Those other 4 party members don’t decide which build works best for me. If I perform well with the build I use then there shouldn’t be a problem at all.
because I will have to make up for your bad gear.
Because every build you don’t agree with is automatically a ‘bad build’ am I right?
The only thing I agree on is the use of magic find, because that doesn’t contribute anything to the party and is indeed selfish.
(edited by Windu The Forbidden One.6045)
Because builds don’t equal skill. And in PVe, even if my build isn’t a “standard” build, it works quite well for me.
In Guild Wars 1, people used to ask me to ping my build, after which they wouldn’t accept me in their groups. So I’d go solo the content with heroes, come back and wave at them, trying to build their group.
A lot more people out there think they have a clue than actually have one.
^So much this
This video shows it all.
Because people will use it to demand you have the right build, which is stupid. We should be able to use whatever build we want. Being able to turn it off doesn’t help either because they will simply require you to turn it on.
Are you kidding me? Human T3 cultural armors are amazing.
Would be nice if:
-You can toggle it in the Options
-We have access to more townclothes
Would be great but I doubt it will happen. Anet is making a killing with those things since we need them so much and you can only buy them in the gemstore (or in black lion chests but the chance is very small).
If you are running a condition build you can have a hard time destroying lifeless objects (weapon racks, barrels etc).
We all know that a ‘blind barrel’ or a ‘bleeding weapon rack’ would be ridiculous. But what if lifeless objects got their own conditions? I propose that lifeless objects get their own unique conditions.
For example:
Rot – The equivalent of poison, does damage over time.
Metal Fatigue – The equivalent of Vulnerability.
Rust – Substitute for bleeding, does damage over time.
I realize this may not be a high priority issue, but it would still be nice to have.

If you’re not legendary enough to take the keeps you need in wvw for map completion you’re not legendary enough to own a legendary.
next thread.
1) thinks getting the completion in WvW depends on the player alone, as if we can take castles and towers on our own no matter how terrible our server is doing.
2) automatically assumes it’s for a legendary.
Next comment.
Couldn’t agree more. When that thing appeared on the tradepost I checked the calendar, because I could have sworn it was April 1th..
Raise the level cap to 5000. All end-game complaints will disappear!
Yeah, right. Someone will rush though and hit it in a week and then whine about there being no endgame/raids/special gear/supadupa stats.
No! Again a ‘I can’t defeat this profession so it should be nerfed QQ’ thread..
So all mesmer players should be screwed because you have trouble defeating one?
The outmanned buff is the biggest joke in the game.
+20% Magic find Your server is still getting owned, but at least you have a bigger chance for nice items (if only a minor chance)
+33% Experience Your server is still getting owned, but at least you get more XP
+10% World Experience Pretty much the same as above
Take no Armor damage on death You still keep dying, but at least it’s cheaper.
None of these help out in combat, which is exactly what you need when you’re outmanned and outgunned. The only buff that’s slightly useful is the last one.
As long as we have more ways to obtain it, not just in fractals.
I hope they do. I think it would be a nice dynamic to the game for people have to go get the right gear to do open world stuff as well. You don’t have to do fractals you can also collect laurels to obtain that gear. I like the idea of it.
No it’s terrible. It would force people to grind ascended gear and agony resistance.
I talked to a Living Story npc in Wayfarer Foothills, she said something along the lines of:
“Seems the Molten Alliance doesn’t even know they lost already, it will soon sink in though.”
Not literally what she said but it comes down to the same thing.
So apparently, most of the Molten Alliance is unaware of the fact we destroyed their HQ (for now) and keep on fighting. The Molten Alliance forces we see now are mostly just remnants who don’t realize they are fighting for a lost cause.
I’m very happy they are buyable. I rather farm money then those stupid gifts.
I should be able to buy one if I want to, can’t believe some people keep complaining about that. You should be able to achieve your goals YOUR way, not be tied to one specific farming routine.
Also about the name ‘legendary’.. It’s just a name ok!? There is nothing legendary about them.

I guess guild value means required fees.
Funnily enough, the people in mine random buy influence all the time without being forced into it. How uncouth.
You don’t buy loyalty by taxing people in a video game to further your own riches
EDIT:
To be clear, I’m using you as an example of my words. Your people are so loyal you don’t need taxes for them to spend their money on their beloved guild. Taxes is not the way to go
^This, our guild gets more than enough donations. Forcing people with taxes is a terrible idea.
What should happen is a guild can introduce a tax and a percent of the gold you loot actually goes to the guild bank.
What the hell….
Congratulations, this is one of the most ridiculous suggestions I’ve ever seen, second only to the ‘insta lvl 80 suggestion’.
Clearly none of you have played a game with actual guild value in it.
Evidently, we do.

