You PVE’ers should consider yourselves all lucky.
In WvW we get spoons.
Shame that the only toons I have that use focuses are male. I just don’t think my mesmer needs to look any more “fantastic”.
Single target damage maybe.
because Anet’s system is flawed and is living proof that 100% random loot rates is a horrible system
Most of the gear in the game is acquired through non-random means.
The only thing that this is living proof of is the fact that even if there was one single item in the game that someone found it somewhat hard to obtain, there would be a massive whine thread about it.
Instead of the rifle, i’m more interested in seeing a dual focus teef for sum reason
Dual sceptres. They could juggle them.
I want powerful explosive microfusion ammo that aoe knockdowns. That’ll handle my cc survival needz.
Lol.
But seriously, there is room for stun, confusion, cripple, and blind as defensive rifle skills for a thief.
Dragon hunter is as to class names as Justin Bieber is to music.
And hope that lag doesn’t mean that the server thinks you are too far away / in front of / on a different continent from the target.
Last I checked, 19 guilds had moved to HoD. That’s a lot of gold spent transfering people over.
Well it wasn’t me. I won’t part with a single coin. Not one piece of it!
If was just about story I’d agree that art should come first.
But it’s also a game. More than that, it’s a multiplayer game played by thousands upon thousands of people of fantastic diversity. It’s hard to represent everyone, given the limitations of the media, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try.
All this has happened before. And it will happen again.
Now, keep in mind Angry Joe is still a celebrity of his own sort in the gaming world.
Lol. A gaming celebrity. That ranks somewhere on the celebrity scale between a popular game show contestant and a local radio DJ.
I’m not sure why people who want to play a ranger without a pet are playing a ranger at all.
Because it’s a Ranger not a Hunter, and this isn’t WoW. How many pets did Strider have?
Any player can own a golem banker or a siege golem.
Sylvari were good in the first part of the PS, but they got worse in the later parts of the PS, and the more they have them in the LS the more I feel like deleting the Sylvari I have left.
-Sylvari names do tend to the Gaelic/Arthurian, and “Mor” is a prefix often used for Arthurian villains/dark sorts (Morgan, Mordred, the Morrigu, etc).
Mordrem is an example of a phonestheme – we infer a meaning from other similar sounding words, like murder, murky and mortal and morbid. Probably due to the influence of the Latin mort, from which we derive mortalitity, and the French morte (death). And/or maybe from The old German mora for dark.
Tolkien deliberately based many nasty elvish names on the German mora: Mordor, Moria, Morgoth etc.
Player Sylvari have mental plot armor.
And RPG blinders. It’s typical of open world games that also have a linear plot. The bad guy has unleashed his full forces and the world is about to end, but what the hell, I’ll just do a bunch of unrelated missions, or go and collect some flowers.
I liked that in Mass Effect 2 if you ignored the main plot and did your own thing then it caused people to die.
Fact is population needs to be nerfed. I don’t even care how it would be done, but seeing some servers can afford having 10 man dolyak defending squads it’s quite ridiculous.
I’ve never seen that happen even when all maps were queued.
And a ten person yak escort sounds like ten bags waiting to drop.
Server population has almost no correlation with WvW.
And gaining a bunch of new players won’t help lower tier servers. They’ll just go up the rankings until they get stomped by the highest tier servers.
Only if a server is ranked dead last week after week should they get any players funnelled to them. And then it would only be a temporary solution, because another server would probably take their place.
Medium:
- Thief – Uses a rifle (proof)
This isn’t proof. I think a lot of people are forgetting that engineers use rifles and are medium armour.
Also he has some sort of flying machines tagging along with him, so I’m betting that was an engineer.
That’s assuming it was literally Mordremoth getting involved in the Dream. If the dream is in fact a display of your “destiny,” then whatever you see might just be things that already exist within it, right?
Or do we have proof that the dragon was actually Mordemoth’s invasion of the Dream?
I recall that one of the writers stated that it was the Shadow of the Dragon quite literally invading the dream (I don’t recall the exact quote, someone may like to search for it). There was no mention that it was operating on specific instuctions, or what its motives were.
But then, perhaps my unapologetically vehement lack of credularity at this “twist” of the plot has coloured my recollection.
The thing with the Mursaat bothers me and not only cause they were great villains and everything we have learned about them so far suggests they were a selfish and ruthless race.
You could say the same about various real human empires: the Egyptians, the Romans, the British. They all treated other people as lesser beings to be used as necessary.
But we know that the sylvari are dragon minions. This really destroys the spirit theory, imo.
I’m not sure it entirely destroys it. Some of Zhaitans minions, like the Eyes, had souls that predated their corruption.
I’ve always wondered about the similarity of the Pale Tree to the Veldrunner ancestor trees. It’s a long shot, but, there could be some connection.
