Since no one uses the horrible trait that gives 200 power wile reveled, they will give all classes (exept thief) a skill to apply long reveled reveleds (6sec) to see if they can make that bad excuse of a trait look appealing LoL.

That spec is 6/2/0/0/6 with 2 condi removers on a long cd.
I keep them poisoned and use SB 1, 2 and 4.
Of they are SA instead of DA i kill them with D/D, i time my cnd or simply use black powder or shadow refuge to get 1 backstab in then finish them off with auto attack or HS if they shadowstep away.
I played P/D for some time with success so i cam predict what they are going to do, before they do it making it easy to counter xD
As said before the key os avoiding the cnd and shadow strike wile keepng the presure high, they die real fast.
Mainly the Pistol is good for condition builds as was stated above.
That being said the #3 on P/P does have some good burst while hitting allot of times.
I have found that some thieves like to run in pairs either in Spvp or roaming in WvW.By synching up their unload ability with a very high burst build they can down someone extremely fast before the person has time to react.
This may not work on bunker builds quite as well & it tends to be a glass cannon spec but even if it doesn’t work you can just stealth and run away.
Besides its always funny seeing someone rage & wonder WTF killed them in 2 seconds or less.
2 thieves with D/P or D/D can do it faster, not to mention that 2v1 wile the 2 are both GC can down ppl fast to, even faster that 2 P/P thieves, it has nothing to do with pistols not thieves btw. its mathematics
this could be good for pvp, i have some reserves about it but I believe that it could definitely improve and massify the competitive play. Bring more players. good and bad, more streamers and definitely more viewers and ppl interested in the game.
I’m sure that PvP players would love to play wvwvw to thus making them actually by the full game to play it. just give them a taste of PvP for free.

you will only ever need 1 pistol so you can go D/P, S/P or P/D.

eviscerate dos not require positioning nor stealth, it does way more dmg than any GC thief’s backstab and the warrior can TANK wile doing it.

warriors can eviscerate for 18k wile still being tankie so…
what if we can have 2 separate soloqueues? one with a leaderboard and one without?
with the difference that if a team is not full a new player can come in and fill that spot via “play now” button.
What makes me mad is the fact that they said that they can change things on the fly without having to take down servers and that they would change and tweak professions little by little “baby steps” whenever necessary.
What they are doing is the exact opposite! 6 months without 1 single tweak or change besides “skill facts” then BAM huge balance patch that completely changes meta.

What is this, September 2012? That statement hasn’t been true for a long time now. The only real full zerk classes that struggle against thieves are Ranger, Elementalist and Mesmer. Even so, It doesn’t mean they can’t win against it.

I don’t think you know what this word means. 8k crit from Steal + 10k BS was burst. What S/F Eles do is burst. 10k Eviscerate is burst. S/D thief is NOT bursting you down (air + fire sigil isn’t exclusive to thieves). Stop misusing the word already.

If you are a good player, winning 1×1 as a thief shouldn’t be hard but, have you seem what people play in today’s pvp? Tell me how can a S/D thief wins against a A/S celestial warrior? Celestial D/D ele? Zerk Guardian? Turret engi? And other builds? Sure thieves have potential in 1×1, but they are far from being masters

– stolen skill is most times useful (thief, warrior, mesmer, ranger, necro)…one dodge/block/etc. of the enemy and all these things miss.
That make steal to a all or nothing mechanic. This is not OP, but just bad and easy to counter.
not to mention it needs do be TRAITED in order do do all that. if i’m not mistaking we need to spend 8 points in order to steal to do all that! awesome hum?!
Rangers will get a Grand Master Trait embedded in there signets FOR FREE. With thieves get the same treatment? I don’t think so.
looks like alot of fun to play but in spvp unfortunately it’s no good since we only have conquest mode and need to fight on a very small area…

Well they removed the sparing ranger npc from the heart of the mists, I guess that’s a start.
Warriors’ armor may look heavy but it is not! It is made of mithil. Hard as steel and light as a feather.
2 year anniversary coming up. Wonder when that 8th class will be added.
They still need another 2 years to fix bugs that persist since beta and balance professions.
Adding another profession now would also add more bugs and more balance problems.

