It’s fine. MM necro is utterly unviable still.
Not so sure about that, but I am of the opinion the traditional one people run using transfusion isn’t the way to go.
what does you meaning ??
Good night, Sweet Prince.
As someone who plays Elementalist, my fix would be to swap the functionality of the offhand Dagger and Focus skills making Ring of Fire pulse 1 stack of burning for 3 seconds each second and Flamewall inflict 3 stacks of burning for 5 seconds when you cross it.
LoS and kiting are two different things. Against a MM, you can keep fighting the Necro just fine while kiting the minions. Against a turret engie, if you LoS the turrets, you can’t fight the engie either.
Engineer-turret interaction does (except for heal turret) relate only to placement and timing of the actives (including detnation). All turrets are ranged and either homing (rocket), AoE (flame, thumper), or incredibly fast projectile (rifle) meaning that to avoid them, actual active defenses must be used. To avoid minions, you can just keep running around.
So, the Engie doesn’t need to lock anyone down for the turrets to be effective. The Necro does. Likewise, if an engie spread his turrets (most did, including all good ones), you couldn’t destroy them all in one go. Necros don’t have the ability to prevent their minions from getting grouped up for AoE.
Additional counterplay and interaction between master and AI makes MM Necro a healthier build for the game than Turret engies were.
Quoted for truth.
Can you link your build for this? I’ve never played MM, but it sounds fun.
This is the base of all PvP/WvW MM builds. There are other MM builds you can run, but they’re worse. Then you have the Soul Reaping and Spite variants, which are the two main build types.
From there, decide if you want staff or not, if you’re SR pick up Soul Marks if you have staff, if not using staff use Axe/Dagger
If you are Spite choose if you are using SoV/Blood Bond (highly recommended) if so pick up the signet trait, otherwise grab Spiteful Spirit
Pick up the traits you want from Blood Magic, the bottom 2 in Adept and all 3 in Master are viable
Finally grab runes, there are a ton you can use but in my opinion Pack is the best all around, with the large swiftness boost being a big help paired with warhorn and Banshee’s Wail and a good minion damage/anti kite boost, and sigils, again lots you can choose by my favorite are leeching/renewalAt the end, the build should look something like mine.
Thank you very much. I’ll hopefully get around to testing this tonight.
Cleric is THE best option by far, has been for a long time, made even more dominant in the specialization changes. It isn’t about the siphons, that is a tiny fraction of what Clerics does for you, it is for Transfusion, Life Siphon, regeneration, SoV or CC, and the large variety of other heals you can grab in the one build.
Can you link your build for this? I’ve never played MM, but it sounds fun.
Welp, they finally figured it out bois. Get ready to go back to Strength runes.
Wait… so it’s called DareDevil and wields a staff.
Why does this sound so familiar?
This is being followed up on.
Thank you.
This needs to happen.
Why are the Elemenatlists running vamp runes? I guess for the same reason they ran 4 Ele’s. They were trying to make a point during the tournies.
I think it was rather ironic, though: The comps with more people playing Elementalist ultimately lost. Elementalist is very strong right now in multiple aspects, but it seems like diversity is winning out here in the end. It’s very interesting to see and watch for sure.
Where is the diversity? I’m only seeing one rune here…
@OP:
Quit complaining. Necro is actually in a great position right now. You just need to ensure you are playing it the right way. Its always funny how some people try to play every class the same way. Each class has a different role. Follow it.
This is what happens when you only read the thread title before you reply.
Yeah…pretty much don’t need to even consider your opinion anymore.
I’d like to hear your opinions about it.
/thread
I suggest you edit your post do remove the name. ArenaNet has a no name-andshame policy to protect and encourage wrongdoers, and you’re liable to receive an infraction.
Just so I don’t run into accusations of ‘not reading’, I’ll happily quote everything you said while showing you why you’re wrong.
But if I’m to understand correctly, a Mesmer can go invulnerable every 24seconds if properly traited and can chain said invulnerability in to another one and another one after that.
This is probably about as vague a statement as possible, so I’m going to go ahead and call it wrong.
Yes, mesmer can go invulnerable roughly once every 24 seconds. For 1 second. If they’re traited for signets, and if they’re running a bunch of signets. So your average invulnerability uptime is going to be 1 second every 24 seconds. You also can get up to 4s of invuln from distortion, but that’s on a much longer cooldown. Additionally your weird accusation of ‘chain invulnerability into another one and another one’ is just…totally out in right field. Yeah, I suppose you could blow all your signets at once and rack up a whopping total of 3 seconds of invulnerability (5s if you blow heal and elite too)…but why would ever do that? That would be a fantastic way to lose to literally anything.
I know this horse has been beaten to death but I’m not asking for Mesmer to be absolutely gutted and unusable… But I seriously think they’ve got just a tiny bit too much access to being completely immune to everything don’t you?
Really? You think going invulnerable on average for 1s every 24s is over the top? There’s not really any argument I can make against this other than pointing out the absurdity of it.
I mean even a Warrior can only go invulnerable once every 60seconds unless they pop Endure Pain seconds before/after Defy Pain but they’re already almost dead if that’s the case.
