We once sat in west keep on FA BL and despite outnumbering us, they refused to take it back just because we were in there. We took the fight to their Garrison and they still refused to come out. It has nothing to do with winning or losing, it’s about finding good fights.

This is the best way to troll Mag. If they take a keep of yours, just let them sit in there. They will more often than not just leave after a while, and you know it worked because they come onto the forum to moan about it.

Also, you just described Mesmers, D/D Eles, the old BM Rangers, etc. Strong 1v1 builds/classes. Surprise, these beat 1) bad players and 2) players not running 1v1 builds.

QQ like this is what resulted in the Confusion nerf, the Retaliation nerf, the creation of anti-Stealth traps, etc. Maybe one day people will stop whining that their terrible build or keyboard-turning/skill-mouse-clicking isn’t enough to beat good 1v1 players running 1v1 builds.

I’m new to tPvP so I’ve only experienced 4v5 once (on the receiving end) and I can honestly say it did give me a pretty negative opinion of solo-queueing. I won’t stop solo-queueing from one bad experience, but I can see how one would throw in the towel after this happening multiple times.

I understand there may not be much ANet can do about someone who AFKs after a match has begun. But it does shock me that matches are allowed to start when there are only 4 people in the zone.

That’s because most players are bad. Or rather, most players are average (bell curve) so to truly good/great players, almost all players are going to be bad in comparison.

Couple that with the fact that many WvW players do not build/equip themselves for 1v1 but rather for ZvZ. They also spend most of their playtime in zergs further hindering 1v1 skill development.

Add all this up and you get an environment where almost all encounters will have a 1v1-centric player destroying their opponent (except for the semi-uncommon occasions where two strong 1v1ers meet).

Please bear with this sPvP/tPvP newb; I’ve been a heavy WvWer since launch who spends my time 75% solo roaming, 15% duo roaming, 10% zerging. The only time I’ve spent in sPvP prior to this was screwing around at launch and then in March for the bugged double monthly reward. I have watched tons of Teldo/TP/etc videos so I have a pretty good grasp on how tPvP should be played.

I jumped into solo queue tPvP last week. I was rank 6 when I started last week and I’m now rank 9. I have been frequently achieving 1st or 2nd place in points on my team, sometimes 3rd, 4th once (I think), and never 5th (yet). This is in matches where there are often no other players lower than rank 30.

My question is: generally speaking, how useful are the final individual scores when it comes to gauging how much someone contributed to their team’s effort? Is coming in 1st/2nd telling me that I’m doing something right? Is score heavily biased in favor of roamers (the role I’ve been filling) due to boss kills/ganks? Is score almost meaningless?

That said, I don’t even remember the last time I ordered a camp upgrade, so I have no idea if this affects supply post-flip.
