Fort Aspenwood
I’m excited to start working, I can’t wait to work with The Gates Assassin.9827!
Thank you for the opportunity Gaile!! <3
I really wish they would re-add this map….
even if they took the deep water out and made it all shallow…
maybe move the point to the ship >.< …
i just miss the beach scene
I personally welcome this game mode and any different game modes that do not require the 2/3 point philosophy. It’s nice to be able to play different game modes and not feel like a mindless robot for hours
One of the things I enjoy about PvP with other games (Halo, CoD, WoW, GW1, etc) Is that I can kill players while focusing on different objectives every time. CTF, Deathmatch, Team Death Match, Infected, Fort Aspenwood, Jade Quarry, Griffball, Select weapons only, Invasion, etc.
Why should GW2 be stuck with Conquest only?
Two things that can be done to address that:
1) Let us play in custom arena while waiting for a queue to pop. We could duel, or fight in 2v2v or 3v3 while waiting for our conquest/stronghold match
2) I hope the new WvW borderlands and improvements to WvW will make it so that killing players is not the struggle it is now. These bloody guard stacks, ascended armors and above all this immense plain maps make it impossible to kill a player if he wants to run away. The description of the new maps mention choke-points, which could hopefully be great ambush locations.
I don’t see how point one or two have to do with anything quoted o_o i’m not sure if you quoted the wrong person or not :P
I find this very hard to believe. Since around Monday, most of my queue times have been over 4 minutes and as of yesterday my queue times have shot up even further to 5-8 minutes.
Ranked or Unranked?
I’ve noticed a lot of people prefer to play unranked since it does not have the negative attitude that some ranked games tend to have.

I don’t think a leave button would be a great idea….
Aside from the 5v4’s mentioned above, I do not think there
should be any temptations to do anything dishonorable.
The voting system is in place, there’s even a random element
that CAN allow for a map with even 1 vote to be chosen.
If you really despise that map and you want a 0% chance of
playing said map, you should consider playing Practice or Ranked.
If that is not an option for you, you should consider joining an unranked
match with a full team to increase your chances of getting a map you
want to play.
Rangers really do not need a nerf….
It’s extremely easy to counter with any class.
Every class has a couple of counters for Long Bow.
The best strategy, no matter what class you play is to
get rid of the vulnerability. I can’t tell you how many
newbie players I see that allow those 10-15 stacks to
sit on them throughout the whole fight…
If you cleanse the vulnerability as soon as you see it
pop up on your bar, you should be capable of shutting
the ranger down with little to no problems.
The vulnerability stacks add up as Rapid Fire
is being used. It’s not a 1 shot = 10-15 stacks.
With that in mind, keep an eye on your bar
and when you see it reaching a high number
of stacks, cleanse it. At that point, the damage
you take will be reduced since there will be no
vulnerability

Thank you for everyones help and suggestions. I have decided on FA!!
Welcome to the family!!!!
if you’re looking for a PvX adult oriented guild feel free to hit me up
This probably does not fulfill most of your needs but I’ll just toss this out here.
The Forgotten Soldier [TFS]
We have been around under that name for a year and longer under another name.
We have a lot of:
Bi
Gay
Lesbian
Trans
We are an adult oriented guild (17-40)
We have our own TS3 (we don’t bum off someone else)
We are PVX, we have a couple of Dragons in PvP, almost always have 2-3 people in pvp.
We are based out of Fort Aspenwood, and are very proud of our server.
Our only real rule is 70-75% rep, we want to be a primary guild.
If it sounds like something you may be interested in just hit me up in game.
Wolfey.3407
This sounds amazing LOL
Would this allow rangers to progress into Rambos?
Can we have PvP Tags like WvW commander tags for people currently in the Queue for rank/unrank tournaments?
Also, because you do not allow us to PvE or Hotjoin while waiting over 5+ minutes for a match. I suggest all PvP Tagged players in queue should be allowed to free-for-all brawl in the mist! I know drawing heartwands, dancing, gossiping and stuff in mapchat is fun, but pewpewing others ready for PvP is more. At least you know we’re not AFK?
