Obal,
Thank you for all your effort into these guide. I know I have improved greatly over these past few months; still no where near your level, but much better than where I was.
Yoshino.3982,
The big thing with reflections, this doesn’t matter how “gaming” of a rig you have. The entire map sits on a large body of water. If you ever fall through the terrain, its all water. that whole body of water is effecting the rendering of reflections. It’s poor design that will get any system.
Would be nice if someone could record it.
Yeah, It almost crashed again and I had to close it. Still no good with guildwars 2 for some reason.
Really annoying that an upgrade that plays the more detailed graphics better, is somehow more self-destructive.
Have you done a clean install with the driver and using a driver sweeper software? Have you also run the file integrity check I posted for the OP.
i get this error after so long playing the game

Please start your own thread and attach the full log. This is not the same error as this thread.
Maybe an issue with the network card; are the drivers up to date?
That is a Windows error. Below is the meaning:
ERROR_LOCK_VIOLATION
33 (0×21)
The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file.
It appears something else, maybe virus scanner, is locking the file.
Error code# http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms681382%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
(edited by Xystus.3241)
Can you please attach the full crash log?
Thanks
Sorry to tell you, but applications CANNOT shut off your system. The Windows Kernel is built to prevent that. The error lies further down, most likely in drivers or hardware.
Check to see if the gw2.dat file got set as read only?
The % downloaded is % of the remainder. Does it start out at 260k and quickly go down to 40k after a minute or two?
Carzor,
DO you have the ports open to one system and not the other?
Run it as administrator.
Nope, other players will not communicate directly with you. All traffic goes through the server.
Ports, especially those over 1024 are considered “unprivileged”. They can be used for anything. So one port isn’t “safe”, while another is “dangerous”. Some well known exploits have used specific ports in the past, but doesn’t make the port itself bad.
GW2 will use 80, 443, 6112 and 6600.
That should be fine to play the game. You won’t max out settings with 60+ fps, but definitely playable.
Its not the sound of an event finishing? Maybe one you were in the area, but didn’t participate?
Reported in game, but I have not recieved a response.
They don’t respond to in game submissions. It says so before you click submit a bug.
I believe this happens when you accept a different story with another player. I think ANET has responded to this issue before… let me see if I can’t find it.
Are you logitech drivers up to date for your keyboard and mouse?
The latest version is 8.50

Any chance you could record it?
Carzor Stelatis.9435,
This user is in the EU as well and seems to be having routing issues with a company called Tele2.net
Nova,
What card do you have and what is the driver version?
I would start with your ISP, they maybe able to forward the issue to tele2.net.
AFAIK, You can only gain 1 skill point from it. After that, its only used to charge crystals. If you have no crystals to charge, nothing more you can do.
Kraeje.5861,
It appears to be some routing issues with tele2.net.
The servers IPs are registered in Austin, TX. However, the physical servers are located in Germany.
AlcaHolicGamer.1036,
Please read this post about running the “Game Advisor” and put the attachment in a reply.
Emris,
It does sound like a driver issue. I would recommend unstalling your drivers and using a driver sweeper software. I’m not sure whats the best or safest, maybe someone else can chime in here.
Next, install the latest stable drivers.
Then, make sure DirectX is up to date: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
Also, you can perform an integrity check of your windows file system. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ht/sfc-scannow.htm
Do you play on EU or US Servers and which one? With the latest round of server performance fixes, I rarely get any skill lag in large battles.
GW2 does not use that port number. Nor are those addresses registered to NCSoft or ArenaNet. I would not open it.
You may want to also check for Viruses if you are getting hit like that. Some of those addresses are registered in China and Russia.
Usually this happens when the application does not have administrator access to the gw2.dat file.
Right click the shortcut and choose properties. Under the “compatibility” tab check “Run as Administrator” or something similar to that. Click OK.
Remap the keys to something a bit more useful and not so far out of the way. The less you move your fingers away from WASD, the better.
I’ve done a a remap so ALL my keys are within the first 4 columns. (1-z, 2-x,3-c,4-v).
Try deleting your local.dat file located at
%APPDATA%\Guild Wars 2\local.dat
Hi Sororita – I’m afraid there’s simply not enough information here to go off of in order to say this is an issue with the game coding an Nvidia drivers.
We would absolutely love to look into this issue and help you out but I’d prefer for you to contact us directly so we can gather more information.
Tried that but your system is down, tried redirecting to the site i was told, pw doesnt work there, been waiting over 5 hours for new password…
It doesn’t use a password. The old system did, and you had to register for a separate account; if you didn’t setup an account you wouldn’t get a password email.
Before you go out and buy a new card, some of the other crashes reference the ntdll.
You may have a corrupt windows install.
Try this first:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ht/sfc-scannow.htm
If it found errors, do a reinstall of your video drivers after you reboot.
Did you do a clean install of Windows 8.1?
Have you tried reinstalling your video drivers?
What are your temperatures like?
Is your laptop set for High Performance or Battery Saving/Balanced power profile?
Sounds like a possible corrupt Windows installation or corrupt driver. Try doing a clean install of your video drivers and perform a file verify on windows (http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ht/sfc-scannow.htm)
I just read your post and i’m downloading the 331.65 drivers, will that be a similar thing as the 331.58?
It should be. I think the 58 are the certified drivers, while the 65 maybe the latest version. Either should work.
If by “critical” error, you are referring to a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD); it’s your hardware or windows operating system.
The operating system protects the drivers from applications and through the Hardware Abstraction Layer protects the hardware. An application cannot cause a BSOD unless a problem exists somewhere with the driver or hardware.
I would do a clean install of the nVidia drivers (Choose “custom” install and checkmark clean install option.)
I would also run a Window’s file verify: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ht/sfc-scannow.htm
I have the same video card and a similar CPU; I run just fine. Most likely either power being limited (laptop set on Power Saving vs High Performance) or a Temperature issue.
I would recommend running http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html while you play and watch/record the temps. You should rarely go above 70. Normally I am very stable in the high 50s to low 60s.
Also, if the game crashed; can you attach the crash report. It should be
%APPDATA%\Guild Wars 2\ArenaNet.log
NIC = Network Interface Card. Usually mother boards come with a 10/100 or 10/100/100 port to plug in a wired connection.

