Oh wow it just decided to download 15000 files, yay, something to do for the next 5 hours.
Hi, since the last patch the game is no longer launching (stays stuck on login, no message of the week or anything).
Anyone else has the same problem?
It was huge mistake they mad. They literally broke that skill and mist-form simultaneously. Oh they still work, but they are pale versions of what they used to be (great skills).
Just who would take great skills like that and normalize them with the rest removing their inner particularities (removing utilities and elite in mist form is a disaster of a decision)
2 Things:
Earthen Blast should be a blast finisher
Every ele I spoke too said it make complete sense. That would serve as a good alternative to Evasive arcana as a blast finisher and it’s the only coherent way I see to have people considering not spending 30 points in arcana. It would also be a buff to a more than often useless trait nobody use.
Change One with Fire (remove useless trait) to Smoke Fields
Skill info: Substitute Fire fields with Smoke fields, +25-33% stealth duration (they would still cause the skill damage – but when blasted would give stealth instead of might)
The ele already has a smoke field underwater, I don’t see why we wouldn’t have one outside of water.

Our hope is not to destroy builds but to make more. Right now the way it looks for Elementalists in PvP is that most builds will still be the same, maybe with a little less AOE condition removal, but there will be more accessible options when going higher in the Fire, Air, and Earth trees.
But destroying builds is exactly what’s going to happen if you move traits up and from adept to master. It’s inevitable if you make them require more trait points.
Changing or improving traits is the only solution if you wish to avoid destroying builds.

My build (WvW, GvG, and PvE) incorporates everything I want from my staff ele and now there is a strong chance it will not work anymore:
I run 10/15/0/15/30, sigil of battle, 3 cantrips as utilities.
10 Fire: Might stacks on all cantrips (9), + sigil (3) elemental attn-fire (1), dodge roll into fire field (3). Total of 16 might stacks (this is where I get my condition damage).
15 Air: 33% dmg to foes – 20% hp, Absolutely required bolt on Air attn.
15 Water: regen on cantrips
30 Arcana: Ele attn, Blasting Staff, Evasive arcana (because dodging in earth it is the best blast finisher we have)
I really do not want to lose any of this.

Personally I do not think anything noticeable will change unless:
1: we have more blast finishers traits like evasive arcana
2: the “other” utility skills are improved to be as good as the cantrips
Suggestion: How about a blast finisher on earth attunement “Earthen Blast”

- Arcane Resurrection is going up to master tier instead of Renewing Stamina.
- Windborne Dagger is going to function outside of combat.
- Soothing Disruption is moving to master tier.
- Cantrip Mastery is moving to adept tier.
- Soothing Wave redesign: Gain Regeneration(3s) on incmoing critical hits. 10s recharge.
but why is arcane resurrection going up to master tier? How would I revive zerkers floor sniffers now that it’s going to be master tier? Can anyone explain that? God kitten zerkers.
WHERE? Soothing Disruption going to Master will TOTALLY break my 10/15/0/15/30 cantrip build. I will have to lose either my might stacking or healing on cantrips, my bolt on air attunement, or my elemental dodge blast in Arcana.
This is horrible news.
As someone who play WvW on a light-armored class all the time I’m happy about the hammer nerf, it was about time something was done even if it will not make that much of a difference.
Something should be done about immobilize and immobilize stacking as well.
People saying the warrior-class is now “obsolete” have obviously never duelled as an ele against them.

