I mean most of the specs they run they have no healing power, and then they complain about lack of sustain in a fight..Like right now they’re like “Our heals are awful, give us more” when they actually already had very good heals, Problem is none of them want to actually run any healing gear like Rangers…so they whined till they increased their healing even more.
Now with healing gear you’re looking at 1k a second almost regen…….which is way more then ours..
Hell they’re even complaining right now that Adrenal Heal isn’t that good and it should be improved, Despite it being comparable to Natural Healing only free for 15 points.
Dueled some warrior yesterday a bunch of times, He tried multiple builds including the Skull Crack one
lets just say it didn’t go well for him.

While my Technobabble build I run in WvW isn’t completely great for taking out Necro’s (I can do it, but its tough, really need to swap Signet of the Hunt with SoR) Its very easy to see how good Daze/Stun Builds can hurt them.
Like I said before, if you want to use Shortbow and want to kill people incredibly fast who are occupied with others, go Rampager and equip as many bleed things as you can.
You can stack 25 stacks of bleeds on someone in an absurd amount of time, less then 10 seconds.
I just now got around to getting my full ascended for apothecary (just needed the trinkets which i finally just bought)

The elementalists downed state is terrible. Vapor Form is next to useless in WvW/PvP, and Grasping Earth is an absolutely terrible channeled skill that takes so long to cool down and cast it might as well just be an empty slot for all the good it does anyone.

ESO is in very very closed beta. DaoC? No sorry not again. And thats it. No other games I know and i cant find any.
Oh forgot TSW with Fusang. Even worse than GW2I know someone who did the ESO Beta. The game itself is suffering from multiple personality syndrome because it wants to have the complexity of an Elder Scrolls game with the multiple player element of a MMO.
BTW, if you didn’t know; it’s also not being made by Bethesda but by a company that has Nolan Ryan on it’s board of directors.

All ESO has to do is not have a Downed System, and it’ll be 10x better then GW2

Yea we read it, But if you think anyone is going to take seriously an “Esport” where a company changes the rules mid tournament to benefit a certain team you’re sorely mistaken.
not that Guild Wars 2 will ever be an Esport, being that SPVP is a giant bag of suck in the first place.
While I don’t think CC should whine about losing, I do think it looks bad on the part Anet for the event people to completely change the rules mid tournament like that.

Ranger cry because we have few aoe skills. Then you cry becuase there is a counter to aoe skills. We have 1 maybe two aoe skill(s). There is nothing wrong with retaliation. The idea that a single player can hit a group of players with one skill and another player can punish or protect you for doing so is balanced.
Other classes have far more aoe skills. Big damage has risks. You rolled your dice accept the outcome fate has given you.
This isn’t a L2P issue this is accept the consiquences of your actions issue. I take that back it is also a L2p issue you can negate all the damage from retaliation If its that big of a deal.
No one has a problem with Retal on single targets, But if you think this game needs more hand outs for large zergs you’re kidding yourself. They’ve already dumbed the game down enough, Rewarding Zergs stacking on top of one another to give everyone a bloody damage shield with no ICD is just silly..Not Down System silly, but still proves why this game will not be taken seriously by most good pvpers
Again, you’re trying to beat Rock with Scissors there. The elaboration about how Scissors gets utterly demolished by Rock is not the most compelling of arguments. This reminds me of those Rangers and Thieves unloading all their projectiles into Walls of Reflection and Feedbacks then complaining about how those reflect skills are so imba because they always result in that player’s death.
The entire point of retaliation, is to punish volume of attacks, and it does this very well. The problem is that some classes don’t necessarily have easy access to hard hitting attacks that aren’t multi hit attacks. Basically a Ranger fighting at range only has Scissors to fight against Rock. You shouldn’t be calling for Rock to be nerfed, you should be asking for more options of bringing your own Paper to the challenge. Alternatively just bring Paper next time when you know your opponent is going to be playing Rock again.
tl;dr: Retaliation doesn’t need a nerf, but Rangers could certainty use buffs and more options.
If I see a Wall of Reflection, I can stop attacking mid way, If I cast barrage, I don’t know they have retal I’ve already started casting it, Even then…We’re talking about an ability that punishes AOE damage in a game where Zergs are absolutely overpowered, and way to rewarded as it is…The one thing that counters Zergs is mass AOE, something this game doesn’t seem to like so the mouth breather’s can feel good about themselves rolling over smaller numbers.

In my opinion its fair send them the Tickets. But i never will get confirm with their abuse play. But this happens to you cc guys also. Hard prefered of anets brainless patching.

It was possible since the beginning of the game to run this type of spec in SPvP as the amulet existed, It wasn’t possible in WvW as the armor wasn’t added later on.
But Anet didn’t “add” anything…
They’ve only made that spec weaker over time.
Infact spirit ranger was RIDICOLOUS in beta, when GS also had very strong damage and ranger had easy acces to quickness ( lol at 1 quickness GS spam killing whole teams LOLOLOL).
They just re-made some traits, any theorycrafter would came up with such build.

