The Living Story has been nothing but GLOOM AND DOOM THE WORLD IS ENDING for months now. I think lots of people, myself included, could really use a break for something a little more lighthearted.

And it’s not like Scarlet is going away. She’ll still be invading zones after the current LS ends, just with less frequency. The point is she’s still at large.

?? What? In the last year we have seen absolutely seen nothing even closely releated to "GLOOM AND DOOM THE WORLD IS ENDING ". Nothing about the Elder Dragons. Nothing about Palawa Joko. Nothing about the Mursaat.

Just festivals, parties, more festivals, and the occasional overestimated wannabe-terrorist. If we just keep partying, the Elder Dragons might go back to sleep because they just can’t be bothered to interrupt yet another festival.

Okay if it’s too easy, grab on level armor and weapons, do not use any skills etc that would not be available to a player of that level, and then use a group of 10 to defeat him.

Or better still setup a perma death server.

He’s soloable without taking even 1 damage, just grab a ranged weapon and a skill that grants stability for 5 seconds with a cooldown of ~45seconds or lower.

There’s no new items. The armor is available in the gemstore for 500gems, an 18-slot box costs like 1 or 2g, and exp boosters are quite useless.

She can be easily solo’d while the instance was meant for 5 people.

Because if there wasn’t a limit, you’d get a whole ****load of freeloaders joining the map as soon as Scarlet spawns.

Party up with someone in the “main” map or overflow where the event IS running and Join them. You’ll probably be told the map is full, keep trying and you’ll get in anyway.

It’s not very hard. It’s basically a video with a partially transparent image (in the shape of the dragon) put on top of it. A bit of Javascript to scale the thing, and play some music.

The problem is that the current gemstore is very lacking. There is absolutely 0 incentive to spend real money on gems.

• Gemstore filled with RNG (Chests, dyes, mini’s), we don’t even know the odds of receiving whatever is inside.
• Most items are incredibly overpriced, for example a one-time use armor skin costs 10€. In comparison, GW1’s costumes cost 5,99€, have infinite uses and can be used on multiple characters.
• Few items. In a year only 2 armor skins have been added, and all weapons skins were temporary (or require RNG).
• Only 3 payment methods. Probably fine for NA, not for EU.

I think ArenaNet needs a bit more focus on IMPROVING the gemstore instead of adding more and more RNG.

Same. Actually I still have 3 characters which were created within the first 5 minutes the game went live (headstart), but none of them received anything.
All my characters /age says 11 months, but for account it says 12 months.

The mail you get (according to wiki) says this: “Congratulations! It’s the anniversary of your account activation”

I’ve seen others with the mini Jennah though.

Actually……they look very similar. The staff for instance is almost identical. Sure the colors are now brighter and the new ones aren’t as pixelated and blocky….they hold true to the look and feel of them.

GW1’s Zodiac weapons are very dark with bright yellow shiny things.
GW2’s Zodiac weapons are a blue blob with a few misplaced yellow dots.

They’re an insult to GW1.

Too much content? Every 2 weeks/month they add an amount of content you can play through in several hours.

Next up. The Champion Risen Giant. No, not the one at Arah, the one just pacing back and forth a ways west of the village of Ewan. Basically the same as the Veteran variant, only more HP, more grubs, and more annoying to fight.

??? This is one of the most killed champions in the game, as it’s part of the Cursed Shore champion farm rotation (Archmage, Baron(ess), Giant, Scorpion, Shark).

So Queen Jennah really is just Lazarus the Dire (in disguise) who has finally managed to regain his power. He’s planning to use the Watchknights to destroy (or enslave) Kryta and have his revenge at last.

With Logan so close to “her” he would be easy to kill/poison and with him gone, the Seraph will have no commander. The Ministry Guard lost its leader in the human personal storyline, making Divinity’s Reach even more vulnerable. “Queen Jennah’s” speech is just a distraction. With it being attended by a huge amount of people (and guards), the city would be even easier to take over.

Scarlet and the Aetherblades are really just misunderstood good-guys who know of Lazarus the Dire and are trying to warn everyone. The Tick-tock message is a warning that Lazarus will be exposed at last and that civil war may very well follow.

In the end, the players/good guys are victorious and Lazarus the Dire will be split into fragments once more: Mini Queen Jennah’s, each so weak and useless that Lazarus can never regain his power.

“ArenaNet Entertainment”? Looks like this mail was sent by the same folks who spam mails about your WoW account being compromised (even if you haven’t got a WoW account) and they just changed Blizzard to ArenaNet.

Forging Mystic weapons requires skill points, and used to be profitable. Not sure if it still is but you can do the math yourself, I presume. They’re around 8-9g each on the TP.

I don’t think adding new weapons is high on the priority list.

Every server has a certain number of slots for player accounts. While the more popular servers do fill quickly, they need to make sure the number of open slots across all servers is enough to handle new account sales. So every few months they raise the limit on all servers at once, I assume by adding more hardware to the servers to increase the amount of memory and how many connections they can process at once. I keeps them from getting into a situation where they sell 50,000 new boxes but can only handle 25,000 new accounts.

And, yes, this means that every few months current players have a chance to move to a popular server or to the server where their friends are.

You always have that chance. It’s just slightly cheaper now.

^ I think it’s more likely the caps have been lifted, since in a few days there will be a free trial. Probably lots of new folks will be trying out the game and Anet prepared for this.

I usually see it as a sign of criticizing a specific group within those who are being talked about. I think the poster you are mentioning made that comment specifically talking about the players who, by lacking long-term planning and thinking only on the short term, have asked ArenaNet for more ways to farm so they could afford more things in the TP. The logical (and obvious) flaw in that line of thought is that people farming more would add more gold to the economy and increase prices, thus new farming places wouldn’t make people afford more of most items in the TP, but many players are not smart enough to think beyond the “moar loot NAO” mentality.

But the logical (and obvious) flaw in your line of though is this: not everything in the game is bought off of the TP. Gold being easier to obtain also means stuff like T3 armor and expensive crafting materials sold only by vendors (such as Runes of Holding) become relatively easier to obtain.

Buy bag slots. 300g gets you 20 expansions which means 400 slots… though you wouldn’t be able to use them on a single character.

Getting rid of all that junk in your inventory would also help.

hype sells, content doesn’t. Their marketing division is way better than their developing one.

Servers are still busy with people. That means content does sell, or else they would be merging or closed down.

1) Tons of people who helped create those “fast selling” numbers have quit due to the severe disappointment of GW2.

2) I know a good majority of people who are making those “busy servers” busy merely because there is nothing better out and they are waiting for that next game.

Essentially GW2 has not been compelling enough to be a game that will stick and will be forgotten when that next game comes out.

3) Tons of people still play, even after almost a year, because the game (despite its shortcomings) is actually pretty good and enjoyable.
