Uhm, you realize that Anet has only been about condi damage since HoT dropped. They will ony ever buff it.

Go into wvw and tell me epidemic doesnt need to be nerfed and I’ll show you how to get pre drops every day.

Pfft they totally came up with a fix for it, blast light fields!

As a knight / tank class it should never have been given abilities like teleports, traps, and a bow.

That’s what happens when there isn’t a strict traditional guideline for a class like what happens in the trinity system(tank healer dps). You end up with classes being given access to things they shouldn’t traditional have, classes are given things to be frontline and backline. Eventually the elite specs will just dilute the skills to every class.

SoS and FA alike got hit badly by YB’s push to T1.

They didn’t exactly get “hit badly”.. they got stacked good too and it was a lot of fun for awhile. Too hard to keep groups fighting with the closed server system though. Eventually one side slowed down, one side snowballed… same thing you will always see in this system.

Don’t forget it was FA/SoS/DB.. With one server getting shafted each week with glicko/tiers. This will always happen until the fundamental system changes.

Hm most of the fight groups left when the stackening happened on YB, they reorganized and moved down to t3 for the new fight tier. Before that it was pretty much YB killing t2 by bringing siege to every corner of wvw, taking enemy keeps and holding it for days with 30 pieces of siege for defense, a very unfun time on SoS during that period.

Also Mal’s alliance (more than 3 of them) moved to YB and then moved off to TC when they were dumped to t2 (it was time to rotate!), when they made that move it triggered some TC guilds to move to DB for dragonwagon 3.0! or wait.. was it 4.0 at that point.. sheesh lost track.

Back after a break... WTH happened?

Really? I play pretty much every day for several hours at a time and I see massive numbers of players still playing in PvE and WvW.

Ahhh take a moment if you will, relax, and close your eyes. Now imagine the sky being a beautiful sky blue, with the fluffy clouds being fluffy white like marshmallows, and passing by in great numbers, and the sun shining like a sun shines.

Then you look down into wvw and see what it was four years ago with twenty plus full status servers, with almost all servers complaining about people not being able to get into maps and long queues.

Now jump ahead three years before the game life changing expansion is delivered and many of those servers have lost a great amount of players, with only three of them able to carry full status tags.

Nonchalantly skip ahead six months after the expansion was delivered, and the population dropped so much that they had to fold over half the servers down to twelve servers, to bring the population back to what it was just before the expansion was delivered.

Massive amount of players? sure of course nothing would look dead much if you play in the prime time of your server where zergs are abound everywhere. Sure as hell isn’t at the levels it was at even from when they did the links.

Also, pve zones has megaservers of course it’s going to look full all the time, that was the point of it.

Any condi build worth their salt will do 10-20% damage a second within a few seconds of engagement unless the target is very tanky or got condi cleanses and heals coming out its kitten .

This isnt PvE, we dont need to stack 30K dps over minutes on a lobotimized boss with a million billion hp. We only need to occupy them until the big hitters is on cd again.

I think that’s one of the biggest problems when it comes to pve type players understanding pvp. These are the same skills we are using on ourselves, and players don’t have the massive amount of hitpoint that npcs do.

Pve players generally don’t need to care about balance in numbers they’re just throwing the skills on npcs, all they want to do is kill faster that means throwing more damage as fast as possible.

“Why can’t we have skills hitting for 25k on a 2 minute cooldown?!?! it’s only 5% of the npcs health!!!”
- Because you’ll be one shotting someone in pvp every 2 minutes.
“So? who cares?”

So it isn’t possible until Anet learns how split skills or to cap damage on skills in certain areas of the game, (Surprised they haven’t as even Everquest a 20 year old game manage to have an adjustable cap on pve spells for damage on players in pve zones).

So yes that’s why balance is done mostly according to pvp side of games.

Patch summary…

02/21/2017 – February 21st Release Notes
Profession Skills
General:

  • Increased damage to a bunch of skills across all professions.
  • Lowered cool downs to a bunch of skills across all professions.
  • Increased condition damage and stacks to a bunch of skills across some professions.
  • Light Field: Blasting a light field will now cleanse a condition from allies in a radius of 360. This previously granted retaliation.