They are looking into the issue.
I am unable to enter dungeons at this moment. What is the ETA for the fix? This is a core part of the game and I understand this is unintentional. I understand this is a bug and am sure they are working to fix it as quickly as possible.
There is no ETA yet. However, ANET is aware of the issue. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Code-19-9-18-1616-101/page/2#post3197829
Have you verified your windows files using the link I provided?
Smacker, it depends on how you moved it. If you just cut/paste, probably the issue. If you used Windows to change the location, its should be alright.
Sounds like you may have a corrupt windows file and/or driver install.
I would recommend reinstalling your graphics drivers and try a Windows file verify (http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/verify-the-integrity-of-windows-vista-system-files/).
It almost sounds like the installer isn’t running with administrator privileges. Rather than choosing “run as administrator”, right click the file and go to the Compatibility tab. Check the admin box there.
A lot of the stuff I linked, I took into account someone just starting out and without a lot cash/materials to get everything.
I think you might have overlooked something. I know a few people new to the game gearing up guardians that simply don’t have the badges/karma for a full set of PVT gear. I’m not sure how long it takes to get a full set from dungeons but for most people new to the game PVT gear isn’t an immediate option.
Anyone have an idea on how many dungeon runs are needed for a full set of PVT gear?
edit:
ps – why do so many thieves/guardians have guardians/thieves for alts?
Because thieves/guards are awesome!
As for the gear; you can say that about most. Unfortunately the build tool assume exotics. I would start out with masterwork/rare and upgrade when available. The PVT would be the most forgiving for someone starting out. I did forget that you can’t craft the PVT jewels cheaply (requires Azurite); so you would have to fall back to Karma.
A good alternative would be Cleric jewels (Power/Vitality/Healing).
Did any of you guys Guest to another server, more specifically use both guest passes prior to the Tuesday patch?
Hey guys, according to this post a numerous amount of players are having the same issue even myself for the last two days.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Disconnecting-when-entering-dungeons/firstExperiencing that as well, along with skill lags, error 7 and 58, error 19 when entering dungeons (even when leaving, sometimes). Never had this much issue with connectivity with any other games; different story with GW2.
There is something buggy with the way guesting works at the moment. I have unlimited guesting across all servers. However, other people who guested before the patch seem to be limited or even unable to guest?
Did you guest prior to the patch/server reset? Basically 12:00am GMT to 11:59pm GMT on Monday?
Have you tried repairing your game?
How is your wireless router setup? Maybe something is either only forwarding to your Wife’s system or giving her priority?
DC is chasing me wherever I go. I was mining in a deserted map…and then BAM, error 7 strikes back. Have been going on for months now. Had my internet provider’s technicians come down to check out what is going on, they said my internet is fine and stable and is most likely the game’s server issue.
If your Wife is sharing the same connection and she isn’t experiencing it… it would seem to be something with your system.
