if you don’t like playing Mesmer, maybe try playing Guardian instead. It’s a lot easier to play in my opinion, but also very enjoyable and rewarding.
A choice between that 2 traits will make the eles unable to stay all the time fullbuffed, making them more like all the other classes: a mere mortal.

You also seem to fail to understand that the majority complaint against Celestial Dagger/Dagger Elementalist is its damage output, specifically via burning, seeing as you’re bringing up a nerf pertaining to sustain which is absolutely meager without appropriate Healing Power in the first place.

Why is it that advocates always feel the need to word it like it’s even a choice? The nerf in question would simply make it so nobody ever uses Evasive Arcana because Elemental Attunement is 100% necessary for every Elementalist in order to survive in PvP.

im not talking about point score im talking about the way the expansion is going to take into consideration your efforts in the match from either the dmg, decaps, healing, condi remvol, ex. that you do in the game

taunt is basically a reverse fear, i see no problem with it

Because being a living blender with a ton of AoE skills that can throw off the rotations of several enemies at once isn’t useful? Seriously, a Reaper can turn a losing fight into a winning one if they do things just right. AoE boon conversion (2 boons into 10 vuln on each opponent hit. Be a shame if they lost those might stacks,) potent AoE attacks on GS and in RS (and, hell, unblockable staff has always been decent about giving a quick, initiating bit of burst) AND an elite that freezes people, chills them for 8 seconds or more and damages relatively heavily? Yeah, we don’t help at all

Can confirm. OP’s post history is full of “nerf this” posts and confirms he plays a DD ele. This thread should not be taken seriously.
As someone who mains Celestial Dagger/Dagger Elementalist in PvP, I’m perfectly fine with it receiving an appropriate nerf (ideally Ring of Fire and Flamewall trading their burning applications with each other), but I also think we need a bit more data and play-testing before making any judgment-calls on nerfing Reaper in any way, shape, or form.
you guys are kind of off topic. The point is how do u counter play a the skill when the entire team revolves around it. The mode conquest is about holding points Unyielding anguish=100% chance to cap even during full out team fight.

I was merely using the same logic he used against unyielding:

Except your attempt to apply the same logic was altogether invalid due to the fact that teleporting oneself is not a hard CC against an opponent whereas an opponent teleporting you is a hard CC against you. What’s more, within the confines of conquest, being able to keep someone or an entire group of people off of a point is overpowered.

It’s so freaking kitten disgusting that Revenant’s enemy-teleports go through stability. I’m absolutely fine with how strong the class is otherwise, but this is downright unacceptable.
Rune of Vampirism simply needs to be removed or changed. It’s such a free-get-out-of-jail-card it’s ridiculous.
There’s one problem with that.
Currently, Rune of Vampirism is the only thing stopping damage builds from being insta-gibbed by other damage builds. Removing it may turn PvP into lol insta-gib.

They still have access to every bit of condition removal than base Necro does, but also can use Runes of the Soldier/Trooper.

It’s pretty disgusting how around 6:40 one of those Burn Guardians rallied off of his teammate being defeated thanks to the condition transfer bug.
Ideally, so there’s still some scaling, there’d be like a 3 per second cap, which allows it to stay roughly the same solo, still get some boosts in teams, but not exceed 30% LF even in ideal situations (, granted even then it’d probably be closer to 22-25 given time fluctuations). Any more than that you’re just burying it.
A 3-per-second cap sounds quite good to me. It basically means it can not get more than 3% LF or ~450ish HP per second n an ideal situation, while not destroying the trait and turning it into an even worse version of Unholy Sanctuary. I’d be down with that.
You guys may be onto something here, but let’s reverse the numbers for the sake of an easier coding job by using code already in place: the 1-second recharge, and triple its value. This would make Reaper stronger in the 1v1 but weaker in a team-fight than it is now, so let’s further upon the utilization and counter-play by making this value (399 health / 3% life force) scale equally with healing power (a coefficient of 0.33) and poison.

I agree that only one last beta weekend is unarguably insufficient for the amount of work left to be done before the release of the Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns expansion.
Or how about they do a proper open beta and not this marketing shenanigans.

I’ve played Cleric Reaper MM , Soldier Shout , haven’t been messing around with much else after I played with other builds last time around, and I’m a lot more busy with homework.
The Soldier build was a ton of fun though, you get just below 3400 armor while in Shroud with Corrupter’s Fervor up, 2800ish power while in Death Shroud before might, you generate a lot of Life Force due to all the boons in teamfights, and you aren’t worried about conditions at all. It is absurdly tanky, especially once you factor in allies giving you boons on top of your own, and can still hold its own in 1v1s.

With one day left for this beta weekend, what are y’all finding to be the most effective application of Reaper in ranked arenas? With how wonderfully diverse the traits are (many thanks to the developers), it seems that multiple builds can be viable.
Personally, after watching Noscoc’s stream and discussing with a fellow poster here (nearlight), I decided to play the Celestial Signet variant with great success.

To be honest I never seem to use my F5 ever. Like I have no idea how to use it effectively in most situations. This seems easy enough to get some use out of it, though, so thanks!
As do I, but this should be kind of a red flag in terms of mesmers lacking any viable builds that are not dependent on the stealth mechanic.
I’ll be playing Mesmer for the tournament, and I won’t be using any stealth.
It should definitely go away after you accept or decline.
Not saying I disagree with the ban on PU for mesmer, but it kinda goes to show how there are not too many viable builds without it.

Players will begin by bowing to each other; any match that does not begin without a bow will be reset

Hey guys, I’m not here to complain about losing to anyone or any class in particular; just to get that out of the way.
I was in a courtyard match the other night with a couple of buddies of mine and some randoms. We got shut the hell out of the game. Our support was NOT as good as their support and they rocked our socks. Now, I realize courtyard is the kind of map that the right comp or the right support can help shut a game out and that’s just the nature of the beast. I’ve been on both sides of the spectrum so no complaints there. We lost. No biggy.
Now after said match, I was treated to what had to of been the most in-game harassment I have ever endured. This guy from the other team whispered me repeatedly calling me names, egging me on and just generally being a real kitten. I kept my cool and eventually he became so worked up it border-lined on comical. He even mailed me packets of salt later on to which I literally cried laughing out loud.
However, this doesn’t mitigate the fact that his actions after the match were completely uncalled for despite being comedic in the end. I just wanted to create some more awareness on this issue and maybe help the community drown these trolls when possible. Ignore is our friend.
