That’s like saying we don’t need/use Healing Ripple because you could just attune to water and dodge using Evasive Arcana. I am not satisfied with that response.

So here’s the thing. There is indeed more than one Pale Tree. However, the Pale Tree that we know of has a community around it called The Grove. What we don’t know is if all Pale Trees have a community around them similar to The Grove.
I suppose you could consider the pod Sylvari are bore from as an egg in which they already have all the nutrients to sustain them through “birth.”

I love Updraft on the Elementalist’s dagger. That skill can be such a troll thing to do to an enemy near a ledge. It’s a launch, it’s an evade, and it’s a source of swiftness. All the things you need in life!

I had an idea for Earth Attunement the other day. My idea was the implementation of a trait that made it so when you switched to earth, you created a blast finisher at your location precisely when that animation for entering Earth Attunement appears.
You could argue that we have enough blast finishers as it is. But I just thought it would be a nice touch. It could provide some more nice opportunity for combinations and could also offer another blast finisher to some setups that might not have a lot of access to them.

Okay. Thanks. I guess it’s just hard to see when looked at in comparison to the usually bright coloring of the field itself. I’ll try to keep an eye out for it more.

Hey Everyone. I’ve been playing Necromancer a lot lately and I’ve noticed that when you have a Necromancer in your party and said Necromancer enters Death Shroud, Death Shroud’s life replaces that of their actual life’s health bar. So when they are in Death Shroud, not nearby, and their health is decreasing, I mistake it for meaning that they’re on the verge of dying; when in reality, it’s just their life force that’s depleting.
Now, such a system could already be in place and I could just be missing it, but if it isn’t, I’d like to suggest that there be a change in appearance of your party member’s health bar when they enter and exit Death Shroud (Similar to in Guild Wars 1 where your health bar changed color when stricken with a hex spell or condition).
I felt like it would be a nice quality of life change so I don’t mistakenly run towards them in an effort to heal them.

Hey all you Mesmers out there. I main an Elementalist but I’ve been dabbling in Mesmer quite a bit lately. I had a question. Is there a difference in WvW and PvP in animation between a friendly and enemy AoE? I personally haven’t noticed a difference. But perhaps I’m overlooking something.
Examples: Null Field, Chaos Storm, etc.
If the answer is no, then I would like to suggest that there be some way to differentiate.

I believe in one of ArenaNet’s interviews they stated that one of the reasons why they created Edge of the Mists was to test new ideas that may be moved over to WvW in the future. So I think it’s fair to say that if they do indeed use it for this purpose, changes in EotM may make their way over to WvW.

The only thing that is changing is if multiple fire patches have been placed on top of one another, duplicates will be removed. So it will be a uniform fire field throughout the line. They can be struck multiple times from the fire field still. It is just that being struck by multiple fire patches on top of each other simultaneously will now become impossible.

For getting them out of AoE, you could move around a bit more and use the “Return to me” button.

OR. You could have the little stick you put inside the toilet roll be a handle and you could make it a Scepter.

I think if anyone were to go to war, it would be the Charr. We have proof from the past that they have been known to engage in battle. They would be most likely to go to war with the Humans.
Since the Charr would be fighting the Humans, if they needed help, they would most likely form an alliance with the Centaur because they also hate the Humans. However, it would be a tough alliance because the Centaur are hostile to nearly all races, even other Centaur tribes. There would need to be something to provoke their alliance. Maybe if the Centaur were in danger of extinction from the Humans.
If said alliance were to occur, the Charr and Centaur would most likely overtake the Humans.
The humans beat the char long ago. The Char were beating the humans because of the influence of Abaddon. The Charr cast that off however. They are too factionalized now to prove the threat they were before, yet humans are more united than ever. Even if the Charr did go back to the Flame Legion, they wouldn’t have the backing of the Titans.
I meant another war.
Also, upon further thought, it is worth noting that as of right now, all we are aware of is the Black and Flame Citadels. We haven’t taken into account the Charr forces for the Blood and Iron legions. I don’t think we know of their exact locations, but I do believe they are located someone North/Northeast of Ascalon on Tyria. Whereas the closest Humans we are aware of are in Elona (All major concentrations of Humans on Tyria are either in Kryta or Ebonhawke). Seeing as we aren’t allowed to consider races/forces on continents other than Tyria, I do believe the Charr most likely still outnumber the Humans.

Whenever I do a dungeon. I make sure I’m always the person who opens it. This I because I have learned from experience that when I allow other people to open it, they usually do one of the following stupid things:
1) After the dungeon has been completed, they leave the party instantly and other members of the party that had loot on the ground didn’t get to pick it up and got removed from the dungeon.
2) Become annoyed with the slow progress of the dungeon and leave party.
3) In FotM, choose the wrong difficulty.

Twice Told Legend is anet’s lazy way of “fixing” the issue of people having 2x the same one from back when they were soulbound instead of account bound.
I think it’s better than nothing. The lazier way would have been to do nothing.

