You will still need an exotic Insignia to craft the ascended Insignia.
However, they will propably make the Insignia available through Guild Commendations, just like the Inscription and their price on the TP will crash, so better sell now.

not all – there is a sudden drop of 7 gold …which happened early today – I just started watching it last night because the price was so high at 19 gold – then the 10’s and 9’s and suddenly 2.
As others already mentioned, it is not the 2g price tag that is uncommon, its the 19g spike that happened yesterday.
The spike most probably happened because someone bought out most of the stock and didnt check, how much of those swords were actually listed at 2g.
Most of the pearl weapons bought on the tp are being dumped into the mystic forge and not being equipped.

I would say that with the cost measured in Guild tokens (a time-gated currency), Settlers armor is time-gated. Unless by some miracle your server rises up and smites all Karkadom simultaneously and you happen to be in Southsun Cove to see it…
I did say “crafted” exotic armor.
So did I. The Guild vendor sells the insignia so you can craft them.
You got your facts in a little twist there.
The Guild Commendations Vendor only sells Sentinel Inscriptions for Weaponcrafting, not Settler Insignias for armorcrafting.
The Southsun Economist only sells settler weapons, not armor.

I think its actually between 10-40 with an average of 17.
The guy in the video also makes the mistake to to upgrade ore, not ingots.
Ingots usually yield a higher profit because you only need half the amount of Dust and Stones.

I might be wrong here, but shouldn’t this type of thing already be happening as part of someone’s job over there as is? I really don’t think a simple “Good” is sufficient to the question “How is the in game economy going?” from the higher ups who make the decisions. They want information much like we do and I’m sure it’s within someone’s job to give them such.
Imo they just don’t want to share this info with us now that has evolved.
They surely have the data and also have to be really careful about what they release to the player base.

What I want to find is content that matches very specific criteria:
- drops loot bags containing silver doubloons.
- contains an event chain of 5+ events.
- 2+ of the events in the chain must be timed defense events – a “defend this point until the clock expires” or equivalent. These are the farm events.
- links to multiple champions, or a world chest, or both – this is the main attraction.
If you can find me that, I think can find you a Zerg that will roll the events – if I do that enough on the same server, they won’t need me to lead them, they will farm it themselves, adding a stack+ of loot bags to the economy each time.
Repeat that across all servers as part of peoples daily routine, and prices will take a dip… But it takes the right kind of content to draw the players (and assumes players are not currently doing this).
//Portable Corpse
Scarlets Invasions match all your criterias (Aetherblade Pirates drop Light Bags of Booty when a lvl 20-30 map gets invaded) and personally i think that the initial Invasion LS has alot to do with the current price spike.
The 2 updates in August, Queens Jubilee and the Invasions, were both 5-star-farmfests and many people made alot of gold during August.
In my opinion, Anet wanted to pump some gold and mats into the economy prior to ascended weaponcrafting.
In the first half of 2012, not many people were actually able to go for the Juggernaut because they still didnt get the pre cursor or could afford it.
I finished mine in May or June, I think.
But during August, alot of people could actually afford (or thought they could) to go for Juggernaut. Unfortunately the supply for Silver Doubloons kept steady while the demand rose.
As I already mentioned in my post above, Light Bags of Booty drop silver doubloons and are farmable from Aether Blade Pirates during invasions in lvl 20-30 maps and when the Invasions were on an hourly basis in August, hundreds of stacks entered the Trading Post/economy every hour.
So during August, Silver Doubloon supply was also at a high but soon after, it dumped down significantly.

What loot bags are we talking about? I have yet to see THAT info posted anywhere.
I’m guessing anything with SMALL or regular bags? Are they specific types of bags?
Is this kind of “loot table” info available for consumption on the internet? I have yet to locate this data myself.
I get this may be info people are trying to keep secret, but I’m generally just curious for a variety of reasons (I certainly don’t have the gold to buy stacks of loot bags on the TP even if they were available).
I’d appreciate a PM if nobody wants to post it public.
Zorric mentioned it in his OP, you cant have looked very hard.