I guess we weren’t killing fast enough.

The important stuff.

World vs. World
General

  • Being killed while outnumbered no longer grants any war score to the enemy team. (Listen closely you could probably hear Maguuma screaming in the background.)
  • All siege devices and traps have been changed to gizmos that are consumed once they are placed. This change was made to help solve bugs in which siege devices and traps weren’t being granted back properly when they weren’t placed.
  • Siege bundles now stay in your hands until players drop, cancel, or run out of siege.
  • Changed the Potion of Ascalonian Mages to work similarly to combat tonics. The transformation now allows for all player skills to be used. The transformation is removed after 30 minutes. Clicking the potion again will remove the transformation.

Alpine Borderlands

  • Garrison’s back gate that enters the lord’s room now has secured, reinforced, and fortified states like all other gates. (After 4 years construction was finally completed.)

Desert Borderlands

  • Removed the floating gargoyle at the Shrine of Fire.

thats what u never see, cus who cares if a thief dies he didnt harm u and what doesnt harm u doesnt need a nerf.

So many things wrong with that short clip. Obviously if you run away from a zerg on foot without using skills you’re going to get run over, you had more than enough time to chain port away and use stealth. Instead you ported once and turned around to face the zerg again while your commander was still running. You don’t have to turn your character around to look behind you, the camera is separate from your movement. Getting interrupted once and then dead to a zerg is not something unique to thieves.

Now you think that’s bad for a thief imagine the other classes getting left behind and don’t have port or stealth to get away, you have both those tools and didn’t bother to use them.

1. You were in an outnumbered fight that your commander turned to go back to spawn in full retreat.
2. You started to run and got hit with burn cripple vulnerability.
3. You ported once with infiltrator’s arrow, you still had enough initiative to port again.
4. You could see your commander and zerg in full retreat and was already getting way ahead of you.
5. You then turned around to look at the enemy zerg(why?), your initiative was almost back to full.
6. You turn back around to run and it took you almost 3s before you attempted to port, you get interrupted with unsteady ground.
7. You get back up and another 3s of just running instead of porting and you get interrupted again by guardian line of warding.
8. You get back up with an evade and another 2s of not attempting to port just running.
9. You made the mistake of trying to outrun a zerg in the same direction they were going, to your spawn after your commander with swiftness on.
10. Most other thieves would have hit the panic button in their heads and ran away from the zerg towards the tower tunnel area and stealth away, or not even, they would have disengaged as soon as that break came by the tower and ran away around the tower.

You had more than enough time and chances to get away, that wasn’t a case of you getting interrupted once and dead from a zerg, that was you not playing properly with the tools of your class. Now it did look more like you were just waiting to get interrupted and one shotted, and not really trying to get away so you can try and prove your point in this thread, or are you really that bad?

at start of video i wanted to jump on the loner there i could have finished him, but i wouldnt be able to stomp him thus it was pointless to even jump on him.
every move a thief makes around blob fights have to be done so kittening carefully

with my guard/warrior i just dash in and enjoy the endless smashing till i die
with thief i dash in and im rally bot already.

At the start of the video no one was going to get that loner on the frontline unless they wanted to get run over by the zerg in the next couple seconds, not even a front liner.

It’s obvious a thief isn’t for the frontline and they have to pick and choose their targets, nether are some of the other leather classes or casters, if you want to be in the zerg pack and hitting frontline then play a class more appropriate for it.

At the moment, I think any overhaul to WvW will be packed into expansion pack #2 and not be released before that date. ANet will be putting all hopes for WvW into a new start, with the fresh players that come with the new expansion.

By that time, most of the dedicated WvW guilds will have vanished, after they had been been in decline for several years .

I’m figuring that’s what’s going to happen as well, not sure how well that will turn out for Anet though, after blowing off wvw for so long and making a lot of dedicated wvw players leave over the years. Combat is not even as good as it was before and I expect another round of elite specs to make it even worse.

