Why? The only “ugly” thing is the cast time. And for me (PvE) I’m gonna use the 3 charges in a fight and recharge them while walking to the next spot. Also even if I had to use them multiple times, the cast time is how much? 2 sec? For 3 activations? Really they are awesome if they’re gonna be AoE. 3 times AoE stability in harpy fractale huehue
Sounds like old Karma from League of Legends with her mantra charges. I like the idea.

Ok seriously – don’t talk about something you haven’t even checked! I just went trough ALL the patch notes since release and there was not a single nerf to the HP of illusions. You must have been playing the beta, or just dreamt it…
Did you really think anyone was going to believe you read ALL the patch notes in the 30 minutes before you responded? If you are done exaggerating you need to read on the traits and spells that affect HP.

None illusion addicted defense abilities of the mesmer? Hm… Scepter block, sword block, sword blur, chaos storm aegis, F4 is even timeable with a short summon from sword 3 e.g., mimic block, tons of aoe projectile reflections, portal, blink, staff 2… I can’t see a problem to evade or block attacks without illusions … The “problem” is not the mesmer I guess …Oh wait, you think having a couple blocks is even remotely on par with the complete invulnerability that other classes get? Let me laugh harder

When you block the enemy make sure you…
1. …are in range (900) to summon a clone and apply damage + torment
2. …don’t do any other actions since if you spam 1 for example, or just roll, you will override the old action.
The chain is: defensive position → block → punish. If you do something right after the block, the chain will be interrupter and no damage, nor torment will be applied.
The only thing noone here could tell me definitly, is: How are they affected by weapon damage? :/
I tought it was about PvE? :o (not the thread, just the post I’ve answered). “Requires clones” for F4 is enough to produce one that you will shatter immediately. There is no problem with casting 3 sword or 2 staff and shatter it right after to evade an attack.
As for mimic, after absorbed one projectile it will block everything for the rest of the 4 sec duration.
As mesmer there are a few survivablity traits like “phantasms grant nearby allies permanently regeneration (refreshes after expired)” or “vigor on crit” wich are probably the best ones. Also in dominion there is a trait that causes aoe cribble when clones die. Awesome trait for players using all weapons (since mesmer really can make use of this where other classes just got often the weapon X is better than weapon Y situation).
Against overpulls in open world, act for example like using the focus 4 to pull them all together against a wall or something, 3 sword for clone charge, while it is on it’s way summon the warden (5) activate 3 again, dmg the mobs with cleave 1 and 2 while they are all rooted and you are invournable. After this you can try to stay melee or backoff switch to gs and do 2341112 switch. Just an example, every situation is different

However what happens if they get might too? Does it increase their power or just ignore it? Never tested it for sure, so – do you know this too?

Illusions have stats based on the base stats of the mesmer: Power, Presicion, Toughness, VItality. Increasing Presicion for example increases the crit ratio of the phantasm, but if you use a +5% crit sigill it wont.
It’s not a bug, neither is it very smart to be programmed like this.

To be honest, at low levels the mesmer is weak compared to other classes. Mesmer power comes from it’s traits, wich require lv40 at least. Up to then, just overestimate yourself.
Surviablity skills are main hand sword 2, staff 2, offhand sword 4, scepter 2, pistol 5, even chaosstorm is kinda defensive. Aswell F3 and F4 as already mentioned. Keep in mind that you also got skills that reflect projectiles or teleport you to a safe place aswell invisibility.

I specifically mentioned the AOE used by the new boss revamps and you compare that to newbs in pvp? Your point could not be more irrelevant.
No their HP did not get buffed, it got nerfed, twice, immediately after launch.

Split the hit point values of clones and phantasms by game type:
Increased the phantasm base hit points by 55% in PvP and WvW.
Increased the phantasm base hit points by 270% in PvE.
Decreased the clone base hit points by 25% in PvP and WvW.
Increased the clone base hit points by 28% in PvE.
For me this looks like a very very obvious buff, don’t ya think so?

