I think there’s so many aoes because the game strongly depends on zerg mechanics.
There’s zerg everywhere, even in spvp hotjoin. WvW is already a ZvZ.
Other games had longer combat time because they were encouraging small group combats with healers. Also they had single-targeted skills to allow that.
Fight mechanics must be reconstructed from head to toe to reduce amount of aoes in this game. I think that would be good to prevent zerging.
Hammer isn’t nerfed significantly. They still deal 5-6k with earthshaker, 6k with bow #3 etc.
Yet they are still not glassy for trade off, they can tank at least as good as a tanky ele.(as a berserker) Because they have 3x invulnerability skill while some classes have hardly one or none. In every tpvp match I play against at least 2 hambow wars. They are currently a meta, so your statement is kinda right.
Conquest mode is best mode. It actually enforces teamplay and makes it so a team has to split up instead of zerg on one point for 20 minutes.
But in hotjoin zergs still always win, your statement only applies to tpvp.
Hotjoin = Better zerg wins, like wvw.
I’m just disposing them. Why do we even need to keep excess amounts of them ? :P
It’s not even rewarding for all of this effort. People wanted hard-to-defeat bosses, they got it. Now, no one is going to teq.

Actually every kind of spam build is annoying and must be nerfed in order to encourage players to use other builds, other than metas. “Nearly” every ranger plays spirit build, every necro plays minion build, every mesmer plays clone spam build… Every warrior plays hambow/or hammaceshield cc spam, every thief plays evade spamming/stealth spamming one button/5-2 builds etc. These meta builds are really annoying and makes gameplay monotone and boring spamfest. They have to add build variety to the game by nerfing widely used metas. If not, there’s no need for other traits or utilities. Just give people the meta build on character creation without ability to customize.
Maybe not deathmatch but we definitely need a mode without treb/cannon/npcs.

It really became annoying as hell. Thanks for tips, It would also be good if they allowed us to select different and more visible mouse cursors. Sometimes I lose the position of mouse cursor in the chaos of zergs.

Perma evade thieves need to be nerfed asap, they don’t even take damage while doing tons of damage. I can’t even understand why anet allows these ultra-broken op builds to stay in game?

They are still ridiculously op. if this is their nerfed version, i can’t imagine how op they were before… They don’t even take damage.
Same thing happens on my charr engineer… I always create another alt for spvp as asura.
I already have tons of them, there’s no good use of them to spend. I only buy some sieges and sell on tp. 6 badge = 3 silver, doesn’t even worth it.
Pve = Play berserker or quit party.
Tpvp = Bunkers ftw.
Wvw = play what you want, it’s already a chaos of zergs.
Because hammer/cc spam build can faceroll any class easily without requiring real skill.
People always follow metas like sheeps. If there’s an op build they all suddenly start to play this specific class and build. Currently I see mostly warriors and mesmers everywhere. After nerfs, they will find another class/build 
1. It gives rubbish rewards
2. Too. Many. Particle. Effects. I can’t really fight well enough to PvP when I’m having a seizure all the time and I can’t interrupt/dodge anything when I can’t see.
3. Asuras. I can’t tell what they’re doing unless I place a microscope on my monitor.
Lol, I completely agree on #3, this is why I have seperate asura characters(smallest possible) for spvp.

I think perma evade thieves need to be nerfed faster. They are perma invulnerable, plus have good damage without any trade offs. Can’t they see how op some class builds are? They are obsessed with nerfing condi necro only.
I play spvp, but classes are always out of balance, they constantly nerf some classes while some classes stay untouched and op.
And there’s a broken downed and rally system, these can make you go nuts…
After a tough 1v1, your downed enemy rallies and kills you, because one of your team member died at the other corner of map. So logical…

I’m in the same situation. I’ll send my real-life friend required materials(8-9x 250 stacks t6 + some more stones etc.) and precursor for legendary weapon. He is currently playing at another server due to his guild. Can I send these materials safely to him via in game mail, or is it assumed as illegal activity? (won’t send gold, only 100 gold for required icy runestones)
Which way should I prefer to send these mats to my friend on another server? Can an arenanet employee give information to us about these situations?
They have to add combined legendaries to other weapon types too. For example combine bifrost with another legendary staff to craft much better looking skin like eternity.

