Yea I was disappointed too. The weapon and armor designer of the game are terrible, REALLY TERRIBLE. They are unable to create cool weapons or armor sets, just once every 10 pieces is a “ok” one and 1 of 100 is a WOW one.
They should fire them all and ask random gamers about weapons >_> It’s terrible to see all those “reskins” wich are probably made within an afternoon …
That’s what I guess too. The “clones getting destroyed and cuase ouchies” thing seems to be abused in their eyes. It seems that the enemy should suffer if he hits the wrong mesmer, not if we destroy them by overwrting them. However the effects seem to be too weak for that.
Well this is almost the top of the top. 8k bombs means 25 stacks might, 25 stacks vulnerability, a light armored enemy aswell bufffood and 25 stacks bloodlust. I guess that would result in even a bit more, I guess its about 15-20 stacks of what I just mentioned.
Unbuffed bombs will crit for about 3.5k. With maties in general 4-6k.
How is a mesmer a condi spammer? o.O Even engy is more a condi spammer than the Mesi
In general i’d like to have as many different classes as possible in serious content. As long as they know what they are doing :P I’ve seen plenty of engis just spam grenades only, p/p or flamethrower only. I do understand if ppl in general don’t like to have an engy. It’s like with rangers – 99% of them are unexpirienced.

Full zerk awesome situation iWarlock crits hit for 25k at Dwayna here. But in general phantasms hit about 8-10k, it’s more you would ever achieve with condis.
150 Precision equals approximately 6.5% crit chance. Phantasmal Fury is a must have trait

Runes will no longer work that good after patch. They want to prevent the usage of different runesets.

Well I wouldn’t say it messes up the rota much. Fire bomb has just 10 sec CD too. However, it’s just theory. We have to evade, we sometimes miss our CDs and we will allways have some deathtime where were we are waiting a few sec for another CD. I also agree the guard is also able to buy such boon dura. I still see the guard and the engi pretty equal in terms of efficiency of might stacking, just defending the Engi here not to be told to be useless in might stacking.
About the fire field and light field for retaliation thing. There is no possibility to “overwrite” a field. You will allways be using the field as finisher in wich you have stepped into first. Not to be confused with the field that has been laid activated first! If you wan’t I can show you this ingame → but I’m EU :s

“Other classes can do the same thing with a single skill” is clearly a sign of lazyness. The combination is what the engi makes himself unique. Sure a guard can “easier” stack might. Sure a thief can “easier” create a long lasting stealth. Sure a mesmer can clean conditions better and more often. But the point is: The engi can do everything of this. Not to mention the insane AoE and vulnerability… if we talk about usefulness in a team…

I beleve that’s true for WvW, however in PvE 2 sec stealth are nothing, especially compared to the 3-12 sec the engi grants.

Dungeons:
Trashmobs: Sword / Pistol + Shortbow
Bossfight / Single enemy: Dagger / Dagger + Pistol / Pistol
There is a solution its called equipment box. It still requires little management but its far less painful than searching your inventory for item. And if you have to find it quick there is a search function for inventory.
Equipment box? You mean that box that gets filled with equipment too? O.o Or what did I miss? I can’t see a solution in there :s
I mostly switch weapons with the inventory, so if I switch out 2 1h weapons for a 2h weapon, I can see where the off hand weapon goes and just put it back in the invis box.
And that’s the annoying part.
The title says it all I think. I always hated on Rangers. They annoy me in dungeons. They stay outside of TW with bearbow tactics, they barely deal damage, they grant 0 support, they are just … present.
I won’t believe that this is everything a ranger can do. I’ve heared they can rock with some traits (+150 Precision for everyone?) or Spirits (Frost) and even outdamage many other classes (melee?). So I want to give it a try myself. I want to be a ranger that is useful for the party and not just for himself. I want to be a ranger that deals damage and everyone is glad to be with.
So what do I have to do? What I know so far is to trait for that +150 prec.
As pets? Spider? Cheetah? Or a fat lizard? Shark? Jelly?
As weapons? Sword + Horn? GS? SB?
I would like to recive some answers from skilled rangers, useful rangers, team rangers.