If not, maybe i’ll just continue to troll skyhammer cuz it’s so entertaining.
With the tag idea, do you mean something like an hour glass over peoples heads? just an indicator of sorts so you don’t invite a player who is waiting in queue?
(edited by Wolfey.3407)
WTB report option for leavers/afkers….i don’t understand why it is still not in game?
Person feeds enemy half match, rages and leaves match and doesn’t get punished in any way for ruining match for other players. Why is it ok?
It does seem like a good idea;however, can you clarify a couple of points?
-“Feeds Enemy Half Match”
Do you mean they are purposely running out and dying or that they are just
unskilled players?
-Are you talking about Unranked /Ranked matches or Practices?
The Idea is good, but my main concern is this:
Player 1 (lets call him Billy) has not played the game in a while (3-4 months) let’s say that Billy decides to play unranked arena. Billy does not know any better and believes his build that he was playing before is still viable. After two minutes of play, Billy gets killed over and over again. Billy is legitimately trying to win but he just can’t stay alive long enough.
Under the purposed idea of reporting for feeding, does Billy get reported and punished? If so, what type of punishment is suitable so that Billy will be able to continue to play PvP?
The main reason I bring this up, is that with an expansion coming up, you may have returning players who do not know that their builds may be behind the curve.
I would mail anet my credit card if they made dinosaurs pets ^-^!!!

This…. just how …. we won by a nice margin … just why lol….
160 slots here, I don’t really have that type of problem… however, I am a little more fortunate than most in terms of legendaries so I don’t have 4 of every weapon I have to carry…
I think an Idea ANET should consider to remedy some of this should be:
-New Hero Equipment Pannel Category
:Toy Box
~Works like finishers, Everlasting unlocks it permanently for use, non-everlasting only give 1 charge.
-New Hero Equipment Pannel Category
:Tonics
~Works like finishers, Everlasting unlocks it permanently for use, non-everlasting only give 1 charge.
-New World vs World Catagory
: Siege
~Works like finishers, each siege added will give 1 charge, you will activate siege from this panel as well.
Besides that, the rest is just inventory management…
If you’re constantly running our of bag space you may want to consider creating a personal guild to move some of your materials too. As well, as any precious items
that you have no desire to use any time soon.
It’s not really over powered… It’s like LB Ranger… Just have to learn how to counter it. Once you’ve figured it out it’s rather entertaining to fight against. If you are not willing to adjust and change your build, then yes it is over powered just like LB Ranger is.
I think Palador summarized it best though o.O
If you’re looking for social acceptance, you would probably be better off with Thief….
There is still a giant stigma about Engineers and Rangers when it comes to Dungeons and Fractals. If you’re looking to play by yourself most of the time, I would suggest Ranger as you do have a Pet to help tank for you. Granted, the pet is rather clunky on terms of mechanics but it is a lot better then it use to be.
PvP wise, It really comes down how you like to play
If you like to bunk but still do decent damage, you will be better off with Engineer.
If you like to snipe and skirmish you will be better of with a Ranger.
WvW wise you’re in a similar circumstance,
If you like to zerg, you would be better off with Engineer with Kits.
If you like to roam and take camps/sentrys/mercenaries you will be better off as a Ranger.
They both have their pros and cons and both are a ton of fun.
I would personally do what a couple others have suggested and try playing them both
As a ranger,
I can’t stand Engineers…. PvP/ WvW doesn’t matter…. fee fi foo fum boy do I hate engineers….. Especially the bunker/debunk variations….
Why u dont make some punishment or ban for some hours,to people that afk during event?.
Is it easy:
afk 1min = kicked from map 1st time
afk 1 min = ban 1h 2nd time
afk 1 min = ban 1 day 3rd time.
Slippery Slope with no breaks
What’s next?
Can’t idle in Queensdale?
Can’t Idle in Southsun cove?
Can’t idle in Lions Arch during holliday events?
Also why one minute? little fkd up don’t you think?