I use 30 30 0 0 10. I use rifle 2 immobilize then use grenades, i find extra grenade more effective than static discharge. 30 to second line is important because we get extra 2% damage per cond on target. I can’t find so useful traits at the last line although having extra crit damage is good.
Fear interrupts enemy skills in practical use, but the game doesn’t count it as “interrupting”, so you can’t use it. For example, you can’t do “daily interrupter” achievement with fear.
I hate it only because, It caused a huge nerf to necro’s other abilities. (like everyone has to play with dhuumfire.)
Also it’s not useful in spvp, despite all those nerfs it’s still only 2 second. They nerfed other traits(e.g. greater marks, weakenin shroud, terror) and ds for it, but it’s still 2s, it’s just a joke. I have the same trait(incendinary powder) on my engineer at “master” power tree, plus it has 7-8s of burning in spvp. Dhuumfire doesn’t deserve to be a grandmaster trait with such a low duration.
Necro is my main character, but I’m afraid to craft it some ascended armor and some more legendary weapons. Because we are getting nerfed with every patch, no build or weapon is guaranteed. Necro is an unreliable class because of constant nerfs. They gave us one useless dhuumfire then took many other good things we had for trade.
Torment had to stay as a necromancer hallmark. “Tormenting” has nothing to do with a mesmer, warrior or thief. Plus we have only one skill with higher cooldown to use torment. They have to change burning and some bleeding to torment before.
Even 30 30 10 condi burst necro has very good dps plus epidemic,(better than most classes, comparable with zerkers) but ppl u find in game don’t know so much about necro.
What anet has to do is, I think, giving necro a power based massive dps weapon for pve usage.(doing same 30k+ hit dps like a warrior greatsword) Only this can change meta/elitist player’s minds, they have to change minds of players first. This is the main problem. Beacause as I previously said, ppl only look for better dps in their parties, so few people cares about party support, heals, passive debuffs etc. This is why there’s “warrior only or go” parties in lfg. Give necros what meta players want(dps), make them wanted in parties and ta da, necro is balanced in pve. Condition system can’t be fixed easily in current situation, so we need new power weapons asap. (Also one ranged aoe weapon for wvw)
If you are talking about wvw zerg/raid build I think dire condi+well is still the best build despite increasing number of cleanses.
I get the most loot with this combination plus I have very good survivability.
But if you are looking for roaming/gang/dueling build try spvp builds.
I’ll never understand why warriors have perfect mobility and 3x immunity along with perfect dps and armor. What’s their trade-off for all of these top stats ? We trade our mobility, stability and dps for example. Why we have to run like coward from their berserker stance(if we can with that mobility) and kite-fight them without directly fighting offensive like them ? Isn’t it necro’s role to be immobile, “stay and fight” class ? Then why can’t we do this role good ? Class imbalances really ruin this game.

Necromancer isn’t bad in PvE at all… it is the PvE that is bad…
Let me explain…
For example… warriors do more damage in melee range then necromancers do at range, because no one would ever play a warrior in melee, if there was another class that could do the same damage or more at range… especially since melee range doesn’t have the same DPS uptime as range does. Not having the same DPS uptime as range makes the meleers overall effectiveness as high as the range… as in they do more damage less often vs less damage more often.Now… in this current “we do only CoF p1 fast run just warriors 10k achievement points or kick” stupid PvE system… melee classes are not punished enough for staying melee, so you can actually have 100% DPS uptime even in melee… and therefor warrior > necromancer.
They can’t increase necromancer damage to match warrior damage, because then no one would play warrior. They would do that if there were more necromancers then warriors, from a marketing point of view, but they aren’t…
So… now you have it. The only thing they can do is fix PvE, not chance the necromancer or any other sub par class, cause that would just place us further away from a good game.
In conclusion: Necromancers are fine… it’s the PvE that is broken.
I usually agree with you, but for this, I do not.
It’s not the PVE mechanics that are bad, it’s the imbalance of warriors and guardians innate defense vs other classes.
They wear heavy armor, and they have some of the best group support. Guardians have the BEST group support, and can be very defensive without sacraficing a ton of damage. Warriors on the other hand, add alot of group support, shouts, banners etc; while wearing heavy armor getting that innate defense AND their damage scales off the charts compared to other classes.
Currently, there is no middle ground for plate wearers. No risk vs reward. If you want to do dmg, you should be squishy. If you want to be survivable you should do low dmg. That was their intended goal, but they don’t seem to have the right balance with warrior or guardian.
Here is how it should break down as far as damage goes
High dmg <————————————>Low dmg

