Xystus Furtim – Human Theif
Server: Stormbluff Ilse
The game cannot cause a bluescreen. Windows protects the drivers and the hardware. Most likely this is a driver issue. I would recommend doing a clean install of your Video drivers first.
Have you tried using the “/clientport 80” option?
Are you on a campus network or some other type of shared internet?
I do not understand what you mean by “there is no way I can allocate that much memory into one file on it”? Are you using an older file system, like FAT16?
You can use a program like HJSplit http://www.hjsplit.org/ to break the file apart. YOu won’t be able to run it from the external HDD, but you can save it.
Otherwise, I would suggest formatting the HDD to use NTFS or another file system.
Usually occurs when you are not running the game as an administrator. The file could not be written to, therefore its trying to download it again.
Please post specs…
Also run http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html and monitor your temps.
Assuming drivers are good, low FPS like that usually means overheating or powersaving modes.
In the future, please use “More posting & formatting options…” and attach the file.
As for the error: “Exception: c0000005” is a very generic windows error. The error basically means “I tried to execute the program, but something is blocking me”.
Try the following:
1) Run the game with administrator privileges
2) Delete the local.dat file located under
%APPDATA%/Guild Wars 2/
3) Run the game with the “-repair” option http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Command_line_argumentsTry using the command line argument /clientport 80
Actually your system is just fine.
Before 2 months ago, they removed “CULLING”. This was limiting the amount of player models and graphics your computer would process at one time. The unfortunate part, during WvW, you could be killed in large zergs by players who would never appears; specifically thieves getting extra “stealth”.
The problem resided on ANET’s side. Their client, while it can run on 64-bit windows(through Windows on Windows[WoW]); it is still a 32-bit piece of code. This limits the process to the 3.3GB of memory, but it hits a hard cap. If they released a 64-bit client, this wouldn’t be an issue.
You are running out of memory. The process is still 32-bit and will max out around 3.3GB, which you appear to be hitting. I would turn down some of the graphics settings.
Sample rate to “native”, reflections to “terrain/sky”, model limits to medium.
Are you running the game as an administrator? If the game cannot read/write to the file, it will attempt to download it again.
100% just means the protocol is blocked. This is quite common.
However, you are showing high packet drops before you even hit ANET. Infact, you are showing 20% at your address
2 9ms 5/ 25 = 20% 4/ 25 = 16% 10.75.151.1
Might want to look at your modem first.
Sirsquishy is correct, wireshark will pinpoint the issue much better.
Module: igdumdim32.dll
This is the problem. What is this?
The only fix is to reinstall Windows with the 64bit version you are using the 32bit version that has a 3.5g memory limit that is causing your OOM error.
That is correct.
Incorrect fix! I have 64bit windows and I have the same error.
The only fix is to reinstall Windows with the 64bit version you are using the 32bit version that has a 3.5g memory limit that is causing your OOM error
Incorrect, please try again.
Your error is “VerifyAccess failed or denied access with 0×80070716 – 1”, not an “OOM” error.
1) Make sure you are running as an administrator
2) Try repairing the game
3) perform a windows “sfc /scannow” command

