.

  • Did you happen to take a screenshot or write down any error messages you saw?
  • Did your client completely crash, or did you just get booted back to the character select screen?
  • If your client did crash (rather than just disconnecting/going to character select), can you please PM me with your crash log? Instructions on getting the log are here.

Everyone else: if you get DCed or crash during the Shatter, it would be super helpful for us if you could take a screenshot of whatever error/crash message you get. If you get a crash message, you get bonus points for sending me your crash log in a PM. Thanks!

1) When you’re in the Guild Hall and have any story lines active, every time u do something that requires confirmation, such as salvaging rares, u get the the story twirly green thing flashing on your screen. From what i’ve seen it only occurs in GH and it’s really annoying and distracting especially when ur salvaging lots of rares.

2) I’m sure we all know about this issue….perma hidden minis. Please fix this, this has been going on since HoT launch and its really getting on my nerves.

3) My Druid’s Celestial Avatar ball, goes huge when u get transformed or anything occurs outside the norm. ie u get some bundle that changes ur skills, or u get stripped down on the beach in Southsun cove, as an eg. The only way to remove it is to change maps or use the avatar, which can be impossible when ur in a town and its not charged up.

Wish List: Guild Halls for the Masses

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Tiger Ashante.1792

GUILD HALLS, FOR THE MASSES
United we stand! Having finely established a foothold in the Magus Falls, the great guilds of Tyria have laid the groundwork for the rest of the Guild Brotherhood to stake their own claim in the Maguuma wilderness. Following in the footsteps of their larger brethren, the time has come for the rest of the central Tyrian guilds to claim their own Guild Halls. In pursuit of a unified guild community, the phalanx force of the grand guilds, has called out to their smaller siblings for assistance, and from all corners of Tyria, the call… is answered!

GUILDS OF TYRIA UNITE
In the March 29th patch: We will lay the groundwork for the Friday April 1st rollout of Guild Halls for the masses. Guilds of ALL shapes and sizes can now lay claim to a scaled version of their very own Guild Hall. With far reduced restrictions to number of active members and pooled resources needed, enabling them to claim their very own piece of the Guild Hall experience.

SMALLER GUILD MEMBERSHIPS ARE NOW INCLUDED
Starting with this release, we have redesigned Guild Halls into a more universally exciting experience for guilds of all sizes. The Guild Hall instance has been optimized to encompass a much more varied number of players without any adverse effect to the efforts engaged by those who already have established Guild Halls.

NEW IN THIS RELEASE
Claiming A Hall – A full party of 5 players or more, with at least 3 of which representing the claiming guild, is now able to realistically capture a Guild Hall. The guild claiming mission has been modified to accommodate a much smaller contingent, striving to plant their own respective banner and build a Hall they can be proud of.

Changes to the Guild Hall Structure – As the guild level changes so will the overall look of the hall change. Small guilds will start out with a significantly reduced real estate footprint as compared to the starting instance of their larger counterparts. Due to the reduced size of the smaller Guild Halls, so too they will require a reduced amount of resource building materials to construct their upgrades. If a guild does grow in number of members, additional resources will be required to accommodate the increase in Guild Hall capacity.

General Guild Upgrades – Our Guild Team has also retooled a new Guild Interface to allow for a more smoothly flowing guild interaction. Some of the changes will include:
• Numerous features enabling Guild Officers to manage their respective members more easily
• A new Guild Mail system has been implemented to facilitate easier communication between Guild Officers and Guild Members.
• Visiting Vendor NPCs will now frequent your Guild Hall in hopes of pawning their untraditional wares, giving access to items that are not usually available.

Guild Bank – Bank structure has been updated to allow for new development levels and features
• Guild Stash, Trove, Cave and the new Vault are now all separate areas of the Bank each with their own Rank security settings. Each of the above can be broken down by tabs to further refine deposit groupings.
• Guild Deposit boxes (small, medium and large) can now be purchased, via the Gem Store, for Guild specific storage

Scribe – A complete revision of the Scribe guild crafting discipline to encourage any guild members who may want to contribute, will be able to do so. Scribing has been brought into line with requirements and benefits to match the other crafting professions.

New Guild Ranks, Revised Security Levels, Guild Alliances, Guild Commander Tags and so much more are coming in this huge Guild specific release.