It’s a might on cantrips and healing on cantrip staff build.
Thank God you are not moving Soothing Disruption to master, else I would be mad as hell.
Evasive Arcana is so much better than any other Grandmaster trait (as it gives you an extra blast in combat that doesn’t take 4 seconds to cast) I don’t see myself removing points from arcana after this patch.
Nerfing arcana (diminishing the recharge gain from 2% to 1% per points) is not going to make other traits seem more interesting. It should be 1.5% per point and bring us to 13/8 instead of 15/10. But we need much better traits in the other lines, including some blast finishers (like evasive arcana in earth).
Lowering cantrips 20% recharge to Adept will improve slightly my damage for my build but decrease my survability if I choose it over Soothing Disruption.
Giving us only 1 interesting skill in Earth (Diamond skin) will not make me change my entire build.
After the patch I’ll try 20 less points in arcana, maybe to something like : 10/30/0/20/10
It’s like my old fresh Air build build that I ditched for evasive arcana/might. Losing Evasive arcana Ill lose all my field blasting… Which sucks.
I appreciate the work but it seems like a half-way patch.
I feel mostly good about the new traits changes.
It would be nice if the changes for once were really noticeable (2-3% variations on boons have absolutely no impact on the gameplay – like the toughness boost on earth trait 5, it’s clearly not enough). Also I’m not talking about the Ride The Lightning dramatic-&-catastrophic-nerf noticeable, I’m talking positive things, like a trait extending Chain lighting to 5 targets instead of 3 for example.
After focusing on traits will you consider improving some of the utility skills? Because as it stands right now, using cantrips in WvW is a necessity. The ele has no survability as soon as it leave it’s water attunement, so we can only use defensive utility in WvW or pvp.
The damaged made by the conjured weapons is still too low, with the exception of the fiery great sword and the Frost bow. However I think the frost bow range should be increased to 1200, to give it some sort of validity against rangers.
The summoned creatures are still useless in WvW as well. If they could last 5 minutes instead of 1 perhaps they would serve a purpose. They are so slow however that by the time they attack usually the fight is over.
Many thanks for this initiative to improve the ele traits.
Champions are fine, and so is the farming.
Add more of them everywhere and people will populate more areas again.

I bought it way back when it was 45 gold (along with another one), with a gem purchase transferred to gold.
I would NEVER have sold it, and I certainly didn’t salvage it.

i can’t imagine a scenario in WvW where i would die and think “man, i would’ve won if only he didn’t have ascended armor!.”
It would be more like “man, i timed that dodge wrong” or “man, i would’ve had him if that other guy didn’t join the fight” or “man, i shouldn’t be playing my elementalist.”
i understand the concern, but at the same time, couldn’t you just say, “its not fair those other guys have exotic gear against my full set of rares! I shouldn’t be forced to get exotic gear!”
You’ll learn your lesson once you start getting smoked by people who do approx 20% more damage in full ascended sets.

even if it was the case that i got smoked by someone in full ascended, how often do you get to 1v1 in WvW on an even playing field, build’s balanced against each other, to where the only deciding factor of the battle is simply he had more power/crit dmg than me?
I mean that’s possible but that is probably < 1% of the encounters i have in WvW.
Who said anything about 1v1? If you’re group meets another group that happens to have the capability to deal 20% more damage, what do you think will happen?

Offhand Focus has never been seen since it stopped blocking treb projectiles…
Anet treated RTL as if gw 2 was working perfectly, while it is the glitchy nature of the game making it extra nasty. Apart from what other people have already said:
1) RTL is STILL BUGGY. Now players get punished double when the bug occurs.
2) the cooldown is INVISIBLE to you when out of air attunement for upto 15 seconds, but you can’t always be sure RTL landed by just looking at the action because the feedback is sometimes poor.Number 2 is a problem because:
-The game isn’t showing all numbers / misses / blocks on the screen (nor combat log) and the sound of RTL is louder than block.
-RTL often does a ‘hickup’ lag when it lands. (the thing that also causes you to stand still ) that cuts out part of auto-attack animation.
-The first hit of air auto-attack is very quick.
-Lag can cause a perfectly timed RTL to hit thin air.
-Even when you RTL multiple people and don’t check they might all have blocked it.
They should have trait RTL instead of adding the one with air.
Traited RTL:
Breaks stun / Immunity to immobilize / gives aegis
Dude we all know nerfing RTL was the worse decision Anet made with this game.
The person who made that decision, whoever it is, was surely having a bad day.
Ascended gear is there to stay, I’ve had time to make 4 ascended weapons and I didn’t farm much for it besides doing a few daily boss. Craft it or not it’s your choice. Mostly everyone have trinkets for their main character by now.
Removing something from the game once 75% of the people have it is beyond ridiculous. If you really think that a 6% increase in stats is what is making you die all the time then you should just go craft your own and realize it doesn’t change much. Most of us who made ascended weapons anyway went for celestial, it actually decrease our power but average our builds a little.
Not looking forward to hearing you cry again all over the forum when ascended armors are released.
So your saying disable all the gear I use (which includes 6 ascended trinkets and 4 ascended weapons). Because what, crafting is too complicated for you? What the hell? Get a grip on yourself.
This is a game and you play it how it’s supposed to be played.
Hated the shortbow legendary so I transmuted it to super shortbow. Graphics problem solved and all the goodness of the stats preserved.

