In present day Tyria it might be a bit of a stretch – but the abundance of Bone Dragons in GW1 suggests that it might have been feasible at some point in the past (as in, dragons – of the lesser kind – could once have been far more commonplace in Tyria than they have been within the last 250 years).
Hm, would reanimated dragon bones be a bit more common. It was basically going to be one of the first things he reanimated as a serious Necromancer and he holds a special bit of affection for his first creation ((Which is the excuse for it being non-combat))
Hey all, quite a curious question here. Basically, my Human Necromancer has the Mini Tequatle pet and in character I want to spin it as a found, dying dragon whelp that he put out of it’s misery and then resurrected with the same soul as an undead.
Now 99.9% of my RP backround comes from Dungeons and Dragons, where this could easily be a common occurrence. Dragon’s are plentiful in the D&D universe and in turn, eggs and whelps are as well. Gw2 not so much.
So is it too far fetched for my character to have found a dying dragon whelp and saved/undead (ed?) it. Glint is an example of a dragon who has no affiliation to the Elders, though she is an extremely special case. Are there any species that happen to highly resemble dragons, just not quite, be them if it turns out this is too lore broken?
All in all i’m trying to stick to lore as tight as possible, without being completely random and or Mary-Sue’ish. So any thoughts on this subject?
Because if it had those the playerbase would SCREAM paytowin and throw a world class hissies, do you remember the Watchwork Pickaxe?
I think out of combat it should be aloud to move with you. This way you’re not stuck to an area, and don’t have to pop the worm JUST to move to a different area.
Not having an issue with it.
Minions are now dying on level change while running through zones where you are under leveled. The game sees your HP change and thinks you unslotted flesh of the master, killing off all your minions. This is 100% reproducible simply slot flesh of the master, summon minions and wander a low level zone till your level and in turn your HP changes.
Actually, back during season one it was mentioned Omadds Machine UNLOCKED something in scarlets mind already there, a block. My theory being the pale tree itself is a liberated minion, the same way glint broke from Kralky.
The dream as it where is what I believe as the pale tree, placing your own block on you as your born. Perhaps it’s not a fully severed connection from mordy.
Aren’t there runes to assist in countering Condition spam?
Massive fan of Ace Attorney. This homage, just epic, bravo Anet, I’d love to see more gaming references in the Living World Story.
No problem, beat it first try. Awesome fight love to see more difficulty.
Glint was promiscuous. That dragoness got around. XD
Ill vote for a linux port. While it’s a bit more complicated then the average OS like windows. It’s more secure and Micro$oft can’t extort us into their new operating systems with the new direct X versions.
Being a very low level programmer I can attest to how easy it is for a bit of code to get broken by a variable you where not ready for.
This could be anything from the mass amount of people doing the event to kitten nugget A with armor B that’s skinned with armor C causing this to hiccup and not reset. You can’t test for every conceivable bug… The best thing you can do is be quick to squash them
It feels like the start to their claim of play owned housing. We’re seeing more stuff for the home instance and I think their gauging community want on how much we buy into these things.
Why do people not care about Belinda’s death? When I saw her dead it utterly shocked me. Maybe I get connected to characters a lot more easily than other people…
Or I’m a special person. The world may never know.
She appeared for nearly all of two missions, one was her death mission. She barely had any dialog, the dialog that was there was good, don’t get me wrong, but we had no backstory, nothing to relate to, nothing to draw into the character. She was there and dead.
My character? Indifferent. There was a tinge of remorse solely because it was the sibling of one of MY group members.
Beyond that I did not know Majory’s sister, my character has seen people die on a daily basis and even resurrects some of them as tools to fight with, beyond the pity for my party member, nothing.
Don’t wanna spoil it for you yet but if you look closely in the area, you’ll find Strikka there.
Oh noes… ;_; …. That is totally something in my eye by the way… Dry top is dusty, there is sand everywhere….
So i’m wandering through Scarlet’s tunnels again… I’m a lore buff and wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything. While strolling through with my minion armada I wander across a lone Skritt, clearly using the infinite stealth exploit… Anyways I talked to him, wondering to myself “Why was a little Skritt down here all by himself.”
So his dialog was. “You. You will help Kritki, Strikka is lost, gone in the ground shake. Kritki is lost without Strikka.”
So being the right bold adventuring, undead summoning necromancer I am I ask him.
“What are you doing here?”
He responded with.
“Looking for shinies at first. Now looking for Strikka. Lotsa rocks fell. To heavy for Kritkri to move.
Needless to say it warmed my cold heart and I was instantly on the search for the little Skrits lost love… Alas I was unable to locate her, so I turn to the adventurers here to ask if you’ve seen a little Skritt named Strikka wandering around any of the camps. While I widen my search I hope someone else may have wandered across this refuge, perhaps posted up in one of the nearby refuge camps.