70 isn’t hateful. Its warm, but should be within the specs of the card. You may want to look at airflow around the card to make sure your removing the heat from that area.
Yes it was.
It looks like your notebook does not meet the minimum requirements to play the game. I would recommend contacting their support (using the link at the top) to see if they can do anything and if not try for a refund.
Also, try a “-repair” option on the game. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Command_line_arguments
Try reinstalling your graphic drivers. When prompted for “custom install” choose that. Then click the box “clean install”.
I game on a laptop and get better FPS than that.
superriki, I would need a bit more
HP ENVY 15-letternumber combo. Usually it printed somewhere on the case. Either right below the screen, somewhere near the keyboard or undernearth on a product sticker.
What model of laptop do you have? Is it an HP ENVY something?
The game requires memory on the card. What the Intel HD 4000 you have, only has a 32MB(256MB required). Therefore it relies on the system’s RAM; which is shared with other application.
Now, your ENVY may have a dedicated nVidia graphics card that has outdated drivers and we only need to update those drivers. Without knowing the ENVY model, I don’t know what the system is fully capable of.
Dedicated Memory: 32 MB
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Running_the_game
NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800, ATI Radeon™ X1800, Intel HD 3000 or better
(256MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better)
I would say its failing on the 256MB dedicated RAM for the video card.
Does your laptop have an nVidia card as well? You may need to install the latest drivers to get it to detect.
Are your drivers up to date? What are your sound settings configured to ingame?
I remember seeing an issue if you have mouse trails turned on.
You may want to take a look at this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/HD7k-series-Cstats/first#post3397521
I would recommend dropping back down to the 13.4
bump for good info and hopefully solution.
Maybe an outdated driver issue.
If you could, run the “Game Adviser” located here and attach the file(More posting & formatting options…)
I don’t see anything else that otherwise would say different. You are hitting the memory limit on the 32-bit OS. I would recommend installing windows at 64-bit.
If you could, attach the whole crash file. But basically, you’re running out of memory; most likely due to being on 32-bit operating system.
Nothing. Download the game installer and don’t use the disks.
Delete your local.dat file located under
%APPDATA%\Guild Wars 2\
I’m glad you found a work around.
However, it doesn’t make sense that ANET would “block ISPs” just for downloading the latest patch, but still allows authentication.
Nope, as no one is providing information. I’ve not seen any ping plotter statistics. Only can go off the pingpath which says the internet is having massive packet loss across that route; that data is not 100% reliable.
Have you tried to repair the game, using the “-repair” option?
Have you tried running with the “-repair” option?
I would recommend running the game adviser: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/How-to-Submit-a-Technical-Support-Ticket-2/first#post3236883
This will run a few pathpings to the login servers. pathping is a very basic tool, but it will show possibly packet loss and routes being used.
Beyond that, take a look at pingplotter and run that while you are running the game.
Okay, I updated the drivers and was able to use the world map. But after running around Lion’s Arch for a bit it crashed again and turned off my computer. It also is taking a while for the computer to turn on again. (Laptop, btw.) It’s not overheating – it’s gotten much hotter after an hour or so of play.
The only thing that pops up before Windows loads is the standard “your computer didn’t shut down properly, do you want to restart using safe mode, etc?” so I’m assuming it isn’t a BIOS thing. Doing an ESET scan just in case, though.
All my drivers are up-to-date, and NVidia is set to application-controlled antialiasing.
The only thing I can think of is that my battery is acting up somehow, even though I’m always plugged in. It doesn’t charge to more than ~15 minutes of full battery life. But that hasn’t changed since the last time I [successfully] played.
Here’s the Game Advisor results attached.
I know you’re saying its not overheating, but are you sure? What are your temps like? Is the GPU going over 80C at any time?
What you’re seeing is linked to power or temp issues.
Update: onboard DVI and VGA ports are not working.
You may have to turn those on in the BIOS or physically remove the other card.
Could you run the game adviser located here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/How-to-Submit-a-Technical-Support-Ticket-2/first#post3236883
and attach the results.
Reinstall DirectX 9C.
Assuming that is what was corrupt in Windows. The problem is, windows cannot fix itself; I wonder if the corruption is just from use or a Virus.
I managed to get it to work on my laptop, I think it was too hot where I was using it XD
But still no luck on the desktopUpdate your graphic drivers it works! Thanks guys.
Glad it worked.
Might want to repost this on the Mac forum.
Under windows, there are temp folders for guild wards called gw2-cache-{######}. Usually it has a bad driver; you delete the crash and the game will re-create it.
I would suggest looking in your temp folder for something similar.
Not everyone is seeing lag. Therefore its hard to pinpoint the exact issue. I recommend running the game adviser and attaching the log(specifically the part that uses the “pathping” command). The one user who posted it, is showing massive packet loss going to the servers.
The problem is, this isn’t perfect; as it uses a separate port/protocol than GW2 uses.
Yeah,
This is pretty much what I’ve done.
I submitted a ticket discussing my issues with lag, and attached the diagnostic log. The support team told me I was experiencing relatively heavy packet loss (‘Why else would I contact you…’ went through my head) and then they told me to download a third party “Ping Plotter” application to run while playing Guild Wars 2.
I plan on doing this when I get home — I hope it helps them fix it, because it’s quite literally unplayable.
Sounds like a plan. Pingplotter may help determine what is going on. I’ve seen another thread with a user having issues and awful packet dropping. Generally the game uses ports 80, 443 (standard internet ports; shouldn’t cause issue) and ports 6112, 6600 (unprivilaged ports; which are not “normal” web traffic, but correct thing to do). Maybe something with how packets are being prioritized/routed over those ports. That is just a complete guess.
You can also try using the “/clientport 80” command line argument; that should send all the traffic over 80 and ignore the 6000 level ports.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Command_line_argumentsAh, interesting — I didn’t know you could specify one port.
I actually already have all of the ports you indicated above marked for port forwarding to my static internal IP address on my router.
Oh well — I’m sure this will get them some more information.
You may have the ports forwarded, but you have to remember, between you and Anet/NCSoft can be any number of hops belonging to different companies. Connection issues can caused anywhere along the way.
Thymed.8251,
Since Windows Vista; the Kernel is built with Hardware protection to prevent applications from doing what you are seeing. This means its either driver or hardware related.
I would start by updating your drivers. Also try running an “sfc /scannow” to see if Windows is corrupt. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ht/sfc-scannow.htm
During gameplay (usually in a dungeon or a world event boss fight), something happens and my whole system shuts down and restarts, then takes me to the black screen where you have to hit exit/etc. to get the computer to boot up. What is going on and what can I do to fix this?
I performed the command /scannow and found these results:
“Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them”What do I do now?
reinstall Windows =/ Once windows is corrupt, its corrupt.
Also,
Try an “sfc /scannow”
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ht/sfc-scannow.htm
“VerifyAccess failed or denied access with 0×80070716 – 1”

Something else to try; while I doubt this may help. I’ve never had any connection issues, the only thing different than other users in the states, is I use google’s DNS servers.
Okay done. File attached.
Thanks.
I can’t say for certain, but I’ve seen a few other European players having a lot of packet loss across the internet going to NCSoft.

As you can see its very high packet loss across the board. Now a few things to take into account. Pathping uses protocols different than GW2 so its not an exact 1:1 match. But it does show some issues may exists.
You may want to look at pingplotter: http://www.pingplotter.com/ and plot to 206.127.159.108
If you can change the ports, try ports 6112 and 6600
You shouldn’t have to buy it, I believe they do offer a freeware version without all the bells and whistles.
Please run the “game adviser” located here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/How-to-Submit-a-Technical-Support-Ticket-2/first#post3236883
and instead of opening a ticket at this moment, just attach the file in a reply.