Instead of preventing people from playing those maps why not punish their loot at max? every 10 minutes of no moving = NEGATIVE 50% MF. The buff will only go away after participating in 3 events or by remapping.
“Ventari fled south, to the Tarnished Coast, where he befriended a human named Ronan, with whom he planted the Pale Tree and founded the sanctuary of peace for all races seeking it that would eventually become the Grove. Along with Ronan, and after the human’s death, he raised and nurtured the tree.
He died in 1180 AE, having written down his life experiences on an artifact that would later be known as the Ventari Tablet and placed it at the foot of the Pale Tree. 25 years ago, the firstborn of the sylvari sprouted forth from the tree and the race now holds his views in high regard.”
Did Ronan and Ventari know what they were doing?
Did they have any idea what the pale tree was going to become?
Did they have any knowledge of the Sylvari Mordremoth connection?
If so, what was their objective? to force a joint peace between Humans and Centaurs by joining force in battle? If there is no connection, would this be one of the greatest ironies story wise? A grove of peace being the birth place of destruction and death.
What are you thoughts on Ventari and Ronan on this issue?
This is an awesome and amazing server. I have been part of F.A. since Head Start and I have never left it ^-^. In fact, the guild I have taken over, I had all the members relocate to F.A. and all the other guilds have welcomed my members warmly and aided us by helping us rebuild our influence as well as help pay for a couple of our members to relocate.
We are not under dogs, we are under wolves! You will not find another server as vicious or as organized as we are when we have our backs against the wall. We have proved it in season 1 of WvW and we will prove it again!
It is a nice suggestion however it will definitely create a reason for alot of drama in different threads. People will start bashing eachother based on achievements in-game and the forum community will be divided into, at least, a vet club and a newbie club.
A valid point; however, you have that issue as it is. It’s mostly in the content of peoples posts and their lack of knowledge on a certain subject.
An Example I can give is based on a complain a player had about the wintersday series one minis (toly soldier etc) being gem store only. If that player was not a newbie, (s)he would know that those minis were craft-able as well in Wintersday I & Wintersday II
Wouldn’t last log in follow the same issue of pvp rank?
“I quit 6 months ago and hate this game people,”
“i quit playing pvp 6 months ago and hate pvp”By that I mean, there are a several posters I have seen here that often post how they hate the game and quit X amount of months ago. They keep making that a point whenever they posted about a certain issue. Out of curiosity I followed a few of them only to see them online almost every time I am in game. For some reason they try to give their posts more weight by saying they quit when they really did not. It would instill some measure of honesty in forum posters in regards to their current experience with the game. Also, like my other example, if Bob.1234 posts, “This current living story, update, whatever, is terrible” but you see they have not logged since the update it would make it easier to see they are just bashing without having actually experienced it themselves.
I don’t see where that would equate to PvP rank necessarily given what I described.
Valid point, going off of the PvP example,
If Billy.6666 is talking trash and giving bad pvp advice but hes a bunny then you can sort of see whats going on…If he claimed he quit the game 6 months ago or quit pvp 6 months ago then you have validation to prove that bill is just being a troll. (If you pvp even a little bit you wouldn’t be a bunny after a year and a half of the game being out, even under the old rank system) This would fall under the same thing with: Deer, Dolyak and Wolf. For the most part, if he pvpd a lot before quitting the game or pvp 6 months ago, he should have had his rank auto-adjusted to Phoenix or Dragon. Which will give his complaints a little more validation since he played the game mode but will reduce his complain a little since he has not pvpd in a while which in conjunction with your suggestion of a last login date will prove that Billy.6666 if he is a dragon is complaining for the sake of complaining.
Aside from road blocks relating to anets technical issues, what is your general opinion on the suggestion?
I tend to disagree. A forum avatar is one thing. I don’t think people should be judged on the forum based on achievement points and other criteria. While I can see your intention where in it would be nice to know if Bob.1234 giving you advice on PvP has a decent PvP track record, I don’t find it necessary. Much like achievement points, there are a lot of people that don’t have a ton of achievement points but they do know a lot about the game and often give great advice/feedback. They just play less but also follow the game closely and are very knowledgeable. I think anytime you get into accomplishment measuring contests in a forum it will just lead to more toxicity.