You realize that Big’Ol’Bom -> Fire Bomb -> Heal Turret -> Shield 4 -> F1 -> Elixier Gun 4 grants 12 stacks permamight?
Very good example: while an Engineer needs combofields, special utilities and 5+ buttons, a Guard gets 12 stacks of Aoe-might with 1 button-press on a simple weapon-skill + heal on top of it.
This class is so much less efficient than specialized classes when it comes to support, it´s laughable.
The guard presses one button and charges over 2-3 sec for 12 stacks of might for 10 sec.
The engi presses many buttons in a hase over 2-3 sec for 12 stacks of might for 25 sec.
Both got ~20-25 sec cd. Spot the difference. (Also engi deals damage during this time)
But what happens when you replace the fire bomb in that sequence with HT overcharge or smoke bomb?
If you replace the fire bomb with a HT overcharge or a well times toolbelt skill of the HT you heal for ~6-8k AoE.
If you replace it with a smoke bomb everyone gains 12 sec invisibility.

Greetings everyone. I want to discuss about a topic that defenitly everyone of us has bothered.
Image the following situation: You wear 2x 1h weapon and 1x 2h weapon. You got plenty of weapons in your inventory, normally in an invisible bag. Now you get to a content where you have to switch your weapons, well, now I use 2x 1h weapons and 2x 1h weapons.
What just happened? Right! There is now an empty slot in the inventory invisible bag. But what does it mean? I kill a few mobs with that setup and now I look another weapon. Oh content changes again? Lets swap again to 2x 1h and 1x 2h… Where did my offhand weapon go!? Somewhere in another bag of course!
I think it’s terribly annoying that you can’t change your weapons easily. I sometimes use 2 weapons, sometimes I use even 4! The empty inventory slots getting filled with junk and annoy me if I want to change my weapons agin!
Solution 1:
Let us lock a weapon to an inventory slot. This slot gets blocked as long as the weapon is in our possesion (equiped / inventory). This prevents that new junk will fill up the slots.
Solution 2:
Simly let the invisible bag just fill up with soulbound stuff. This way the loot will fill up in other bags first. If everything else is full, they take that space too ofc. This will also prevent junk to fill up the spaces.
Has anyone else too those problems? I suffer with my Mesmer, my Thief, even my Engi … What do you think???

are annoyed by grenades. And sometimes even C) they know what to do, but forget about their skills and just keep spamming a skill.
Seriously I rarely see a random engi use his fields, spreading heal and 15 stacks might. I know just one engi that does that – a friend of mine. But randoms? No, just annoying dps suckers with rifle and elixiers or dual pistol condition fuzzies …
You realize Elixirs are one of the best might stacking tools in an Engin’s kitten nal right? They aslo grant boons + might to allies.

all the time ppls want zerker on team and dont want to play with bunker or cond spammer, but when they die fast complain engy who dont spam heal on the feet
in fotm and some dungeon i play engy bunker for other i play mesmer (or if i see other engy in team)

Agree with fun > everything. However doin’ semigood stuff at harder content like fotm 30-50 for example = slow ks = party death and this isn’t fun. Not for you, neither for your maties. If it is fun for you to attack enemies with pistol 1 continuously, then do it. But not at fotm 30-50.

Well phantasms however gain more damage from more power on the mesmer wich means might will affect them.
Sigil of Battle for example grants 6 stacks of might permanently. That’s 210 power. A Mesmer has~ 2000-2500 power, depending on bloodlust and skills and runes etc. In the worst case you have 19 stacks of might already wich goes to about 3000 power. So having 6 additional stacks of might means at 2000-3000 power and additional 7-10.5% damage.
Since we anyway have to swap for phant cd’s. It’s by far the best sigil damage wise (unless you got 20+ stacks might al lthe time, but that’s not the case imo).
Also you can use sigils like geomancy, hydromancy, energy or maybe even heal on hit (?) etc. Many sigils getting changed soon, so on crit sigils will seperated into on crit and on hit aswell they will now work together with swap and other on crit / hit sigils.
Sigils are no longer gonna share cds. So I guess we really aren’t in trouble. However it would be nice to share +5% damage with the phants tough.
Yes you’re right. The condispam was mentioned too, forgot about that. But it seems like a fix for PvE wich isn’t really the reason to balance the scepter (not overwriting phantasms). Strange

I see where this is going to. They once mentioned that they will rework the scepter aa since it feels terrible atm. They are slowly taking away the condition part of the traits combined with this aa. I guess this ends like:

I mainly play PvE and play Engineer for a long time now, so lets get startet:
Grenades are together with bombs the god tier in terms of dps and condispam. The main weapons of engineers are pretty weak due the fact we got kits that replace our auto attack. Pistol / Pistol isn’t really viable in PvE since skill 4 and 5 grant minor adventage over another bomb or grenade skill. Pistol / Shield is the best solution atm. You will be using Pistol 2 for some single target damage and Pistol 3 as a filler since it’s nearly instant. Shield 4 is a great combo finisher and 5 grants you a double stun wich is pretty useful in interrupting or decreasing deviant stacks on champs.
However you should go for a heal turret, grenades, bombs and the elixier gun for best dungeon support. But to tell you the truth: You have to know yourself if you want to be most efficient and useful for your team or want to have more fun and still run Pistol / Pistol. If you do so, you could go for Power/Precision/ConDamage stats and play some hybrid stuff. Not so strong but still ok. However your damage will be lower – definitly.

