I am too kittened off with the pseudo balance team. Actually i paid for this game and their work, sorry guys if i hurts your feelings, is awful, you are losing players every day.

And, know what? the reason for the community get angry is because in every patch and preview you show a complete IGNORANCE about your OWN GAME’S professions. That is what the people hate most.

I totally agree with you. If this is not “skillful” then I want them to define “skillful”.
While thieves are facerolling ppl with only one button, one 2s burning trait is not skillful. Just L O L.
There’s only 2 kind of thieves: 5 2 2 2 thieves and 3 3 3 thieves. spam skill 3 with your s/d to win.
What about warriors ? Spam hammer ccs with enormous damage and faceroll your opponent into the ground.
And dhuumfire is not skillful…

Zerkers were op in pve, and now they are fixing it. It is a fix, not nerf. As some guys said above, if everything gets buffed then the game starts to be too easy. Most people want challenging content to stay in game, not easy speedruns. Bunker, Condition and Healing power builds must be a part of pve too. Not everyone wants to do speed runs with warriors, don’t forget this. People want challenging content in pve. This isn’t even a proper fix, they have to improve mob ai in great amount to allow build/class diversity. For example, to defeat evading, running, stealthing, cc’ing mobs you would need different classes/different builds. They currently stay in front of you without even moving, this makes them to be killed with zerkers and zerker gs warriors easily.

So currently:

Dhuumfire: 3s burn on crit, every 10 seconds, grandmaster trait

Incendary Powder: 4s burn on crit, every 10 seconds, master trait

How is it that Dhuumfire is OP and needs a nerf while Incendary Powder is not OP and doesn’t need to be touched?

I have both a condi engineer and a condi necro but it seems like they are basing their nerfs on popular opinion.

I agree, my secondary is engineer and I can have better variant of dhuumfire in master trait(incendinary powder), with 7s of burning in spvp. I don’t miss ds because I have elixir s which absorbs all the damage like ds.(sometimes even better, because it doesn’t overflow)
Popular opinions you mean is, looking other classes through warrior’s eyes. Because warrior has the most players and is the most popular class, mostly their opinions apply for balance patches.
Necro was a great counter for this class, and warriors started QQ’ing, now they say “don’t QQ” when we criticize their op 10s berserker stance and other op abilities like hp regen, cc spam.

I’m not very experienced on warrior at spvp, but I’ve rolled my pve warrior as hambow/stance for spvp and voila i can faceroll many classes much much easier than my other classes. I can easily say that warrior as a class is op, I’m not even experienced with warrior, in experienced players’ hands it will be an undying faceroll machine. This is not only because this healing signet, because stances are also op too. Warrior-only players qq because they don’t want to be nerfed to use warrior skillfully.

try playing your warrior against skilled players (non warriors) and then come back again when you have done so.

As I say I’m not experienced with warrior, I’m sure an experienced warrior can easily faceroll other skilled players of other classes. Two players must be in same skill level with their classes to determine that.

I mainly play necro but thinking about crafting a predator to my engi(my secondary) because there’s currently no legendary weapon suits necro.(I have a bifrost, yes)
Do you guys think it worths to craft for an engi ? Because we mainly use kits, our rifle won’t be able to be visible most of the time. I also bought a jetpack, but sadly kit bags appear over it and makes a bad view. I think they have to find a solution for engineer vanity, as this is a cosmetic game.

If this burning on ds skill #1 is not requiring a trait waste, then it’s good. But if it requires to spend points on a trait, it’s just a garbage. Because condi builds don’t even use life blast so much at all. Plus 10s of icd for a subset skill is just wrong. They can make its burning 1s but without icd, this would make life blast useful for condi builds too. 1k dmg + 1 ticks of burning. It’s currently not as effective as power or dps builds on condi builds.

It’s also ridiculous when necros always get nerfed great amount, but op warriors’ healing signet only gets 8% nerf. Berserker stance(8-10s) endure pain durations stay the same. Isn’t it ridiculous ?

They have to convert the berserker stance duration to it’s previous duration. It was 4s before now it’s 8s base, 10s with trait which is a faceroll for condi builds. Not only this signet makes a warrior op, also 2x endure pain, balanced stance and ridiculously long berserker stance.

Hi, I’ll try to make a constructive suggestion for solo arenas as I mostly play without a team in tpvp. I’ve played for long in tpvp, and found some issues of matchmaking system.