High risk(squishy) <———————————-> Low risk(tanky)The more squishy you become the more dmg you deal. Currently warriors don’t make a big enough sacrafice for the damage they do. Mostly because hundred blades and Axe auto attack scales too well with their traits and attack power.
I agree with you. Currently most squishy classes are elementalist and thief, yet a warrior can do a lot more dps with a gs without sacrificing anything. A berserker, full glass cannon warrior ~= tanky ele/thief in terms of survivability. You can do 30k damages with a low cooldown skill, plus you still have ~20k hp and ~2400-2600 armor. Then if a class is squishy, then they must have the ability to do such damage from long range, or much more damage from melee. If this isn’t possible, then they have to nerf classes doing good dps without any sacrifice.
Dps is the most important thing in gw2 pve players’ minds, they don’t care about team support, healing etc. Most players you find in the game only wants players with good dps in their parties. Then I won’t care about supporting ability buffs, give every class warrior dps in pve, or class system will stay broken. As long as they don’t do a dps like warrior, other classes will stay as unwanted classes. Anet has to balance squishiness / damage output ratio of classes. Both specs can’t be at top level.
Eheh most ppl are using same combinations as i see, I’m using magitech+jetpack too.

Just hopped into HoTM, was doing roughly 10k backstabs with scholar runes/no sigils.
58% CD, must have had executioner on when i hit 12k.edit: with 20 might stacks on.
I’ve tried 25 30 0 0 10 build with venom+signet might, scholar runes, force+fire sigil plus 15% crit dmg from signet.
In hotm I can’t get past 8200-9000 dmg. What else do you use to pass 10k+ border ?

so I have been testing a bit, 4 signets might etc. under normal circumstances I do not see that kind of damage happening.
However if I use Critical Haste for some reason sometimes in wvw this proc also increasesthe damage not just the speed of attacks, I had hits almost 2x as hard as usual when this happens.
This might be a bug, would be awesome if you guys could post some feedback if you had that happen aswell.
I’ll give it a try with my thief. If it was against a glass cannon build, I could easily say that these damages are normal. But even with 20-25 stack might it doesn’t seem very possible to me for a target with high/very high amount of armor. But ofc. I’m not sure if it’s legitimately possible, this is why I created this thread. If it’s possible, this build can one shot all low health classes (including guardians without vitality stat). I’ll also try a signet might build for backstab action in wvw. If you have a good one please share with me

If you get interrupted while healing, you are transformed to a necro-dolyak that both allies and enemies can kill and get loot & 2min hp regen.
You lose 75% of hp upon entering deathshroud.
Necromancers now have permanent cripple to ensure their mobility stays low.
Increased warrior damage vs. necros 20%.
Staff skill #4 now transfers all conditions on allies to you.
Staff auto attack now steals life force from your own hp, and has slower projectile.
Stack limit for necros is reduced to 10.
You get stunned for 3s when you get stability somehow.
Skill: Signet of masochism—-
Signet Active : Applies all conditions on your character. (cd 470s)
Signet Passive : You have non-curable permanent torment condition on your character.
you can get 25 might stacks from signet build IIRC.

I’m sure classes with lower hp will always get one shotted with a damage like this.
I got hit by ~14k damage by a backstab in a 1v1 roaming situation(wvw) without any invulnerability. I’m sure this opponent can’t have 25 stack might in a solo situation because there were no other ppl around. I have 2830 armor + 20780 hp. Just how is this possible ?
I also have a fully geared critical damage based(p.t.crit) backstab thief and barely see 7-8k+ dmg to glass cannons(with 100%+ crit damage and 3400+ power), and in this situation I’m not a glass cannon. Are they doing this with a bug/glitch or completely legit?
(maybe like ele’s tornado+meteor bug?)
It uses instance system for pve, even at its golden times i felt so lonely in pve.

