I am now basicaly COMPELLED to jump every time I switch on my MedKit, because refinement skill on it is the most useless skill ever and will only buck up cd for insta Super Elixir. Acid finisher is good though.

I never touch the grenade and mine kit nowadays anyway. All I use is FT and EG, so this is basically an all around buff for me. I’m quite happy for once.

Share your build then! No more medkit for me :c

In any case, unless they can say otherwise it seems like the guilds leaving SoS are not leaving due to any “drama”, but merely because they are looking for a place where they can win.

Win what? Are there cookies or something else I’m not aware of?

I used to think the same thing about Elixir X. I would highly encourage players in WvW to learn how to use it. I haven’t gone back to Supply Crate for almost 2 weeks now.

ever seen what Confusion does to Elixir X users they ll last less than 6 seconds.

Ever watch your bars much? If you get confusion stacked, just pop out of Tornado form.

I haven’t had any issues getting a dungeon group.

I did an Ascalonian Catacombs run yesterday where every but my Engi somehow wiped on the Howling King, and I kited him around to under half health before I accidentally reset him by pulling to far. Then ressed everyone and group spanked him.

In WvW Elixir X has some amazing uses.

My original post was in reference to WvW. I haven’t played a single sPvP or tPvP match so I couldn’t comment.

If you haven’t tried/found a use for Elixir X in WvW (especially when enemy zergs are present) then you don’t WvW enough.

I had this same debate in my head for 20 minutes yesterday. 5sec blind every 10 seconds is pretty incredible. really forces the opponent into condition removal . I’d be interested to know from people who use it how often the Blind actually procs.

Wvw is stale and boring. So sad I had such high hopes for this. Havent played in a week and dont miss it at all. le sigh

Agreed, though it was keeping me entertained until the guilds that were better fights started leaving the zone to find places to take stuff uncontested.

I guess some people just have a different mind set. When I lose, I try to figure out a way to win. Some people just choose to run away.

This. I remember logging on a couple weeks ago to outmanned. JQ owned Bluevale, and I went in to flip it solo. 3 defenders kept killing me. Eventually I traited properly went in and flipped it.

A server mate was watching me do this from the invulnerable spot, and whispered me that I was getting farmed and should just give up.

I wasn’t getting farmed, each time I learned something and applied it. If I couldn’t think of a way to win I probably would have given up and gone to take something else. However each time I went in I learned something new about how they were approaching the defense, and picked something to counter it.

I did and YOU are the one who is dead wrong. I was in Orr when the game went down for a patch, and when i got back its shortly after when i noticed that i wasnt removing all conditions anymore.
I was standing at lone post writing the bug report. And i reported the issue on the forum in one of the big bug threads we had going on at that time.

Nope, you’re wrong. I’ve been using medkit since launch, it only removes one condition, it always has since the second or third BWE. I never used the elixir heal past level 10 ‘cause it was bad, and I’ve only recently begun to consider using the turret since it doesn’t apply level 1 regen anymore. If you were in Orr, there’s a huge chance you were running around with other players, and “Shake it Off!” or “Save Yourselves!” was going off, or traited warrior warhorn, or something. The engineer has no abilities that remove more than 1 condition except Elixir C (this is pre-traiting, so don’t bring 409 into this) and Cleansing Burst (healing turret). Everything else takes off one condition at a time on the engineer.

Agree. Put traits in there though and Kit Refinement can make you a condition removing beast.

Nnnnno. If you don’t wanna use kits/grenades, engineer isn’t for you. Pretty much any viable build for Engineer involves grenades

This is completely false. There are several builds that are great in WvW and don’t use grenades. I haven’t run a grenade build since the first month of release.

P/P Elixir build is my personal favorite, followed by a tank build.

I’ve been trying to get used to Med Kit as I level; while I see the obvious utility in it, the actual healing of it can be clunky to me. With the other heals, you press one button and move on, while with the kit you have to switch into it, drop the bandages, and pick them up.

Having said that, I’ve found turret to be my favorite while leveling. But I’m going to stick with the Kit a while yet to get some more practice at it.

The one big advantage to Med kit, if you know you are going to be in a fight you can drop the bandages before hand and they stick around for I think 90 seconds.

As a primarily Elixir engineer what I do is drop the bandages and stimpack then immediately switch to Elixir H because there is no cooldown to switch.

I’ve now dropped supply crate for Elixir X. I used to think it was worthless, but in WvW it is amazing. As a P/P Elixir engineer most of the time now, the cool down is actually really good.

Interrupt, Interrupt, Interrupt.

Been running duel pistols conditions build and finally finding that I can hold my own against them. Glue shot keeps them from running to much elixir s stops there burst and potentially gives stealth and the 3 conditions tear through there heath. I’m so in love with this set up. For me its the perfect amount of survivability damage and control. Only thing I miss are knockbacks.

Almost the exact build I use. I use cloaking Device instead of Incendiary Power, and Elixir X instead of supply crate. If you miss your knockbacks, then you’ll get knockbacks galore with Elixir X

Edit: Oh, and I only use Elixir U when soloing camps. otherwise I run Elixir C

Edit 2: I also run HgH and not (409)

Nice video. Great defense by SoR . I didn’t see a lot of co-ordination on either side, but that’s probably the perspective it was being shot from. I’m not sure how I feel about the banner rezzing.

I’m pretty sure my one man guild [SS] is the most powerful guild. I’ve watched several zergs stand in fear of me in the open field, boots quaking, wondering what destruction the lone Asura facing them would rain down on them. Then they kill me.

Yes, you get 2 stacks if you have the same stacking sigil on 2 weapons. One of the reasons why a few people carry around 2 weapons with their intended stacking sigil on to get the stacks really quick and then swap back.

Didn’t know that, looks like I need a fourth pistol.