Players’ “pvp skill” must be a thing to balance teams, you developers can write an algorithm to identify good players, and match them with good ones when forming a team. These good teams must be matched to other good teams. You won’t have the same “player skill ranking” on your all classes, it depends on the class you are currently playing.(maybe we can also call it class skill ranking) When you start a new class as an alt, your skill point will be zero, and you will be regarded as a newbie. Players with lower skill ranking, casual players, or new spvp players must be matched together as well to have a good gameplay experience, and learn the game’s pvp aspect. You will be matched with this kind of players when you start a new class, and when you prove yourself you will go up and up. Win or loss and pvp level(because it can be farmed or made in hotjoin) mustn’t be a thing for mmr.

How this “player skill ranking” algorithm can be made ? : You can determine a player’s skill by logging/recording his/her 1v1 and 1v2 experiences, wins or losses against different classes, ability to hold capture points. Also his durability in hard situations like area fights or 1v3/1v2.
His “player/class skill ranking” is determined per class. If he starts with a new class(that he never played before), his player skill ranking for this class will be zero, and will go up by these procedures I mentioned above.

This system can be implemented to both solo and team arenas(when you enter as solo).

And another problem, for example, when you see 3 mm necros or 3 guards(maybe plus hambows) in the oppossing team you know you will lose.
This can be vice versa, you can have 3-4 elementalist or thieves in your team, that will make you lose directly.
Current team class balance system is not adequate, it would be better if you balanced class numbers in teams while matchmaking process. Also you can prevent switching classes after joining a match to keep these numbers equal or max number of 2 when doing matchmaking. I think not able to switching wouldn’t be a problem after my first suggestion(player skill ranking) is implemented. Because the player will be matched with the players of his skill ranking, and class numbers in teams will be good to have a fair round.

Skyhammer is my favourite map, and I do not want it to be removed. It´s the only map that really feels different from the others at least for me. Most of the time in solo queue you can plan with your team who is doing what while waiting for the game to start, that’ s the point of the /t chat. And if no one is taking the skyhammer during the game, why don’t you go yourself?

I really hate when this map comes, i think it simply doesn’t fit Tpvp gameplay.
It’s like a fun map with jps, and to have some fun with launch cc.
If you don’t have a team, you are always forced to play with pugs in soloq and ppl sometimes don’t even care about hammer and simply give it to enemies’ hands. When you are pvp’ing with your opponent it continuously rains to your head, you have to either avoid this leaving your opponent to heal with ease or stay in mark and die. Think this situation when you play with uncoordinated pug teams that can’t get skyhammer. This is so annoying. This map just doesn’t fit to play with pug teams, it becomes really annoying compared to other maps.
Having skyhammer = win in this map and it’s really annoying as a non pvp element, why can’t we just have pvp prioritized normal maps in tpvp? Please think about pug teams too. I’m looking from TPvP SoloQ aspect here.

Staying rooted after knockdown or immobilize

Where this happens ? : This bug generally happens to me at s/tpvp and wvw.

What’s the cause ? : Being hitted with a player’s knockdown or immobilize skills.

What’s the problem ? : After being hitted with knockdown/immobilize (and maybe another cc?), your character can’t move and stays rooted to its position. Only thing to get out of this situation is using movement skills. If you don’t have one, you are rooted in this position till you die.

Viability of the Terrormancer

It is still okish but now engineer can do the condition bombing better. why would anyone turn down a better dumbfire in master level slot while the necromancer gets the worse version in grand-master still hurts my head…
recent balance update removed 1 bleed stack from MoB and weakening shroud got…weakened or rather demolished along with the previous nerfs to Grasping dead. so we lost some bleed burst sacking potential and weakness up-time but you could make up for it with double geomancy sigils. I recommend Lyssa runes for the stability unless you enjoy being tossed around for sport with hammers and engi’s CCs.

if you do Tpvp, running minion master instead of terrormancer is preferred but that doesnt mean you cant run terror effectively.

i agree, my main is necro and secondary is engi. engi has the better trait(with longer burning) in master line. you can deal perma burning with engi, plus many other condis and ccs. but fear is what defines a necro. you can apply conditions easily during fear. it’s a good counter against perma evade s/d thieves and hambows which engis suffer a lot more.

If you are that hardcore player which enters to l49-50 fotm, it wouldn’t be hard for you to craft all those ascendeds. Btw there’s no reason or a real reward to play fractals after having all ascendeds (boring to do the same thing over and over), this is just a paradox.

It’s kinda personal taste, i find fractal skins ugly. They released a lot better skins with bl chests plus there’s legendaries. But I respect your opinion, it’s just a personal taste.