Also, it’s known fact the machine removed the mental protection sylvari have from the pale tree keeping them from being corrupted by mordy. For a sylvari player it doesn’t make much sense, but Sylvari are pretty much the only player race that can’t be dragon corrupted till mordy.
Hahahahaha I think I might up and join Mordremeth if this becomes a thing. Little, worthless balls of fat.
Loved it, whoever the writer or writers where for this piece of content need to get floated a big fat pay raise.
For once I actually gave a kitten about the story members, each one had personality, each one had interesting things to say.
9/10
The only reason I deduct a point is because Kas and Majory’s lovey dovey crap was really really forced down. The entire time I was thinking.
“Okay we get it your in love, now can you help me find this mass murdering psycho?”
Regardless, I hope to god we get more, well-written and interesting content, even in little instances like this!
I’m on Tarnished Coast. Just completed the crystal grab event with 9 or so people involved. Then did the sparring rock event, we had 11 people including myself. I’m not seeing this empty desolation.
How anyone can listen to Evon’s ambient dialogue in Vigil Keep after Scarlett attacked Lion’s Arch, and still think Evon is a nice guy is beyond me. The guy is terribly greedy, only thinks about himself, and has no regard for his fellow citizens.
1 – It’s thanks to him and his goods that we were able to defeat Scarlet. He provided the Lionguard with their equipment.
2 – Evon tried to warn the Captain’s Council, but no one listen to him. If he were elected last year, Lion’s Arch would have had air defenses. The citizens were slaughtered thanks to Kiel. Your friends, your family, all gone. And this is mostly because more players wanted to temporarily save a few silver on WP costs…
Wait, so your saying Anet would have scrapped an entire boss fight and an event if it was a separate person. Why wouldn’t the council have flipped Evon the bird if he was on it aswell? Hell he’s not even in the same species as half of them.
On top of that, conversations with Keil before the attack on LA said she was quite worried too but the council would not listen.
Sounds like a council issue not a Keil issue
And the only reason he supplied the lion guard was so he could secure his own assets in the city. Hell he was even forced to do it ala the conversion at vigil keep where they straight TOLD him he needed to donate supplies.
I loved it, it was some amazing story telling and character development… Well, not so much for Brahm… Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed how they told the beginning of this new chapter, looking forward to more.
Buff: power rangers
I agree, taking away the 5 power ranger megazord combo a few patches back left both them and earth completely defenseless from giant monsters.
I’m all for this, buggy animations and tiny models make this slightly unbalanced, even a tiny imbalance can still swing favor if exploited correctly.
Exact same specs, sitting on 57 fps during the sandstorm
Agreed, I get it your in love, you care about each other, now kitten and help me search for this VIP who might be captured or dead….
I don’t mind them at all, I find they add a bit of flavor.
Agreed, people pay attention when the NPC’s speak, not so much the main characters.
Zephyrite: The summer sun shone bright once more, warmed wood and cloth of home.
Zephyrite: We honored those who came before, and journeyed where they roamed.
Zephyrite: (humming)
Zephyrite: Alas, alas, we’ve no more peace, no ally from on high.
Zephyrite: We’ll make our way to brighter day and into clearer skies.
Zephyrite: (humming)
Zephyrite: No more to tame the wind and rain, the skies to swallow whole.
Zephyrite: She flies no more in glinting beam and leaves a hollow hole.
Zephyrite: (humming)
Zephyrite: Alas, her magic strewn in sand. Alas, her soul undone.
Zephyrite: The clouds shed tears upon the land for the loss of our crystal sun.(voice says “mourning of crystal sun.”)
Zephyrite: (humming)
Zephyrite: No more to tame the wind and rain, the skies to swallow whole.
Zephyrite: She flies no more in glinting beam and leaves a hollow hole.
Zephyrite: (humming)
Zephyrite: Alas, alas, how time must pass. Ancient, magical friend.
Zephyrite: So terrible, so dreadful that so treasured should so end.
Zephyrite: (humming)
Zephyrite: No more to tame the wind and rain, the skies to swallow whole.
Zephyrite: She flies no more in glinting beam and leaves a hollow hole.
Zephyrite: Alas, alas, alas, alas…
Zephyrite: Alas, and so we go…
Zephyrite: We fly on high into the sky…
Zephyrite: And cry, “Alas, alas, alas…”
That’s the song they sing aboard the ship and they also mention tending to “Her Legacy” We know a legacy is often times a child or offspring.
For them to bring the child along, instead of hiding it away, even more so with glints past beef with Kralkatoric it seems kind of odd to expose the offspring to such dangers.
“mount”, how rude!
centaurs usually have high pride and dont like anyone to ride them. Calling them mount is disrespecting.
XD
They can find it rude all they want as I resurrect their prideful kitten into undead minions.
I reached the exact same speculation. The thing that pointed me to it was during the past LS where it mentioned the shadow and or corruption was already in scarlets mind and using the Asura’s machine unlocked it.