Concerning drop rates:
Some of the pages from the bags on the wiki have a link to droprate research, here is an overview of most bags in the game:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Container
Fortunately, I have the gold to buy dozens of stacks of lootbags on the tp and in the last 4 months I opened nearly 100k of them for profit.
I have spreadsheets with average droprates of the items on the loot table per stack and a little program, that tracks the prices of the lootbag itself and of each item on the loot table.
Based on my personal droprate research (which usually has a way higher sample size than the drop rate research on the official wiki), it also calculates the projected profit per stack at current prices.
From those 100k lootbags, nearly half of them were Light Bags of Booty because for me, they have been the most profitable at certain times, when their supply was high, so those are the ones i bought the most.
I wont give you the exact percentage of the Silver Doubloon droprate but you can expect between 0.6-0.9 Silver Doubloons per stack.
One of the bags with Silver Doubloons on the loot table has an average droprate of over 1.0 per stack but usually the value of the other items on the loot table were abysmal, so not really worth it.
But with SD´s reaching 2g now, i might do some more research into that one.

Gold can come into the game in 2 ways
- Thru normal progression of the game. This would be an infinite supply of constantly stamped coin as everyone is making money if they do almost anything out in the open world
- Buying Gems with Cash and converting to gold
No. 2 is wrong because the gold you get for your gems was put up there by a player that earned it doing No. 1.
If you could find a source for that, it would be appreciated, because while it seems the intuitive assumption, the gem exchange just isn’t a symmetrical player-to-player market like most of the TP is. For the easiest example of this in action, imagine at the start of the game, when the first player tries to buy gold/gems. There’s no way to put up an order for them for someone else to fill, so they had to have their purchase filled from the imaginary coffers of the Black Lion Trading Company itself. While currency exchanges made do have an effect on the rate of exchange, it’s not a one-to-one exchange.

Hum….
We have players who farm the level 1-15 areas. We have ayers who farm the level 80 areas. Are we missing players who farm the areas that drop silver doubloons?
They dont drop directly from mobs, so hardly farmable.

Hey guys,
i was wondering and looking through all ascended trinkets and stuff but noticed only Settler Stats wasn’t in it (which me and many others do need)
Any chance they’ll make ascendend trinkets, jewelry and later on, armor of it?
Thank you very much,

3k+ gems later and I’m the proud owner of two of the six shades. Neither is one I particularly wanted, but I guess I should feel fortunate that I spent the equivalent of 45 US dollars on them.
Wouldnt it be cheaper to buy them on the TP for gold?
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
It is just there for less clicking whats so hard to believe there?
It’s hard to believe because it is a stupid idea. Why would the want us to save a few clicks when we still have other stuff where we need to click a lot? Also why not just add luck automatically after you salvage(without giving essences)? Would be much easier and even save more clicks.
I mean really… a recipe just to save a few clicks lol.
Also where is the official response? I never read anything about it where a dev said that they wanted this only to save clicks.
What do you need an official response for if its the only use for those recipes?
In my opinion its a very good and quality of life feature.
Awarding luck directly from salvages as you mentioned might have also worked, i give you that.
But by implementing it the way they did, they kept their option to add additional recipes for EoL in the future.
Personally, i expect them to add something like craftable mf boosters, once more accounts reach 300% mf or EoL being used to craft Magic Find Utility Infusions when ascended jewelcrafting goes live.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
That’s only because ascended armor crafting is not in yet. When people will start raising tailor/leatherworker to 500, the prices are going to skyrocket.
Exactly like it happened with metal and wood already. There are over 8 million thick leather squares on the TP for the lowest possible price. I won’t see the price of those sky rocketing any time soon.
Many people thought the same thing about candy corn
You forget about the fact that Candy Corn had its storage space decreased significantly with the Halloween patch. Since you can trade 4 stacks of candy corn for 1 cob, you can effectively store 250k candy corn in 1 inventory slot.
The millions of candy corn that got bought out of the market in the last 2 months are still in players´ inventory, just as cobs.
I doubt that alot of candy corn actually ended up as a recipe sheet for the halloween weapons.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
They still drop.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
Really? Every profession should know how to do the same thing? Kinda odd request. Almost like asking that your armorsmith can make food buffs cause you don’t want to spend the minute and a half of putting the food in you storage and than logging on to another character to use it.
You are not “making” anything, you are only transforming the smaller into the larger item. All professions, except maybe chef, follow the same basic path and use the same ingredients for the most part, call it inscription or insignia.
That would almost be like saying only an armoursmith should be able to salvage armour and only a weaponsmith can salvage weapons.
Edit: It feels simply out of place for crafting to me in the first place.
I agree with you Rouven it’s not like they put it in the mystic forge or something where everyone had access to it immediately.
Upgrading Essences of Luck in the Mystic Forge would defeat the initial purpose of less clicking because the mf has no “Craft all” option.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
So anyone already found a useful idea why they put these recipes? Or do we still not have other crafting recipes that use higher quality essences? I just can’t believe it is only for “less clicking” – otherwise we would have this in other parts of the game too.
For example the new WXP consumables where the smallest(that drop a lot) only give 250 – you would need 20 for 1 rank. Would also make sense to let us upgrade these.
Also it would make sense if we really could gain anything from it… not only saving clicks(nobody needs it if you regularly use the essences you don’t have many clicks only a few every time you salvage).
Like some other recipes that use higher quality essences or WXP items.
Or a better conversion rate where you really gained more luck or WXP but had also to put other stuff(=which is worth some silver) into the recipe.
It is just there for less clicking whats so hard to believe there?
And your example with the WXP consumables lacks a bit because they drop in way less quantities than EoL.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
A couple of people underestimated the velocity of the market and it cost them quite a bit of gold, this is what happens 99.999% of the time in GW2.

