Lets be honest, for giving up two legendaries to make this one the payoff is not equal to the work invested.

Arguably true, but it’s not like they’re fooling anyone. You can find out exactly what you’re getting with a couple minutes of Googling, so in my mind, if you put in the effort, it’s obviously worth it to you, or else you wouldn’t have done it.

I think so too, but still, they can improve it to look ~2x better than its components for people to think it worths crafting.
I also agree that we need other combined super-legendaries for other weapon types too. These are(with other legendaries) the main gold sinks(and goals for many people) of the game and this is the most valuable item, not another ordinary item.
To sum up, I think it’s a design issue, it doesn’t require so much developer effort as many people think here. It’s current situation is good after the last patch, it just needs some mini-fixes as I mentioned in my post above.

I took some screenshots from different races, as you can see, bigger and bulkier characters or males don’t have very visible aura. Charr as heavy class don’t even have visible aura, because it stays inside the character(and armor), it doesn’t scale up with the thickness of a character. That causes aura to look good only on female(slim) characters. Please fix this and add an unified single special aura for both night and day. Night(twilight) aura doesn’t look good and is barely visible compared to day(sunrise) aura. It will be perfect after aura fixes… You can also change the hilt of eternity to distinguish it from twilight and sunrise.
I want to thank designers for this remake anyway.

They started to convert open world content to highly-organization-obligatory content.
Ok, coordination and playing together is good. But what about taxiing problems and trying to join a community(with teamspeak) instance for 30-60 minutes ?
Is this fun ? Imo, no !
I’m getting bored while I’m trying to join the taxi guy’s instance. It takes so long and becomes a boring “in-game dialog” click fest. Click>Instance full>Ok>Click again…
You always fail with pugs, because of the lack of coordination. The game must be more user and pug friendly. They should find a way between organized communities and pugs.

Every weapon for every class idea may sound good but instead of giving non-fitting weapons to every class, they should add new weapon types and give them to their ‘fitting’ classes. Also current weapons can be used by ‘fitting’ classes too.
For example I have a few new weapon ideas : Crossbow (for rangers, engineers, thieves and warriors), Scythe (for necro obv., guardian(dervish style)), Polearm (warrior, guardian, ranger), Chakram (mesmer, ele, thief, necro)… These are my few examples, their number can be increased with many new weapons.
Also some of current weapons may fit other classes. For example rifle (guardian, thief, ranger), dagger (mesmer, ranger), sword/greatsword (necro), shield(ranger) etc…
Class weapon additions must be in balanced numbers, e.g. 5 new weapons per class.
This way one specific class won’t get more love than others.

Actually I think that megaservers allowed people to farm at excessive amounts with more people, that caused more inflation. I think that’s the cause of these nerfs.
Even at the most of very-highly populated servers, champ farming spots were empty and people didn’t want to farm them with solo or with several people due to time/gold ratio.
Then megaservers allowed all servers to farm easily 7/24. I think the solution is, an acceptable level of limit for champ bags per day, not nerfing singular loots. That would be good for normal people, and bad for excessive-farmers and gold sellers.(main causes of inflation)

Did they say every weapon? I have a hard time seeing what use a Warrior, Thief and Engineer would have for a Scepter or Focus.

“I was there” prestige is completely destroyed after the last patch. For example, as one of the first LS backpieces, I liked the karka shell backpiece but now, even a new-starter will easily acquire it via bazaar festival. I think there should be limited edition items, or there’s no point to get them. I want to use rare skins and be different. Old and regular players need some prestige as a reward. Now there’s no rarity nor prestige. That greatly destroys the point to play and get new skins.

Also investment prestige is gone too, due to gold sellers. They sell gold at very cheap rates so everyone gets their legendary in several minutes. That makes legendary items very common. They had to be rare…

If this is a horizontal progression game with aestethic priority, then “skin prestige” must be preserved.

Just got my Eternity Yesterday (Woot!). Looks awesome.
But two things really bug me.

1) Twilight’s aura compared to Sunrise’s is hardy visible on any char, was REALLY disappointed when i only had Twilight. And now the same thing. Day time is awesome, night time is MEH.

2) Can’t see ANY aura on my big charr!!! Looks amazing on my big norn female..the only little bit of aura i can see on my char is..on the lower bottom of the body and between the legs? -.-

I agree, It’s very visible on slim characters but it’s invisible on bulky characters like charr/norn(male). Aura looks great on human female mesmer, while there’s nearly no aura on my charr guardian.

The game’s mechanic has full of multi targeted/aoe skills. This makes zerging unavoidable in both PvE and PvE aspects. Aoe and multi targeted/cleaving skills needs much higher cooldown to prevent spamming. This can allow skilled play in WvW and sPvP without just ‘zerging and zerging’ with multi-target attacks. Old mmos focused on single-target skills, that was why 1v1 ing and skilled play was a thing for these mmos.