Math is hard I guess? Endure pain lasts 4 seconds untraited. However, since your imaginary mesmer is heavily traited for signets, this warrior will be heavily traited for stances, making endure pain endure pain last 5 seconds instead. 60/5 = 12. 24/1 = 24. As you can clearly see, the warrior has literally double the access to damage immunity as a heavily traited mesmer.
On top of all of this, I’m really curious as to how you even identified this as a problem. Literally nobody runs builds like this, because they’re awful. The signet trait competes with shattered concentration, making it a hard sell. On top of that, even people that do run signet builds would never chain signets the way you’re imagining it, because they’d lose (or maybe they do, and they’re just bad, idk). The only realistic way I’m seeing this as being identified as a problem is you idly browsing the gw2 wiki, seeing distortion on a trait, and making up an imaginary situation that doesn’t happen, but sounds like a good thing to cry ‘MESMER IS OP GUYS’ about. Seriously, this is one of the more absurd complaints I’ve seen this week.
Quoted for biblical accuracy.
What does Powerful Synergy really do anyway? The last time that I checked, auras don’t stack in duration… If it qualified blast finishers instead of leap finishers, it might actually be worthwhile.

A good way to kill one is to wait for them to pop mist form and then coordinate a strike against them with your team.
u wot m8
Good thing PvP is balanced around 1v1 dueling, right? Oh wait…
Good thing I know how to rotate, right? Oh wait..
If I’m a trap ranger and I’m up against a d/d ele (because I’m the only mobile person to save backpoint) and then because I have to call for help since we have no d/d eles to mirror that and it’s a bad match-up, then it’s a 1v2 against the d/d ele right? Now my team is 3v4 on mid point. And if I’m 1v1 to keep numbers on track against d/d ele, most of the time I will LOSE because d/d ele takes no skill to play against anything that isn’t a d/d ele.
1v1s MATTER in this game. It is ignorant to say it doesn’t.
Now learn rotations please before you say ANY more. Inb4 the same guys says, “well you should be mirroring that d/d ele comp wise anyways” yawn.
Straw man followed by a tangent argument based on said straw man? Disregarded.
Good thing PvP is balanced around 1v1 dueling, right? Oh wait…
No other tank class can hit that much as a tank, and if people say “final thrust” can do the same damage well then that’s a fail argument.
Final Thrust has a conditional coefficient of 3 on a 15-second recharge whereas Fire Grab has a conditional coefficient of 2.8 on a 45-second recharge. What am I missing here?
Needless to say I am 100% against banning classes, traits or skills. No matter what.
I hope they bring Sigil of Cleansing intp PvP, soon
Me and my team (E Dream) won a game versus the Abjured in the ESLs for the first time since 30 weeks with me on ranger. We are also constantly winning the Academy Gaming tournaments. Ranger is viable if the player is good enough.
I do agree with some of the much needed changes tho!
Do you mind sharing the build you’ve been having success with? You’ve piqued my interest.
If they decide to tone down burning stacks from skills across the board, I’d like them to tone up other condition applications, and most especially bleeding. I’m not a fan of a condition meta, but I also don’t really fear it becoming a thing with a lot of the incorporated cleansing most meta builds currently have.
Also, reading the OP it’s quite clear you’ve not read the entire “Playing to Win” thesis. Thus you make all kinds of false arguments. Just so you know.
I recently have some graphic card problems so have been getting unstable fps.
For some strange reason when my fps is bad, my ping is higher. Which technical dont’ make sense, since the two isn’t related.
I had this problem with an unstable overclock back when Call of Duty: Black Ops was a new and hot title game; the issue was with the VRAM and not the GPU overclock.
Ring of Fire is fine. Elementalist is balanced.
Are you sure you get the win when you get auto-swapped ? I think you don’t in that case and you only get the win if you volunteer AND get swapped by that volunteer or is that incorrect ?
That’s what I thought.
They are bringing back dishonored.
The real question is when.
Thank you for your diligence in rallying the PvP community.
They already have constant stability and vigor that’s enough.
What did I just read?
I’d much rather have a Rampage Warrior in a team fight than a Meditation Guardian.
This seriously needs to be addressed.
I think we can safely assume Necro Cele is the best at killing Cele ele while not losing the point in 5 secs. Even Noscoc feels confident 1v1ing top tier eles. The problem is that once the enemy team +1 the ele, the necro has NO chance of escape, unlike the ele who could easily escape.
Just make Dark Path a ground-target and the problem is solved.
In 7 matches within the past 10 hours, I’ve played on the same team or opposing team of the same player who throws matches whenever he is sure his team is going to lose. He will literally AFK in his spawn or simply disconnect. This is what I get to experience thanks to the lack of dishonor this game has.
Condi cleanse!

The fear-mongering is real.
It’s pretty kitten underhanded that we get 20-minute variants for spending 10 silver each to convert our old boosters.
Chronomancer is balanced.
I think keeping the entire event solo queue would just be easier and would maintain prompt queue times for all; we already get a minute to counter-comp anyway. Maybe just extend that to two minutes to compensate.
After-cast delay is one of the worst things about this game’s mechanics.
Celestial Dagger/Dagger Elementalist is balanced.
Chronomancer is balanced.
…and a furious viking:
Is that a photo-shop? There’s no way that Ragnar Lothbrok plays this game…
