Noble, Bhawb has been around for a VERY long time and is still the LEADING minion expert on the forums, take a look back =P
Also, minion AI was great BEFORE the marionette, I had been full minion master before said patch and my minions worked just fine. After that patch they lost complete pathing intelligence, forcing them to stand in one place and jerk around. this was also the patch where bone minions upon summon would attack the nearest neutral mob, look through my topic history, I actually made posts about it explaining and reproducing the bugs. =P
Bhawb also did Minion HP tests both in the mists and out when they took their 75% HP buff in PVE I actually responded to the topic explaining it. =P
Also, if anyone has any tips for the shroud flash build it’s

usually running Dagger/Horn, staff, Traveler runes, and PVT gear.
SPvp, sorry should have stated that in the opening post.
So my shroud flash build is absolute trash in the new meta, I can barely touch anything, including the current god-mode dagger eles and the incredibly strong engineers. I cannot pump out enough pressure or damage to slide anyone below 50%, in a team setting with extra damage I am stronger, but i’m getting neutered running points atm… So I need a new build. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Not having an issue with my deathshroud flash build, shrouded removal tends to that pathetic 2 stacks of bleed while giving me 10 might, fury and stability.
So my friend is trying to transfer to my server, can’t quite afford the money for gems and is under the impression if she dumps all her characters it will let her swap. Her highest is a level 23 so it’s no problem for her to delete and move then remake while I help her level.
So is this a feasible option for her to get onto my server with me?

whats the make up build wise? I’d do 1 condi, and 4 power necros myself, alot of times your hitting the bleed cap and wasting potential dmg.
edit: also notice a lack of food/utility buffs.
Yes, this whole run was just out of the blue. Me and my friend were like, Oh lets do a MM run! and we snagged 3 pugs. I just slapped a random 30/30/10 build together to mess around.
Does this mean Minions are fixed again? I so a very distinct lack of minions danacing in place cause they can’t find pathing
Minions still get confused by staff AA and marks, but if you focus on a single target with scepter AA for example, then they’ll move on to their target.
Saddly it’s not the case, just swapped my build back, testing in LA they still jerk in place if they can’t find pathing, this is with using dagger one.

Yeah, the Escape from LA patch broke something in the minion AI again. Hopefully ANet can replace the code from the previous working version.
Na it broke on the marionette patch, it’s been amplified this patch.
Yeah I posted a topic a day or so ago that got buried without any sort of response. But the search is indeed not working.
Either way, i’d be nice to atleast get a confirm that they know about it and are attempting to look into it.
I know for a fact the Aetherblades with shields. Their name escapes me… Gets a damage immune shield that brings my Thief and necros damage down to 10’s and 20’s the shield DOES were off and I do do normal damage till they rebuff the shield are you POSITIVE you’re experiencing a bug OP? Keep an eye out for the aetherblade’s with shields.
We’ll get a fix… Hopefully, but we need to keep up the awareness on this, it’s a really big, classbreaking bug.
Well the quicker they see it and knowledge it the quicker it’s fixed. I really want my build back.
I’d like to bring it to the attention of the devs about minion pathing bug. Since the Marionette patch minion pathing has become completely broken. This bug is 100% reproducible. Simply go into ANY zone and command your minions to attack anything nearby, make sure you have a bit of space between them. Your melee minions. Shadow Fiend, Flesh Golem and Bone minions will stand in place and continually jerk as if trying to reassign their paths every couple of seconds.
This will also occur with the ranged minions as well if you command them to attack while they are just out of their max range, they will attempt to get closer, but like the melee minions they will stand there and jerk in place till the creature either moves or you get closer.
This is an absolutely gamebreaking bug for ANY necromancer playing with a minion build.
If needed I can EASILY create and post a video of this happening, I would really like the devs to take a look at this, or at least let us know they are looking at this new bug.

Most of these events pop several times during the invasion, I lost track to, so you know what I did? I did almost all of them in one run it was ungodly easy. Found out I needed Moa’s and Lawson, so my next two events where Moa’s and Lawson, problem solved ~_~

The crappy little Asuran city is even better then LA is, the bank and AH is within spitting distance of each other and the crafting stations are a 10 second run.
Get over it, you’re paying an almost F2P game you want them to do new things like destroying LA? They need to try and make some cash.
Well don’t let this die guys, neither this thread nor the necro forums have gotten a response to this, so Anet is either ignoring it or hasn’t seen it yet. I’m hoping for the latter.

Hey all, if you didn’t know by now minions are absolutely broken, Anet messed somthing up with their pathing and it’s made minion master unplayable. I’m looking for an alternate build while I wait for a fix. I adore my minions and I am a master of minions to the end, but to avoid me wanting to take a break and instead keep playing I need a temp build
All of my gear is PVT i’m in almost full ascended, if anyone has a relatively strong PVT build you would make my playing time leaps and bounds easier.
To add some extreme clarity here the bug in question occurs when the melee minions ((Or in rare cases when the ranged minions are out of range)) fail to find pathing to the target, every few seconds you will notice them jerk as they try to get to their target, but instead simply stand there. This can happen to the range minions as well, instead of getting in range to use their attacks they too will stand there and jerk if far enough from the mob.
A second bug I found was random minion agro on summon when you warp into an area. This bug can be reproduced 100% of the time as long as you JUST warped into the are, simply walk up to a neutral creep and spawn bone minions they will instantly go for the thing throat.
Come on Anet, this pathing thing is a very recent bug, just flip the integer to flopped to cause this and allow me to play my Minion Master in peace once more.

