New map(S) and new mode(S) ? I only see one new map and one mode attached to it.
I agree with op, ladders are nothing for me as I don’t have a permanent team for tpvp.
Ladder = Team success, not something to be achieved personally.
I would need something that only depends on my personal efforts to be achieved.
Also there’s no rewards, or “displaying” options for ladders. Most of players are even unaware of ladders.
Leaderboards are only accessed via a website, doesn’t connected to the game itself.
You don’t get something “visually shiny” from ladders to brag about.
I’m personally at R66, and I still have long way to 80(and beyond for legendary champion title), but I can understand op. More hardcore goals are needed.
No, instead it’s giving “life” to the game and maps.
The better question:
Why should 9 other people be punished for your crappy laptop?
Yeah this is true. If you have connection or hardware issues you shouldn’t enter tourneys and ruin it for others too.
You leave your team as 4v5 and make them lose, why mustn’t you be punished?
The system works allright. The problem is your laptop, you have to buy a desktop with at least mid-range setup. Laptops aren’t for gaming as they have less thermal solution and half/quarter the shader units of a desktop gpu.(mobile versions)
I know that it’s hard to implement a preset system(saved builds) to PvE,
but with the latest patch I think it became possible for sPvP.
Why?
Because sPvP doesn’t require item stats(like pve) as it gets stats from the amulet.
Traits, amulets, runes and sigils are accessible from just one simple menu.
Only one rune type/stat type can be used without mix & match.
So I think that it’s possible to have an option to save this menu’s presets for quick build access.
Also we were able to send our builds in Guild Wars(1). With that preset system, it can be a nice feature too.
For example (saved build presets with custom names):
Saved builds
______________
-My dps build-
-Arena bunker-
-Condi-
-My decapper v1-

Aren’t these grawl paintings ?
It’s good from some aspect, and bad from some aspect.
For example if you play for ap leaderboards and doing all achievements, you have less daily work now, it makes this easier.Surely the better fix is not less dailies, but only count the first 5 for ap??
Yes that would be a good system. For example only 10 of 20(or 5 of 20) daily choice counts for ap.
So people can choose whatever dailies they want, and do 10 of them. Both ap leaderboard players and others would be happy.
I think, people who post opposition against the patch in the forum are minority.
People who like the patch don’t open new threads here, so it looks as if there are more complaining ppl than appreciating ppl.
Players in game generally liked the patch as I see in guild chat, map chat of various zones etc.
It’s good from some aspect, and bad from some aspect.
For example if you play for ap leaderboards and doing all achievements, you have less daily work now, it makes this easier.
But If you are a new player and need some ap, it’s bad as it doesn’t provide enough variety of daily achievements.
I was doing all dailies as chores too(even though I don’t grind for leaderboards) and was feeling obligated to do all, now my chores are easier with just 10 dailies. But actually when you think, there’s no point to grind ap as it only gives boots that you won’t ever use for grinding 21k ap.

Megaserver in orr(and all maps) is the best thing they have ever done.
Opposition, even against nice features like this, makes the playerbase look bad.
The game was an online rpg before, it’s now turning to a real "mmo"rpg with this patch.
We don’t want orr to stay as a ghost town without any people, I don’t care about events, my server was failing them anyway because of the lack of numbers. If they fail it with a crowded instance, nothing will change. But the game will be a real mmo with players around. I support megaserver in all maps, I wanna see people around…See, that is your point of view. My Server and some of the other highest population servers do not have such issues. Also, as you might have read, some people want to be in a zone with less people. So who’s desire is the correct one??? And wanting choice is never a bad thing.
Again, this isn’t about if, it’s about when! Now certainly wasn’t the most opportune time for many whom know about doing temples. Which goes beyond the scope of my original rant. I’m certain Vol’s going to be fuming is CS goes on the Mega Server tomorrow
The term “roll out” is usually not used to define a day or two.
I understand your point of view but then there should be 1-2 servers without megaserver system for RPers and low-population lovers. I think majority of playerbase and new players(who play for level and gold) will like megaserver system. Personally, I don’t need to go these maps after this point but while I was leveling up and grinding pve, I felt so lonely at these zones. I felt like I’m playing gw1, a pve without open world. Although my server is very high in population and eu#1 in wvw(sfr), pve players were low on count. I was guesting to desolation(pve oriented server) when I wanted to do some world events for achievements etc. Now it’ll be possible for all servers to do these events.
But event api needs rework for playerbase organization.

When I read the title first, I thought you were wanting some kind of slavery system for the game ^^
Tp flipping = Money changing hands. Not creating new money.
“Person A” buys a cheap item from “person B”, Sells for high price to “person C”.