……………………………No
Tell me about it, I have 228 of those things now…
I’m so glad Anet dropped the Mana + cooldown system, I always hated it. Either pick cooldown or mana, not both.
Thank you ArenaNet.
For those that have one you know who you are
Well thanks for insulting me and every other player who has a human warrior…
I’m sorry but since your review is too biased and you insult the community on numerous occasions, I can’t take this review seriously. No offense, I’m sure you did your best.

I’ve added you, I got 3 asuras you can hang out with ^^
I can help you level if you want, most of the time I’m just wandering around exploring the world anyway. I’m also dutch, in desolation and play almost every day so
Hi, I’m Ceera Lux (Or at least that’s the name of my thief). I was surprised to find a topic called ‘Respect to Ceera Lux’ ^^
It’s spelled Shiro Tagachi, not Tegachii.
Looks pretty.
The villain from Factions is indeed called Tagachi but this character is called Tegachii. Probably to avoid name change or because the name was taken already.
I agree.
It’s a terrible idea because the player’s success gets predicated on something they can’t control. In some servers it’s literally impossible to get world completion due to the WvW requirement.
In before “It’s called world completion for a reason” (a flawed argument I keep hearing):
WvW is not part of the world, it’s in the mists.
I have a guardian and I love my sword. I can understand not everyone likes it, but the 1h sword is far from useless.
There’s no conspiracy theories to be had. Anet announced flat out that they plan to do level increases. Everyone keeps trying to pretend like that won’t happen, like it will somehow magically go away.
Level increase WILL come. It’s a question of when more than if. Sure, ascended gear is the last tier of gear for now… but be prepared to start from scratch getting that gear again when the expansion comes out :-P
Old news is old.
Doesn’t mean anything. Anet said many things that never made it into the game.
Remember when they said dyes would be account wide?
I’m not saying it will never happen, but it’s not confirmed and there is no way to be sure. And I hope it will never happen because then I can throw all my gear away and start over..
No? Why? What would it hurt? There’s plenty of space for it, and it would be a super-easy update to program.
And apparently they are NOT “pretty obvious and easy to learn” for everybody, or I wouldn’t have gone to all the trouble of posting.
Toughness and Agony Resistance are Identical. There are several “Crossed Swords” icons (plus a single sword for “Power”. I would’ve thought a FIST for Power). Several “Target” icons. Etcetera. NOT obvious to me, no sir!
I said ‘no’ as in ‘not only hardcore players know them by heart’
Not as in ‘I disagree with your suggestion itself’
Only the hardcore stat-tweakers will ever learn all those little mysterious symbols by heart.
No. The symbols are pretty obvious and easy to learn.
What? Of course asura are more technologically advanced.
They have golems, asura gates, a floating city, giant laser cannons, energy reactors and even force fields.
The banners should float off as the player moves not be lookin like this
http://askwhy.co.uk/dinosauroids/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/dimetrodon6-300x269.jpg
That right there was the first thing that came to mind when I first saw those back banners.
I’m not interested in commendations
Well, I don’t care about Badges of Honor (e.g. WvW).
And wasn’t in arenanet manifesto a thing like “you can achieve things in the way you like doing it”?
I agree a lot more items should be obtainable in a lot more ways. Guild Wars 2 has so many forms of currency, al used for different types of items so “you can achieve things in the way you like doing it” is just, sadly, not true.
(edited by Windu The Forbidden One.6045)
They should also rotate them 90°. If you know what I mean.
When someone told me they added back banners I was like: “OMFG Seriously? kitten yes!”
Then I saw them lol..
I was trying to convince a friend of mine for months, then the free trial weekend came along. He’s been playing the game ever since.
If you can’t (or don’t know how) to convince your friend, wait until another trial comes around and invite them.
While I admit the aegis icon ruins a lot of shields and should be changed, it definitely has a purpose.
In PvP/WvW it shows players when their opponent has aegis on them, if they can’t see aegis they might waste a valuable attack/skill.
Possible fixes:
-Make Aegis invisible in PvE. (though the problem will still persist in pvp so this may
not be the best solution out there)
-Toggle ‘Hide Aegis on self’ (this feature would make aegis invisible for you alone,
other people can still see it so balance is not affected)
-Alternate means of detecting aegis on enemy players in pvp (though I can’t think of
any right now)
(edited by Windu The Forbidden One.6045)
Maybe this item is in the database but never used, a cancelled weapon category maybe?
We’ve been down this slippery slope in Gw1 before, and it didn’t work out too well back then. Players tend to equate the flavor-of-the-month to skill, which of course isn’t the case.
Recently I was in a group where a fellow necromancer was highly critical of my custom toughness-focused build, to which his condition-mancer build (fresh off the internet) was clearly superior. Not that I was performing badly mind you. It was simply him bragging about his DPS. Rarely have I seen a fellow necromancer die that often during a run. But this is the sort of mentality that gear-inspection would encourage.
People have to get it out of their heads that they can judge a player’s skill or effectiveness, by their gear. It simply isn’t so. And I realize magic find is a big frustration to many players, but there are other solutions to that.
^This!
For some reason people think that a strong build equals skill.
They will simply say: Enable inspecting or leave.
So what?
1. not all teams would ask this.
2. their choice to team with you or not.
3. your choice to team with them or not.
4. only 4 others in a team. If these 4 won’t team with you, is that the end of the world? There are no other pugs left? You’re ego / self esteem is that badly damaged already? You’re the only casual gamer in GW2?sigh.. so many ninja leechers out there
Never, because WE, the player, can decide wether other players can inspect OUR stuff. If they want to see what I’m wearing, they can ask. Also offending people who do not agree with you is not the best way to promote your idea.
RNG isn’t broken, it’s just a stupid system.
Here’s my mesmer if you’d like to draw it, your art looks amazing.
With savant helmet is preferable, but only hair is fine too
PS. the weapons I use are Emberspire , peacemaker sword and glyphic brand