AoE is anti zerg, problem is it’s capped to 5 people. If it wasn’t capped people would tend to “zerg” less in WvW. Also try running with organized WvW group, and you would see how much there is to GW2 big group combat. It’s quite fun and awesome btw.
Also from logical point of view, if you attack with the sword (cleave) and there are 3 people in front of you are you only going to hit one or all three?
Only thing I think they should have done is that the enemies that aren’t targete take 50% less damage from that attack(I’m talking about basic attacks not AoE skills).

In this game aoe isn’t anti zerg, think of sPvP for a small scale zerging action. If you are fighting for the middle flag, you get affected from the guys who doesn’t even focus on you while you are fighting with someone else. This ‘unintended’ damage encourages staying together with other players in pvp aspect. This also encourages roaming together in every aspect, and infinite aoe limit can’t prevent this. Even with infinite aoe limit, zergs will still destroy zergs. But it’s already technically impossible for the gameservers in wvw.
With this amount of multi-targeted skills, small scale ‘skilled’ combat in WvW fights is impossible. You will only see steam-roller instant death action if you try to do pvp in wvw.
If you think with a pve aspect, zergs and multi-targeted skills allow you to get more loot in mega events easily without even doing enough damage. Only hitting them 2-3 times with guard staff #1 is enough for loot. So zergs make things ultra-easy in pve too.

What happened ? I just don’t find any real reason to play

New footfalls are awesome but I have to say that aura is still barely visible on big characters(like norn and charr), it needs wider aura like the bifrost. Considering it requires 2x the price of these greatswords, color/texture change like suggested on these threads to distinguish it from its combined parts, twilight and sunrise would be good.

I think, they have to nerf it just for abusive players. How can this be done?
They have to revert the changes back about champ loot bags, and introduce a daily loot bag drop limit. So, excessive farming players won’t get champ loot bags after a point, while normal players get their better loots easier without farming.

An Issue Regarding Legendary Gear

I totally agree with you. I use “The bifrost” (legendary staff) on both my necromancer and guardian, and this is really a big problem for me. I use condi sigils with my dire(ctv) necromancer, and use tanky sigils with my ptv tank guardian. It’s a problem since we can’t really use them as account bound. (Unless we buy expensive sigils again everytime we give them to our another character) Legendaries have swappable stat feature, this makes them really different from ascendeds on account bound status. That means sigils need to be swappable to use with these different stat combos too. Also they are 10-15x more pricey than ascended weapons.

I have 2 alternative suggestions for that, for a constructive comment.

  • Please let us remove and keep sigils from legendary weapons on demand for free. Sigils may become account bound after removed from legendary weapon, to prevent re-selling and to be fair for the tp market.
  • Or let us choose a list of sigils from a menu and use them on legendary weapon for free. (Like pvp build’s sigil selection system and like legendary weapons’ stat selection menu)

I think these changes would make legendaries very viable and functional considering their ultra-high cost. (and going higher everyday due to inflation)

+1 to this design. I think dark and light designs must be combined constantly without day/night cycle.
At day or night it just looks like twilight/sunrise. A better design difference is needed.

Anet should remove 5 vs 5 and add 15 vs 15 and 20 vs 20.

I don’t think they need to remove any game mode or team-size. They should just add 8v8 ones again along with 5v5. Different teamsizes for different tastes. But 15v15 or 20v20 modes need much bigger arenas imo. 8v8 was ideal for hotjoin. 5v5 seems boring to me as I like more action. 5v5 has just slower gameplay with same “all team vs 1 player” combat… As I say, both 5v5 and 8v8 ones must stay for different tastes.

This is your main issue with Eternity? The way it looks like? I’d consider the fact you can craft it, selling and walking away with over 3500g and getting to keep the progressive skins unlock for Twilight & Sunrise to be a greater cause for concern.

Legendaries are high-grade cosmetic items, so cosmetic is the first concern when it comes to legendary weapons. They are the end-game target, so their cosmetics have to be fixed/tuned too.
Also you will lose gold if you craft & sell eternity.
It costs ~4500 gold + karma/exploration etc etc., and tp sell price is only ~3800.

I like my eternity, but the only thing I’m not very happy about is its aura. I find sunrise aura better and more legendary-looking. It needs to have a better aura as it’s a combined and 2x expensive legendary weapon.

They removed it. Do a custom search for 8v8s and above and keep tabs on those. Join when there’s a space.

Yeah, I’m currently using that but custom servers are generally empty. Official 8v8 servers are needed like before in addition to 5v5 ones. Teams are currently so unpopulated for my taste. I respect 5v5 lovers, but I don’t like it in hotjoin.