So i’m wondering why the gas mask does not protect us from the Miasma, you know the gas mask we snagged during the nightmare tower event?

Wow the amount of whine on this thread is insane, it’s actually baffling.
God forbid they pump out a bugged update and instead everyone runs to the forums complaining about it being bugged.
Give them a freaking chance to make sure the update is running properly, programming isn’t a walk in the park by the way…
It seems bone minions are busted as well, if you summon them fresh after warping into an area they will bum-rush any mobs nearby, easiest to test on neutral mobs. I’ve reproduced this in world consistently.

personally not looking forward to waves of invisible enemies with aoe control effects and terrible lag/constant disconnects again, but hey at least it will rain precursors like candy for those able to do the event.
Uh lets see. Scarlet already knows how portal tech works. Shut off the portals. An island? Scarlet has airships. And as we can see in the current living story inside the edge of the mists there is an Aeathblade presence there.

It’s posts like this that made me happy I voted for Kiel, if Evon had won we would have had a competent person in office who would’ve had defenses! Why have that when you could have the chaos an unprepared Kiel causes?
The entire console was against defenses we learned this in the recent living story. I doubt Evon would have had any more sway then Keil.
Lore wise I believe it was due to Granth we are able to rez undead without bringing the god of deaths wrath on us, the rule being we have to raise amalgamations and not straight corpses, but my lore may be off. I for one would kill (snickers) for some traditional zombies, skeletons and wraiths, being a big d&d player. I would even dump a 1000 gems on the skins off the gem store.
My lore may need to be checked by someone more knowledageable but since granth is no longer with us zombies and skeles should be doable. Perhaps zombies and skeles come in as different spells, like mesmers illusions sort of a combat summon that crumple to dust after combat.

EXTREME SPOILERS!!!
Beyond this point are direct spoilers to the current living story.
So I just finished the piecing the story segment in the living story and some very interesting information popped up.
What we learned was Omadd’s machine doesn’t actually let you see into a far off place but it directly lowers the security barriers in one’s mind. Scarlet stepped in and saw something, she came out crazy. Vorpp directly mentioned it was something in her own mind that set her off, something that had been walled off, then lowered by Omadd’s machine.
So this brings up and interesting theory. Perhaps, the Sylvari themselves are liberated dragon minions.
We know beings can break away from dragon corruption. Glint did this with Kralky.
We also know that dragon minions cannot corrupt other dragon minions. To this day Zhiatan, Jormag and Klalk have yet to corrupt a Sylvari, it’s even mentioned that Sylvari are immune to Zhitan’s corruption.
The Sylvari themselves sprang up just as the dragon’s began to spring up. People first theorized this was a countermeasure to the dragons.
So, what if the pale tree as an entity broke away from Mordremeth, then in a bid to fight back began to spawn the Sylvari. This leads us, interestingly enough to the nightmare court, who seem to be corrupted Sylvari in tune with somthing called “The Nightmare” So I am under the assumption that The Nightmare court are under Mordremoths control.
I’d love to hear other peoples thoughts on this, anything to disprove or prove it, or if you just wanna call me a moron!
I don’t mind it, it definitely feels forced like the story team is shouting “Look at us, look how super progressive we are!”
Unfortunately this will NOT get revised the mass outcry of people demanding refunds because they bought it expecting the sprockets would be insane.
Hopefully Anet chalks this up to a fluke and doesn’t do it again.
One of the best bossfights in this game so far, challenging, very interesting mechanics and tons of loot at the end, i’m quit pleased with how Anet set this one up. The worms suck unfortunately… I think the marionette needs to stay around instead of the worms XD
Bravo Anet, that was some grade A character development and voice acting I was excited to see Destiny’s Edge 2.0 showing up for more then just a bit of combat.