Coming April 1st – Guild Halls… for the other 99% !

Very nice wishlist, it shouldn’t be a wish though, it should have all been there from the start. I love lot of the concepts gw2 teams come up with but unfortunately, lot of them are not quite there, sort of half done really. No matter what it is, there’s always somethings missing, some very basic things at that. like for eg: creating 3 guild bank tabs, but giving leaders only 2 permission option for all 3.

Active Guild Mission Screen

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Tiger Ashante.1792

Tiger Ashante.1792

It would be great if when a guild mission is activated that the screen for it will be up when we open the guild missions tab. For example, when we start the easy trek you see the screen that shows the 5 locations and how much time you have to get it done which is great. Where the problem is is that when you close the guild window and reopen the guild mission tab you have to go back and find the mission you’re working on which takes time away from the mission especially for treks since you have to look at the screen many times.

Totally agree with this, very frustrating the game never saves the last position you were looking at in any of the UI elements. Mora than any, i find crafting one annoying , but even more so GM’s since you’re actually being timed and precious time is lost having to constantly search for the relevant mission over and over.

(sugg) Festivals Year Round

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Tiger Ashante.1792

Tiger Ashante.1792

Why not create some fun festivals that are not reliant only on public holidays that happen in real life? These could be something like Bash the Dragon, GW2 Anniversary, Summerfest, Autmnfest, a Pirate themed one, Commemorate the Zephyrites one, or whatever u can imagine. Something that can be rotated year round between those specific holiday ones like Wintersday or Halloween.

You could add some tokens u can earn at each one and get some cool skins but not necessarily in one go. You may have to repeat several of the same type festivals to get enough to get that really rare skins or item but at the same time, there should be those easier ones to get that can be earned in one showing of the festival, like some minis or not so rare skins etc. perhaps even guild decorations, gliders etc.

You could have a festival merchant year round that has a list of these items to choose from and perhaps once a year add some new skins to the rotations? Any time you know there will be a break between content, you could add one of these festivals that run for several weeks to keep the ppl busy and entertained and give them a change of pace and some relief from farming etc.

I really believe we need something like this in the game. As it stands, periods between festivals in gw2 are too long and mere 2 real festivals, Halloween and Wintersday that only come once per year! Most of the games i played had tons of festivals that they rotated year round and there was hardly 2-3 weeks when something wasn’t going on. It makes the game look alive and it keeps the players logging in and feeling like they always have something fun to do and enjoy.

Please add your own if u can think of any.

Cheers!

Can We Disable Gliders?

Can you give us the ability to disable our own glider?
Sometimes when I do Jumping Puzzles, I accidentally glide and it causes me to mess up..
It annoys me so much. =(

Solution:
Maybe let us unequipped our gliders in the glider menu so it would prevent us from gliding accidentally?

Thanks! =)

I think ppl have already asked numerous times to have an on/off toggle for the glider. I agree with this completely. I find they can be a pain in JP’s. I have to use wireless keyboard due to my set up and wireless ones have a slight latency, so for me to make some longer jumps, i have to hold my space bar for a couple of seconds, which always results in activating my glider. It’s really bad when i have problems doing some relatively easy JPs i’ve done 100’s of times with no issues prior to glider intro to Tyria and i’m missing them all the time now. Very frustrating.

hi
i have been playing this game since beta and i did not get any precursor is that part of the game design or is it because you want us to buy it always coz i feel realy lost !

Don’t give up, your luck may change. I was the same 3.5 years no drop. I long believed precursors were a phantom, an illusion created to give us hope they actually exist out there in the world, like Santaclaus.

Then just today, i went to Southsun Cove and as always when i go there, i do the JP next to the entrance and then jump down on the ship and grab that little chest guarded by the Skelk Elite. I’ve done this hundreds of time so far but today, was the day. I opened that little chest today and guess what got out of it? Leaf of Kudzu! I was speechless, not something i ever expected, especially from that chest but there it was. It was odd too, as only 2 days ago, I put a bid on TP for Leaf of Kudzu, and it was nice to cancel it and get my money back. But nothing beat that feeling of realising, yes, they actually do exist and i finally got one! So you never know when and where luck may find you. And good luck in your endeavors, i hope you too finally get one.

