I don’t want to generalize all people but many people(including me) prefer and enjoy pvp or massive zerg fights in wvw, instead of autoattacking gates for hours, or carrying supplies/building sieges.
So wouldn’t it be better if there was an alternative zone like eotm without any non-pvp objectives and sieges for pvp-fight lovers ? For example I want non-stop pvp action and fighting, I get really bored when our commander starts to build sieges and capture towers. I log out in 30mins or so when it turns to a tower capping train. I think a seperate, optional wvw-like zone for this would be good for pvp or massive fight addicts like me. It can be an overflow/optional map like eotm without affecting wvw score and normal wvw fan community. But It would make pvpers of wvw very happy. Getting points in this map can be based on kills/party wipes without any pvd/point capture.
That’s a good idea, I really liked that feature on eso.
It happens. Sometimes playing without a tactic is a lot faster, and people can’t see it.
Gw2 has the best mmorpg graphics, and it’s not a personal opinion. Everyone can compare games and see it themselves. Even archeage isn’t close to gw2 although they claim that it uses cryengine3.
For new mmos, eso is the only close one to gw2 graphics(but is still obviously worse than gw2), and wildstar is the worst looking one among new mmos.
What gw2 graphics lack is optimisation, it is impossible to get good fps even with gtx 690 or titan in WvW battles.

I think, we need better achievement rewards after 15-20k achievement points.
For example new, high-class weapon skin sets, armor sets, ascended rewards etc. At this point I find ap grinding kinda pointless, as I don’t need these boots anyway.
High-class skins that look as good as(but not the same skins!) current 400-600g exotic skins(like wolcanus, spirit weapons etc.) are needed as high ap rewards.
Current zenith skins aren’t rare as they can be obtained even with 1000 ap.
I think we need special, rarer, better looking skins which can’t be obtained before15-20k ap.
As we can see, the main point/progression in the game is ap grinding, so it would be better with new rewards.
What do you think ?
Because most people want “real changes and innovations” in game, not some “new events” called living story.
In-game character story, map zones, dungeons/raids, pvp modes etc. is still untouched and stays without new content. If you stopped playing 12-15 months ago, you will not find any noticable difference after all these time because nearly all the content is temporary. An expansion would add tons of new permanent content and features to the game to keep players playing the game.

Marriage
Mounts
Harder gameplay
These are the best features of korean mmos, I think euro/american mmos need these too.
Warrior, because it’s op in dungeons.
I can’t believe how a person gets 3 precursors from mf in a day, and some others spend hundreds of gold and get nothing. Sometimes when I don’t play for a long time, I get more exotic drops from wvw and dungeons, when I play with everyday routine, I get noticably less drops even no exotic for 1-2 weeks. I don’t wanna put a conspiracy theory here but, I think gameplay frequency is one of these “variables” for “luck”(I won’t say rng) with some other variables. One of my friends was playing seldomly(like 1-4hours per week) he got a dusk from karka event chest. I played for more than 2.6k hours and the most valuable drop I’ve ever got is 50g worth. If it was determined by a fixed rng % chance we would see similar drop rates per 2000 hours of gameplay. Some people get 3-4 precursors in a day with a low investment, while some people haven’t even seen a valuable drop in 2-3k hours of gameplay.
Looks like there’s bad news about greater marks with the next balance patch. That’s from speculated patch notes :
Death Magic VII—Greater Marks: This trait no longer increases the radius of marks.
I think staff marks need to be 240-radius as default without even requiring a trait. They are already limited to 5 targets only, and have easily curable condition damage without enough base direct-damage.
With the latest necro nerfs, that kind of slight buff would be good for necro’s main aoe role.
Staff #1 (auto attack) must bounce on targets or deal 1 stack of torment on hit. It’s currently one of the most underpowered(and slow) auto attacks in the game.
Also with the removal of dhuumfire from normal attacks, we need our greater marks trait at the adept tier again. It was moved to master because of dhuumfire balances.
Without 240 radius, marks are useless imo.
Also staff #4 needs to apply its blast finisher just when it’s casted, but the mark mustn’t be triggered without an enemy on it.
WvW and PvP is the end game to have some fun. PvE is limited because there’s no item grinding options in gw2, after you get all ascended, legendary and best-in-slot items, PvE is over, there’s no reason to farm dungeons over and over ever again after this point. In other games what keeps people to play pve is item grinding. For example, in WoW you do raids to get some gear drops and share them with the guild. In an item-balanced game like this, PvE can’t give you any better reward after you easily get all the best stat items. WvW and PvP are what keeps hardcore players playing in Gw2 after they pass the point I describe above. I really wish they equally develop PvP/WvW and PvE together. In previous 1 year of gw2, PvE obviously got more attention while sPvP is still looks like a beta, WvW still has many issues including lag, pop issues etc.
Condition damage is continuously cureable while direct-damage isn’t. Just play as a condition build and you will find why condition builds suck. They always get removed without giving a proper damage. They’ve added so many hard counters against conditions while there’s no real hard counters against warrior stun spams or physical damage.
Warrior’s only weak point/counter was condition damage, then with buffs warrior became uber op against condition builds. Berserker stance must return to it’s original state(4s duration) and cleansing ire must be moved to grandmaster tier with a slight nerf.
Just think wvw raid guilds, they don’t want condition builds in their raids and bully condi using members because they know that conditions suck and don’t do dps because of over-cleansing. There are so many negative sides of conditions, conditions are nowhere near physical damage.