Think of it like this.
When people have their first child, they don’t always know what they’re doing. So with their first child, many mistakes are made to figure out what should and shouldn’t be done.
When the parents have more children, they’re usually more experienced in knowing what to do.
Now, does this mean that the first child got the short end of the stick? Maybe. Does this mean the second child is intentionally treated better? No.
It takes experience to keep your children happy. And happiness takes time.

I think they’re going to have the seasons be shorter than the length season 1 was; starting with the current season. So naturally, the amount of content seasons have in comparison to each other will need to be reevaluated when we have more seasons to base it off of.

I would like the following buffs to the Shatterer:
For the fight to be a 360 degree battle, in which he moves and changes direction. Possibly give players a slight damage boost if they attack him from a particular direction. This would encourage the group to remain on the move as he moves.
I bet the dragon moving around would only exacerbate the decrease in frames for that fight, though.
To deter everyone from standing in one place and auto-attacking, I would like it if the Shatterer did a massive attack whenever there was a large concentration of people in a specific spot. Either a large AoE or a smaller AoE for each individual.
I just think it’s boring how people stand in that one spot and mindlessly attack him.
I do, however, believe the implementation of the regeneration crystals at a farther distance from him was a step in the right direction; as well as when they were made larger. If the fight became a 360 degree battle, perhaps they could be moved to different spots all around the dragon in a circular pattern.

I use Cleric’s gear for PvE, WvW, and PvP. I think it works really well. I have fun with Berserker setups. But I feel it’s just more natural for me to be more defensive. I don’t have problems killing things, it just takes a bit longer. I can get plenty of might, so that helps with my lack in damage. I usually run dual daggers and it works really well for roaming in WvW. A lot of times I find that my allies need healing and I keep them from death a lot. They can’t do damage if they’re dead.

It looks like a slight wiggling of the vines. It’s nothing drastic. But enough to notice. You might mistake it for it only moving with your character’s movements, but it moves even when I’m not moving. Pop the graphics up to max and check it out.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
It appears I was mistaken. It seems to move when you have the graphics on higher. I usually play with the graphics low so that’s why I didn’t notice.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
I personally really like this back item. I would love it if it had some sort of animation, though. It does move when my character moves. But i don’t know if i would call that it’s own animation. I would like something similar to the Sclerite Karka Shell back item.

After I get my characters to level 80, I like to give them an armor and weaponset with a specific look. So the other day, I decided to give my Guardian a Sea-monster/nautical/southsun theme. There are a few things to choose from for back items and weapons, but not so much for armor. So I just wanted to make a request for a chest, leg, boot, and glove armor pieces that looks like you would go swimming in it, or at least make you look like you were an underwater monster. I thought that would be cool. I would rather it not be released through the gem store, though. So the only other time it would probably be released is when we have more content that has to do with going in or near large bodies of water, which may not be for a while.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
8/10 for mohagi because I like your weapons. But I personally like to give my character’s looks a theme. My Elementalist has a plant theme.

I made a PvP celestial cantrip build with the traits, 2/2/2/2/6. The results have been pretty nice so far. Perfectly well rounded. Really the jack of all trades.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
Hi,
I play a Dual dagger Elementalist as my main. I’m not trying to be mean, but I must say I’m extremely happy to see this thread topic. For my current build, I rely a lot on condition cleans and boon uptime. I run all cantrips, Signet of Restoration with the elite skill Summon Druid Spirit, Exotic+ cleric’s gear and power food.
With this build, I can maintain nearly 15+ stacks of might, permanent vigor, permanent swiftness, and permanent fury. My healing power is through the roof and if threatened, my cantrips can give me a lot of regeneration and I also have a lot of access to protection. What I’m saying is, it’s impossible to deny me my boons. Sure you might mitigate some of them, but I get so many that it’s just not going to happen.
I wouldn’t say I’m the best Ele ever, but I do definitely think I do pretty well. My build relies on a lot of actions per minute, due to my heal skill. So if you could keep me from using skills, you could keep me from healing as much. Due to soothing mist and regeneration, I do heal for a lot regardless, maybe about 400 health per second.
For the record, I would just like to say, that my setup has not changed at all from the April patch. I do not believe the patch has actually made my build any more effective than it previously was.

In Guild Wars Prophecies near Lion’s Arch, there was a disturbance that resembled a tremor that resulted in a hole in the ground and the beginning of Guild Wars: Eye of the North and the arrival of a new foe known as the Destroyers. There may be no connection. But I felt like I should mention it.

I just have problems with the skill magically becoming obstructing and missing all the time.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
I’m not going to outline my entire build. but I will say that I run with Dual Daggers and Cleric’s gear and power food and it is pretty amazing. My build focuses on stacking might to fill in the gaps of my damage. I also use Summon Druid spirit to keep my enemies still. You can only use it if you’re a Sylvari. but it’s my favorite elite in the game. I mean… an AoE immobilize nearly every 5 seconds and it also applies regeneration and cures conditions. but I’m not sure how significant those are. The AoE immob also hits for about 2-4k damage. I also use those guard slayer buffs for my build. When I have all my buffs, I usually have around 3700 attack, 1250 healing power, and about 2500 armor. For traits, I have 2 in Air, 6 in water, and 6 in arcana. I use cantrips and signet or restoration. It is a LOT of fun. haha.