HoT Failures: Guilds

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Tiger Ashante.1792

Tiger Ashante.1792

Artists once again, did an amazing job. The Guild Halls are beautiful. But the system to upgrade them is a mindless, grinding borefest. Totally unimaginative, unrewarding numbers game. The sheer volume of materials required is staggering and most of the upgrades are totally useless.

To add insult to injury, they allowed guild members that own core game, but not HoT, to visit the guild hall and to contribute toward it’s upgrades, yet the measly few buffs u get from these upgrades have been denied to them unless they buy the expansion. I never thought Anet would sink so low, but sadly they have with this system. And frankly, i don’t think it should be your decision which of my members get the guild buffs and which don’t. This is a blatant blackmail on your part.

This system is beyond awful for small guilds, who were not considered here at all. I have a small guild and i’m expected to fork out as much as a 500 member guild. 100g to claim the guild same as they pay, same amount of materials, endless grind for elder wood/mithril/ectos/flax and the list goes on and on. Who thought putting in 1000 elder wood planks and 1000 mithril ingots + 200 ectos, just to list a few required for just 1 upgrade, is a fun task? Even if your guildies did contribute, which mine don’t, as most of them are fairly new players and are still lving their chars etc, it’s still a mindless boring task to have to do as a guild.

And then u got to look at another upgrade and it’s a repeat of the above. I guess designing fun content in gw2 is long gone. Now they just throw 1000’s of material numbers at you. Its easy to do. Just draw a number from a hat and add lots of 0’s at the end. No wonder ppl are leaving this game for better pastures. I can’t blame them really. They’ve turned us into mindless drones and ruined all the fun and expectations of these amazing guild halls and the game as whole.

It would have been much more fun to have some guild quests that guild members could do together to unlock certain aspects of the guild hall and upgrade it that way. Some material contributions would have been fine too, but not solely and that’s it. By the same token, due to a huge demand for these materials, the prices have gone through the roof, making it very hard to get guild members to part with these materials, especially if they’re lving their crafting, or trying to make a bit of money. And is it really fair to ask ppl to part with their hard earned gold and materials, when those guild upgrades offer them very little benefit?

I mean just to restore the workshop, they want you to throw in 50 Elonian leathers! among ofc many other materials on the list including yet another 200 ectos, tons of ori ingots and the list goes on and on. 50 Elonian leathers =900g alone! So they want u to use materials that directly compete with crafting ascended gear and ofc are daily gated. Yet, no use for silver or gold, my bank is full of it but only one very early upgrade required just 20 gold ingots. No, Anet has an expensive taste and has only gone for the most valuable stuff here. GG. Anet but i think if it hasn’t already, it will backfire at you in a long run unless u make some serious changes to this system. I havn’t even touched the scribing, so far not bothered with it, got enough gold/mats sinks to last me the lifetime of this game, but we’ll see how they “fix” it.

Kicked from Hearts & Minds right at the end!

Was doing the final HoT story mission Hearts and Minds with a guildie, we were on the very last bit to kill Modremoth, he’s nearly dead and suddenly, the loading screen popped and we got kicked from the instance, in the very same way you get kicked from the normal pve DS map. I’ve encountered all sorts of bugs and glitches in this mission in the past, but being actually kicked form the instance like this, is the first and to be honest, rather inexcusable.

This was the very first play through for my guildie and to experience this has really shocked him. We were both upset this happened, as this is a long mission and to be kicked like this right at the end is really terrible. I have several more characters that need to finish this and i’m always reluctant doing this mission as you never know what u’ll get. One thing is certain, u can never feel assured you will finish this mission without some problem and if u do, its mostly sheer luck.

How do you speak for the entire player base… You don’t know my opinion on the matter at all.

Well i don’t speak for you for sure, but i can only go by numerous complaints about it on these very forums and in game, as well as among the guilds community. Common sense tells me, that no player would be happy with this system, especially if they run a guild, have alt account and use the mail system a lot. But if out of all else said, you want to focus on the world “entire” be my guest.

Being slowed in combat is one of my biggest peeves in gw2 since it launched. I absolutely hate it and find it annoying beyond words, especially for a game touted as fast paced. No other game has this, but that is a good thing.

All this time, i’ve kept hoping they would finally ditch this unnecessary hindrance, but nah, Anet loves annoying and frustrating their players for some reason.