So “person B” gets less money for his item while “person C” pays more and wastes some amount of his money. “Person A” collects their “wasted” money and becomes rich personally. That gold was already in game, not created. Person B and C indirectly sent their gold to “person A”. Plus Person A and B destroys some of the game’s gold by paying 15% tax.
But, farmers are the ones that create new money from “nothing” and cause inflation.
So trading is a nice and harmless way to make money without inflating the game.
Yeah I really think Living Story turned out to be a colossal waste of their time and could have been spent giving everyone a couple permanent zones, dungeons, jumping puzzles, armor skins, legendary weapons and maybe even a few new skills.
Instead, they spent months and months working on and rolling out story releases that lasted less than a month each and are no longer accessible to anyone.
I completely agree with you…
The game needs more and more feature packs after april 15, so they mustn’t stop working on new game features. I think arenanet needs 2 seperate teams after the end of living story: one for constantly developing new features, one for developing permanent+new game content.(and maybe expansions?) I think, new features and permanent content is the only way to use this game’s potential. Gw2 has much more potential than current mmos, just needs some work.
I also think, temporary content just wasted developers’ effort and workforce for one year. The game would be like “gw3” if all that effort was spent for new features and perma-content.
Nice illustrations right there mate. +1 for this.
I would maybe change it a bit so that the Rank icon would show only when you have someone targeted. This way these icons don’t jump around your screen and the icons could be a tiny bit bigger icons when you could see them somewhere near the face block. Also this way you could possibly implement them on the party window as well.
Like so in the attachment. It’s crude edition, but should illustrate my thoughs
That looks nice. It must also be attached next to player’s nick-name and always visible when he isn’t selected. (Like world completion star)
And these are monthly, temporary ranks. They are determined by monthly leaderboard.(Per server)
For example if you are 49th person of your server in monthly leaderboard, you get “Mist Knight” rank icon during that month. Your monthly rank icon goes up as you play more and move upwards on leaderboard in that month. Leaderboards were accessible from in-game menu.
(edited by Umut.5471)
I have some other suggestions for gw2 from an old mmorpg called knight online.
(I was playing this game 10 years ago)
It had two rank icons next to each other, permanent and monthly(temporary).
Permanent one was your all-time, general rank. It was shown in a square border.
Monthly one was determined by your monthly rank point gain.
Two top-ranked players of the server had “dragon” rank icon. It was a special rank for the top players of the server. (according to leaderboards)
If you don’t play and don’t get any rank points in a month, you don’t get any monthly rank icon. But your permanent rank icon always stays.
You can see the example pic from that game below…
This guy has permanent rank icon only(in square border), because he hasn’t qualified(didn’t play enough) for a monthly rank in that month.
I suggested this when the rank system was introduced. It’s a nice idea and aesthetic reason to play for wxp ranks. After unlocking required buffs/perks there’s no use to play for more ranks. It would be great to display our ranks to other people.

:((( sorry >.< i didn´t mean to “copy” your suggetion >.< i really didn´t searched the forum for anything similar
Nope I didn’t wanna mean that you copied it. It’s a generic idea/feature from older mmos anyway.
I mean, I suggested it many times in various topics but they didn’t even see it.
I really want to see that implemented too, so I support your suggestion topic.
Legendary is a luxury, but not a prestige item as it can be directly bought from tp with real money in a minute.
It’s because of wvw tournament. Guilds are mass-transferring to other servers.

Yeah, It’s related to melandru event.
“Melandru is the goddess of nature, earth, and growth.”
So, there will be no use to grind for dailies after 10k daily ap, am I right ?
I have currently about 6k ap from dailies. My understanding is it only applies to APs, but I could be wrong.
If you still want laurels and the karma awarded from dailies/monthlies, you still have a reason to do them.
I know, but I was doing all dailies for ap, that’s what I mean by grinding. Otherwise, getting a laurel by doing spvp achievements is easy and quick.

Smallest asura ftw !
I’m looking forward for implementation of megaserver system to all maps. Orr will be a “living” zone again. It’s now deserted without any people doing events. Straits of devastation and malchor’s leap has always been deserted though… (Waypoints are always contested, noone does events(except temple) etc.) Megaserver system is only way to prevent players to feel “lonely”. I was feeling like I’m the only living being on the map. (Like a post apocalyptic movie : I’m legend
)
It was an april 1 joke, there’s no confirmed tengu expansion for the future.
Please give players tags too, depending on their rankings
Lets look at what they’ve done for hardcore players:
- Guild missions
- 24 dungeon paths (not counting story, since that is casual)
- Three world bosses + one dedicated world boss upate
- Two updates dedicated to fractals
- Many fractals offering content not available in open-world (e.g agony mechanics)
- Ascended gear tier
- New agony resist infusions
- WvW map updates + a new WvW map to solve queues
- WvW seasonal rewards
- Rewards for grinding achievment pointsLets take a look at what they’ve done for casual players:
- ??