Lol if your sensitive to comments then you prolly should just stick to pve, pvforum is the only balanced competitive thing.
Fa come on now brahs. Hullo? You claimed you wanted to be in gold so that you wouldn’t have to face roll for 8 weeks. You should be reveling in the thought of a 2v1 not complaining. Hullo? Prolly the only match up in silver to give your Zerginess trouble
Who is “You”? You do realize that a server consists of quite a few people who have varying opinions. Please. WvW IS PvE. Don’t act like you’re superior because you mainly play WvW. Give me a break. And who was complaining. I was merely stating the obvious.
It’s okay though, because if YB and HoD did make a Pact to double-team FA, it’s going to bite YB in the butt when HoD has a tough time getting points from FA and goes after YB.
We have a whole week ahead of us. Let the games begin.

That’s what I was thinking. Each condition would supply a set debuff that can not be made stronger by going into condition damage, because in this scenario, condition damage doesn’t exist. Sigils and runes could still lengthen the dubuffs, but not make them stronger. I’m not sure if we’d have them stack in intensity like they do now for some of them, though.
Also, I absolutely played GW1. But i was never really a condition person. Except for maybe cracked armor.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
I find most of the time, I’m leaping to my target only to combo with a fire field to get a fire shield. During this encounter, the enemy is literally right next to me. So in this situation, the cripple would not be needed. However, even in this situation, the target is still sometimes obstructed…. Lol.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
Oooo. I have good idea. For the upcoming Living story updates, they should have the main story (whatever is going on at the time) as well as a variety of events in LA related to rebuilding the city. As events in LA progress, progress from those events is illustrated on a progress bar, much like the anti toxin injection in the Tower of Nightmares. When the bar fills up, a certain building/region in LA becomes fixed (Looks more rebuilt as the bar fills, too, until completely full). This would happen during each living story update. A new section becomes available to to rebuilt each time until we finally reach the final one. It would be like a mini living story update in conjunction with the main event.
Events could include, gathering materials, clearing rubble, etc.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
Well if you are removing the auto attack conditions I would not like you as my cleric.
Before I picked up my trapper ranger condi build I played a thief ( got bored of it) and a power warrior (also got bored). The condi builds are just much more fun to play. It would be really stale if there were only power builds in the game.
I agree with you there. I do think conditions add an interesting flavor to combat. But I don’t think they should be a main source of damage like they are now. I think it’s pretty silly. I mean, you wave your hands at the enemy and they bleed and become poisoned and then you just run away from them and wait for them to die. Seems pretty ridiculous to me.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
Actually it wont take as long…they will need a HUB for Halloween and Christmas
Who knows. Maybe they’ll think of some fitting and compelling story as to why the events that normally took place in LA have been relocated. Even then, I don’t see why the Mad King can’t invade a ruined LA. I guess the nonexistent citizens of LA won’t be decorating for the holidays, but they can always decorate something else.
Also, now that there’s a ruined city and an even more displaced population, they can do even more charity for in the upcoming Wintersday!
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
I think you’re so used to the situation being the way it is that you’re just going to say anything to defend it against change. I know how to deal with conditions. I run in WvW with a boon-duration, condition cleansing, cleric build. I find it hold up pretty well, even in roaming situations. As I’ve said before, no amount of condition cleanse I have can cure the limitless supply of conditions that are applied from auto-attacks.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
I find that most of the time, it’s much easier to dodge the application of burst than conditions. Sure there are some instant bursts that you’ll really only be able to dodge based on luck, however most of them have a noticeable animation. I find most condition animation skills to be either nonexistant or extremely ambiguous/underwhelming.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
During the early morning, maybe like from 4-8 eastern time, not sure exactly when, FA’s part of EB was blue (Yaks Bend), while FA’s home borderland was completely Red (Henge of Denravi) while HoD’s BL was completely red and YB’s BL was completely Blue; as well as their respective corners of EB. So they aren’t touching each other but are both touching FA. Double team.
I don’t deny it’s part of the game and is a good tactic when 1v1 is a tough situation, but it is indeed happening, or at least was in that point in time.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
I like the skill a lot. It’s great for the leap finisher and also for catching enemies trying to run away. The only issue I have with the skill is that it sometimes misses or gets obstructed when the target it literally right in front of me and there are no obstacles in my way.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
I personally think conditions shouldn’t be a main source of damage at all. I think they should be a little something extra to power/critical-related damage. It wouldn’t make sense to do this with the current stat system. But if they reworked it, I think it would be fine.
They could remove condition damage entirely and have conditions apply damage at a static rate. This way, people wouldn’t have to build for conditions but they would still be there. And because people don’t need to waste stats on them, they can be toned down; or at least the access to them can be toned down. But then since there would be less conditions, there should also be less condition removals. The moral of what I’m saying is, reduce easy access to conditions by removing them from auto attacks.