Games i can immediatly think of that have in-combat slows: Tera, Dragon Nest and BnS. All of those games are known for the fast-paced combat yet still have the combat slow.

Meh whatever, never played those games and frankly i don’t are they have it. I’d like to see it go from gw2, it’s the only game i care about right now and i simply don’t see the point to it, especially now with gliding and so on.

Problem with this I think is it take some kind of proof like code to show who get person to buy game or HoT. Then with this people probably spam in place like map chat look for group and forum. Guild spam in chat bad enough. I think I agree with other person. Reward of get friend to buy game or HoT is have that friend to play game with.

The way i’ve seen it work in other games, they advertise it on their lading screen or log in Ui and their website etc, where they offer for eg: a nice steed or w/ever, to refer a friend. The person referring has to go to their website and fill in some kind of form, stating who the friend is they’re referring and if that friend ends up getting and registering the game, the person who referred him/her gets the offered reward.

As i stated in my original post, its not so much about me personally getting the reward for what i’ve done, but rather gw2 players in general who may have friends that are on the fence about the game. Rewards may incentivize them to encourage those friends to get the game and hence bring more new players in. After all, who doesn’t like getting gifts/rewards? And imo, it’s a cheap way of promoting the game. It’s not like Anet would be paying them real money, just some pixel rewards. For eg: they could offer a choice of a nice glider skin, or an outfit or like some others suggested above, some black lion keys, even minis etc. Anyway, it was a well intentioned idea but i guess not everyone is able to see as such.

I only run a small guild of 70 or so and in the last month or 2 i’ve convinced at least a dozen guildies to buy HoT. these were all f2p and now they’re HoT owners. Not only that, but most of them have purchased the Ultimate Edition too. Even just today, i convinced yet another f2p gulidie to buy it. “Just for gliding alone, it’s worth it”, was my sales pitch and within literally 10 min, they whispered me and said they bought it.

In any other game i’d be showered with gifts, but not here. I’m not suggesting this just so i can be rewarded, but i think it would be nice and good for the game in the long run as it would give an incentive for people to bring in friends, co-workers etc.

I watched a WP video on this subject, wasn’t aware it was a thing, so i went and sent some stuff which was instantly returned to me. I totally agree that the mail system is in an abysmal state. It really needs a complete overhaul.

As a guild leader, I have no mass mail out to guild members and with limited MotD, it really impedes me on daily basis from organizing anything for the guild. It is also rather annoying that i can only send to mails b4 i’m suppressed, Seriously? 2 mails? I don’t think this is stopping gold sellers one bit, as i’m constantly getting whispers from them, however, it does inconvenience your entire player base, who are being frustrated with this system to no end.

There are 4 turrets underwater. Since you say you didn’t look there, you probably missed those.
Dulfy has a map with all the locations (underwater ones are marked not with a red dot, but with a blue circle with 4 in it). Notice, that golems (there are also 4 of those) are not marked.

Yea i suspected if they’re anywhere they’d be underwater, but by time i thought about that it was too late, i was beyond the point of being able to return.

Anyway tnx very much i’ll check that out on another character.

you probably missed those 4 very first turrets , very close to the entrance

Actually no, i got those 4 at beginning. This was not my first time completing that part, I’ve done it like several times, but hadn’t focused on achievements till now. When i checked the achievement requirements for that story part, it showed i already had done 9/32 turrets and last night, with my current character got up to 28/32. I killed ofc those leading up the lab as i’ve done every time i did that story part, but none counted toward the achievement progress.

Before i proceeded to the lab, I noted my progress was at 87% and it remained that way even though i killed quite a few along that ramp, leading into the lab. So it dawned on me that those perhaps didn’t count b/c my previous chars killed these guys already, which is kinda weird in itself really. So i went searching the whole area several times and found nothing more. so unless they’re deeper underwater, i didn’t look there.

Furthermore, i didn’t get credit for getting those notes and following the clues either. Got all 3 notes and used the correct code at the end, went through the portal that opened up, nothing. It’s still showing in my achievements as not done. So now i got these 3 notes, dunno if i should keep them or trash them as they’re taking up space in my bank among many other items i have no idea what to do with.