…………………
…………………If I were going to add one thing under a poster’s name it would be last login date. This would expose the, “I quit 6 months ago and hate this game people,” that actually still play and for those that are honest it would show this as well. Do you want to take the opinion on the current living story episode from someone that hasn’t logged in for 3 months seriously? That makes more sense to me.
Wouldn’t last log in follow the same issue of pvp rank?
“I quit 6 months ago and hate this game people,”
“i quit playing pvp 6 months ago and hate pvp”
I’d have no problem with this except for the random nature of avatar faces you’d get. I have 13 80’s and while Donari is often in my first slot, especially while I do a lot of Silverwastes with my time, he isn’t always. I think it might be somewhat confusing if you’re trying to pick out posts by a person via quick visual cues and every time you look they have a different face to the left of their post. Also, would the avatar have to be refreshed each time someone views the post, possibly changing it to a more recently played alt, or would it be “set” at the time of the posting? You use ranks as an example, what if someone posted something cogent 4 months ago, that still gets referenced; they are now a high rank, but weren’t at the time. So people go to look at the linked post and say “that guy has no standing, I won’t heed this post.”
Just pointing out some possible flaws. I’m all for something to jazz up posts and make it faster to scan down to the next one in the thread by someone who interests you.
edit: Now others have posted other flaws that I see as real concerns. I was just focusing on the pretty picture part, mostly
It would be like LDAP if you’ve ever used that system.
It will automatically update the information on all of your posts upon
accessing that page.
I don’t think it would be a good idea.
It’s similar to the system many forums have where it shows the date you joined and your post count below your name. Yes it can be informative but it also tends to give certain individuals the impression that they can dismiss anything posted by anyone with a lower post count, even if they’re completely right or stating a valid opinion. Or even insult someone for daring to express an opinion when they’re “unqualified” to do so.
On a good forum it just gives the moderators a whole other category of problems to deal with. On a bad forum the mods encourage it and the situation gets worse.
Some valid points; however, nothing stops anyone from reading your past posts in your forum profile. For the most part, everyone knows who the main posters are within their perspective Sub forums .
(edited by Wolfey.3407)
They can’t even fix the search function and it seems they can’t even remove the broken search box from the forum for some reason. I don’t see the changes you suggested happening until and unless they go with new forum software.
Aside from road blocks relating to anets technical issues, what is your general opinion on the suggestion?
Here’s a rough draft I came up for a cosmetic update to the posts on the forums.
The picture will be selected based on the character you last played (1st slot on login)
The account medals are self explanatory
The Achievement Points are self explanatory
In terms of memory, It could be applied based on every post.
Whenever someone hits submit it does a quick query and grabs
the needed information from the server and applies the correct
information to the post.
This is just something I think will help improve the quality of the threads
by putting a characters face to each post as well as their qualifications.
Even though a lot of those things don’t mean much…. It would be better
to know that advice in PvP is coming from someone who’s a dragon then
a person who is a rabbit and may not have played any pvp games.
Opinions? Concerns?
make ascended armor, toss +5 on all pieces thats +30
make ascended weapons toss +5(x2) on one set = +10
+5 per ring
+5 per accessory
+5 on backpiece
+5 on amulet
thats +60 right there with out have to infuse
toss on the +10’s +12’s default +5s on infused and you should be able to hit 100 easily.
Could always introduce a dishonor system for LFG
If you leave a group before the dungeon/fractal is completed you are punished
Same exact formula as the pvp one
Sic’ Em is all you should need to combat a thief….
