It is not right, no matter what is the amount. And if you don’t give a kitten why did you comment anyway?

SoR, you are very good practice for us when we go rolling as a guild, but this matchup is downright ridiculous as you seem to have no down time at all.

From what I can see the major guilds of SBI are chilling out doing some PvE or real life stuff at the moment and testing different tactics with you guys when they roll. All day today it seems our BL was defended mostly by pugs.

Anyway very cool fights so far. Fighting you I think made us realize the full potential of our guild (Abyss).

As for SoS, we will have a real 3 way match-up in the future where we will fight each others more evenly… As it is right now most of SBI have decided to focus on SoR, out of respect and also for training purposes .

A new siege bug was introduced, you cannot cancel siege if you accidentally doubleclick it or change your mind about deploying it.

Because I wouldn’t placed it back in my inventory I restarted the game, it was gone.

This is REALLY REALLY BAD programming or issue management; Someone in my guild said it’s because of some cheap Golems on TP problem that you introduced this intentional bug. I don’t care what is the reason, why should we lose stuff because of some lame TP exploit (which is also only possible because of Anet’s own TP design)?

Q: Will Anet at least refund the gold lost with that new intentional bug? (or give back the siege)

Or we could get a job in real life instead…

Seriously, when I heard about the living story I thought it would fill in the unexplored area on the map. After an entire year of living story only Southsun has been permanently added (and it’s great – difficulty level also, lacks reasons to go back however – was more fun on release), we also had the Sanctum (which I also loved but it was removed!).

Are you going to add only 1 area to explore per year and not offer expansions?

As if having to do world completion and have an insane amount of materials isn’t enough to merit the precursor crafting you have to somehow find 1000g for the stupid precursor, that after the entire game has already been spoiled and there is only the bi-weekly update stuff left to do. It’s a kittenty design philosophy.

I was 50% done with my legendary and gave up on the game for a month when the precursor spiked at 1000g. What’s the point anyway, since the reward for all their released updates are new skins anyway?

THe problem isn’t even with the boss or the difficulty. The problem is one GuildWars 2 has all over the place:

The loot is not scaled, it is totally random and is not proportionate to the effort needed or time invested. Levelling to level 250 in WvWxp gives you the same crappy chest as levelling to level 2. But any people with common sense who would have programmed this game would have realized that this is ridiculous and that every new title needed to be accompanied to new loot chances (ex: no more blue in chest when you reach bronze, no more greens when you reach silver, etc).

Teq should drop only exotics or ascended and thats it.

I’m not doing it anymore, nor am I doing that new dungeon. Way too time consuming for the uncertainty of a reward worth more than salvaging.

it would be a nice addition but it is “the mordor of the game”… I prefer they add this at the end when there is no more land to add rather than have another empty beach map. I trust their creativity no more and don’t want them to invent new hazardous maps in the future.

At this point I don’t care… Anything new they can come up with. I barely touched the game this week beside the new dungeon and when I went back in yesterday I just fell asleep in WvW.

This was predictable. Waiting 2 hours to do a boss you have 5% chance to win against to get a bunch of greens is just not fun.

I like guildwars 2 when I was discovering the skills, the maps, and the WvW mechanics. Now I realize it has little to sustain interest in comparison to GW1 (GvG) besides dressing up your characters.

They need to make it so that legendaries and ascended (or any item, minis included) can drop anywhere in a level 80 zone and in WvW (even if the chance are minuscule).
They need to randomize the champion spawn time so people cannot chain them.
They need to focus both on PvE and PvP badly:
PvE needs more than a dungeon, it needs like 15 new super difficult areas to explore (ring of fire? desert?).
WvW needs 3 different borderlands and 2 battlegrounds.
Bosses needs to be at the end of long and dark caverns, not in the outside world beside a waypoint.

So many things are done wrong simply because they want people to waste money on gems or because they lack vision.

Frankly there’s no way any designer could design an armor set that looks good enough to be worth 6x the grind an Ascended weapon requires.