Hi,

I’m trying to complete this achievement, Cleaning House, during the Rata Novus story mission. There’s a bit of conflicting information here, where dulfy guide indicates you have to destroy 32 turrets (same number as the achievement panel indicates), however, dulfy’s guide states that some of these turrets won’t attack you, while the achievement panel says destroy 32 active turrets.

In any case, I’m at 28/32 and i’ve spent an hour searching the entire instance, but no more are to be found. Is this bugged or am i missing something? As I cannot find the last 4 needed, either neutrals or hostiles. The only place i haven’t searched extensively is underwater, though i did swim around closer to the surface, but couldn’t see anything.

If anyone could enlighten me please, as this is the last story achievement i need in TD and would really appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance

You need 400 weapon smith for gift of metal. Your character probably only has armor smith.

The character crafting it has 500 armorsmith and weaponsmith but the recipe gift of metal, i just paid 10g for and used, isn’t even showing anywhere. so i’m really confused why it worked for armorsmith but not weaponsmith.

I got the gift of fortune & mastery and got all the other materials in my bag, but i cannot craft the gift of sunrise. When I place all the ores for the gift of metal into the forge, its greyed out no matter what order i put the ores in. And its the same with gift of light. In fact gift of Ascalon doesn’t even appear in the materials list on the mystic forge interface.

Can anyone explain what’s going on please? I got all these items, spent a fortune on it all and i can’t finish my weapon.

Update: i forgot about having to buy recipes from Miani for above gifts, so I bought them and made the gift of light no problem, but the gift of metal recipe does not appear when i do search in the weaponsmith crafting UI and so i still cannot make the gift of metal. what am i doing wrong?

First time i saw graphic glitches in gw2, was shortly after Hot launched. There was a couple of areas in Timberline Falls where segments of the landscape were flashing. They were quite a long way apart. One was Above that Asuran outpost right up on the hill where the Veteran Wurm spawns and the other was near the wp close to the big waterfalls with the vista. I meant to report it, event took some screenshots, but knowing there was lot more pressing issues, i dealayed it and delayed it.

And then, it was finally fixed with a patch that came out 2 weeks ago. However, after that patch, I also noticed some new areas in Frostgorge Sound with this issue, only much worse. It occurs all around the ravine where the Champ Troll spawns and the ground flashing effects are much faster, so much so it’s hard to look at them. I haven’t checked since today’s patch if it’s still there or not.

This was an interesting and strange event.

About a week ago, I took one of my chars to Tangle Depths and went on to do some exploring. From the Order of Wispers wp i went to jump on that big tree across from there and grab an updraft to the HP and the vista up in the cliffs. As i jumped toward the tree, my screen went pale blue and I was instantly killed. The screen cleared and I found myself on the ground some distance away from where i first jumped off.

I thought that was really strange but decided to have another go. This time, i managed to jump onto the tree and grab the first updraft, but just then, it happened again. My screen went all blue again and i was instantly killed once more. Only this time, it dumped me beyond Dragon’s Passage into Dragon Stand! That’s all the way across TD and into another map. But although i knew i was in Dragon’s stand, i was in some kind of no man’s land, a location i know you can’t normally go to within Dragon Stand itself. I was probably dumped somewhere between maps or something.

Anyway, it was the weirdest thing i’ve yet experienced. I’ve fallen through landscapes in the past and got stuck in weird places, but this was something else. Luckily, it hasn’t happened since and hopefully won’t happen again.

Electromagnetic-Descender Glider Feedback [Merged]

I haven’t bought Electro-Magnetic glider, as to me it does not look like a glider. In my view, gilder is a gentle, peaceful way to travel, but this glider flashing with lighting and tendrils extending so far from the body, it defies that feeling and they hurt my eyes, especially when there’s a bunch of ppl flying in front of you.

This became especially evident when I was doing TD meta a short while ago and there was like 6 or more ppl with this glider. They were all flying in front of me and there was so much visual noise and lightning, the tendrils were spread out across my entire FOV and i couldn’t see where i was going. If there was at least something else there to soften the effect of all them flashing lights, like for eg some kind of semi-transparent webbing and it actually connected to body of the user, it would look less weird to me and seem more like a glider.

In no particular order.