- Living Story? It could be argued that many of these can be unlocked or participated in by casual players, however casual players are not the focus, as some of them have insane time and/or money requirements to reach.
More than half of your hardcore list is actually for casuals. However I agree that there’s hardcore content too, but without “good” rewards.
- Guild missions (are very easy, only guild challenge requires numbers in your guild otherwise it’s easy too. even a new-starter can do rush/bounty/puzzle)
- 24 dungeon paths (explorable paths are very casual too, most of dungeons can be skipped or fast-runned by zerker warriors)
- Two updates dedicated to fractals (fractals are easy and for casuals till 30. but there’s still no good rewards for hardcore players of 30+ levels, drops are bad. fractal skins are obtainable from lower levels)
- Ascended gear tier (it’s casual too, any player can make 400 gold in game easily in current situation, there’s even an inflation in the game because of ease of gold farming)
- WvW seasonal rewards (seasonal rewards are casual like living story. it even has 7 weeks time limit which makes it easier for casuals. but permanent wvw achievements are hardcore.(e.g. “realm avenger” but still there’s no real reward for these hardcore achievements.)
- Rewards for grinding achievement points (weapon skins are obtainable even with 1000ap, only boots are hardcore but it doesn’t worth grinding 21k imo)
There’s currently some hardcore content like wvw, spvp(ranking) and ap, but rewards are inadequate for these hardcore effort as I say in my previous message. This is why people say “the game is not rewarding” everywhere. There must be special, and non-rng rewards for completing hardcore content which can’t also be obtained with lower effort. For a little example, special skins after 20k+ ap, and completing eternal dominator title(example reward : (special)dominator armor skin), and similar rewards for other hardcore achievements would be fine. If there’s no vertical progression, then this kind of non-unbalancing prestigious skins would be fine, as legendaries are no longer “prestigious”.
(edited by Umut.5471)
The game doesn’t have a real “point/goal” for hardcore players to keep them playing.
“Playing just for fun” is a casual gamer term, hardcore time-spending players will have lesser and lesser fun after a while because of the lack of points/goals to achieve by playing.
It’s ok that there won’t be any item grind or vertical progression for hardcore players, but they have to reward hardcore players for their efforts somehow. I want to feel “really” rewarded for playing more than casuals and completing all the content. For just a single&little example(there’s tons of examples), we are grinding wxp ranks, but after a point(unlocking all required buffs) it becomes useless. Wouldn’t it be better if we were able to use them collectively as guild players to upgrade our guild features, and do some “cosmetic” show off to other players with our special rewards etc.? For that example even if a player has 1000+ world rank, nobody knows. Then what’s the real point here if we can’t compete with other players? An mmorpg must bring competition and satisfy player egos somehow, maybe not vertically but horizontally… In brief, a player can’t play to have more “prestige” in this game, so a hardcore player loses his goal after a while.
Another single example is ap rewards, even after 15-20k achievement points there’s no noticable and proprietary skins. If I’m completing all achievents and spending tons of time for them, I expect better rewards for them. Not just zenith weapons, because they can be obtained even with 1000ap by new players. They could have added special and “really nice looking”(like current high grade exotics/a little worse than legendaries by looks) weapon and armor skins for 20k+ ap only. I don’t mind spending all the effort for a pair of boots that I won’t ever use.(it doesn’t fit any light armor set anyway) So there’s “no point” to play for ap too.(if you don’t really want these boots) They can bring these high grade/hardcore points and goals to the every aspect of the game. Pve, spvp, wvw, aps, events etc… Better endgame goals are needed. Scaled from ground to the stars, all kinds of players have to find a goal and reward in front of them. I just gave two simple examples from the two aspects of the game. This is both a critic and a suggestion.
There won’t be a change about their price. Because you can’t collect more nodes by guesting. Even if their spawn locations are different in each server, you will see that you have already collected these differently located nodes after guesting . It’s about map+node count of the map+character, not about servers. If there’s 5 ori node in cursed shore and you’ve collected 5 of 5, then you will see that all ori nodes are already collected in guested servers too. You can collect them again in the same map by switching to an alt character btw. And it’s not account bound, character bound. (Well, if they didn’t change it in the latest patches, I’m not collecting ores anymore)
(edited by Umut.5471)
The most important things are my world completion, and unlocked character bag slots. Otherwise it’s already easy to create another character and make it instantly l80 via tomes. “Race change contract” item is needed in gemstore, they can even make money with that feature.
It would be good as a new feature, many mmos and all of gw2’s current rivals(wildstar, eso, archeage, everquest next, black desert, etc etc…) have this feature. Despite several negative comments here, there’s more gw2 players that want to see it implemented… It can also be a good gold sink and a new, “game-selling” feature.
Engineer grenades are nice at underwater.