The Rallying System, and the Down System in general is just awful… It supports massive Zerg Ball Tactics and hurts small man game play.
I mean, its ok for PVE, cause I get what they were trying to do, remove the trinity and you needed a resser (Though must better ways could of been done to fix this problem)
However for Mass Scale PvP, it is honestly the worst system i’ve seen in an MMO to date for PvP… and i’ve been playing MMO’s since UO….
I use to rate the Collision system in Warhammer pretty lowly for friendlies (For enemies I had no problem with it, but for friendlies, I always had some fat Orc behind me blocking me while i was trying to kite on my Squig Herder) but the down system in this game though….Good Lord..
No. Instead they should remove ac from the wvw siege. Ac is for p***y and cowards that hide behind the walls instead confront like real men.

Ignoring this guy and his hilarious idea on what “real men” are… Its not that you’re not getting the kills cause Arrow cart is weak, you’re not getting the kills because the Down System is so powerful for people…When you can down someone, and they’re instantly ressed by 2 people something is wrong..It supports mass blobbing of bads like this.

If your talking about large scale combat, then bring large scale combat tactics to counter them. Mesmers and Necromancers can easily strip all those boons. They are using teamwork to produce these AoE Retaliation with high uptime, try using teamwork to negate that AoE Retaliation.
If you insist on using scissors when you already know your opponent is going to use rock, then you deserve to lose, and no one cares about your whining that rock in imba because scissors can’t beat it. There are people from pretty much every class that whine about how their spammy attacks get countered by Retaliation. Deal with it.
Rofl, there is absolutely zero way you to strip that many boons off that many people and actually get Retal.
Guardians basically fart out Retal, with little to no problem doing it.
Anyone with any sense of balance would be able to tell you that Retal being AOE in this game is just stupid an unbalanced. Ignoring the issues of Rangers, it makes Large Numbers stronger then Smaller Number, which seems to be a theme of what Anet is going for….Which is why WvW is so bloody awful in general in this game in comparison to previous games that didn’t overreward the zerg like Anet has.
GW2 will go down as a prime example of how you never should handle Massive Scale PvP, Anyone who gave Warhammer Online crap for their 2 way system should be heaping praise on it now if they play GW2..Cause GW2 WvW is just awful.
Yeap, Hunter’s Call requiring LoS after being cast completely makes no sense, Since its already been casted, and isn’t an actual Channel Attack.
Retal should be single target in the first place, its designed to Help zergs stack and counter their one Counter…which is bad for any type of Mass PvP game.
I actually killed a Necro with it, and Engineer..Ele’es the only one I fought solo ran the second I stacked 25 bleeds at the start of the fight (and I had an Add I had to switch to otherwise I would die)
By surprise I’m sure. Anyone who picks up on the pattern of the stacking can mitigate it easily or transfer it back at you.
It’s sort of like S/D thief, at first they destroyed because people weren’t adjusted to the build and then some builds started popping out to counter it.
Have you tried testing against Itkoviana or Amadeus? Good engineers are hard to come by.
Oh I have no doubt they’d pick up on it and switch to the Signet to transfer it back to me.

I have a Necro, and a Thief….I even have videos to prove it
If you think a Necro comes anywhere near a Thief in terms of tagging people (Note I said tagging, Not actually being amazing at zerging, a thief is no where near in that regard to a Necro and Guardian) but Tagging a Thief has no equal.
You can lay out a massive area over and over again hitting ANYONE who runs through it… and once they’re hit and take damage, they’ve been tagged..
Think a Plague Form you can use whenever you want with no cooldown.
Lol, I took my Rampager Build underwater for something similar, people swimming above I’d have Devourer stun them, and then completely unload with 20 stacks of bleeds and everything, soon as they dived I switched to Shark to Fear them and finish them off.

The new issue is just the keeps themselves, they have invisible holes in them or something.

I had a chance to test this tonight and yesterday, and it is very cheeserific
A lot of people simply couldn’t react fast enough before the 25 stacks were on them.
all it took was interrupting with Bow Knockback and they were dead.
Few Thieves tried stealthing but died right after cause they were already screwed.
I was also running Spiders, which was honestly the best time to do it, if they ate the immobilize they ate pretty much the full chain.
I was using my rabid axe/horn with the setup, so I need to get a Rampager Version.
I still say daze, so 1 handed weapons have a chance to get something out of Moment of Clarity.
I’m going to try my rampager build tomorrow with Axe/Horn instead of Shortbow.
Then it has changed, or it works that way in SPVP only.
I’ll sign on and test it in PVE again.
Its been changed alright, its now working in PVE.
That makes me wonder if that’s what has caused the uptick in Spirit Ranger complaints, so a little over a month ago, it wasn’t going off twice like that.