It wont happen because it would lower the value of Juggernaut by about 400 gold if it happens.
I dont see this should stop Anet from implementing a change. They warned us months ago that the economy will be in disequilibrium in the second half of 2013.
Even if Juggernaut loses 400G in value, thats less than 20% value decrease.
T6 Dust lost over 60% value when they made ectos salvageable and Sentinel Inscriptions lost over 70% value when they made them available from the Guild Commendations Vendor.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
I think, when you joined your friend in his home instance a couple of days ago, you farmed his crystal node. As you stated that you didnt even know that you had a quartz crystal node, maybe thats the case.
Just check in your achievement tab, if you finished the meta achievement for the Bazaar of the 4 Winds Living Story.
If you havent, you dont have a quartz node in your home instance and can only farm it, if you join someone who unlocked it in their home instance.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
which is why its smart to craft exotics whose inscriptions can be salvaged back out after crafting (IE: magi, rabid, dire, settler, sentinel, ect)
once you’re done crafting you can salvage inscriptions and resell them to recoup losses.
First of all, Sentinel Inscriptions arent salvageable at all and the others that you mentioned are only salvageable from non-crafted weapons with those stats.

There is but i would advise against it because it still costs the same amount of mats to craft the box as if you would craft each piece individually.

Due to everybody crafting exotic weapons to level their weaponcrafting, there is an oversupply of weapons right now.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
Right now it is not available but I am certain, it will be introduced with ascended armorcrafting.
They did the same with the Sentinel Inscription with ascended weaponcrafting, making it obtainable through the Guild Commendation Vendor for 10 Guild Commendations and 80 silver.
I am sure, they will do the same with the Sentinel Insignia. 10 Guild Commendations will still be a long grind for some people but that change brought the price of the Inscription on the Trading post down from 30g to under 10g.

You buy the recipe for the clerics orichalcum imbued inscription from the master weaponsmith at the crafting station.
To craft the inscription, you need:
5 orichalcum plated dowels (30 orichalcum ore and 30 ancient wood)
5 Ectoplasm
5 Elaborate Totems
Once you crafted the inscription, you need to craft 1 each orichalcum sword blade and sword hilt (or greatsword blade and hilt) and throw the blade, hilt and inscription together in the discovery panel.
You can farm the ori and ancient wood in the Orr Maps, Southsun Cove and Frostgorge Sound, will take around 1-2 hours i would guess.

Maybe I’m just bad at math. 400 to 500 is ~2.4 Million CXP. That’s ~480 Discoveries.
7 Weapons, 9 Prefixes, 3 qualities is about 190 weapons. What do I do for the rest?
10 prefixes, you either forgot sentinel or givers.
from 400-425 you can either refine mats or craft rare inscriptions, from 450-475 you can refine ascended mats or use the new 450 recipes using spores.
Also dont forget that you can use sigil and consumable discoveries.

We take matters of blobing very seriously and as a result we have made over 20 employees redundant. As a serious corporation we have reached agreements on redundancy packages to minimize backlash.
When we raid as a company we always try to coordinate with other guilds to ensure that we are roaming with equal numbers. In the event that we can’t coordinate our accountants try to carry out on the field mathematics to ensure that we are fighting on equal terms. This has obviously failed and as a result we have taken the action described above.
This has obviously crippled our growth as an organisation and the road to economic recovery and stability starts now. As long as our employees and management maintain a strict work ethic and rigorous working schedule then we should be back up and running in 2 -3 working days.
We take such extreme measures to keep our name clean and away from negativity. We have always maintained a good working relationships with our partners and we aim to continue that as we grow in this sector.