If you press F1, all clones will go shatter themselves. Now you have 2 sec time to press it again, if you do so, the phantasms will also shatter. Phantasm builds can now make use of profession skills….
As for me, I really came up with such an idea once before. I would change it like this: If you press F1, all clones will go shatter themselves. Now you have 2 sec time to press it again, if you do so, the phantasms will also shatter.
Shattering phantasms is never a good idea, unless you can profit by the big aoe or as finishing off something. Better open with a shatter like GS 2, shatter, and now summon the phantasm. Or Sword 3, Shatter, 3 again (you still can switch places), keep going.
Keep in mind that shattering gets weaker for each illusion:
1 Illusion: 1x 100% damage = 100% damage
2 Illusions: 2x 75% damage = 150% damage
3 Illusions: 3x 66% damage = 200% damage
So you see its not that bad to shatter a single Illusion in a phantasm build.
Portal Entry/Exit:
I would like to see a skill icon notification when you get out of range for placing the exit. There are existing indicators for other skills when target is out of range (red bar at bottom of icon). I would like the red bar to appear at the bottom of the portal icon when I go beyond range.

They’d have to implement a new mechanic. I do not know of a skill like that existing in the game.
But I might be wrong, do turrets prefer the selected target as engineer, or is it random?
Unfortunately they don’t – they just attack what they want … ugly.
Easy way to solve this. Make the warden spawn on your location (or next to you) like other ranged phantasm and iDefender.
So … if i cast him on 1200 range it spawns next to me having it’s greatest fight with a allmighty mob called “air”? Noty.
I would personally prefer iWarden to walk and follow his target if he gets out of range, but that seems like a further cry than this one.

Could be changed. Warden, on ground target cast, summons him at the place you want, still addicted to the target you marked. Problem solved. Illusions should still be diing after the target they were made for dies. But this shouln’t be a problem to be able to say where they appear.
And how are phantasms meant to work? :P

Just can speak for PvE and there conditions (especially when focusing on bleeding) are no go.
If you talk colesy, talk to the end. However I’m right there with you.
Shattering will deal a good amount of damage if you wanna burst, finish or innitiate with a single clone (sword 3, gs 2, …). The damage dealt by mind wrack decreases down to 66% of the original damage if there are more illusions to be shattered. So shattering 3 illusions deals the double damage of shattering one. If you won’t shatter anyway (phantasm build), just shatter your innitate clone. Keep in mind that you still can “switch” places with sword 3 even if the clone is dead. (With shatter builds just spam clones and shatter 3 at once).
I recomment to go for phantasms over shatter. They really don’t die that fast, they got 8.5k HP, traited even more, and if you use the signet and summon the defender, all illusions have about 15k HP, defender himself 35k wich lasts for an additional 10k “shield”. But normally 8.5k is enough to deal with enemies and if something dies, just resummon it. Even if it just shoots twice, a skill that deals 10k crit is already ok, if it hits 3 4 5 times even better! I mean if all phantasms are alive and never die would make the phantasm summoning skills useless if they are rdy again.

Focus 4 should finally stack with other speed buffs.
iWarlock should stop missing.
Feedback needs a marker and no autoaim.
Mimic should grant stability.

Slightly. They are just better if you go for con. damage since only the scaling will be buffed. If you do so they get worse on their own since they won’t deal as much crit damage anymore. However they are happier if you got might than the swordman e.g.
What makes the staff stronger with cons isn’t the warlock, it’s the wind of chaos wich also procs on clones. Maybe even the bouncing thing will be fixed soon (staff clones won’t but trident will be affected by the trait). However the staff gains much more efficiency with might stacks than the other weapons do, even if you still play zerker for warlock. Maybe hybrid is an option or con duration.
But lets see how heavy the announced buffs really are.
Not really. Hard to get group boons when you are sitting at 900-1200 away from the rest of your group.

Never bothered trying (I’m waiting til 15th patch where mantras gonna be buffed), but, if your really want GS and sw/focus, what about a 20/30/0/20/0?
You need the 25 at inspiration for +15% phantasm dmg. To waste 5 points now for Duelling is useless, so better invest them too into more reflection and support.
Sword, Focus and GreatSword:
20/20/0/30/0 – the best, simply.
Just use a normal phantasm based build right now. Maybe at Oct 15. staff becomes very strong with the con. damage buff, depending on how hard this buff will be. However right now, full zerk phantasm build. Especially useful against world bosses like Dwayna or Shaman etc. Together with many conditions on the enemy, the iWarlocks somtimes hit over 20k. Or sometimes even in dungeons if your team has many conditions.

How can you combine shatter and phantasms? :/ I’m sorry if I’m annoying but – when will you make use of shatter? When you finish off something, or when you just got clones out or you see your phantasms diing (red circle e.g.). To be honest, 10 instead of 15 seconds shatter CD is it really worth it? In a longer fight you won’t shatter for a long time and then more damage probably would have been better wouldn’kitten
