How much? Now really – I wanna know! It’s definitly lower than a engineer and even less compared to the necro. Beside that – they both also are stronger zerkers, engi even with bombs. Necro is pretty ok, he deals damage, heals a bit, nothing to complain about. Engi in my option is underrated by far, the damage is awesome in general, pretty ok in single target, nr1 in aoe. And passive damage – yes yes yes
Yea and that’s what a guard is about, right? Those “how fast do you kill XY” are kinda cute – especially if a class is skilling burst like, and not what they usually do. But it’s allways the question: what do we wan’t to show here? If you would add the passive damage of TW to the mesmer he’d be first for sure, aswell the engi would be first if there would be 5 targets. But those clips are showing perfectly how balanced GW2 actually is. I guess just because most players are warriors makes them or even everyone beleve that they deal the best damage overall. Especially after one has seen 100b. So yes – I beleve the class damage is pretty balanced.
Guard is using racial skill → not “allowed” to show the strengh of a class.
Mesmer Warden bugged → Pistol and he’s faster too.

Conditions are anyway “weak” compared to direct damage. You can remove 20 stacks bleeding with one cleanse, there are even sigils that will snowball conditions.
In PvP and WvW they are balanced but PvE totally up. I see no reason to nerf them.
It would make them useful, you don’t have to loot anymore Why not? I demand a toggle however (turn loot mode on/off)
In all honesty, it’s only the people on the forums and in map chat that I’ve come across that say these classes are worthless if they don’t run certain builds, etc. If I had been kicked from guilds / groups on these characters or not allowed to participate in all content, I would believe what’s going around.
It’s more the people on the forums and map chat that say that a profession “sux”. If I have a ranger in my group and I won’t kick him, maybe he’s ok? And if he fails and I see it, I just look over it. But for myself I think “oh god why -.-”. And I guess in dungeons when you already got those professions in your group, players just think it. :/

Those sometimes cute, sometimes cool little creatures you can just summon and let them walk next to you. Wazzup with those? Why do they exist? Just for decoration? At the moment – yes. But I would enjoy a small change!
First of all – they should be summoned once and stay outside, they should not disappear or simply resummon themselves automaticly when entering a new map.

Also it’s just fairness. If you got 2 different char types, “A” deals 5k with a direct hit, and “B” does 5k bleed with 5 stacks over 7 sec (~2100 con damage). Now if there is a necro with 30k HP, he gets hit once from 6 A-type-players → he’s dead now. If he get’kitten by 6 B-type-players → he will survive with 5k HP after those 7 sec cuz of 25 max stacks at the same time. And that’s broken, he should be dead aswell.
Guardian is easier and fun to play (IME GW2’s “easy mode”),
Guardian is easy if you go full tank or support (as easy as useless), but if you pick zerk gear and offensive trait it’s definitely not “easy mode”.

It seems like you only got your Guard at lv80 and therefore such a comment is clear. I don’t want to insult you, but saying “my class is not easier than others” is kinda weird if you have no other class played at a high lv.
For myself I’ve got a Mesmer main, Engi alt and a Necro, all lv80. I know how strong and how difficult they are in PvE. But My Guard lv22 tells me nothing right now. But first my Warrior gets up to 80
Wanna add that racial skills are not allowed, like the guard did. You’ll never use them and they are not representing the guard itself.
Every damage modifier is multiplicative. That’s the reason why mesmer deal relativly low damage – they don’t have many of them at the same time. Only phantasm for 32.25% and ourselves for 0%-26.44% (16% mantra, 9% illusions). Adding sigil of the night would grant us additional 12.644% instead of 10%. But ye – phantasms get easy more stuff so …
As I say – there is no need for a bleeding cap, since it’s just damage.
Probably because guards are just easier to play, or better – you don’t have to do that much to be effective. It’s just when you see 19/20 rangers never use a melee weapon and 9/10 staying outside of your TW … you just get that impression :/
It’s actually 1.15^2 = 1.3225 -> +32.25% Phantasm damage. That’s why you allways should aim for both +15% so you get more % because of ... well ... math

Well the necro is the least bad condition class for pve. Better try him.
The mesmer got so much survivability, you got permavigor (dodge), got plenty of blocks, blurred frenzy and F4. You often can evade every attack unless it’s a mob spawner or enrages, but that happens only to orr in general. Also in dungeons / fotm your maties want to kill enemies fast since they aren’t tanky and a dead enemy won’t deal any damage anymore. Sure you may not have any probelms with your build, but you could kill the enemy twice as fast with almost 0 risk with a bit skill.
Condition damage in PvE is important, however increasing it is bad compared to power.
It should stay 20 sec open, maybe traited, maybe pve only, what’d ya say?
If portals worked in the way it showed in the mesmer preview, then maybe…jumping back and forth between two points and never being caught, would be kinda fun.