Yeah, not to mention the 200g it takes to level the crafting to 500. They should have kept it at 400 and put a price on recipes… They could have time-gated it if their aim is just to slow people down and make the game feel like a job.

in WvW

Xillllix.3485

WvW is what it is, unless they come up with new maps only the hardcore players will stay and they will all move up to the winning servers. What we are witnessing now in WvW is a sort of general deception, that even with the new bloodlust area nothing really changed. It’s the same thing over and over and rarely does servers of equal force meet on the field. The lower servers are losing their WvW population for that reason.

Not even the promised traps got released, and all we have are the beta traps, one of which is quite uselessly aimed at destroying a class mechanic for 30 seconds.

They should focus on GvG, a gametype that is balanced and worked well in GW1. But they prefer to release a 2 hours dungeon that you are supposed to play over and over for 2 weeks instead of competitive content. This will make them lose customers who will steamroll through it and put the game away for 1 week until the next WvW matchup reset.

The new dungeon path is an interesting option, but in my opinion it’s not what the game needs the most at the moment.

- New and harder areas need to be added to the world map because once you’ve explored it all there is nothing left to do; even some of the new areas you added (Zephyr Sanctum) have been removed
We wanna do exploration again, have the game feel new.

- Guild Halls and GvG feature are missing
- New WvW maps because it’s getting too repetitive

The new TA dungeon could well have been accessible through a new area, for example east of the forest. It is enjoyable but it will not keep people playing for 2 weeks.

Have you ever considered reducing the difference between low and high health professions?

That is the balance solution right there: The base health difference between light armor classes and heavy armor classes is too large, it should be slightly reduced or have a cap.

A warrior shouldn’t run around with 32k hp when ele’s and thief have 16k hp.

I’m not sure why anet felt it was necessary to change that ele skill to a copy of the Guardian’s Line of Warding.

Why not just increase the damage, cripple duration and add bleeding to it?

It will be interesting to keep people under your aoe, but I still don’t understand how making the ele more similar to a guardian improves the ele. And now what about guardians? The “unique” skill they had is now shared by another class (because that other class needs a boost but you don’t want to increased it’s dps even if it’s the lowest of all classes).

There is so many other problems with the ele, one of which is the Warrior, which has twice our health pool, deals much more damage per second than we do, and its skills take 250% less time to cast. The game feels totally unbalanced from that perspective.

Another immense problem is ALL the traits which only works when attuned to a specific elements.

I could see use of this in various situations and yes, knockdown would make more sense.

80 is double Line of Warding’s cooldown, which is how Anet tends to balance to balance ele skills

Yeah it will feel “very overpowered” to place a line of warding in front of a warrior that has 32k HP and can destroy you pressing 3 keys.

Honestly, the memory of the fun GvG moments in GW1 is what made me buy this game in the first place. I enjoy the rest of the features, but one would not have expected you would remove THE key feature that defined Guild Wars.

WvW is fun for a while but it seems too complex in nature; there hasn’t been more maps made for it in a year. Nothing has really changed, it is getting really repetitive because in most match teams are of unequal sizes.

GvG in GW1 was a real eSport, teams were balanced, it was fun and the smaller maps were varied.

Maybe make the living story around a new GvG feature? Release a new map every 2 weeks and have a PvE element leading to it?

Xillllix.3485

Elementalist:
Shocking Aura: Added the shocking aura buff to the skill fact.

Wont change anything

Elemental Attunement: Normalized this trait so that each boon can apply up to 5 allies within a 240 radius.

Sure whatever

Evasive Arcana: Normalized the radius of each spell created to 180.

*Define “normalized”, it was 240 for the other skill

Persisting Flames: The duration increase for fire fields is now consistent.

Consistence is an important quality in a work of art

Burning Fire: This trait now lists the proper skill names in its description.

I see where your going with this…

Written in Stone: Fixed an issue which caused Signet of Air to lose its effect partially though the skill’s recharge.

It’s about time

Glyph of Storms: This skill now properly displays the duration of each spell.

omg yes! …wait! … I misread that.

Geyser: Increased the base radius to 180. Increased the radius when equipped with the blasting staff trait to 240. Fixed a bug so that the water field radius would match the increased radius with the blasting staff trait.