I really hoped eotm to be a better PvP zone than WvW, but it’s just a pve farming area now. Zergs don’t even want to fight, they change their directions when they see each other.
Arenanet has to completely rework on it from head to toe. PvD’ing and PvE farming must be removed from eotm, and Player vs Player fights must be encouraged. There’s already tons of champ farming places for PvE. And PvD is a normal WvW maps thing, why deal with doors for hours if you don’t support your server ? Eotm must be full of PvP combat with more action.

Today, I got 8-9 whispers from spam bots. They were still bombarding my chat box although I had reported&blocked all of them. They have so many accounts for spamming. It really started to be annoying after this point… They were sending only 1 messages for a day, but they are constantly spamming now. Please arenanet, find a solution for both their advertisement spams and gold selling. They manipulate in-game market, cause inflation, and allow ppl to buy legendaries in 1 day without effort. Annoying spams are just an extra.

If you don’t care about WvW (sounds like it, since you just want map completion) you can always transfer to another server… Now with the megaservers, the only thing that can keep you in a server is if you are loyal to it’s WvW.

Now you gonna say “So I will have to pay to get my map completion?”. Well, your other options are: Hoping Anet to do a change (unlikely) or Helping your server to capture the points you need (sound unlikely to me too, as you don’t seen to be a wvw player).

I care about WvW and play WvW like at least 2 hours per day, but I still can’t get a WvW completion on my new alt because of constant green team assignment.
I currently already have 3x world completion on my other characters, but none of them were that hard. Spending 3400 gems(1000, +2400 for returning to home server) for just a WvW completion is not so logical. This is why I suggested color variation per matchup. I’m not looking for a solution with current status(as I already know them), this is why I suggested this as a QoL improvement for all players. With current status I’ll desperately wait for another month, hoping that my server gets some garrisons&eb keeps when I’m online.(prime time) Maybe it starts to alternate again after the tournament.(I hope)

Currently it depends on server ranking, so if your server is very successful and stays on top, or stays at bottom for weeks, that means you will always fight with the same color.
If you are trying to complete map on t1 servers, you will understand what I mean.
It’s really a mess on t1/high-grade servers as we very rarely cap enemy keeps or garrisons(at non-prime time hours which many players can’t be online) , every team just try to hold/defend their own side. That means we have to spend about 10x more time than mid-ranked servers just to complete WvW, which isn’t fair.
In my opinion, team color needs to be separated from ranking, thus color variation would allow us to play from different aspects of WvW maps and allow us to complete maps in a normal sequence. My server has been green for more than a month(maybe more) without having any different color.

Yes I think like that too. If mobs had better ai kinda like dueling players, zerker builds wouldn’t be the only option. Supporting builds would be needed.
Mobs are so easy to kill, I don’t mean their hp, you can just stack and dps them to their death. This is why I don’t do dungeons or pve in this game.

They all spam the same message or variants of that message. Is it really that hard to automatically detetct and ban them from the game? They advertise their gold selling website all day. I think your solution is not a real solution, real solution is implementing an auto-detetct/ban mechanism for gold sellers and their spammer bots. Besides their spams, gold sellers already ruin the game via inflation and unfair rmt.

Hi,
Is it better to have Soldier or Celestial gear for WvW zerg farming ?
Weapon choice will be Staff/Greatsword. I need maximum survivability while tagging as many as enemies possible. I need a well balanced survivability/tagging ability.
My current build gives self healing on applying boons to teammates, but I’m not sure if it will scale good with healing power of celestial set or not. Does it worth sacrificing some toughness/vitality/power for healing power and precision/ferocity ?

I’ve tried many builds, yet my favorite one is still dire condition build. I have 2400-2500 condition damage when my wvw veteran buffs, corruption stacks and sigil of battle are up. Go only for condition damage, don’t even care about duration because they get cleansed fast in zergs. I easily tag many people, only my staff #2(3 stacks of bleed) deals ~500 damage per second to each target. Plus I have tons of aoes thanks to scepter/dagger – staff combo. I use 2xwells and poison cloud as utilities. It’s also the most tanky necro build along with these, thanks to dire stat combo.

I don’t know about pve build diversity but if you play tPvP(solo/teamQ) you will see that ~90% of players use the single meta build of their class. There’s no creativity about builds because there isn’t enough traits, and many of existing ones are unbalanced. One build or trait combination becomes op and every player starts to use it. They just copy and paste it without developing new playstyles/techniques. For an example, all warriors were using the same hambow+regen build for months.

Gw2 is the most casual/easy mmorpg I have ever played. Instead, I want to see more hardcore grindy stuff in this game.

In-combat stealth is a broken op mechanic, and it needs more counter skills from all classes, not only engineers. Other games have stealth too but generally only for stealthed roaming, not in combat.

LA needs to be rebuilt, but without simply reverting it to its previous state via easy way.
Things and tyria has changed, so lion’s arch must be changed too. They have to build it
with a different style, different buildings. So we can call it the new lions arch.