That’s like the most ridiculous thing someone can do. Why not just keep your legendary, make an ascended bow and apply a super skin?
yea everyone always wants video proof, but I found this trait incredibly useful since i first started using it and dont see anything better to take over it ….Ill try to make a video, but Ive said that before and never get around to it.
20% damage increase to enemies under 33% health is pretty useful…
Nerfing RTL recharge by 200+% was the biggest mistake they did with the ele class, proof of this is that elementalist are still angry about it months later. They will never admit it, but the new “one with air trait” is a poor attempt at giving back a bit of the mobility they took away from the ele.
There are others mistakes as well to consider, like nerfing mistform and moving stuns-breakers, removing bleeding damage and cripple from earth 4….
Better release it now because the queues are terrible.

Got in WvW, crashed after 10 minutes, had to wait 2h45 to get back in! Crashed again! Turned off my computer in rage.
Well apparently the bugs haven’t been fixed before the start of the first WvW season.
I spent all night in queue yesterday because I crashed to desktop 10 minutes after reset. time, waited 2h45 minutes to get back in, crashed again 15 minutes after and just decided to quit the game. 3 hours wasted waiting.
If it isn’t the DTSbit bug everyone is getting it’s another random packfile bug as in the screenshot.
This is beyond frustrating.
Most commonly used: 0/20/0/20/30
Fresh air build: 0/30/0/20/20
Bunker build: 0/10/0/30/30
What I use at the moment: 10/15/0/15/30 (cantrips give +3 might + 1200 regen and 7sec vigor)

Yeah the problem with these ridiculous amounts of mats required is that I usually decide early on to give up. No way I am farming for thousands of those, it’s just impossible when you have 1-2 hour a day at your disposal to play some game.
The way you are making your game now, you are giving the rewards away to the addicts playing 24/7 and manipulating the market instead of normal people with jobs and other duties.
It’s interesting, but maybe it should have been added to air 15 (with bolt) or the duration should be increased to 5 seconds.
You gave engineers 5 seconds of invisibility but the ele gets 1.5 sec of fast running around in battle. It just seems too little in comparison, and it’s a bit silly considering you just gave 6 seconds + of stacking immobilize to the thief…
Also some ele skills still cannot be used while moving.
I’m just trying to understand what is the idea. Are you expecting us to move faster as we simultaneously aim and cast a static field in a zerg? Perhaps… Or air-att-mist-form runaways?
Thanks a lot for the changes, but in reality it looks like you are very afraid to make any change that are really noticeable as you play and have a new effect.
If you increase the duration it will be worth considering but right now its barely noticeable.

Me and my guildmates do not care at all if SBI goes Gold or Silver. It is of little importance, we will just do our best. The content of the end chest will probably be of small value considering the time invested.
A Guild vs Guild league would have been entirely possible and obviously well balanced, but instead we get this WvW months-long leagues with servers that have different population and interests. It’s hard to understand sometimes what Anet is trying to do.

First thing first, I never said I believed you were using a hack.
But you know what, your right… That seems like the most legit thing to do when you outnumber your enemy 2 to 1, to shoot an arrowcart through the wall by exploiting an engine bug…
As I said, Anet has to fix their engine so that stuff like this doesn’t happen again. I’m not blaming you for these tactics, I’m sure in T1 they are the norm.
That’s the only thing that bothered me about this matchup, and the fact that SoR’s zerg crashes my computer.

Soooo the stream was completely underwhelming as expected, I understand their time is limited so I’m still looking forward to the patch notes, not getting excited though.
Watched it as well and what I found most disturbing was all of the time spent on Ele and Warriors like the other classes A: didn’t have more pressing problems that have needed to be fixed since launch and B: don’t deserve the same amount of care that these two favored classes have had since beta.
Seriously I would hope that in the interest of fairness that next patch they focus mainly on Engineer and Ranger the most. Then the next patch they focus on Thief and Mesmer the most etc so that it’s a balanced approach to them all.
Better be trolling.