Unless they know what they are doing the following should be an easy win for you:
Sic ‘em -> Hunter’s Call -> Call of the wild -> rapid fire -> hunter’s shot -> stomp
or
Sic ‘em ->point blank shot -> Rapid Fire -> Hunter’s Shot -> Stomp
If you are having a trouble finishing them before sic em wears off, use barrage immediately as soon as they pop shadows refuge or another stealth skill.
p.s. same strategy works flawlessly against mesmers since you keep your target on them ^-^
This is something that a lot of people have been screaming about with shortbow prior to its nerf…. the damage has been done and we are forced to live with it….
I’d rather anet introduce more pets with more abilities then scrapping it.
A perma stow option would be nice, but as many pointed out… it won’t happen.
Hopefully we can get them to agree to add more pets with more abilities.
May want to fix your title… it says games instead of gems
I think its a bit dramatic to start the whole merger thing over falling down…
Servers come and go in gold/silver all the time…. like any Empire you have your time in the sun they you will get raided back down. As time goes on, you will slowly start to rebuild and climb your way back up the ladder.
Servers that have fluctuated a lot over the last year:
Kaineng
SoS
CD
HoD
Just recruit harder, have a come to jesus type of meeting with your commanders and guild leaders and start moving your base around.
I think this would remedy any excuse of “No other game modes please!!”
since you will have everything preset and ready to go ^-^ the only excuse would be that said player is too lazy to come up with other builds to accommodate other game modes.
I like this idea; however, I do not feel it should be a permanent thing….
I would rather see anet create other gambits for WvW and do 1 gambit every other week.
Like:
Week 1- No White Swords
Week 2- Normal WvW
Week 3- Capture time is halved
Week 4- Normal WvW
Week 5- Brutal Weather (like sand storm in drytop just different kinds like hail/rain)
Week 6- Normal WvW
Week 7- Keep/Tower/Castle Lords apply Agony = fotm lvl 10
Week 8 – Normal WvW
Gambits would not be applied during wvw tournaments
I gave up after 5k gifts opened and went to PvP
100% chance of obtaining one from the wintersday pvp track
Took me 2 1/2 days of very very casual play to get it
Do keep in mind though, Unlike the ghostly wolf mini, you do have a 2nd route of obtaining the item….
I’d rather anet:
(1) Add Shortbow to read the wind trait
(2) Adjust poison volley to be an Aoe similar to Barrage with a blast field bonus
Most of the Hate
(1) Players can only play builds given to them by -certain streamers- and they can’t be bothered to alter their build to counter a class. Therefore, If they can not counter a class with the build that those people gave them, the class must be op and broken.
(2) Most players just run bearbow in PvP which is a complete waste of time
(3) Some Ranger Elitist ruin the idea of anyone playing the class because they feel if you run LB or SB you are a complete waste of time, “YOU MUST RUN SWORD/DAGGER” “YOU MUST RUN SWORD/TORCH” “NO BOWS”
(4) When the game came out , Short Bow was to hard for the average WoW player to counter. So anet decided to nerf it so hard that it became almost impracticable to use in pvp now.
(5) Little after the game came out, almost all the botters would run bearbow. This lead to a dark period in our time to where everyone would report anyone that was a ranger. Even if their names didn’t follow the stereotypical affsjafiy format.
In the end, the hate for rangers is caused by bigotry of Warriors,Thieves, Bot Reporters, and your typical narrow minded minors who refuse to adapt and learn.
Merry Christmas to all and to all, get the heck off our n*** already
Did you actually die from falling damage or frost bite?
What was your HP roughly at before the damage happened
The only thing that really annoys me with this note….
Veteran players are stuck for a few weeks with nothing to do but re-re-play wintersday content with the added bonus of most likely not being able to unlock anything from season one, unless it’s stuck behind another lottery. And the possible chance of some super adorable mini being locked behind wintersday gifts at a drop rate equivalent to precursors with the added insult of not being able to be sold or traded to other players.
@Wolfey.3407
Again, there’s nothing in there that prevents an asura from learning dervish techniques from a human master, and then passing those teachings on to other asura, or norn, or sylvari, etc etc. Just because they have avatars means nothing. The human gods are clearly linked to the eternal alchemy anyway. It’s all part of one great thing. That’s the whole point of the living story so far; the eternal alchemy, the dragons, the gods, etc are all linked.