I thought that Anet said that it was scrapped because it kept getting bigger and bigger, until someone woke up and realized that they really need to work on PvE and sPvP.

They then decided to move the WvW team to the xpac and living story and only do changes to WvW that were quick.

You won’t see any major WvW changes until next xpac release or later.

Apparently they kept adding parts to the project and it kept getting bigger and getting delayed. So after Colin left Mo had the team work on bringing the pieces out when they were ready, which is all the work this past year amounted to.

Supposedly the main part was the alliance thing which they apparently scrapped and went with links instead, since it was deemed a quicker solution to implement to the rapidly dying population problem after HoT.

Changes to Ascended Vending

I totally understand why a ascended Vendor for WVW is wanted but i see literally no chance for Anet adding one for just Badges of Honor or BoH and gold – everyone and their mothers has plenty of those.

The changes they are making now make chances for an ascended vendor in wvw more realistic imo. That or they would need to use a other wvw related currency alltogether.

Badge of honor is pretty much viewed as karma, a useless currency for old stuff. I don’t know why people who object to having an ascended vendor in wvw automatically thinks it has to be badged of honor to purchase it. I certainly wouldn’t use badges in the pricing since lots of players have farmed that for 4 years and barely spent it on anything other than siege blueprints. There are more recent wvw currencies to use or introduce a new for that to start fresh, as long as the cost and time is on par with the other sections it’s fine.

As to why an ascended vendor is wanted? Wvw operates under pve rules, ascended is wanted for the same reason it’s wanted in fractals and raids, it’s the best gear to obtain. But every other section (fractal raids spvp) is now allowed to earn the gear just by playing in their section and collecting the currency there, with the change everyone will also require crafting, and that’s fine. I personally don’t think it’s fair that even the section that doesn’t require ascended gets access to a vendor over wvw.

Epidemic which was considered balanced by the community for 4 years has now apparently become super OP and must be nerfed.
Watch the squeaky wheel get the grease.

Yeah but keep in mind conditions wasn’t as powerful or plentiful back in the day as it is now.
Not that I think it needs a nerf either way, but combat has changed since HoT.

Did I ever say you specifically calling Thief Unkillable, OP killing machines? Nope, I said complainers there are quite a few in this thread saying they are unkillable and win every match up…. go ahead and go read every statement I was quite clear.

I only asked for each complainer to post videos showcasing their complaints and how easy and braindead each is… you complain about the Ghost thief I asked you to show how easy and braindead easy it is to kill people…. shocker.

Why are you responding to me with that garbage then?
Go harass one of the “complainers” to make a video for you.

Ah that post you linked Xenesis only shows bass not knowing how to use a Condi cleanse or to not stay and fight, again show a video of you playing Thief and show casing how braindead easy and OP it is steam rolling all classes like the complainers say it can, so to the complainers, show yourself steamrolling everyone easily in even fights on Thief.

Lol first you want to discount the multiple video proof of brain dead easy killing with a thief, and then you want me to make a video for you on a class that’s like bottom of the list for my alts. How about I only manage to play this game 2 hours a week on reset these days and not going to waste my time playing on an alt making a video for you. I’ve played every class in the game, not exactly hard to play them if you do some research and learn a class.

Never said they steamrolled all classes, just that stealth mechanic and it’s counters in this game is one of the dumbest ever implemented into a game, them being able to the do the damage that they can while in stealth is ridiculous.

Now how about you make a video for us on hard it is to play a thief since it’s your main.

wvw tonic

You were able to transform into ascalonian tonic and use skills until this very last patch. THEY RUINED IT. They literally messed up ascalonian tonic because there were some other tonic that was being exploited by people. What was there to exploit about ascalonian tonic? that you can look cool and #BIG AND STRONG. Anet always ruin things.

Mckenna said he/she will look into fixing it or reverting it well it’s been 3 weeks and still no fix to it. I am stuck using ugly Kodan tonic.

It was 11 days ago she responded to it in the ama. Chillax.