let us wear light armor
replace longbow with staff
swap spirits and pets
They can add a new class “Ritualist” for that. (From Gw1)
As a ranger lover, I always feel like pets are useless in WvW zerg fights. You can’t simply send a pet to enemy zerg.
I just dream this : An option to completely stow your pet from pet menu(K) and gain 20% attack buff for your character to play without pet for your optional preference. That would make nice archers from rangers in WvW, and possibly new builds for crowded fights.
Necromancer class needs more weapon choices for new builds. As you can see,
when traits and utilites are taken into consideration, necromancer is a condition-weighted character. But conditions lose their viability with every patch, so proper power based equivalents are needed. Current power based weapons are melee or mid-melee range without cleave or aoe option, this makes them impossible to be used against zerg fights in wvw or pvp since necros are so vulnerable to damage and cc without even having mobility for being a melee fighter.
Clearly, 1200 ranged power based, at least one single target and at least one aoe based direct-damage weapons are needed for necro. Also, more direct damage based traits and utilities are needed to remove dependency to conditions.
As for minions, they have terrible AI even worse than ranger pets. Most of the time , flesh golem just waits afk behind player while he is attacking/fighting. This is why minions are unreliable source of damage.
For minions these fixes are needed first.
1. A real fix for minion AI and attack problems.
2. Extra shortcut control buttons and/or on screen UI for minions to give orders like attack/defend/don’t attack. This UI will appear when at least one minion utility is equipped.
3. Underwater equivalent for flesh golem(possibly a dead shark) with same kind of huge cc attack.(underwater rush maybe?)

It’s really interesting, don’t they see that majority of players want permanent content ?
I want to see this game developing bigger and bigger with continuous addition of permanent content as a gw2 fan. Temporary content doesn’t make the game bigger in scale, when living story ends it won’t stay here unlike permanent contents. For example, after 1.5 years break, a player won’t find many noticable differences in game except some minor permanent additions. Eotm kind of patches/ls are good ones in terms of perma content. I think temporary living story is just a waste of time and workforce for arenanet in terms of making the game better with more content. We need new maps, new storylines, new classes, new features(raids, housing, gvg championship, sandbox features(yes this is the future of mmorpgs) etc.) and also more pvp content along with pve content with every patch.
Npcs always have better profession abilities. For example trahearne is a powerful necro too, in a story mission he gathers power and spawns 5-10 flesh golems at once.
Personally I don’t think ascended armor worth all these effort and gold too. I’m not casual and I have over 6k accumulated gold, but it’s still pointless to me. I don’t have any ascended armor piece, since I think full ascended trinkets and asc/leg weapons are enough. I’d rather wait for stat-changeable legendary armor. At least it would worth the effort. Other than these, asc armor crafting is easy but definitely doesn’t worth it for single stat selection with only 4-5% stat increase. At least 10% stat increase compared to exotics is needed. And high-value single stat items are bad because builds are being constantly buffed/nerfed for balance. I wouldn’t spend my gold for an item with unclear future.
This is so optimistic that even makes polyanna look pessimistic.
Because in a fantasy world, you are the who you want to be. Colors and gender don’t matter.
I think people generally choose color by character’s good/evilish look. Necromancers generally prefer black skin and black armor while guardians prefer white/blue themes.
Also 70% of my friends use female characters and they are all male. I think, people don’t care about creating a character with their real-world looks.
A service to transfer my 100% world completion to one of my other characters would do the same. I only care for world completion, otherwise re-rolling an alt is easy.
But yeah, I don’t think people who wants to change their character’s race care about their personal stories. They can add a gemstore race change service with a personal story cleaning procedure. Both arenanet and players would be happy.