RTL recharge increased from 16 sec to 40, mist form now prevent heal and condition removal, our healing was nerfed (now it seems they are realizing this was a huge mistake)… I mean the Ele got the nerf hard. Our class has been literally destroyed over the course of the year. Apparently they want to put it back together with a cheap version of Guard’s line of warding… Meanwhile they give the thief immobilize duration stacks.
And I have a lv 80 thief, but this is just stupid. A thief already destroy players in 1 vs 1. Now they can have them stunned and stuck in one place for 6-7 seconds once their stunbreakers are used. News for you Anet: it only take 3 seconds for a good Thief to destroy an ele, 5-6 seconds if they use mist form an try to jump off a cliff.
I think there is nothing wrong with this.
RTL was really a little to good, and mistform was the only skill that makes you full invulnerable while you can heal or stomp another people. No other class could do this.
And I’m sure the healing nerf, was a result to the bunkerbuilds.
Dude lets say we take your 3 skill on your toolbar and decide it’s going to take 8 initiative instead of 3. This is how bad the RTL nerf was in %. As for healing, they’ve punished everyone for a bunker build only a few played, forcing us to trait even more into water.
Mistform-healing was a class mechanic. They broke that mechanic we were all used to.
For weeks I was still bashing the keys by habit as nothing happened.
It would be the equivalent of making your backstab not work for 3 seconds after stealing. It would break all your builds that use steal at 1200 range to backstab (and stealth on steal).
I could say it was overpowered in the first place and didn’t go with the thief philosophy, but you would still lose a mechanic you loved if that was what you played for 5 months.
SBI, way to pull us out of our fight with SoR with a ham-fisted attempt on our garri, and you just ended up giving it to SoR anyway.
Only the lag from the SoR guys on the gate prevented you from getting wiped within seconds.I’m trying hard to respect you guys; I don’t know if it’s your transfers, or you read FA’s WvW manual, or what.
TL;DR Playing for second is for losers.
Dude, we were going for you garrison before we even knew SoR was there. We broke in the outer, and got to the inner gates before we knew they were there. We wanted your garrison, cause we want to get 2nd place in this match up. It is nothing personal, we weren’t trying to screw you against SoR, we were trying to beat you and SoR. It just so happens they beat all of us. Was an awesome battle though.
So the orange swords up at NW tower for almost an hour straight didn’t clue you in that SoR/SoS shenanigans were not afoot?
Look, I know a lot of the old SBI crew, along with some of the classier transfers over there are playing things straight. However, the fact is that a lot of people moved to SBI in order to be at the top of Silver League (either the original one, or the latest incarnation).
People who like easier fights….people who would go after the number 2 server rather than face a challenge.Get where I’m going? We have screenshots and these people are on your server. I hope it’s a minority, but no one respects the guys who toady up to the stronger server.
I respect that you want to have some fights with us, but SoR isn’t going to let that happen. We haven’t had a single zerg clash with you guys this entire match where “INC SoR” wasn’t spammed before the last guy was spiked.
We’ve repeatedly suggested a 2v1 and the answer is your guys permanently bivouacked in Ogreswatch 12 hours a day.
And to address your point, you get more points by reducing SoR’s. Reducing our ppt has miniscule effect on yours while taking from SoRs will increase your rating by a lot.
Get a grip it’s just a freaking game, we tried SoR for 2 hours before coming to your BL. They had like 5 times our numbers.
So we came to your BL for a fair fight, we just want to have fun, kitten the score.
Then your garrison served as a battleground when the SoR zombies horde arrived, end of story.

Yeah and thank god warriors are nerfed. You cannot imagine how it almost made us break our keyboard, when you play an ele with 16k health and have skills that take 3 seconds to cast, and a warrior with 32k health (totally OP already) just stun-immobilize you and bash you dead in 3-4 hits as you cant even do anything. Where was the fun in that?
Thing is, eles are getting nerfed as well with the new AoE mechanic. Thats a 10-20% damage reduction on AoE right there.
yeah just made 60 bricks… was almost 5-6g to get the termocatalystic-whatever agents.