I played a dervish too and I played GW1 for 5 years. You don’t need to throw wiki copy/pasta at me, thanks.
Kk be right back, putting on a head dress and buying a bow, I’m going to be a Seminole Chief even though im white., but hey I live in Florida so I know what the seminole tribe is at least. I just made the same exact point that you just did, don’t you dare scream racism.
Are you suggesting that it’s impossible for a white person to learn about Native American culture? What does that have to do with guild wars 2?
Hmm? Are you so highly offended that I showed something from Guild Wars 1 that you missed the comparison completely?
I’ll break it down for you If you get confused let me know and I’ll put it in spanish or french for you ^-^
Dervish: HOLY WARRIOR Very Spiritual People.
They Believe in the HUMAN GODS their outfits are in dedication to the HUMAN GODS.
The Seminole tribes wardrobe is done on a spiritual level, each feather, bead, hide means something to them spiritually.
Just as it would be offensive for an Asura who does not believe in the human gods to wear a traditional HUMAN DERVISH OUTFIT, it would be offensive for me to wear Seminole Chiefs Outfit,
I don’t believe in their religion, I believe in a higher power which is all that we really have in common spiritually.
With your logic that other races can wear a Holy Classes Outfit because they have a common ground that they believe in a higher power (O WAIT CHARRS DONT BELIEVE IN GODS OR A HIGHER POWER BUT THEIR LEADERS) I digress, back on topic, with your logic that other races can wear and desecrate the principals and morals of a class based on a common conception, you are saying it is fully ok for me to dress as a Seminole Chief and partake in their rituals as their spiritual leader.
After all, I read a book by a Seminole chief which would be the same as your comparison of a human teaching an Asura or CHARR.
Go a step further, this will probably have you lost and confuse so try and catch up,
Lets say an atheist learns about Catholicism from a Priest, does that by virtue of him learning Catholicism from a priest give that atheist the right to dress up as a priest and preach Catholicism even though he doesn’t believe in their foundations?

Dervish won’t work for any race but humans.
If they retcon the lore that much to make it work I’m done.
The only thing that makes a Dervish a Dervish as far as lore goes, is they are in tune with the earth and air in a magical way. It’s just a form of elementalism mixed with holy magic. The same reason other races can be Rangers, Guardians or Elementalists lets them also be Dervish.

The Dervish’s attire is a testament to the dual nature of the Dervish as both priest and warrior. Followers of this profession wear a robe to show their faith in the divine, bracers to demonstrate their prowess in combat, and a hood to mark their humility before the gods. This garb provides limited armor, but the Dervish is shielded in battle by their agility and by the Enchantments that they cast upon themselves. These Enchantments make them resistant to injury, allow them to turn aside the attacks of their foes, and lend elemental power to their attacks.
Because the broad sweep of a swinging scythe can strike multiple foes at once, the Dervish seeks the very heart of a battle, calmly and intently casting spells on themselves even while surrounded by foes, then suddenly unleashing a flurry of devastating, whirling scythe attacks.
Among the Dervish’s most precious secrets is that of transformation. The Dervish, when roused, may channel divine powers and change their form temporarily to become the physical embodiment of a god.
There is no established church or school for Dervishes in Elona. Instead, a master passes down their secrets and philosophies to a single pupil at a time. Even after that pupil has set out into the world to follow their own path, it may be some years before a master takes a new pupil."
“A Dervish is a Sufi Muslim ascetic. A whirling dervish is a mystical dancer who stands between the material and cosmic worlds. The term has become a figure of speech used in reference to one who exhibits vigorous energy.”
If you’re into sports,
Would you rather watch the event for free? or pay to watch it later?
It’s a crab shoot if your team will do well, or get humiliated. Maybe you
will see something amazing, maybe you wont.
Example:
I can watch the Tampa Bay Lightning game for free when it comes on.
Or I can pay the $4.99 to watch the replay when I come home for my lunch break.