The problem isn’t necro’s support options, the problem is how other people see necros.
they only prioritize dps, teamsupport is nothing for them. necros have great heal and teamsupport abilities, but who cares? as long as you can’t do enough damage like berserker warriors they don’t care. you are just a loss of efficiency in party. this is because pve aspect of the game is only focused to offense and dps. and this is because mobs don’t have proper ai to evade, defend, run move etc. they just stay in front of greatswords. this encourages zerker warriors in parties. if they had mobility and different skills, and acted kinda like dueling players, parties would need all kinds of classes to support them. maybe some parties would require chill/fear to disable monsters with high mobility. the game lacks 2 of 3 roles. tanks and healer builds.

From what I understand once I change servers I can’t even guest back to the one I was originally on and have access to the bank I made there either.

If you Guest back to your guild’s original server, all the upgrades(including the Vault and its contents) you had will be there waiting for you.

No, you are incorrect, I’ve personally tried this. I forgot some items at my personal guild bank at my old server. Guested to there, but I couldn’t access the bank. I invited my friend(at my old server) to my guild, waited for 72 hours and he withdrew items and sent them to me via mail. So, guild banks which you can access are based on your home server. Upgrades and guild bank stays there but you can’t access it as long as it’s not your home server.

There will be alot of balance issues. For example engineer. At the moment max dps is a rotation with or without grenades. If they nerf the critical dmg for example only 15%. Rampager nades will top everything.
Bombkit (AA) Flamethrower (2) Elixirgun (4), Toolkit (3), Rifle (3/5) will get much worse then now. U can choice your style of gaming an engineer. There are a few nearly equal possibility. Nerfing zerkers will ruin them.

You are just looking from dps side, which I didn’t mean it only. Try a berserker ele/thief in dungeons, would be the squishiest thing in the game. Even cof bosses can one hit kill them. With this, warriors can have better armor with acceptable hp, with ultra high dps. Plus if you equip stance invulnerabilities it will equal to a thief or ele’s tanky build. Problem is this, other classes get one shotted with full zerker gear, while warriors are a lot better in terms of survivability as a zerker. This is why people are only seeking for zerker warriors for dungeons. In every aspect, zerker only pve meta is not acceptable for an mmo. They have to make it more challenging by requiring more teamsupport. Healing and bunker(tank) builds must be required in pve parties like all other mmos. Don’t forget, not everyone wants to play as dps. In s/tpvp & wvw we have freedom to choose our build without losing any efficiency. They have to allow this in pve too by adding better ai and challenging bosses. Mobs are so dumb and just waiting in front of hundred blades, this is the main reason makes zerker builds viable.

Zerker needs to be nerfed, badly. I’m not necessarily opposed to a free respec on zerker gear like what they did with MF, but I don’t really think anyone is entitled to it either.

It’s odd how the people who say “zerker needs teh nerfbat!!”, never come up with a valid reason as to why that should be the case.

ascended crafting is so easy for a normal, regular player. if you are extremely casual, then you can go for exotics. they don’t even make noticable difference for that gold.

if you don’t use terror in 1v1 situations you will have a bad time.
fear is a great counter against hambows, perma evade(s/d) thieves and mesmers.
the most important point is stacking your conditions very fast while they are fleeing. otherwise they will spam evades(thieves) or clones 9494947 times till you die.

they can add one-time stat selection for ascended zerker gears only, that can be the solution. it’s good that zerker only meta is being removed from the game. speedruns and skips(mostly glitches) mustn’t exist for a challenging, harder gameplay.

Maybe not salvaging, but they can add upgrade recipes for the legendaries of same type when new legendary weapons are added to the game. For example current greatswords can be upgraded to new greatswords with some kind of recipe. (also provides a gold sink)

Seriously, what’s the use of mortar when there’s grenades ? Grenades have 1500 range and do better, faster dmg with mobility. They have to increase mortar’s range to 2500 and make its radius 300-ish to make it an “elite” skill. It’s not an “elite” skill currently.

is the standard condi meta. from there you can customize it to your playstyle. for example i run adventurer runes over nightmare.

30/30/0/0/10 is extremely fragile for not enough reward.

When I go for alchemy line, I normally prefer protection injection over backpack regen. Do you think br has better defensive ability compared to pi for some point?
I prefer pi because ppl generally use metas in tpvp and using so much cc/disable effects.(pu mesmer/cc warrior etc)

The closest thing we have to a meta build is 30/0/0/30/10 or 30/0/20/20/0. These builds are usually rabid amulet, semi-tanky condition bruisers; nades, usually bombs, sometimes elixir gun, elixir S, flamethrower, or toolkit.