This will really help my staff elementalist not getting destroyed by a thief or warrior in two second before being able to cast a spell right?

Water Blast: Increased the healing stat scaling from 10% to 25%. Slightly decreased base heal at low levels but it will heal for same base at level 80.

So it’s been “normalized” now

Well organized guilds will blast your waterfields and the amount health that generates is not influenced by the elementalist healing power… Therefore in that situation your healing power doesn’t really matter for WvW. It’s better to put those points into damage.

Sure you can add 200-300 more per tick, but when being hit for 2000k+ in the heat of battle it will not make such a difference. The group strategy with the fields is more important.

Agreed:

-Blasts do not scale to my Healing Power to other players so its useless there.
-200/300 per tick with a 2k hit does not sound like much indeed.

However the combination of regeneration + soothing mist + condition cleans = heals from the waterfields = everybody almost full health all the time.

You have a point that waterfield and blasts are important and can be doable in coordinated groups. However that alone while not get you anywhere it heals too little and in wvw in the heat of battle there is always someone laying a different field on your field. So its not reliable enough as a main source of healing ( blasting trough waterfields) You need a combination of all those factors.

Yup… (Well sorry for the long slightly off-topic ramble:)

I have spent so much time perfecting my ele and for me at the moment there is only one build that satisfy me for staff: 0/30/0/20/20

Average raw stats I went for. My stats are mixed all over the place to get as close as possible to those precise stats (for example my crits are exactly 100%), divinity runes, ascended celestial staff and all ascended trinkets:
Power 1900 (3000 dmg)
Crits 40%(+50% with gep or 60% with fury)/100%
Cond 200
Healing 500
Toughness 1530 (1600 with food)
Vitality 1500 (1600 with food)

Fresh Air/Cantrips build, my precision is sent back into healing. I cannot live without fresh air, my bolts usually hit for over 2k when I have might stacks and I send them down immediately after meteor shower/static field (then I send 5 (immobilize)-2 earth, get another fresh air bolt (no cast just att), water ice field (healing if required) and nuke again).

With a well placed meteor shower you can level a zerg (avg +4k each meteor with might) if you get them stuck under it:
Lord room battle yesterday: AoEarth for stability + meteor showers and other aoe, we (our guild) took out a zerg 3 times our size rushing twice in from their waypoint. My damage numbers were off the chart and the healing was apparently enough, none of us even died.

I’m not sure that without my sustained aoe damage we would have survived. The point being that in some situation offence is the better defence.

What would you use Armor of Earth for then, if not against stun? How is a stunbreaker/stability skill wasted if you use it to protect against stuns?

Because any organized guild will hit you first with a bunch of guardians knocking you down with their hammers, necros with fear, mesmers with daze, etc.

You need your stability first to successfully drop Churning earth or Meteorshower without getting interrupted. AoEarth will be unusable as a stun breaker for 90 sec. Keeping it to break stun pretty much guarantee that your slow-to-cast spells will be interrupted.

What other stability skill does the ele have? None. Therefore that stability on Armor of Earth is extremely precious; I wouldn’t use it to break stun unless I foresee myself dropping my most powerful spells just after, or if it’s a run-for-your-life situation.

in Elementalist

The ele wouldn’t be overpowered even if they gave the ele a weapon swap with a cooldown like that of the guardian.

Sure, because an auramacer that has acces to both Shocking, Frost and Magnatic aura isn’t overpowered one bit.

Or an ele with twice the number of knockdowns/interrupts.

Or perma chills.

Or so many blast finishers in a water field that they heal themselves more than their healing skills do.

Or all of the above combined into every build…

On any class when you switch during battle you have something like a 8 second cooldown before you can switch again.

I am not dissatisfied with the last patch. I wish there was more maps made for WvW, but at least they tried something. The problem is that the update didn’t remove the feeling of repetition from the game.

I think the negative reactions are mostly due to the fact that we have played over and over the same maps and that the borderland update, as welcomed as it may be, isn’t enough to improve our experience with the game.

This game needs different 3 different borderlands and perhaps 2 central Battleground maps, with more battles taking place not just outdoors but darker dungeon-type areas.