Woes [Woe] Grandma Chars ftw XD

Every servers has had it’s superstar guild. If you want the top fighter guilds that a lot of people know it’s RG AGG EP NS, the last remaining fight guilds today probably still has members dating back to those guilds. There are guilds that could control maps with numbers ONS TW PRX and dozens more.

I’m confused I thought the op was asking for legendary names of guilds meaning names we thought were awesome guild names, but seems all anyone is posting is what they consider good guilds.

Oh true dat, awesome guild names, guess I’ll throw up a couple names of guilds I have respect for.

For 5 characters I figure I have 45 pieces of ascended gear that matter (both weapon slots 2handed, 1handed & offhands and 6 pieces of armor x 5). I’d approximate I crafted 25 pieces, know I’ve bought 5 from spvp, gotten 1 leg box from fractals and so rest are wvw, 14. I am rank ~2000.

And how many of those 14 drops from wvw were rings? Be honest here.

Wvw Populations?

But yes if the activity tracker is as low as 5mins for the day, then it needs to be changed.

Eotm isn’t counted, but the problem there is those players that go to eotm are still on the server for the next week, so the system can’t just instantly open up for a server because they all decide to spend a week in eotm or take it off entirely. It needs a period of time to do comparisons to set the activity.

I think TC will probably open in the next few days as the system compares their activity the last few weeks.

why boon share meta MUST stay

Boon share has to be around in some form because of condition bombs and corruption, because of how strong they made conditions with the expansion they needed to have something to counter it.

Having boons lasting for more than a minute, hell even 30s, was pretty stupid though.

Grant Gertz Producer Wvw, Pvp and Fractals

Greetings Tyrians!

With the next release we will be making some changes to ascended vending in PvP and Fractals. Over the past year we introduced ways to obtain ascended gear via participation in either game mode thus allowing players to acquire gear by playing the game mode they chose. We implemented these vendors in a way that made sense for their perspective player base at the time. With the next release we are making two significant changes to these vendors to create one system that functions the same regardless of game mode.

First, each game mode will still use a specific currency unique to that mode as part of the price but the rest of the costs associated with purchasing the gear will be the same across the game modes. Having a unified system for acquiring ascended gear via vendors will give us more flexibility for adjustments, if they are needed, and it will give us the flexibility to potentially introduce this system in other game modes where appropriate.

Second, purchasing the ascended gear will now rely much more on player crafting. The cost for a piece of gear will now include a crafted token which shows a player’s mastery of the appropriate crafting discipline, the game mode specific currency, and raw gold. Ascended crafting is vital to sustaining a healthy economy and it is important that we keep that in place even when a player acquires ascended items via a vendor. For PvP, this will add a considerable cost to the acquisition of ascended gear. Please note that you will be able to buy gear with current prices until the update is live.

Ascended vending is not intended to be the optimal path for acquiring ascended gear, but rather a way for players to acquire the gear through time spent playing their preferred game mode. And while ascended vending now requires max level crafting, players that obtain ascended gear via vending will see a moderate discount in cost over traditional crafting.

Over the past year we introduced ways to obtain ascended gear via participation in either game mode thus allowing players to acquire gear by playing the game mode they chose.

Ya it’s so bad in wvw,

You just play the game mode and occasionally you get an acended box drop that you can then choose what piece of gear to get. Then use a cheap mystic forge recipe and roll whatever stat on it you want. So much worse than over 60g in crafting materials and time gates for the cheaper pieces (wvw boxes don’t care if you pick chest or gloves, 2hander or offhand), assuming you have 500 crafting of course.

Except like 75% of the drops are rings, got like 20 rings sitting in my inventory. Spent most of my time 3+ years in wvw and have not collected enough boxes to even make a full set yet from drops (rng is rng I’m sure there are those that have been lucky too), and nevermind that you can get drops not for your class too.

Oh yeah great system, there’s no possible way they could bring in a vendor system on par with the other current ones, oh no, not possible at all. Those k-training plebs in wvw need to keep suffering.