I see no valid reason why you get the chance to go and better players don’t.You’re emo for all the wrong reasons. You seem to be confusing this event with some sort of top-tier competitive tournament, where personal ability is the factor that decides whether a person is qualified to participate. In actuality this event is about as far from competitive as can be. Gamescom is a show match between PUGs made up of folks in the GW2 PvP scene. I repeat, a show match. As such, BLU is probably the most qualified person to go.
Think what you will of BLU’s personal skill as a PvPer, that’s totally irrelevant. The dude has done more for the PvP scene than anybody else, even more than ANet themselves. There would be no scene if it wasn’t for BLU. It would be ludicrous if one of the most recognizable names in GW2 PvP did not participate in a promotional event such as this.

but the previous S/D meta was worse since #2 had no cast time and was a stun braker, also 3 stole 2 boons instead on 1 so this is not the worse spec ever. Also the other one had 30 in crits instead of trickery witch made it deadlier, doing alot more dmg. also the runes were Lyssa. nuf said xD

In order to get Steal to it’s “OP” level, you have to devote 8/14 of your trait points to it. 57+% of your traits into one skill on a 21.5s CD. If anything, the stolen skills should be looked at and adjusted as some are in fact OP (plasma, mace hc and Ice shard come to mind), but that is a general nerf to the thief and this thread is about Acro/Trick thief.
There are a couple of things ANET could do (doing all of these would probably kill the build):
1. Feline Grace: I’ve always felt this should only return the endurance IF you successfully evade an attack. Doing this should reduce this spec’s 1v1 ability a bit, but keep it viable in team fights.
2. Fluid Strikes: 10% damage increase for 90%+ of the time seems like a lot for a defensive trait line. Maybe a drop to 5-7% to start.
3. Signet of Agility: 100% endurance gain on instant cast that also removes condis is kind of strong when used with this build. There are a couple different things they could do here, add a .5-.75s cast time to it or make it proc 3s of vigor base and an additional 1s for each condition removed but no base endurance gain.
—————————————————-Also, the double proc of air and fire aren’t what make this build viable offensively… couple of things had to happen to get it were it is today in addition to the air/fire changes:
1. Base init regen increase
2. Zerk Amulet getting increased crit dmg after the intro of ferocity
3. Intro of new rune typesOnly 1 of those things is unique to the thief.
FWIW, unless you can average 2 (1.98…) targets per fire sig proc, you get more damage over time using sigil of force or accuracy. Unless my math is wrong… which is entirely possible, i think it’s a wash as to whether you go air/force, air/acc or air/fire over time.
Signet of Agility only removes 1 condi and although I agree that it might look op with this specific build, it is not for every other so they should not touch the signet but nerf the spec, just not to much or it will join the other specs in the “useless spec bin”.
The reason I play with this signet is because I don’t have any points in acrobatics and also the extra crit chance benefits my spec. It is a well designed signet that is useful for many builds. thieves already have very little useful utilities, pls don’t limit us even more.
all we have is black powder, shadow refuge, shadow step and a couple of signets, every thing else (poisons, traps etc…) is just terribly designed and do not fit the profession at all, not 1 spec takes advantage of these utilities. tks for that A-net!
You guys exaggerate way to much. Turret builds are not as bad as you paint them to be. There are a number of ways to kill or weaken a turret engineer such long ranging it. you only need an effective range of 1200 to deal with them comfortably and if they are using the shields to lock down your ranged attacks simply bait out the turrets then attack properly during the breaks in rotation. Or you could catch the engineer off point as it travels and take it out or weaken it before it arrives at destination. Or you could simply get a friend and tag team him as turret engineers don’t do well against multiple foes since most of there attacks are single target. And lastly you could simply treat it like a bunker guardian and leave it alone until you focus down his friends or redistribute the fights to outnumber his team on other points since he’s a slow kitten fatty.
that’s all very cute but if he is siting on a node and you are fighting him outisde the node on a conquest ONLY game, even if you manage to kill him (15 min. later) you have lost anyway. Not to mention that there are professions that do not have 1 single ability with that kind of range.

I play exclusively thief and am rank 63 atm i know what i’m talking about here.
D/D and D/P 222222222222222 spam is annoying but extremely easy to deal with. S/D 333333333333333 spam is not. not fun to play with and not fun to play against.
afk torrent engis and perma evade/stealth mesmers are far more op then any thief spec.

Question 2: why is Caed not in this list?
Fire/Air sigil + Acro Trickery is the problem. P/D Celestial is the other problem.
Those two build concepts need some shaving.
yeah, every thing else in the game is flawless, no other profession need “shaving”, just keep nerfing thieves to make every one happy.
It’s like football and politics, if there is no football every one complaints about politician, if there is football all problems vanish!
So as long as thieves are being nerfed, every thing else is “forgotten”.
Stuff like AI playing for you wile you go get a drink, warriors that can 1 shot ppl and get from A to B faster then other lighter professions, root bug, unkillable eles and so on.

via quitting the game or rerolling warriors, the important thing is that thieves get extinct.