This lead me to believe that the Sylvari themselves are liberated dragon minions much like glint.
And that the pale tree has a block to keep Mordremeth’s influence out. I believe the Nightmare Court have this block removed and have given into Mord’s influence.
Okay, first off the entire fight is on a rail. It is NOT random where those red zones come down, they are in a pattern every time, even more so in phase two. Secondly, the safest spot to fight her is right on top of her as phase two eats half the booard with the red circles in a VERY easy to decern patter, infact, where you where just standing to be safe is where the next zone will fall, allowing you to dance right on the edge. Fear, stun, cripple, daze and or invul/dodge roll her clones, it’s a VERY easy fight/
The question is, what do you want with the tokens if you only play WvW?
You don’t get any blueprints in exchange for them…
Uh, skins for World V World?
Personally, I say no drops is better than the economic disaster caused by last year’s Crown Pavilion. The lack of experience gain, however, I do have a problem with.
This raises a problem, see the reason CP was so packed last year was because of the farm, the farmers came there to farm and in turn aided in completion. That is not offered this time, meaning far less people and harder to complete events.
This is good, perhaps Anet figured out that we enjoy being the hero instead of playing second fiddle (Cough cough Treayhern Cough cough)
We had the pleasure of killing scarlet and now we’re considered in charge of our own adventuring group. Good Ju Ju imho
I’m quite content with Corrupt Boon, Path of Corruption and Focus five. It crushes these boonstacking builds beautifully.
It’s the players fault, they’re the ones setting the gem market and running their Gem>Gold Gold>Gem prices.
Because apples aren’t oranges and if every orange then tastes like an apple, there is little point to tasting the apple isn’t there?
It’s the necromancer’s flavor, plain and simple.
Honestly I think boon punishment is the way to go with this.
Unfortunately this is the PVP community we’re talking about. If the change did take place there would be no sweeping adaption, just a wave of intense complaining from the Elementalist battle-stack crowd and guardians. To the point we might even see said classes simply drop Tpvp matches when they notice a necro on the other team.
Logic wise it makes sense, balance wise it’s tricky and grey.

If you have a buddy who has his node, you can follow him into his own home instance and gather blade shards off his node. My buddy has been farming my candy corn, sprockets/shards and crystals lately.

Hey all, so i’ve been super tempted to try a condition build out of SPvP and wanted some input on gear.
Dire, I really REALLY like the defense this build gives while still adding a decent amount of condition I lose out on the extra crit which procs more bleeds down the curses line, but it might be something I can live without.
Rapid, Supreme conditions, conditions being the main stat, then precision on the back end to prock more bleeds from curses. This set feels like it was BUILT for a condition necro and I can dream of the damage it pumps out. The only thing that makes me weary is the LACK of defense Dire offers.
Now I mainly WvW out of Spvp but I do roll around in PVE combat and SOMETIMES fractals. I know the conditions cap is a detriment but I don’t mind it entirely.
So, in general, what do you think would be the better set for me.
Also, runes and traits might be a bit useful as well but I can navigate those half decently.
Necro here, I agree fully with the OP I was running a deathshroud flash build that worked amazingly up until the patch. Now i’ve switched over to condition necro because I simply couldn’t break though the bunker condi burst builds. Prior to the patch my shroud flash would snag 5 kills a game easy… My condition necro is now scoring 9 to 10 plus with no issues what so ever. It really upsets me because being a mm from birth I rather detested conditions. I guess it’s adapt or quit sadly.
The focus has really been helping in all situations, I came across one Ele and did strip the entire rack successfully Corrupt into focus into shroud fear+ dark path but they did come back rather fast and I was still on cooldown XD Either way, I was also having positioning issues which I am remedying.
All in all it’s improved a tad =D The new shift in meta is taking some getting used too.
Yeah, i’m running Shill I think ill swap to focus as well it seems like we’re in a very boon heavy meta with Guard, Engi, War and Ele boon humping constantly, thank you for the tips.
Hey all, so i’ve been playing a new build Condi necro and for three or so games now I getting put up against this certain Ele build that can pump half their HP up and carries a full boon stack.
I was told by an Ele that this was basically an abuse of Battle+Strength to stack intense might while boon blocking it with other things. I of course spammed my purge as fast as possible whilewaiting for the heavy stacks to come it, but I could not shut down this Ele. eventually, it took 3 of us and I went on pin down duty to supress the ele as much as possible with CC but I was watching this Ele easily take 2v1 across several games.
Now i’m not complaining I just need a strat to fight these, i’ve tried controlling them for Allies and keeping them boonstripped with PoC and Corrupt
Why would a Charr be wearing Charr bones when there are so many human ones available around Ascalon? :p
If I remember correctly the assaulting charr army was roasted while attacking ascalon and and most of the civilians had already ran off with rorik. So no, there’s probably more charr bones there since the charr attacked with everything and breed like rabbits.