Ppl have been saying this for 18+ months and the sky still hasn’t fallen.
Majority of wvw and pvp community left the game. My entire wvw guild and many wvw raid guilds moved to other mmos. Sometimes I feel like I’m the only one stays in the game from old wvw/pvp community. As long as the game prioritise pve and casual players, it will lose many more.
R30 is so easy for legendary weapons, please make it R100 for it to be a real legendary.
They have to add this and other new pvp features/pvp zones to the game, or majority of players will move to other new mmos. There’s no other choice than adding new features for the future of the game.
Pve players that whine so much about pvp is annoying. Pvp/WvW players were forced to pve for a long time and they weren’t whining like this.
This is why this game’s pvp/wvw doesn’t develop and loses its hardcore players to other mmos. They always listen to QQing casuals while hardcore players are quitting.
I like this game but lost many friends in gw2 to other mmos just because of the lack of pvp system, and people are still whining about new pvp/wvw maps and achievements. Sorry but by listening this kind of playerbase, this game can’t develop further.

Those aren’t as annoying as skyhammer for me, but I really wanted a map without pvd and with full of fights, sadly there’s still some boring pvd action in eotm.

Legendaries are a WvW weapon. WvW participation should be required.
Legendaries are a PvE weapon. PvE should be the only requirement.
Which one is the more selfish statement?
Well, most of the people craft legendaries for wvw because wvw is generally chosen as an endgame place. So wvw participation must be required. If It has to be removed, then dungeon tokens and pve participation obligations must be removed too.
I have so many friends who buy their legendaries with credit card just to avoid doing pve stuff. Making it depend only to either pve or wvw is bad for different types of players.
If you want to craft a legendary weapon as a WvW player, you are forced to PvE. You need gift of exploration(which includes much more PvE maps than WvW), dungeon tokens from PvE etc. So the new WvW rank requirement is good since badge of honor now drops from achievement chests without even entering WvW.
Then with your logic, WvW players has to cry like : “Stop forcing us to grind PvE, the game forces players to do PvE and dungeons for legendaries QQ”
The right thing is, being a little forced in WvW is better than solely being forced in PvE. The game has to adress both PvE and WvW players and ofc SPvP players in the future after SPvP is connected via currencies etc. to other modes.

Some of our friends say that they have completed the achievement in the same story instance of rox & delaqua. We’ve waited for a time after XP reward, but nothing has happened. They got the chest somehow without entering eotm map. Has anyone else completed this achievement ?

Will we see more fight-action in wvw ? Currently I see more PvD(Player vs Door) than actual fights.

Are you planning to give players more goals to achieve(more goals to play for) in wvw ? (other than achievement points) That would keep existing players playing.

I think, the main problem is developers are wasting so much effort, work force and time for temporary content like living stories. Living story doesn’t add anything to the game since all content is temporary. The game doesn’t get bigger and bigger this way. They could have spent all of this effort to permanently improve pvp system, wvw system and they could add new permanent maps/zones to tyria, and dungeon raids for pve. After all these living stories, there will be nothing in our hands since no permanent content was added. Also pvping is generally an end game for most mmos, but it’s underrated in gw2 as an end game content. It really lacks new modes and goals to achieve to keep players playing every day. I really want to see gw2 developing and popular among players as a gw2 fan, this is why I want to see permanently added content.
Skyhammer isn’t a problem as a map, but it doesn’t belong to soloQ as it’s a trolling, jp-like map.
It doesn’t suit to tournament pvp mode as it’s more about taking control of the hammer by launching foes to ground than competitive pvping.
Yes, I personally hate this map too as I prefer to fight instead of trolling ppl with ccs. It suits hotjoin only, nowhere else.

I totally agree, these kind of achievements must be personal achievements. If I do everything right, I should get this achievement reward without relying on my disc/lane’s success.
2 weeks is so short for a hard living story like this. It’s not soloable, so we rely on our server/overflow’s success. Tried 7 times so far without luck. We really need luck for this one.
You have to succeed in breaking the chain, Umut. As in, YOUR ENTIRE LANE MUST SUCCEED PHASE 2.
Sadly this is the part that will haunt me as well, completing all these phases and getting the achievements. T_T
Is one dodge enough or do we have to dodge all attacks in that tier ? (sword, stomp scream etc.)
I can’t complete “Marionette Lightfoot” achievement, I dodged all of her stomps and finished phase 2, 5 tries without luck. Do we also rely on other people in our disc ?
My lane was succeeded finishing phase 2. I think these kind of achievements must be personal.

And another annoying thing is you can’t get your server’s main instance, I entered 30min before event and I’ve been exiled to overflow server. What do I have to do, wait for 2 hours sitting there afk ?
Also dodged all stomps but I didn’t get the achievement with this 5 tries.
This living story is not fun because of these reasons really.

I personally want largos as a playable race, their cultural armor style fits dark characters well. It would make nice necros/thieves and heavy characters.