Wvw is still attached to pve, so don’t get hyped over this. We’re lucky they toned down boon sharing last time, but the pve players think they broke revenants and it’s wvw’s fault. How much of “don’t peeve pve players” will go into their future balance decisions, I guess we’ll see on tuesday.

As I stated in that thread also, it’s not going to matter much if they’re not going to touch the bloated boon/condition systems from HoT that turned combat into absolute kitten.

It was slowly dying before HoT released and then took a nose dive for like 6 months after release of the expansion. Links didn’t kill wvw, it killed server identity, but merges of some sort at some point would have been needed regardless.

i dont think the population would even out that way.
if every server had about equal population then ur right, you can have alot of random matches. but with such a system people will bandwagon at the beginning of it and then it will remain that way.

Hell they even bandwagoned before the game got released lol, titan alliance to HoD, ocx to SoS. Then free open transfers for months after, system was broken from the start.

A loyalty system would have been a good idea to implement years ago, unfortunately with free accounts around it would still be possible for players to move where they want anyways.

Mudse, if players didn’t move around so much and we actually had more evened out populations between servers, the glicko system could produce more random matches with higher variance to ratings. But with the way things turned out, it’s obviously bad to try and throw a t4 server even into t2, that’s why the variance was really low before and matches became stale.

The quality of fights is definitely different from t1 all the way to t4 though, I can see why fight guilds wanted to move up and usually settle in t2, and why havoc guilds wanted to move down to get away from the blobs.

The tonic was set up in a really weird way and wasn’t consistent with tonics anywhere else in the game. So we changed it to function the same way as all tonics. However, I’ll look into changing it so it works the same as the kodan/watchknight tonic.

for a game mode like this its essential to have siege, but that doesn’t mean siege should counter groups of coordinated people.

You’re right it shouldn’t counter coordinated groups, and it doesn’t.

Your group isn’t coordinated if you can’t counter siege properly or find other ways into a structure. It’s more likely the commander is lazy and doesn’t want to put any extra effort in taking something.

I see it it all the time when a commander will attack one gate even though it’s been fortified with siege after one encounter, and wouldn’t try another gate or wall which has no siege on it.

Almost every siege placement can be countered in the game (shield gens are a kitten sometimes), or avoid the heavy siege areas, you don’t have to park your rams under 3 acs at the same gate four times and hope for the best.

Which is why Anet and the system cannot instantly react to the change in activity, because a lot of times it would be false information. Since matches last a week, and players will take off the entire week to avoid bad matches, or just go play in eotm (which isn’t counted for activity but they’re still on the server to play wvw in the future), the data has to be collected over a period of weeks or months for proper comparison.

The only thing that could speed up the process of checking activity, is if the system actually does spot checks to see how many accounts actually transferred in and out during the week as well. If JQ had 2000 player activity last week, and lost 4 guilds of maybe 200 players, maybe that puts them under the threshold right away, then maybe they can open right away instead of waiting another week to check previous activity.

We may want a more complicated screening process for player activity (like taking out the daily farmers), but the reality is these days it really only affects a few servers because they were/are in t1, it’s not a problem for 20+ servers.

For example, if I played the free game today, and decided to purchase Heart of Thorns, I would find it a remarkable amount of content! Many new legendaries, 8 new maps, several different raids, and so many masteries. It seems that they have at this point, the expansion is definitely worth the money, especially because of what it promises.

That’s great…. for new players, but what about the ones that bought the expansion on day one and were only delivered a portion of the promised content from the expansion, a year and half later still haven’t even received the full content promised. What about those players who are not even playing these days, looking like they got ripped off paying for a full expansion but didn’t get everything they paid for.

They sold this expansion like every other company is trying to do in ripping players off with “season pass” in other games. We’re vaguely gonna give you this and that over the next year, thanks for paying for it up front, also we’re going to work on the next expansion while you wait for whatever we promised.

So content patches in those game are not a continuation of the things introduced in the expansion? Like new skins or levels for the artifact weapons in Legion. Yes that should have been there from the start. Including all planned raids.