No 2h weapon is stronger than 2x 1h weapons in general, that’s made up. It’s about time they get their 2nd slot!
totally disagree about engi.
first, a good player isnt just in kits 90% of the time, they swap every 1-4 actions. you blow your cooldowns and ditch the weapon/set for another, cuz theyre all short cds.
second, when it comes down to it, the only thing p/p or p/s has over rifle is the variety of conditions, a sigil, and a blast. rifle is just plain better for exploration, catching, and disengages. and (especially) in a pvp setting, when you can squeeze about the same damage out of each weapon type, the more utility you have the better. rifles arent common in s/tpvp because the available stat combos are terrible. in wvw most people dont realize that a bruiser power build plays really well because perplexity is just easier and widely accepted as viable/strong. in pve, zerk builds take rifle just for jump shot damage, since its our biggest hit aside from BOB, but youre right about stayin in kits for better damage in pve.
Sry forgot to mention it: I was talking about PvE only. And in PvE it’s totally silly to take a rifle, it’s just for fun and nothing for efficiency. Not taking a rifle grants you ~5% more damage with kits. You would sacrifice that for some ego burst? No way. A good player (PvE wise) IS 90% of the time on a kit. He swaps the kits but only goes to the main weapons for the finisher since there is nothing else good there. You spam your bombs and grenades for max dps and vulnerability and you spam your BOB, fire bomb, heal turret, shield 4, elixiergun 4 for the might. You have no time for your main weapon, just to clean up a single enems (pistol 2, 3 as a filler).
btt: What you say about the 2h weapons is nothing else than “they are stronger in specific situations”. And so are some 1h weapons. I can only talk for PvE here and there you want max efficiency. As I mentioned the engi is the best example. Kits aren’t affected by weapon damage so you are just hurt by using a 2h weapon. But it is a problem if different classes have different specific weapons for situations and suffer from sigil lack.
For example take a guard that needs to take a hammer and next to him a mesmer that needs to take a sword + focus. Now the guard just can make use of one sigil and the mesmer has 2. Still they are choosing the best fitting weapon for their situation, however the guard misses stats. Or the elementalist in dungeons? Everyone can stack bloodlust and still have +5% dmg, +10% dmg, of battle, bloodlust, etc. He has just one. It is not fair atm.

Sword as main hand in pve? Slow adrenaline generator. However I agree with sword offhand against single targets, however a 2nd axe is probably better too if you think about the vulnerability and fury. Also longbow? … yea Warriors will suffer indeed.
Overall the Zerker looses 10% damage as mentioned by the devs wich means a rough 20% crit damage reduction wich is pretty ok imo.

Mobs use fast attacks and with charge animation a big one. So it’s a buff to confusion, retalation aswell aegis and blocks and blind.
Remove bleeding cap for condition builds.
Increase healing power ratios in pve by 100%.
would be a good start.

decreasing zerker dps by 10% is pretty much 20% less crit damage tough …
Engineer is atm pretty on the top of the dps, since his passive damage is insane. He fills up the gap to 25 stack vulnerability, even if he’s alone (then with bufffood) and the explosive build is able to share permanently 15 stacks of might or in critical situations use all teh explosives for heal.
As for DpS it really depends on the situation. The engi is by far on the top in terms of AoE if there are 5+ targets, or even even with the ele. Single target the mesmer and thief are on the top, however the mesmer depends on the surviability of the phantasms aswell on conditions (iWarlock).
I’ve played many different classes now and the dps is pretty even anyway.

What the ot means is if every class deals for example 1000 direct damage and the engineer just 800, but 200 with conditions, everyone deals the same damage. Now the direct damage gets nerfed by 10% wich means every class deals 900 except the engi wich deals 920.
And I have to agree, engineer has much bleed and fire damage. I think the warrior will suffer the most, since he has almost 0 condition damage. Aswell the guard I guess. Engi, Necro and Mesmer are having a good time tough. Not sure about Ele and Ranger .

As for me, I first did a Mesmer and then the Engineer. The Necro after them was unbelevable boring. Then I created a Thief and hell he’s alotta fun! Pretty hard to use first, especially if you played a high healthpool class before like the Mesmer.
But Thief it is!! Trust me!