You should be carrying a third weapon, and once you get your 25 stacks switching out to a different sigil anyway.

I could theoretically also go for Dual Corruption or Dual Bloodlust to get the stacks twice as fast…

Are you saying if you kill a single mob you are getting 2 stacks?

You should transfer over to SoR so you have people to fight.

Word’s can’t even describe how funny this is to me. I haven’t even seriously had to WvW this week except the weekend where we secured a lead to help our SEA/Oceanic’s out and make sure they could enjoy the CNY. Which if anyone was paying attention did affect their activity.

You should quit GW2 and switch to My Little Pony Online since you have clearly beaten the game.

I’m sure they don’t have nearly the culling issues either.

Take both.

Or – Kit Refinement. Speedy kits is a convenience for running around the map, but you can just switch to Med Kit for stimulant and then back to Elixir H when needed. You may not know, but you can switch to Med Kit, pop a stim pack, and immediately switch back to H without a cool down.

Between Elixir B, Stim, and tool belt for B you can maintain almost perma swiftness without traiting.

Or – trait for Kit Refinement, and switch to Speedy kits on the fly as you need it.

Ok so here is something of interest to you all that our leader found, If you goto the setting pannel and select show all in the team colours it reduces the lag and cullling slightly.

This setting oddly got me almost back to pre-patch quality. Which is to say it’s broken, but playable.

There have been countless times since this patch came out that I have been able to see enemies from a distance that I would never be able to see before. You all seem to be expecting a perfect solution and to see every player/mob 100% of the time, but this patch never claimed to be that. Explain to me how getting hit by 40+ people that you could never see coming before the patch was playable, but being able to see people (in full or in part) when they come out of a portal, come out of stealth, run through a tower door, or charge from 2500 range is suddenly unplayable?

You’re assuming your experience is the experience everyone else is having. read those threads if you care to understand what a large majority are experiencing.

I used to see 10 or so players render in a large group (25+). Then after 20 seconds or so the rest would render. Now I can’t see allies at random times out of combat. When approaching a large group of enemy I’m lucky to see 5 of them, and the randomly phase out to be replaced by 5 different enemy. In addition my allies aren’t rendered which makes it hard to move tactically with a commander. The is no consistency to who is being rendered when.

It also seems to have made ability lag in large fights worse. I’m not sure if it’s related or not, but this never happened on the scale it does since the patch.

I’m curious to know what kind of machine you’re running as the patch was supposedly a marked improvement for those with lower end machines.

Truthfully, the new system is better. People who say otherwise are deranged. I can see something that I was never able to before: an enemy force moving to my position before they are on top of me dropping aoe. Sure, it isn’t perfect, but it is definitely an improvement. People that keep knocking culling and acting as if it is worse need to understand this was never supposed to solve the issue 100%, simply make it playable, which it did.

I assure you I’m perfectly sane. The game went from playable though sometimes frustrating to completely unplayable.

It is making the game unplayable for some people.

I quit playing on Saturday. Mostly due to the “new and improved” rendering system, though whatever was going on with queues doesn’t help.

It was fun to be in TS and hear someone say their queue popped after 5 minutes when I was in queue for 30+ minutes already.

I keep checking the forum though in hopes ANet will say something about these issues in hopes I can come back and play. Since TV is terrible I’ve had to resort to —gulp-- reading more.

No offense people but most of you complaining about culling are probably playing on some seriously craptastic rigs.

You do realize that your ability to generate and render models is completely relevant to the number of stream processing units in your GPU? If your GPU is a kitten then you should expect having issues rendering 50 or so players instantaneously. Furthermore, as WvW is hosted on a server, your internet connection has to communicate with the server constantly in order for your GPU to accurately render the enemy models and their locations.

In short, if you have a lower end rig and a not so great internet connection, then you need to understand that culling is going to affect you a lot. This is why ANet implemented the low texture placement models; it’s so low end rigs and crappy internet connections can actually put something on the screen in a short amount of time.

Many large scale games suffer from culling issues and most of these issues are spawned from people with lower end rigs. Planetside 2? Yeah.

You have no idea what you’re talking about.

It’s the same “rig” I was using before the change was made.

There is a difference in a drop in Framerate and lag in the context we are talking about.

For your sake though I’ll rephrase: I never experienced lag like we see in GW2. Warhammer was always completely playable for me.

This is about “culling” or whatever ArenaNet wants to call it today. Before this patch would I experience drops in framerate? Yes. The game was still playable, because this issue has nothing to do with framerate.

The difference is I can spend gems and transfer to another server that doesn’t have queue’s (as I did when after 3 weeks JQ had queue times I couldn’t deal with and transferred).

I spend/spent $20+ a week on gems because the game is amazing and I want to support it. Even under the old “culling” system it was playable. It is now completely unplayable. When I hear a commander in TS say “Stay on me, move with me” but I can’t see him/her, and instead run into an also invisible ball of enemy players it’s frustrating on multiple levels.

At least before I could expect 15 players more than were rendered and make some educated guesses as to what they might do until they all rendered (which they eventually did). Now I can see 5 enemy players who then disappear to be replaced by randomly rendered players elsewhere, with no allies rendered so I don’t know where it might be safe to retreat to until I can figure out what the enemy is doing. There is now NO WAY for me to act/react tactically.

So, as I’ve said before ANet, my $20+ a week is gone unless you fix it. Hopefully, others will also speak with their wallets.

Maybe it’s been asked before, but why wasn’t this an issue with Warhammer?

Or was it an issue that I just never saw with Warhammer?

If it wasn’t an issue, why don’t they look at how Bioware/Mythic implemented it? Would it have to big an impact on PvE, completely different engines so it’s not possible?

I really hate no longer being able to support an otherwise amazing game.