Except WoW gave out 36 artifacts, each having 5 sets of skins, with each of those having 4 different colors, from day one. The hidden set #2 is a bonus set. They usually start off with a starter raid, then add raids to continue progress every content patch, current expansion is already up to 3 raids.

GW2 is on new legendary weapons number which one again? Where’s the legendary armor again?

It really does seem like something odd is going on with their calculations.

It might just be a case of some servers having a greater number of players logging in for much shorter periods of time, but enough time over the minimum needed to count their participation in wvw like maybe BG. Or some servers having less number of individual players but they play for much more extended periods of time like maybe Mag (they do seem to have more hardcore wvw players these days).

It’s known that TC and JQ have lost guilds, JQ more recently and yet they are still over the population threshold to keep them closed.

Their minimum participation timer check could be anywhere from 5mins to an hour, who knows but them, maybe it’s something they need to recheck, the data also seemed to be collected over a period of a week before servers would change their status (think an anet dev mentioned something about this before).

Their system always seemed to react slowly to population loss and open a server up (if it does indeed drop below the threshold), but reacts quicker on closing servers up, like the times they only open for a day which suggest manual closure.

Maybe BG dropped below the threshold last week and then Anet closed them quickly because of complaints, but they really hadn’t gone above the threshold and the calculations over the past week determined that and reopened it again.

We also have to keep in mind some servers have tried to game the system with players, guilds or popular commanders taking breaks and dropping participation numbers. Which is why the system should not react instantly to fluctuations which it seems players want.

Any number of things could be happen with the system at the moment, they do need to maybe take another look and fine tune the system, and also maybe drop the population threshold again (without telling us this time).

As for the other stuff… good luck with that.

You said it yourself, players were asking for “buffs” for their classes like the tempest that showed itself to be weak. Asking to be overpower would be a class that is already on top of the food chain and asking for more buffs, in which case it’s up to Anet to refuse and explain if they want, why those changes are not needed.

Now what you and Roy are saying is it’s the players fault for the elite specs being overpowered because of their requests, and really it’s just the players role to provide feedback however insane it might be. Anet has the final judgement in balancing, a spec is overpowered because Anet chose to implement it that way. You can throw 20 different crazy requests at them, and if they decide to implement all 20 without concern over balancing that’s Anet’s fault, not the player.

Anet are the ones that are suppose to have a vision for the class and how it should perform, they can take request from players for improvements, as is done with every single game out there, but it’s up to them to filter and implement the appropriate fixes if needed. Of the 20 crazy requests if maybe 2 sound reasonable for balance, then maybe they can implement it and see how it goes.

If the players were misguided in their requests then so was Anet for listening and implementing changes that made those specs overpowered, but ultimately it’s the developers fault for making changes to new traits, new specs, new overall combat changes, and then not even giving a kitten for over a year on how they have affected the game.

Players will always ask for buffs or changes to a class whether it under or over performing, performance which is seen differently to every player playing or not playing that class. Roy said the community asked for overpowered specs, I say they asked for fixes.

Developers are the ones that are suppose to judge if a class is under or over performing and then implement appropriate changes. Anet stated they would try to keep the elite specs in line with old specs, they failed to do so and probably for the simple reason to keep selling the expansion.

Bottom line is the overpowered elite specs is the fault of Anet, not the community, they asked for balance fixes which to this day they are still asking for.

Oh right they just followed what the community threw at them and made the elite specs overpowered, they have no control over balance because of the players.

Asking for buffs doesn’t automatically mean asking to be overpowered.

Listened to their player base too well, LOL thanks for the laugh.

P.S it’s been almost a year and half and they’ve barely touched balancing, games like WoW are still balancing specs every single patch even to just tweak a number here and there. Anet knows the specs are op over the base classes, and they’ve left it like that to sell the expansion, pure and simple.

They wanted them fixed not overpowered, a couple specs were lackluster compared to the others. Everyone wants the spec they play to be competitive with every other one, of course there’s the ones that want it to destroy everyone else, but those are the crazy outliners that don’t care about anything but themselves getting easy wins.

Anet also said they would keep them in line with the older specs, and they sure as hell didn’t.