I think, all features of april 15 patch are great.(especially megaserver) It’s even better than all living stories combined imo. With megaserver and more and more features, we will feel that tyria is “living”. Currently many maps are no mans land.
The game needs more and more feature packs after april 15, so they mustn’t stop working on new game features. I think arenanet needs 2 seperate teams after the end of living story: one for constantly developing new features, one for developing permanent+new game content. I hope there won’t be any more sab, it just doesn’t fit gw2’s universe and gameplay…
Let’s hope SAB is swept under the rug. That or a final update ending this generic pile of waste would be great.
just a small reminder, you are free to play anywhere in tyria, nobody says you have to go to Moto’s epic creation.
SAB is something for the ppl that enjoy jumping puzzles. Just like the new Wurm and Teq are something for ppl that like hard boss fights, like the tournament is something for WvW, like the new team deathmatch map is something for Pvp.I know JP isnt a ‘full on’ game type, but its a part of this game and his been since launch, and they are loved by many gamers.
Love and Kisses,
Tsonn
If you are an achievement hunter, you feel obligated to play sab to get those achievements and they were much harder/more time consuming than any other living story/achievement segment ever done. I’m not against an optional sab dungeon without achievements.(it’s possible to earn sab tokens after running paths for skin rewards)
But I just don’t wanna play a 8bit game anymore when there’s possibly more, new opportunities/achievement sets to create in gw2’s own mmorpg structure. It was a good april 1 joke and it ended, and a sequel came it was ok too. But, I think it’s simply enough to have 2x sab content. They have to spend their effort to expand the main game with new features/content after this point imo.
I hope there won’t be any more sab, it just doesn’t fit gw2’s universe and gameplay…
it’s nearly not possible. if it was 100, it could be ok.
It is possible. Read the dulfy’s guide of slayer achievements. People are in a giant farming guild. They upscale one specific event so that 5 would spawn then kill 4 and fail it. The event respawns around every 5 minutes. If you do it until you reach 50 a day it will take you 20 days. You could do 25 a day or so for 40 days. Or 12 a day for 80 days. Time consuming and grindy, but doable.
That being said I think that it should either reward far more points or there should be more giants in the world.
I’ve said nearly, not completely.
When they add veteran or lower leveled giants to some more maps, it can be done with some effort. But it’s so grindy at its current state. It can stay as a hard achievement, but then it deserves more ap reward like 50-100 ap.
(edited by Umut.5471)
Please, bring back airship pass re-sale too
I think that the diving spot at the top of aetherblade jp is so hard to complete without a helper or portal, i just can’t complete it after the addition of aetherblade jp to the dive master achievement. Can’t you please add another optional diving spot for those want this achievement but can’t complete it because of no portal friends ?
it’s nearly not possible. if it was 100, it could be ok.
Gw2 just needs more and more permanent endgame content(including new pve/pvp options) and more feature packs and it will dominate every current game in the industry. After this point, instead of living story content they have to proceed with feature packs and permanent game-expander content.
Really, you just have to try eso/wildstar after playing gw2 for a long time, their combat system/quests seem so stale to you after gw2. Wildstar also has a cartoonish/childish graphics style which i hate to see in any kind of game.
I need this functionality the most(because i’m a frequent daily completer), I thought it has the same npc functionality with the airship before purchase, and bought it for 1000 gems, because i missed the airship one.
And it didn’t even help me reach the activity npc easily. I feel really bad for that purchase. Please arenanet, make royal terrace and airship have the same npc availability.
Or, I want to return the item please, and wait for the airship re-sale.
if you don’t care about stat change abilities of legendaries and just made it for the skin, yes i think it will be a waste. (i craft them for their skins too, as i don’t even change stats because of the single build i use)
i don’t have duplicate legendaries but i feel your pain…
Porous bones can now be combined…
Not only wvw, spvp needs a solution for rallybots too. I down an enemy in 1v1, then while stomping he gets up and runs/fights like nothing has happened just because some random teammate dies at the other end of map. It’s the most annoying thing about pvp system of this game.
Imo, the tournament prize will be the only well-earned legendary.
A lot of the casuals will then complain that the best items are available to the select few.
Which I think is fair, but then again, casuals are a very, very vocal bunch.
But, speaking as a hardcore player, I think we need better rewards for putting much more effort to the game. It can’t make you more powerful, but special, very rare skins for 15k+ 20k+ ap would be a nice prize for those who put effort to the game. As legendaries are buyable directly from tp, they aren’t special to those who play hardcore and put time and effort.
As long as gold sellers doesn’t get kicked from the game, getting a legendary will always be easy. I think crafting a legendary must require more in game effort. Ability to buy one from tp(in 1 min) just ruins it. I am okay with gem to gold conversion btw, it’s hard to buy this way. I’m just against illegal gold sellers.