Hopefully melee and defensive/control. Because necros have enough ranged and offensive choices already.
Pistols, rifles, guns in general are the worst weapon sets a ranger should have. These barbaric weapons have nothing to do with nature and the ranger theme.
You can take your nature theme and go dancing around the mulberry bush with it.
I thought the only people who liked Skyhammer were trolls.
Oh wait…
< 3 maps and I will be a sad Quaggan.
More than 6 and I’ll be running around like a Quaggan who’s Wintersdays have all come at once.
Ugg, Druids. I like the idea of every other weapon choose except this one. Who wants to play some walking chanting robed bearded anachronism?
Duh. And a copy for my son. And some extra character slots.
Yes, in 6 weeks only a playable demo at PAX East.
We still have no idea when the beta start, nor when it will be released.
Or if.
What does Maguuma mean for future regions?

I hope they don’t make all the maps into mazes. Sometimes a maze map is ok, but having to take circuitous routes all the time gets old quickly.
Depends what you can accomplish with 1 person guild. A patient player can end up with their own personal deep cave, so it might be possible for one person to build a guild hall.
Maybe you should buy two copies and two monitors and run them both at once, cause that rig should have no trouble with it.
You might even be able to run ACU at halfway decent frame rate
It sounds horrible. Like some hack fiction in the young adult section of the book store.
The phrase “masters of time” literally made me cringe.
Sylvari don’t seem to Ascend or anything when they finish their Wyld Hunt, so they can never truly know that they’ve finished it.
If the Dragon Caithe saw was the same as the one we saw, then Zhaitan wasn’t her Wyld Hunt, anyway. Mordremoth is.
Mordremoth sends his champion into the dream to auger that the Wild Hunt of two of his own minions will be to cause his own demise?
Makes perfect sense.
How many times does a bottom tier server have to bandwagon their way up the ranks before it becomes clear that this isn’t a good idea?
I mean it’s not like it hasn’t happened before. How short are people’s memories?
I think we can all agree that this is the hardest to get ingredient when making Ascended items…
Could anyone give me a good suggestion on how to get them? WvW, EofM doesn’t seem to give them any longer.
And I’m not the biggest fan of jumping puzzles… Any help is VERY appriciated!
I get a huge surplus from WvW. I just trash them now.
Imbalances in classes are most obvious when you pit those classes directly against one another.
That is all.
How numerous were Druids?
It doesn’t seem likely that there were enough to be reincarnated as a whole race.
Hey guys!
As the player we get to kill Zhaitan in Arah. We shot him down from high above. But as far as I know there has been no confirmation he actually died. No one went down to his body. Therefore it could be he is recovering from his damage and getting ready for revenge. Wait for it…
Or am I missing something?:P
Seriously, what difference does it make? If the writers want to bring him back, there’s always a way. Look how many times the Joker from Batman or the Master from Doctor Who, or countless other villains, returned from the “dead”.
The people who feed them annoy me more.
Edit: they should put a sign on the road: “Warning: Do not feed the Trolls!”
Kessexs hills is the source of toxic spores so another way of getting those would be needed. Lions arch will eventually be rebuilt. Personally not in a hurry.
Spores can last for years. They probably spread like weeds if they aren’t cut down regularly.
7 MONTHS AGO… I WAS RIGHT! All of you bashed me for saying the sylvari are servants of Mordremoth. Now who has pie on their face?
Even a broken clock is right once a day. Every single ambulatory plant creature in Tyria has been tipped to be a minion of Mordremoth. Some of them were bound to be right.
I know what the pale tree is. The Pale Tree was suppose to be the Champion of Mordremoth but it became like Glint.
Settle pettel. We don’t know she was a champion, and we don’t know how she was “freed”.
All the servants of Mordremoth, namely the Sylvari, are the offspring the Pale Tree
I can’t imagine how you could think that all Mordem are offspring of the tree. Not even all Sylvari are offspring of the Pale Tree.
This is why the sylvari cannot be corrupted by other elder dragons. They are essentially owned by Mordremoth.
The Pale Tree claims otherwise. The fact that they are minions is not the source of their immunity. I guess that just goes to show you can jump to the right conclusion from the wrong premise.
Finishers are still broken.
If they nerf warrior enough, I might be forced to use another go-to class in WvW.
Not EoTM.
But when you’re in an unbalanced matchup it’d be nice to see some fresh blood.
What the OP says is true. I have seen commanders/guilds actively avoid uplevels, and even pugs. And I have heard people complain about them. And it’s becoming more common in chat and on comms.
Maybe it would be better to remove it from WvW. It still has a place in PVE.
Because contracts can’t be enforced.
Probably just carry on as usual
I.e. Rage on the forums.