Last I checked, if your pet dies and your abilities from the spirits were still on cooldown (having used them) they didn’t go off a second time.
All the on death trait does for Spirits is insure you use the abilities automatically if you haven’t already used them.
So there is no real way to pop someone with the Call of Lightning, then have the pet die right afterward and pop it again.
Now I haven’t tested it since last patch, so maybe they changed it, but before the recent patch I tested it and that’s how it worked in PVE.
It honestly doesn’t matter really on your pet, if you time it right you get the 7 stacks of might which is nice.
So Drakes probably are the best pet, at least in PVE they are.
As for Sword in 1v1, I agree on that Forzani, I would always use it in 1v1, but whenever I zerg with this build I get super annoyed switching out of Axe cause of how nasty Axe is, Think i’ll just take off sword when zerging.
I actually instantly stacked 25 stacks of Bleeds on someone yesterday I pop Hunter’s Call on them and time I ran over and pop them with Split Blade he had 25 stacks.
I’m debating how Sword/Torch right now, I’m actually liking Axe main hand to much, i’m still thinking about just removing the Sword main hand when running with a zerg, that way I can weapon swap and still keep Axe Main hand on both offhands.
Bleed/Crit builds are nothing new, but today I was testing something using the new Rapid Fire, and it wasn’t too bad. The RF channel ended with 22 stacks of Vulnerability and 18 stacks of Bleed on the target…a stationary target mind you, but still, not too shabby. You can see the build details and the actual test here.
I’m curious to see what other things people are doing to take advantage of the modified nature of Rapid Fire. I know many people feel the old method of a one-shot delivery of 10 stacks was preferable, but I’d like to see how people are taking advantage of it as it is…

People…If you’re serious about PVE, please note that unless you’re doing speed runs (which you wouldn’t be using longbow anyway) this will not cause you any pain, Because the content in this game is so easy to do anyway you could be running chop sticks and still accomplish it.
Having tried both, I prefer Spike Trap just for the Root.
I wish I had fraps back in the day, I would have a hilarious fight recorded with my friend fighting a 6 man guild group in Reikland, Kept knocking people off the side of the cliff into the Water and we slowly killed them that way…I wish i had that fight recorded.

So I think I have a good handle on Soloing in both games, and while its incredibly easy to fight 1v1 in pvp on a Bunker Ranger, that’s not where the skill comes from, the skill comes from fighting more than 1 and winning, I don’t win all those fights… But I enjoy those fights never the less.
I war referring to WAR, but same point. I roamed on a Shadow Warrior. A class considered a wasted slot util they made it overpowered in 2012.

I considered both (SH and SW) to be very strong roamers and also played skirmish/assault and after 2011 late patches skirmish/scout. I loved to roam with it. I did almost 100% solo from 0 to 100 :-). Yea, BG were nasty, but they would not cath you with odjira and QE

While you bring less to groups than other classes on a thief, Necro honestly is the best zerg class in the game if your goal is to get tons of kills and and bags.

Kidding, both are really great for that if thief is traited for initregen and wearing PVT he can clusterbomb his way through every zerg

I actually think Necro is not as good for zerging as a Thief is, I think Necro’s contribute more to the fight then a Thief…but if your goal is to get bags and kills, Thief has no equal because of Choking Gas on Shortbow…Remember, the goal on getting kills/bags is not actually killing people, Its hitting as many people as possible.
To which the Thief has no Equal.
Odjira, don’t get me started on that god awful gem.
That was the biggest load of crap they added to that game, It made Kiting Classes like the SH/SW incredibly screwed over by things like Ironbreaker and Chosen.
I’d be playing my SH and i’d hit an Ironbreaker and he’s zoom over and kill me in like 3 seconds.
I took my SH to RR80 (level 1-40 completely via pvp, no PVE done on my SH)
I forget how I lvled my SW, I think it did it the same way….

Thief Small scale is only hard if you make it hard for you, having both a Thief and a Ranger I find the Thief to be better at escaping fights, and often winning them faster then a BM Bunker Ranger.
Granted I realized long ago that if you want to be successful at small scale pvp, Healing Power is required.

Pain Inverter and Technobabble…Both were/our incredibly powerful abilities for a Ranger.
Both require Asura, and I wouldn’t have it any other way, I love builds that use things like this…Dumbing down the game to SPvP level is not what I call a good thing.

To many other needed Talents in the line to use remorseless
Just got to say, Hunter’s Call has pretty much always been that powerful with its ability to apply lots of bleeds if you have the right traits (Sharpened Edges), gear (I recommend Rampager’s or Rabid though there are strengths and weaknesses in both sets of stats), and sigils (Earth). You should also use consumables that extend the duration of your condition damage. There is absolutely nothing new about this.
Also, Other useful skills with a sigil of Earth and Sharpened Edges is Rapid Fire, Barrage, or Whirling Defense. Barrage is by far the best skill to use with it….but Whirling Defense might be better now with the update though because of that Retaliation.
Yea before though I didn’t think it was worth it with just Hunter’s Call, now with a Blast finisher though it instantly shoots it over Dagger in my opinion for the setup.
Barrage though is amazing with a similar setup, and If you watch my Twitch Channel I actually run a Longbow/SB Rampager setup doing this.
Mainly for zerging, but Traps is pretty hilarious as well.
I honestly think Traps is probably better, 1k burn tics cause you got 25 stacks of might is just hilarious