Just as I can go to the guild wars 2 wiki to see the results, I can go to nhl.com and see the results; however, I’m not actually experiencing the game or seeing everything play for play.
Would it be nice if it was free? sure. But the option to experience it later is worth while. The price I do believe should be lowered to something a little more manageable. 100 gems per episode? 16 gold 12 silver at the moment. Missed 4 months? $10 and you’re caught back up with everyone else or 128 gold [current price].
I’m all for an expansion w/ gemstore being a commodity shop
Don’t join 100% Rep requirement guilds or ‘elite’/hardcore guilds. Those can often be a bit abusive and expect to be front and center during your playtime.
Nothing wrong with 100% Rep Guilds or Hard Core Guilds….
From a new player perspective, I would suggest that you join a Priority Guild, one that requires 60%-100% Rep of your online time. That way you can learn the mechanics, learn how to interact with guildies and see the different aspects of a guild. Joining secondary guilds is something you should consider doing after you’ve become comfortable with the game and the community.
Example:
My Guild is a Priority guild; however, I’m also part of TTS, a sponsored PvP Guild.
My priorities are to my guild mates in my main guild; however, I’m comfortable enough to switch between guilds and not make my self look like a fool. The main problem I’m noticing is that new players join five guilds and never rep the other four.
From a Guild Leader Perspective, It’s hard to advertise and sell your guild to someone as an active friendly guild when out of 200 guildies, only 20 are online and out of that 20 only 5 are repping, out of the 5 that are repping, only 3 know how to type in guild chat.
Just as you don’t roll all 8 classes and try to figure out the game, you shouldn’t roll all 5 guilds and expect to optimize your experience.
I would suggest trying one guild at a time, try from one extreme to another. See which one you like, who knows? maybe the one that you think would be absolutely horrible may be the one that matches your play style.
I understand that Anet has issues with other games being mentioned here, so I am just going to refer to this other one as “SF2P” (successful Free to Play).
See, this particular SF2P managed to deliver a complete game with periodic events and new maps/levels for a time (although slower lately on those), and even new items into the game. Sure they offered the items and cosmetics in their store for purchase, but they also made those items attainable through gameplay, and not under some horrifyingly unjust RNG system. Some things were craftable and few other things available as exclusives for a a time. All in all it still has tons of people logging in a playing even after 6+ years. being F2P and having a store to sell vanity items or even other game assets isn’t the problem per se. Its Anet locking basic things behind a god awful grind OR using real money to buy your way past it with gems. THAT is the problem here. Add to that the “bolster our numbers of logins” by foricing players to log into get content for free or else you’re paying for it doesn’t endear people who are already irked about your business practices. just sayin.
I understand and agree with all with what you have to say except:
dd to that the “bolster our numbers of logins” by foricing players to log into get content for free or else you’re paying for it doesn’t endear people who are already irked about your business practices. just sayin.
I would argue, that this is a very nice and handy feature, way better than Season 1’s model of login and play now or forever be screwed. I have guildies who are in the military and enjoy the freedom that they can be out on operations for 1-2 weeks and be back later to catch it for free or pay a couple of gems if the episode was decent in their eyes to play it later.
Even casual players, I have a guildie who is struggling financially and does not have power or internet some times, when ever his parents are able to afford it, he is able to log in and play. It’s nice that he is given a chance that if he has $10-15 spare dollars from his part time job, that he can play the past content with out being penalized for missing it. In season 1 of Living Story, this was NOT an option and he would have missed those episodes and would not have the chance to play them.
At the end of the day, what matters is that NCSOFT is happy.
So far, they seem to be happy since they are not actively firing/ transferring
people from ANET to other projects. In fact, Anet is hiring more people than the other development teams under NCSOFT. So, they have to be doing something right to keep NCSOFT happy.
I own an ele and feel it pretty dark. lol
Eh :P
I have it listed under light mostly because of Water & Earth
Air is sort of in the middle. I guess you can sort of red-rover it to neutral o.O
Necro takes the cake though for dark