Oh wow, seems that bug still isn’t fixed. I first encountered this problem 2 weeks ago, the hom calculator has been messed up ever since.
Actually, I don’t get what the OP wants. The game is currently split into PvE/WvW and PvP, post patch it will be split into PvE and WvW and PvP. Also it’s contradictory in itself.
He wants each part of the game to be balanced for itself, so changes to professions in PvP don’t affect those in PvE or WvW if I’m reading it right.
Which is what this game desperately needs
You might have missed it, but they are starting to split skills between PvE-WvW-PvP with todays update.
Honestly cant wait. To the OP i think both pve and pvp hold each other back….unless they are seperated.
Agreed. A lot of skills/builds that work in PvE simply don’t work (or are Overpowered) in PvP, and vice versa. Skills/traits should be seperated because as long pvp and pve share skills/traits we will never have balance.
Its not that i am lazy it because i have a life and i want to be able to do stuff without having to level to that level, if i like a class and i am willing to pay i don’t see why its not possible
So everyone who does not agree with you and actually ‘plays’ the game doesn’t have a life?
Yeah.. I think we’re done here.
While it may be logical to assume changes, it is not logical to assume that the entire playstyle of a class will be altered several months after release.
Some of the changes, and specifically the heavy handed nerfs to Eles are akin to changing the way chess pieces are allowed to move mid game. The Knight no longer moves in an L shape, and the Castle can only move 5 spaces.
Given that top end exotic gear is required to be competitive, that it is quite expensive especially for new players without a thousand hours of playtime, that ANet continues to release new currencies and is establishing a gear treadmill (contrary to everything they’ve said), and all the other shenanigans ANet seems to be pulling, it is not wrong for players to be angry.
ESPECIALLY since ANet’s business model revolves around inevitable cash transactions for gems, which allows gearing through BLTC gold buying, they’re actually ethically wrong to alter classes to the point of unplayability or at least making them much more difficult. The reason being, if a player spends money to gear a character, ANet then makes that character undesirable, forcing said player to roll a new character, and then spend more real money to gear up.
Its a bad precedent both business wise and gameplay wise.
Okay, let’s all pick really garbage builds and gear around them. That way, since our build is awful and doesn’t synergize with anything, it won’t get nerfed!
^So much this.
In GW1 I always picked the build of the month because.. why shouldn’t I?
If I can choose between a weak and powerful build why should I go for the weak one? The only reason I didn’t do that in GW2 is the same reason I made this thread, builds are expensive and, unlike gw1, can’t just be changed on a whim.