Yes we are talking about the same patch, the one that took the game down the path in ruining combat balance.

Maybe the yaks bend people want a link and move to t2, looks like they can handle t3 by themselves though. 6 servers doesn’t mean you’re fighting 6 equal servers and the fact that YB can still defeat those 6 servers should tell you how much population and coverage they have compared to those 6 combined.

Also t3 seems to be the most balanced matchup in the last few weeks, I wouldn’t worry about it so much and just enjoy it. The score right now is SBI 138, YB 137 NSP 145 and probably go right down the wire.

TC and JQ on the other hand have something to complain about.

If any maps should be reworked or made ever again, they should be made like ebg not a borderland map.

No, they should actually be EB IMO.

Not to improve the gameplay or anything, just to watch the hilarity ensue.

Imagine all the confused zergers.

Go to EB on logon gogogo even if its 80 man queue! Wait there are 4 EB? Where should I queue? Where do I go?! What will I do?!?! Who’s commanding EB? No not that EB, the EB I’m on!!! There’s no commander here! What, no there is a commander here why are people saying there is no commander on EB? We’re loosing SM!!! What do you mean “which SM”?! They are right outside Anza! No not that Anza, this Anza ffs!

Lol actually I think it was suggested in one of the map threads for them to try out ebg as the bl map for a week and make alpine or eotm as the ebg map. Although they could do it with just 3 maps, since even the full servers these days are only managing 2-3 map queues on reset night.

Red would have a “slight” advantage for the alpine map, depending on how much they would get double teamed. But yeah the map callouts would be hilariously confusing as hell, although they have the channels labeled now.

The July 2015 specialization change patch and the community asking for more over powered elite specs’ brought WvW roaming to where it is now.

Wait… wut?

Players were calling for new weapons and maybe a new class, I’m pretty sure the competitive community wouldn’t be calling for overpowered specs. In fact they were content that Anet said they would make the new elite specs on par with the old ones, to which they never have done.

The june 23rd 2015 patch, basically a pre-load of the re-balancing traits with the new elites and changes to conditions coming with the expansion, really messed up this game.

I’d like to some examples of MMOs that can generate content so quickly that it can keep you hooked to it forever, without Grind ou TimeGates….
There isn’t! Wow has been surviving of returning players to expansions for years!

I know we should always demand more and better, and that’s right, but there are things that are almost impossible to keep popping out constantly, mainly in a game as big as GW2.

Four years after release they also had 2 of their best expansions out and their numbers were still climbing, expansions mind you that were like 4x bigger than HoT. The bulk of the content was given up front, with a couple dungeons/raids/end zones added after release. WoW also has a ton of content for most players to do (hell some players felt overwhelmed with the new expansion and how much there was to do).

Also WoW tends to generate all their content for most of their player base these days, which can be seen with the different difficulty levels in dungeons and raids, lfr normal heroic mythic+, their arena/bg pvp operates on seasons which they implemented early on. So from the casual to the hardcores have something to do, the ones that tended to take a break were the hardcores that beat the raids early and then took a break for the next raid or end of expansion.

This is why I think gw2 will always be 10 years behind wow on how they’ve developed pve and pvp in the game. If gw2 had a lfr for raiding (but not as dumb down as wow does it) they probably would see a lot more players in raids. If they had developed wvw with spvp maybe things would be different there.

No question blizzard development is like molasses, and there’s big break in between content patches. But anet is also like molasses and haven’t been able to deliver the wide range of content to keep their playerbase interested. Mind you the living story is now part of the expansion, raids, legendary armor and weapons, not fully released almost a year and half after the expansion came out.

Anet did a shift in content development, in both type and timing, and not everyone is following along with it.

Meh they have 1 shield gen up by the looks of it at the door which isn’t going to cover the gen and trebs at the same time, maybe there’s one behind them, but again meh.

In any case they’re in a bad matchup, we’ve all been in matches like that.

Also, shield gens is the worse siege they could have added to wvw, would rather mobile cannons over shield gens, gg on that one anet devs.
