I’m really to dump to find the preview Where?? ._.’’

Greez … Since about 1 week I suffer from heavy lag in GW2 at about 19:00-22:00 pm. I’m alone at home and other games like League of Legends or Starcarft II work perfectly, Teamspeak members also hear me clear and reponse fast with “B” on my call “A”.

So it has to do with GW2. Other GW2 friends don’t have that problem at the said time. So what is it? Can I create somehow a direct port or something? Pls help!!

And what to sacrifice? Inspiration traits are the most flexible we got, adapting to every fractale, also they are strong as F. You will not require a permanent reflection, you can time reflection and make use of another good passive instead of traiting for medicore stuff. We also 5 reflection skills, 4 for fillers between wardens aa. Thats more than enough.

However it’s personal playstyle so I also suggest 10/20/0/20/20 or 0/30/0/20/20.

X/20/X/20/X is a must have and makes you worth taking into a dungeon.
10/20/X/25/X are almost must have but can be left away if you require something else.

For dungeons and fractals you should go 10/30/0/30/0.

It’s not like you would kick a mesmer for a guard anywhere. But I really don’t think that a mesmer with 1-2 pahnts will outdamage a warrior, espeically if there are more than one target. There is no cleaving phantasm wich kinda sux :P Don’t start now a GS discussion plz x.X

• Switching healing skills of my mesmer all the time. Normal Heal, Mantra, Reflection.
• New Elites? PHA! They should fix the current one’s first! Look at the engineer for example: 1 Elite and 2 completly useless.

I said Mesmer is more flexible, not Guardians aren’t flexible. I’ll allways take 1 Mes and 1 Guard over 2 of a kind. I still feel like the mesmer has a better QoL with his skills than the Guard, they are responding much faster.

Just that the guard has very long CD on its skills. Also we are much more flexible to adapt to the situation. We need condition remover? We got 3 pretty low CD ones (dunno about Guard). We need reflection? Even 5 Skills (Guard 2?). Need stability? Granted. Heal? 800 HpS.
Guard is an allrounder, but the Mesmer outclasses him if adapting and not running with the same skills all day long. Too bad most players got their 3 utility skills like locked…

Why would you reduce the dura? o.O

Yes, coming next year, some new skills, new traits, new weapons and old weapons for different classes. When exactly? Noone has an idea, not even ANet :P

Not allways, but sometimes it does yes. For example a long sword and a short one is pretty sexy.

Uhm the anomaly is not part of the “purple glow family”. It’s unique. The purple ghost like chains are the focus you should seek for. My english is bad … and I should feel bad.

Reflection is also protection. It’s not allways a damage oriented tool. I’m also not sure how the iWarden works with +x% mesmer damage things if he reflects. hm…

Aslong as you don’t have permanently 25 stacks might – nope, I’ll take them. Also they are very useful in ranged forced combat aswell outside a dungeon or if you are just 2-3 ppl somewhere. If you are rich enough, you can just carry about 2-6 ascended weapons of the same type with you …

That’s why it is actually good looking and expensive as f…

And then ANet rises the bleeding stacks to infinite in PvE and everyone is happy … Yes that’d fix many things. Especially fo r necro. And maybe they would increase the scaling by let the scaling scale with Char lv o.O iykwim

At least 10/20/0/20/0 and the other 20 points are free for you.
Run full Zerker equip and for PvE in dungeons ruby orbs as “runes” and for sigils stacking or +5% damage / 2 weapons with +10% damage and of course the sigil of battle for swappers.

The best or better – only acceptable swords ingame are:

• Lord Taere’s Shadow
• FotM Sword
• Bonetti’s Rapier
• Bolt
• Whisperblade

and lets not forget the ultra rare:

• Infinite Light

Real mesmers don’t fight … by themselves.

The greatsword is one of the weaker weapons of the mesmer, however it’s pretty ok for trashmobs (regular easy mobs) and it’s a good beginner weapon since it’s easy to handle.

For a beginner you should get a Sword + Focus and a Greatsword. Sword + Pistol works fine too and is better for stronger enemies like Veterans. Just test all the weapons and their skills. Don’t forget that you can activate some skills multiple times like the Sword 3 or Focus 4.

Do you play on EU or NA? And what’s your main language if I may ask? ^^

Asked this myself too when I recieved my first FotM weapons o.o

Never had such a problem – are you playing on the wrong servers or do you overuse your own download with movies etc? o.O

Reduce them to 1 charge and make them stronger? So it would be a normal skill wich has to be charged – seems legit.

