Well if it’s linear then 2,5 levels.
Karka Queen will have upgraded loot (including a chance for an ascended weapon chest) so I predict KQ being much more busy than previously.
43 characters??! God, I really hope you’re joking…
Alt playing players are not a niche player type that this game wants to cater to at all now, it was promising at first until last Nov.
Players with more than 8 maxed character are very niche, players with 43 maxed characters… Erm I bet I can count them with my fingers.
I bought a bunch of them when you could get them at 14c. Now they sell for 24c and going up…
Well, well… So they have. Might be time to unload about a thousand or so of them before prices go back down.
It’s hard to say where the price will eventually settle to, as the supply will now be cut down signifigantly, but the demand should stay for a while because of the new rune/sigil recipes.
I don’t think you understand…. It’s not the same Escort it was last month when any old server could do it by Zerging hard enough. They changed the skills of what spawns on it.
People will fail, learn, adapt and overcome eventually.
The whole time-gate thing I’m certain was made just to destroy me and my playstyle. I don’t know how I upset Anet but they have gone out of their way to make me and my 43 characters miserable.
edit – to change two inocent words which when typed alongside each other results in “kitten”
43 characters??! God, I really hope you’re joking…
The ascended crafting will require obsidian shards. Prepare for Balthazar to be open 24/7 for a while.
No one’s going to be succeeding in keeping it open. The only thing that will happen 24 hours out of the day will be people whining about it NOT BEING OPEN on 95% of servers.
The main reason being that most people who show up, don’t follow mapchat OR commanders. I’m planning to put a guide up here of where every single Vet Subjugator can possibly spawn, but I guarantee that almost none of the people in-game showing up will have ever looked at it. Most people will ultimately just buy Orrion Jewel boxes for like 5x the Karma price per Shard b/c there’s nothing else to spend Karma on…. even though they could also be making tons of T6 mats (between 15-40) with the Obsids that we unlock almost daily on the servers that are actually getting good at this whole encounter.
Well since you can guest to the servers that have this open, I’d still like to think Balthazar will be open on some server pretty much all the time, save perhaps the lowest pop time in the timezone.
Have you tried Guild Puzzles? Sadly, there are only three of them, but some parts of them are absolutely brilliant.
What’s our definition of ‘poor person’ here – someone who missed out on a month’s worth of content?
We can do this definition once the first ascended materials hit the TP. I’d say it will show that 90% of the population of GW2 will be too poor. The 20-100g they farmed through invasions will be nothing.
Probably has been suggested a few times already, but since the search is broken…
I would like to see GW2 to have a “combat mode” option, where you could play it more like an action RPG, aiming your ranged attacks and melee attacks with a crosshair. If you don’t know what I mean, check out this unofficial mod that does exactly this:
And before the complaints – no, it does not make you a better player or make playing GW2 any easier. It just makes it play a bit different.
In conjunction to this, I’d like to see official controller support. I’m sure a lot of players would love to be able to kick back onto their sofa and enjoy GW2 on their big screen TV, without having to kludge mouse and keyboard on their lap.
Probably never going to happen, but one can wish…
While we play GUILD wars, we don’t have:
- Guild halls
- Guild vs Guild wars
- Guild managing mechanics (How to know who contributes and who is not playing for 5 months. God knows)yeah…
Inb4 someone comes and “educates” us that the name Guild Wars has nothing to do with player guilds.
Which is true, of course, but so misleading we should sue ANet.
Nah, make axe 3 a pull.
That would have to come with an increase in the cooldown time, considering that all of the pull skills in the game have at least a 12s cooldown, most of them 15s+.
Nah, leave it. Change offhand axe 4 to a gap closer. That way you can run dual axes and not look like a kittening moron while being kited to pieces by an engineer.
Well, either you would have to make it require a target or you would’ve just made Sword/Axe into a full-on bunnyhopping set.
And it’s not like no one ever uses axes. It’s still the go-to weapon for PvE and cyclone axe sees plenty of use.
Would be pretty hilarious to run sword/axe+GS with bull’s rush and snow leopard. Catch me if you can! (hint: you can’t)
I have an off topic question. Are the new maps going to be introduced today?
No. And it looks like they’re not coming in the next update either.
Most people vendor them.
That would be pretty dumb now that they’re selling at around 24c apiece.
Yeah, they seem to have shot up in price. You used to get the same money for just vendoring them. Of course people have probably hoarded zillions, plus they are not that useful, so I cannot see them staying high.
You need 250 of them for the new runes and sigils. At the moment the supply is just ridiculously high with the Gauntlet and Invasion events. I would wager the price will go even higher from tomorrow on when the supply plummets.
Given the recent price rises in copper – I think its a lot better to buy the merch kits. This item just seemed pretty useless to me.
Erm…?
It takes 3 copper coins (3 cp), not copper ore or copper doubloons.
The Omegas are not that cheap anymore and Alpha Golem BP price is climbing steadily. Trust me the problem will eventually go away once people have dumped all the excess they piled up during the time the BPs were untradeable.
Nah, leave it. Change offhand axe 4 to a gap closer. That way you can run dual axes and not look like a kittening moron while being kited to pieces by an engineer.
This would probably be the best solution to make axe offhand viable in PvP. Would still be lackluster in PvE, though.
4. Most people don’t actualy enjoy pvping, yesterday I was roaming alone in Vizunah bl ( my bad I know.. ), I had hard time find some brave player, most of them just flee, even 2 vs me, luckily for me there were few good SFR on the map to play with
.