If you want to keep using your own full dps build, just move some points from firearms to tools and pick up static discharge. What kits/utilities are you currently using?

Don’t expect to find an easy facerolling/1v1 build with the engineer, though. Not that bomb/nade builds aren’t crazy good, they just take…some practice.

I was using rifle – bomb/nade kits + elixir s combination. I’m immobilizing with rifle #2 and bomb #5 then landing grenades, then i switch back to rifle and use jump shot to get closer and do some burst damage. Do you recommend any other utility slot skills for tpvp ? I tried tool kit but it requires you to get in melee range, it’s kinda risky to use for dps builds against hammers. (good for blocking and dealing confusion tho)

Other classes has very decent, op-ish meta builds for easy facerolling/1v1. Don’t engis have such, specific build ? Can you experienced engis please help me on current tpvp/dueling builds ? All I find is old builds, game is being balanced with every patch and I don’t know what is engi’s current meta. I feel like useless against other classes’ metas.(hambow, pu, perma evade etc.) I’m currently using my own build and I’m not happy with that in tpvp. (30 30 0 0 10 full dps condi or zerk) It’s good for hotjoin tho.

All kind of spam or meta builds(of every class) must be nerfed for pvp to encourage build variation and new play styles. I play mostly tpvp, and almost every player uses the same meta build of their class. Almost all warriors are hambow, all thieves are perma evade, all mesmers are pu, all necros are mm, all rangers are spirit, all engis are p/s etc. (ofc there are some original players) This is so monotone, we want to see some personalized build variety in pvp. All players are like copy/paste of each other currently.

Why players prefer these meta builds ? Because these are easier to use and has much more damage output/defensive countermeasures compared to other builds.

What can be made ? All of these builds has the same thing in common, spamming.
You can increase internal cooldowns of their effective abilities to prevent these effects to be spammed. For example: ccs, pet spawning, stealth, evade etc.
New metas will always continue to show up, this can’t be one-time process.

Thieves has very good access to vigor and endurance gaining. In addition to their evade specialty, perma evading with attack skills makes sword builds op. If you play against a well-made evade build, you won’t even deal damage with some classes.

Solution : Each skill with evade allows evade for once, they won’t allow player to evade after the first use. It is to prevent spamming the same thing consecutively. Also 5+2 d/p perma stealth build needs more internal cooldown for stealth. With that, you can give thieves some more hp/toughness buff to compensate these spam nerfs. Please de-emphasize all kinds of spam builds in pvp including cc, pet, stealth, evade spams etc.

Please Give Necro Marks Unique Animations

If it becomes predictable, then what will be the necro’s speciality ? Necro is an instant-caster class unlike elementalist. And this is how marks work. They deal so little damage to compensate this, they even nerfed them more by reducing bleed stacks
to 2.

If you want such thing, then also add glowing dagger sign to stealthed thieves’ heads and slowdown their attacks so we can predict their backstab skills and position…

Speaking from the aspect of a condition necro, no other weapon is better than staff, dagger/axe is melee(yes 600 range axe requires staying at melee range too) and don’t even deal decent damage with power builds like warrior or thief, also their channel time is so long/slow to deal a damage spike/burst. Plus they don’t have disabling cc(knockdown, launch, stun, fear), disabling cc is vital part of other classes’ weapons. Without cc, a weapon needs pure, high damage but these weapons have neither of them. Staff may be bad, but there’s worse weapons if you try to prefer others. This is why there’s only 2 really viable builds for necros in 1v1, powermancer MM and pure condition. Necros close the damage spike gap with minions instead of weapons currently, or just use conditions/fear like in old days. This is what I see from necros in tpvp.

Why people prefer wvw/pve over pvp?

Pvp is point cap only while you have more options/gang roaming in wvw.

Play evade thief or hambow for a while till next balance. Other ones are vain.

An evade thief can always faceroll an engi. You won’t even be dealing damage.

They have to add server color variation to every week to fix this problem.
Removing wvw from map completion is not a solution. As you hate completing wvw for world completion, we pvp players hate completing pve maps. So both has to stay to appeal to two kinds of playerbase.

I’m just disposing them. Why do we even need to keep excess amounts of them ? :P

Perhaps they will be able to be sold one day, and then disposing of them would have been a bad idea.

but keeping them also indirectly requires karma/money. so -1 +1 = 0 in hands.