I wasn’t kidding when I said, by lore, one GW1 character can take on five or more GW2 characters at the same time. GW2 characters who learn skills from schools can never match the power of GW1 characters who learn skills from monsters and other ancient sources. GW2 characters are part of an army, while GW1 characters are elite heroes.
It’s true. The GW1 necromancer made you feel like a hero. A single power house.
The GW2 necromancer kind of makes me feel like someone who inspects the floor a lot.
I think main problems are, condition system is broken in many ways and necro depends on conditions a lot.
Minions have so little hp even after hp buff in order to be effective against dungeon mobs or high level pve open world areas.
If you want to try power builds, you have to use melee power weapons but necro’s role is definitely staying ranged. As we can see, no invulnerability or so little stability access requires us to stay ranged to a cc/melee train in wvw. This is a huge contradiction.
These problems need to be fixed asap.
Please nerf all kinds of spam builds, especially warrior cc spam build. Easy facerolling with spam builds(of every class) mustn’t exist in a good pvp game. You can add internal cooldowns for those spammed effects to prevent spamming.

I’m waiting them specially for necromancer, necro needs more power weighted weapons with aoe attacks. Current melee+single target ones doesn’t help. Plus I’m looking forward to see new legendary weapon skins.
I think this game needs not high but a low amount of vertical progression.
Why? Because players always need a new goal to achieve in mmos. If you remove this goal line or make it come closer(easier) to achieve, players will have nothing to play after reaching such a goal. Why should i play more if i own everything to achieve easily? Please don’t only listen to very casual players, we hardcore players need vertical progression to keep playing this game. Hardcore players are players that support this game, casuals play it for 1 month and quit. Hardcore players are who keep playing and supporting this game. I think, this is why mmos like wow are still doing great in the market. Please support hardcore players with new goals to achieve. Make the game harder, obtaining items harder and make items rarer. Casuals are just content tourists which won’t support your game. Don’t just look at forums, casuals mostly write and cry on forums while hardcore “real” players are playing the game. I can say that many ppl in game find this game very easy to play, and not rewarding in a vertical manner, some of them migrated to other mmos just because of this reason.
Necro will be close friends ranger, they are both bottom tier characters from now on.
I can’t understand why arenanet has such hate towards necros. Necros needed buffs not nerfs, they were already so underpowered with high dependance to conditions. If dhuumfire is the reason of all these nerfs why not remove dhuumfire instead of other great abilities? Also conditions mean nothing in wvw, they can’t even deal damage with instant cleanses. My main character is a necro, but sorry i refuse to play necro from now on. They have to buff necro for pve with same dps amount of a warrior, and useful power based aoes for wvw. I say again, stop making us depend on conditions they mean nothing at pve and wvw. Also new healing skill is a joke, if it really needs an icd, why doesn’t warrior healing doesn’t have such 1s icd? They fully restore their health in a wvw zerg easily. I think they are trying to say us : Play warrior or don’t play our game at all. All hail warrior master race.
My main character is necro but i’ve moved to my engineer alt for a while. I’m a wvw raid player and sadly conditions started to suck against large groups. Necro doesn’t have real power based aoe weapons, and ds 4 gets always interrupted. My friend tried celestial necro for hybrid damage but vampiric skills scale so bad with healing power and you don’t really get the use of power based aoe damage because of lack of power based aoe weapons. So nearly half of your stats get wasted. Aoe weapons are condition heavy and condition sucks. Rolling a full power necro for crowded fights is not logical because of lack of aoe weapons. Staff scepter and oh dagger has the worst raw base damages you will find among classes. Current power weapons are melee and single targeted.(yes doesn’t even cleave enemies in front of you like a warrior despite being melee) Plus you don’t have enough stability to use these melee power weapons against a wvw hammer train. Also you can’t “really” support your party members in pve and dungeons. Ppl won’t want you in their pve parties and discriminate you.(even my guildie did that) As long as necro gets the same level of raw power based dps as warrior don’t roll one for a while. Current meta is “have a good power based dps or go.” I have a fully geared warrior too but I find its gameplay boring and monotone, If you are looking for a enjoyable and useful all around class try engineer. Ele is also good but a lot squishier. I’m using celestial, power weighted build on my engi and I have everything for every situation now. I’m no more dependent on conditions. I have tons of raw power based aoes. Only thing I love about necro is its survivability compared to other classes, if you are a condition build backliner you will be the last one to die anywhere. And condi necro is only good in spvp(even that got nerfed), and maybe for gang roaming in wvw. For different modes use better classes for a while. I hope arenanet adds new weapons and build options for necros to make them better and preferred classes in wvw raids and pve parties. They have to change people’s minds about necro with great dps buffs especially for pve.