Mini UI at various trading services that allow u to buy custom amounts in bulk. If too bigger numbers have tech limitations then make a stack a default number u can buy instantly, or be able to type a custom number from 1-250.

Key ring.

Wallet or collectible slot for blade shards, or make them tradeable or giftable to friends.

Build & gear templates ofc

Copy/paste from chat yes ofc

Either remove, or enhance inventory items rarity colour so u can actually see it. Currently its so faint, it may as well not be there. Perhaps make the borders much thicker?

Preserving UI settings ie: stop resizing my bags every time i log out of the game.

Stop moving position of my other windows such as bank, crafting etc, to some default position, these things annoy me endlessly on daily basis.

Preserve my last position i was at in bank, crafting UI, or TP until I change it, instead of changing it for me and once again resetting it to default state.

(Very important to me)
Make gathering seamless; a channeling process rather than having to hit the same node over and over and over, especially now that we have to feed the endlessly ravenous vacuum cleaner that is the guild hall. Zomoros, i never though I’d say this, but you’ve been surpassed by heaps and bounds.

Side note: Guild Halls upgrading may not be an issue for big guilds but for a small guild like mine, its mindless boring hell. Nothing fun about it, just big material and gold removal from ppl who can hardly afford it. Just the fact that small guilds have to fork out same amount for upgrades as those mega guilds, is unfair and not well thought out at all. But that’s a discussion for another time.

My argument for this change of gathering (not the first time i asked for it either and i’ll not stop asking for it till they change it), I find it really tiresome how some nodes have that extra hit and being used to getting only 3 things form a node 90% of the time, i start running away from a node thinking its done, but there’s a slight delay before the (F) interact key lights up again between hits, only to find the node isn’t finished and u have to run back, not only wasting even more time but having to do yet more clicking. If you don’t deplete that node it’ll stay that way, it will not reset and nothing worse when its a rich node.

A game, as old as gw1, Lotro, long has had an amazing gathering system for years that saves u so much hand pain. As soon as a node is in your eyesight, you can right click that node and your character auto runs to the node and starts gathering it in a channeling manner untill the node is completely depleted. All this with just 1 right click of your mouse, regardless if that node is standard or rich node. The rich node has a slightly longer channeling, that’s all. But in gw2, just to get 3 chunks of ore, you have to click or hit F for that node 3 times or more if there’s an extra and if its a rich node, well i lose a count how many clicks u have to do, but its a lot.

I know i’ve ranted on this matter a bit, but i think its really an important issue, at least for me, especially now that we have to gather so much if we want to craft ascended/legendaries, upgrade guild halls and so on and i’m not joking when i say this, my hands hurt like hell after playing gw2 for a while. So much clicking its insane, 100 times more than any other game i’ve played and its gotten beyond ridiculous now to a point where i might have to stop playing the game if i want to preserve my hands.

I have many more QoL suggestions, but must stop here, my hands are hurting again.

Tiger Ashante.1792

I’ve had problems with the way this system works since launch of the game. If you don’t use full bezerker build, ur basically screwed out of loot in favor of high dmg builds. It used to be worse for condi classes when condi was basically useless, but its still bad for anyone not running berzerker when it comes to getting loot from kills. I’ve heard time and time again Anet say they would fix this issue, but so far it hasn’t happened yet.

I would like to believe they want build diversity, but this does not seem to translate on the ground.

I’ve never run pure berserker builds, i don’t like being a glass cannon and get bored if i’m so op where i one shot everything in low lvl zones.

So to the point, today for the umpteenth time, I was soling a champ, got him down to 1/4 hp, when this guy rolls up, hits him twice b4 it died and i end up with a blue champ bag. I’m really, really sick of this. How is this fair? I did all the work, then some zerker runs up does 1-2 hits and he gets the best loot while I end up with crumbs?

Really Anet, u keep saying u wish to give us build diversity but when all you measure is dps for players to get sufficient credit for kills and hence good loot, rather than the lvl of participation, you shouldn’t be surprised all players want to run is berzerkers, as that will always give them the best loot.

Please fix this. 3.5 years of crappy loot is really more than enough for me. I’m just really tired of this system and are at a point where i don’t want to participate in anything that involves other players. I’ve never complained much about the loot as i’m not really loot- centric player, but even for me, this has become too much to bear when it keeps happening time and time again.