They go on CD when you change them. All your skill really recharge when you’re out of combat? Wow I really should spam my TW more. Seriously, if you say a skill that hasn’t used it’s full power should recharge it’s the same as if you would use a TW and if all enemies die within 5 sec the other 50% of your TW hasn’t been used for it’s “full power” therefore it should have just 50% cd? Whut?

Ascendeds have 5% higher stats than Exotics.

Allways charge other mantras while casting the Mantra of Pain so you can permanently charge mantras.
Healing mantras are awesome choice for enemies like subject alpha. You can get a heal per sec of ~800 per person. Neat ;D

Pretty much what eldenbri said. Just want to add the following things:

• try to use the sword if you can, it deals much more damage and has an easy aoe
• only use ranged weapons if you have to, they deal less damage in general
• while you are leveling and are probably unexpirienced, I suggest you (sry colesy) to use the GS (greatsword) together with a sword and a focus.
• if you have learned how to dodge proberly and how to block, try using the sword mainly
• sword offhand and pistol are the strongest dps single target phantasms
• the staff phantasm outdamages them however if the enemy has 4+ conditions on it (different conditions) and is a great choice for harder bosses when fighting in groups
• the scepter is a good choice if you need to be ranged (dangerious enemy) but still want to be able to stay near your allies to recive buffs
• you can prevent the scepter from creating clones wich destroy your phantasms (if you got 3) by do 2 auto attacks, cast your offhand phantasm, do 2 aas, cast 3, 2aas, offhand support if needed, weapons swap.

I is nothing like that at all. You don’t have to discharge multiple time warps (waiting a cooldown between each charge) and then wait the cooldown of the abilitiy to cast it again to bring it back to full power.

The point is that there is a CD for a reason, thats how mantras shall work. A normal skill for example does its effect and goes on cd, mantras go on a higher cd compared to the effect but can be used multiple times in a row. To let them charge themselves while not in combat would simply be a huge cdr buff.

Mesmers are indeed supposed to do that. We got stability and awesome burst aswell mantra bonus that can be charged and changed again after the fight if there is a charge left.

Move in, cast iSwordman, 3, change to focus, iWarden, 3 for gap closer (now it should have arrived the controller), then go for aa until the flamethrowercharr starts to attack then hit 2 and after the iWarden burst and 2 iSwordman’kittens shatter and the controller ist down.

This takes about 10 sec.

This thread is not about if ranged is viable nor if GS is viable. It’s about if you have to stay ranged, what weapons do you use? I mean – see the new fractale endbosses, that charr and dredge. I would never ever try to melee them, the dps falls too much off by dodging. It’s one of the ultra rare situations where I took GS and Staff. Well was my first time tough.

Why? Criticism is good in general aslong you are not offensive. I really like to hear a post like “ew that looks horrible – you should try XY” or “the gloves destroy the outfit” etc. Also you don’t have to post anything if you are unable to recive criticism.

Wat? I never had this bug o.o I tested to summon the iZerker now many times right after weapon swap, allways worked for me :o

The highest crit I had with iWarlock was 25k on Dwayna with a luck 25 stacks of might and vulnerability. However in PvE dungeon bosses I only take the staff with condition spammers where the iWarlock simply crits with 10-15k. There is no better phantasm with spammers.

Phantasmal Warlock isn’t nearly as good as people here seem to think so far as I can gather. Haven’t seen good numbers in practice either.
Warlock deals base 438 damage, unknown power scaling, and an additional 10%per condition for a maximum of +120% damage. It has an attack frequency of 6.8, or 5.7 traited. Under ideal circumstances, discounting crits and power scaling, that’s 169dps. It’s ranged.
Take a look at Phantasmal Swordsman, who deals 672 damage per strike, has a 2.0 power scaling, and an attack frequency of 4.5 without the need for Haste, and that’s 149dps. With 2k power, that’s 1038dps . It evades during it’s leap.
Duelist deals 118dps, 8 strikes per attack, 0.4 scaling. With 2kpower, that’s 1129dps.
Chances are, you don’t have all 12 conditions(which includes imob) on your target all the time in a 5 man group, and while I’m not at home to test it, I strongly suspect the Warlocks power scaling is the worst of the three phantasms I just mentioned.

Only reason to bring staff is for it’s defensive capabilities.
And I’m not sure why people would use scepter in a power build, it hits like a wet noodle, even worse then great sword.

This whole post makes me realize you don’t know how damage calculation in this game works.

• There is no base damage – with 0 power you deal 0 damage with every skill (exept conditions of course).
• Every skill with the same damage when the player has X power has the same scaling. 10% more power = 10% more damage on a skill. There aren’t any skills who are scaling %tual better than others.

This is the reason why the iWarlock even scales the best of all phantasms with enough conditions. At 4+ conditions the iWarlock outdamages already every other phantasm in single target dps.