Before the nerf my build was 0/20/20/10/20. After the nerf it was 0/20/20/0/30. I’m a condition/tanky mesmer.
I just changed it back to the former build. It’s nice to have my old build back.
Do you play WvW, PvP or PvE?
Not to be able to destroy structures as a conditiondealer is acceptable, however it could be fixed as I said before.
I guess making bleeding work on constructs makes no sense aslong as they aren’t alive like tequatl or such bosses. Maybe condition damage should act like 50% power while attacking a construct. So if one has 2500 power and 0 con damage he deals with his 2500 power. If a condition player has 1500 power and 2000 con damage he “gains” +1000 power while attacking a structure.
But the stack-overwriting is the main reason why bleeding is kaputt. Conditiondealers suffer at bleeding and / or confusion damage in PvE and it’s hard to fix that it seems. :/ I really hate it for example to have a condition necro in my party, however I’m not angry, I feel sad for him o.O

You can AoE stack 20 bleeds? In fotm for example? What then? The rest of the party uses their normal attacks and stacking together 20 stacks of bleed too, what happens? I guess you know what I mean…
Bleed is totally broken … 25 Stacks are way too low for that bleed isn’t even dealing more damage than a direct hit. Bleed is actually a direct hit over time that gets destroyed by your allies and this is just wrong.
I hear many ppl shout “but you deal damage without even attacking” or “image 100 stacks bleeding on a boss / player, that’d be op!”… No you won’t deal damage if you won’t reapply new bleeding and 100 stacks bleeding is as deadly as 4 warriors casting 100b on you.
The bleeding cap makes no sense at all, all other conditions do but bleeding? no… It’s such a failure of ANet that makes con. damage unaviable in PvE and WvW Zerg. Even Necros are just worse with con. damage than with power. It’s sad but true, bleeding requires a fix.

That ‘meta’ build is almost certainly inferior to 0/30/0/25/15 now. Trading Empowered Illusions for both Phantasmal Strength and Illusionist’s Celerity is a no-brainer. You still get 15% damage for your phantasms, and now you get cd reduction for them as well.
Well you lose 100 power with that build. Also during most fight I can have at least 2 phantasm up so the IC is quite useless for me
100 power is about 4% damage for you and your phantasms. I’d really like to spend another 4% damage for 20% cdr on 30% of our skills :P However I cannot understand anymore why to trait for 30 in duelling instead of +17.25% phantasmal damage. You can trait your pistol OR go for mantra damage. However since we now got that spawn-an-army signet aswell you will allways have 1 utility slot filled with not a mantra, you will have about 2 mantras in general and only IF they are charged you recive the 8% damage. 8% damage for me or 17.25 for my phantasms aswell a useful passive. Easy desicion tbh.

Well GS 2 and 3 won’t suck too, especially against dredges (3) aswell 5 for stack and interrupt their buffing. The only reasony why the GS sux is the AA, it’s not worth picking it just for the zerker alone.
It’s funny how the bugs the mesmer has affects the traits so heavy… actually … no it’s not even funny anymore.

Mainly go Sword/Focus and Sword/Sword. If no reflection is required switch the focus with the pistol for highest damage. Try not to run GS unless there are trashmobs. If you require range badly, better take a scepter (mossman for example for the additional block) or a staff (imbued shaman for dodging his projectile and lure it to your 2 skill). Those are just examples. Just keep all weapons in your inventory.

Well it’s a pain in the kitten to craft a heavy ascended armor – however I already own the full materials for my ascended armor (except daylies and dragonit ore ofc >_>)

My only issue with 30/30/0/0/10 and.full mantras I feel like a snail. I also think that we sacrifice to much dps if we take travelers or centaur runes. To finsh my venting, it is not fair that we are force to go mantras in order to get damage modifirts
Don’t go travelers in pve. It’s just an expensive WvW rune.

That’s exactly what I wanted to to Nretep, but due PH I’m 10/20/0/25/15 atm, trying to be able to keep my utility with just 2 inspiration skills :s
yeah wanna try it if its still bugged. But it works for warden and warlock, the setup i run atm. On top of that blade training and Duelists is kind of meh to with IC because the cd Reduction for the illusions don’t stack.
I tested yesterday all the phantasms and iSwordman, iBerserker, iMariner aswell our loved iWarden are all bugged. Only iDuellist and iWarlock can make use of this trait. Throw it away and hell – 20 in duelling is a must have!!!

Well I use everything depending on the situation, so I use pistol aswell, however trating it is not worth it since it gives you just a low benefit compared to +17.25% damage for all phantasms imo

I’ve never traited too deep into illusions because I felt like the traits were useless – and until yesterday (15) I was kinda right. I was happy to finally get a bit down there, I wanted to go 0/20/0/30/20, but .. Well ya know.
It doesnt affect our best and most important phantasms … It’s f***ing annying thb. Duellist and iWarlock are the only useful phantasms that can make us of this trait. Really?
This bug exists since release it finally needs a fix! It’s like a warrior has a trait that says “increases your damage by 20%” but does only work with bow and rifle -.-’’

Warden does work I tought? It was just incredible low since he attacks 6 sec and has 8 cd → he attacks 6 sec and has 6.4 sec cd → 12.6 instead of 14 is barely noticeable.
But yea traiting for PH is just a waste – that’s why I just wen’t to 15.
10/20/0/25/15 or 0/30/0/25/15 or still the old one’s 10/30/0/30/0 or 20/20/0/30/0.