Funny you should say that. Yesterday I sent one Vizunah warrior running several times (he was sword/warhorn/GS with bull rush so pretty fast runner). He did engage at least twice, I’ll give you that.
I’m from Piken, btw.
Were the ants shooting at you with megalasers, spells and arrows?
Nope. They’re sold by the emissaries at the area you spawn in when you go to the pavillion.
Not going to happen. It’s one of those sources of gemstore purchases that will never stop as long as they keep adding new skins.
From tomorrow the obsidian shards you wasted on clover recipe will be very valuable again… So maybe there is hope the clovers will also get more use in the future? Perhaps for crafting precursors? Who knows?
5. It has been holding back for just s & g.
Praying for Tequatl-like rework.
It’s a simple as adding an abysmally low chance on an ascended weapon in it’s chest, and presto!
Well probably they will add some more function to the dudes on the hills on phase 1. At the moment you can ignore and have them slaughtered while destroying the wall and nuking Jormag. Perhaps we need to protect them so they can shoot Jormag down. There are two batteries to boot.
Phase 2 actually has some tactics to it already, but of course could use more variation. Maybe make the mobs on the ridges more deadly so players will have to clear them out.
Or smth.
I suggested earlier that guilds should be able to declare (mutual, as this is a PvE game) wars and fight it out in the open world. Lots of room there to arrange gudfights, without anyone else interfering.
But this suggestion is not bad either.
The point is that players cannot glitch and kill mobs while being unkillable themselves. This is pretty much in every modern game there is.
You can shoot other players and kill them just fine.
Here’s hoping they add ascended weapons chest to the Karka Queen loot table. Should spark a life to Southsun then and there.
I think the best point in this thread is that selling RNG for real world money is unethical. It would be downright illegal if those RNG boxes could contain something that is worth real world money, but they get away with it because it “only” contains virtual items and nobody’s going to get addicted to gambling for virtual items, right?
Right…?
My guess it’s going to be 5-10 per drop, meaning that to get the daily amount you will have to do 10-20 activities, which is not that bad.
Could be totally wrong, of course.
I read you the first time. My point was, it’s a crappy way of doing progression. Making everything super-grindy to get and then “give” you events where you can ease the grind.
It makes no sense, at all.
Sounds really fun to me. I really can’t stand farming and it’s not like I was making huge profit before with dungeons, etc. So now I’m even more left behind?
Well not really. Now that we have seen what the ascended weapons require, the only thing that might take a while for you is the leveling to 500.
We don’t know the drop rate of the T7 materials yet, but in any case you should look forward to be able to craft your ascended weapon doing various stuff at your own pace.
So no sweat. Those who grinded their behinds off will of course get their ascendeds faster, but we are not talking about months of difference.
Well unless of course the T7 drops are horrible and those with loads of gold can just get the refined mats off the TP.
I can’t really think of anything to add. OP’s suggestions are perfect.
How did you get excess of clovers? Did you accidentally drop the ingredients into the Mystic Toilet?
Most people vendor them.
That would be pretty dumb now that they’re selling at around 24c apiece.

Well that’s what you get when you’ve got 4 living story teams and just one QA team.
I guess the only question here is, what is the drop rate of the T7 mats? In practice, you need to farm 100 of the per day if you don’t want to “lose out”. How many champions do you need to kill to get 100 T7 mats?
Ok good to know. Sounds like they are almost worth it to buy now, financially thinking. Although the price of sprockets is also rising fast now.
Also, is the drop rate of a rare from those boxes that high? In my experience it’s much lower…
And yes, I have a substantial interest in the sprocket market
Sprockets??
I have over 3000 of those things clogging up my bank …
I bought a bunch of them when you could get them at 14c. Now they sell for 24c and going up…
I guess you have a point. Perhaps they should never have introduced ascended and/or legendaries, so people would stop worrying about shinies after they hit 80 and have their exotics set ready?
Nah they’d probably just quit playing. Looks like for most of the people playing MMOs today it’s the numbers on the sheet that matter and not the amount of fun they’re having…
The ascended crafting will require obsidian shards. Prepare for Balthazar to be open 24/7 for a while.
There was one pretty surefire hint to show you it doesn’t.
And that’s the price of the Superior Sigil of Impact on the TP…
In my experience the value of an opened deluxe gear box on average is far less than 30s + 30 sprockets. Don’t see why anyone would want to buy those.
Do you have statistics to show otherwise?
What I hope is that this time the best loot comes from successfully beating the event and not stalling it to farm champs…
And hopefully it will be also punishing to those who come to the event, jam their 1 key down and go AFK.
Well, since you won’t get any drops from champs that spawn it would be quite stupid to farm said champs.
It’s as if ANet learned something from the Invasions?
I’ve also heard you get no reward if you fail the event. Another lesson learned?
I’ve made more gold the past 2 weeks than I’ve ever made in my life. Grinding wasn’t exactly fun, but I enjoyed the event.
Listen to yourself? It wasn’t fun buy you enjoyed it?
Don’t you mean that you enjoyed the loot despite of the fact that getting it wasn’t fun?
That’s a really dangerous road we’re being lead into.
I’m all for player faction wars. We would need alliance option, however.
And unless they would restrict the number of people in one guild, we would eventually get one big guild dominating it all.
Some of the time gated materials will be tradeable. This means crafting will be finally profitable for everyone who wants to trade time for gold.
Congratulations on “owning” a full “bank” of virtual “items”, I guess?
I think the biggest question is, how does a hatchling that has just been born attain a veteran status so quickly.