It was interesting seeing Brahms affection for Rox, the community was teasing around with this for a bit but it kitten near jumped out in our faces with their little fight. Having been with the living story from the beginning even I was a bit agitated when she mentioned joining Stone Band. It instilled a nice, emotional response from me I wasn’t expecting
Speaking of emotional responses. I hope I wasn’t the only one who got teary-eyed when Kasmeer recounted her story. At first I was dejected from it, but you tripped switches and flicked levers, then drove right into my heart. I wanted to give her all 137 gold pieces I had right there. And buy her a new teddy. The Majory comes in and comforts her perfectly, honestly the was awesome.
Now, to one of my new favorite characters. Taimi. I have no idea where she came from, noticed her pop up when I fought the marionette in lane 1. Honeslty I thought she was a stand-in character to fill out the lanes. (I had alrready seen Rox, Brahm, Majory and Kasmeer.) I had been curious then, Wiki’ed up on her found little to know info and shrugged it off. I honestly wish I had done the story instance first, she’s hilarious and a little smart kitten. It was a delight finally “meeting” Her.
Now onto my issues.
First Rytlok and especially Logan’s presence felt extremely forced. They felt like they didn’t need to be there and they where there to simply relate to players, perhaps just coming into the living story.
Second Taimi… This may be her first character introduction, or I may have missed her a while back but i’m honestly interested in this character. I want to know where she came from, what her motives are, we got a peak at it when she was speaking with Logan and Majory but she seemed to pop up far to fast with very little warning, it felt a tad sloppy. Of course her dialog and seemingly control over the situation she was in earned a spot in my fav characters.
Last, this is a little one. But I disliked how they all seemed “Herded” into the same place. I wouldn’t have minded a bit of wandering for each characters isolated scenes. It’s not a big deal as the rest was presented amazingly.
All in all 8/10 Twas some character dev guys, keep up the good work.
Because, during the scarlet invasion event arenanet learned full well what passing out loot does to people during these mini events. The event barely ever got completed because people would farm the champs and never clear and area.
On top of that, anyone trying to complete the event took so much spite and vitrol from the farmers in chat that it really hurt everyone as a whole. So because of the farmers we can’t have nice things.
It’s an extremely lack luster patch to say the least.
Personally I think it’s from her rich Old Uncle Red who played the stock market. He was her first victim she forged a will and arranged an “accident” involving a starving herd of dolyaks when he was out on his Sunday Quaggan hunt.
Either that or it’s a glaring hole they haven’t explained yet.

Seriously, where in the hell is scarlet getting the cash for all of this evil she’s spreading around. Aether ships, giant marionette platform, underground base, all the weapons for her soldiers, flame and frost factory… Like seriously does she have a bag of holding or some kitten?

Tempted to buy it JUST for the nodes in my home instance, I have little care over what they give, just that I want to load up my home instance with as much stuff as I can. I already have the quartz node, krait obelisk and candy corn node.
So for an obsessive collector like myself do you think it’s worth it. it would take a dip into my 140 some gold reserve.
Not a bad build in the least, thought I am slightly biased towards 20/0/30/20/0/
It makes your minions a serious threat to zerg down, forcing enemies to cherry-pick the ones they want dead and take the nova’s or zerg and get blown up.
I’m also partial to PVT instead of PPC but it’s pure preference.
Oh, note the 5% damage sigils DO NOT stack with one another, so put one on each weapon-set swap and fill the other’s with somthing else. Bloodlust is really nice if you can keep yourself up. In SPVP each kill gives 5 bloodlust stacks instead of 1

MM is very strong 1v1 but in a group fight they can be zerged down pretty easily. I see alot of people simply use a one track strat on me without identifying exactly what my build is, which can be done with one minion kill.
If you see a poison cloud go up focus ME down my minions are NOT absorbing conditions and I can be crushed pretty easily. If you see no poison cloud pile the minions as they are sucking up conditions for me.
I rarely see anyone attack my blood fiend, which is basicly my constant source of healing. Yes siphons come into play but with enough focused damage after my blood fiend goes down i’m paper.
I rarely see anyone avoid my bone minions which are the burst in my build. Flesh golem, shadow fiend and bone minions can all be kited. Blood fiend and Bone fiend’s damage are pitiful compared to my heavy hitters… But time and time again I see people run up and hump my leg trying to beat out my attrition build.
Dodge my two roots, save a stun break for fleshies charge and other then a couple of paltry fears I have no other CC.
I’m starting to think people are so used to fighting the Conditionmancers with how squishy they are they forget that Anet designed us as per their words as “An attrition class”

Seems lots of players like kitten but only minionmancer likes to take 5 monster kittens at same time. Horrible build, who would want game to play the game for you.
Its fine if you have a dislike of minions for whatever reason, plenty of people do (its a unique playstyle that isn’t for everyone). But stop pretending like any MM that relies on the passive qualities of the minions isn’t just a free kill.
It is free kill no matter on what you rely, crap build overall that has no place in PVP beside for annoying me by filling my display with useless AI minions.
If people want to play easy spec that only can deliver some lulz in certain situations then play powermancer and spam 1, its imo even more effective and will annoy enemies/teammates alot less.
Not sure about you, but a good MM does quite well in PVP with a very nice toolbox, great weapon synergy and plenty of damage. The fact of the matter is, I consistently walk out of matches with a great deal of kills, bring massive AoE poison, weakness and damage to any teamfight I and my team walk into, carry a charge for stopping stomps, an on call immobile which stacks with dagger 3 and again a large amount of damage and poison harass.

Too explain WHY we don’t have a full set yet. The devs have strict time constraints and a very tight content schedule. They need this done by the next LS then INSTANTLY they are going to have to work on the next set. This includes your artists. Give them time i’m sure we’ll see alot of god armor as the devs get the alloted free time to make it by the higher ups.
Also, both our channels in death shroud can STILL hit the theif even if he’s in stealth, there will be no visual but you ARE hitting him, i’ve landed hundreds of kills like this, even more so on a berserker build.
Ah Evon, always looking after Lion’s Arch. As is expected from a Hero like him.
Only because that’s where all his money is.
