Hi, I think there needs to be a central spot to get the information about the new live event so might as well start one.

First you need to volunteer, this involves fixing signs and recovering mementos from the people who did not survive the journey into one of the cities.

There are new events involving Eruptions, have only seen in chat so far so if anyone knows more about these I will add info here.

Stated new buildings and change in landscape, so far

The old one always required multiple different mobs. If you are in orr you need to leave because risen are classed only as risen. Could be a chicken, ape, eagle whatever they where considered 1 type of mob. So the old system also ruined it for you?

I was late, ran in and started resing people did not think anything of it since he does have a strong attack that can catch some people. Next thing I know I am dead and everyone in the room is dead. Was a little surprised to say the least. It has been done by a group so it is possible whether it is worth doing in its current state is another matter. Will try a few more times and if it is more hassle than joy will just leave it, lots to do otherwise.

the tragedy of a poorly thought out addition to a game, when will the madness end?

Someone will post on the forums that there server has Balthies open. Piles o’ people will flock to guest on that server for fifteen minutes or so to get their shards. Then they go back to their real server, dump tons o stuffs in the mystic forge, not get what they wanted, come back to the forums to rant about how much ANet sucks. While they’re shouting at their computer, they’ll get overheard by their significant other who will ask what they’re doing. Being in a bad mood from getting ripped off by the RNG, they’ll snap a mean reply back at said s.o. Said s.o. will get ticked off and go stomping out the door. While out, they’ll decide to go to the club to relax, and at that club they’ll meet a rich doctor and it’ll be love at first sight. They’ll then go home with their shiny new doctor and juvenile feline all night long. The next day, they’ll head home to get their stuff, and tell the poor idiot who is still smarting for wasting all that gold on the mystic forge that it’s over. The poor idiot in deep despair will then decide to hell with it all and drive to Las Vegas for a massive blowout party to forget all their problems for a while. While in Las Vegas, they’ll stumble into Linsay Lohan who will be out clubbing. After a wild night involving far too much adult beverage, they’ll end up at an all-night marriage chapel completing the train wreck that began with ANet adding guesting.

So there you have it. ANet adding guesting is going to ruin the lives of a whole lot of players who will end up married to Lindsey Lohan. There is simply no worse ‘feature’ ANet could possibly have added to the game.

Don’t think the patch will help you. In the new system you can go to the highest lvl fractal that any member of the group can join. If you cannot do lvl 40 (at chr lvl 60 you cannot) then you still will not find groups with your guild. I do not do fractals but when a toon is in LA there are usually several different looking for fract 1 announced.

I am leveling up a mesmer now and have never noticed a lack of damage. Constant movement is no more needed on mesmer than anything else I have played.

If you have a Guardian don’t paly a Mesmer. They are kind of the ranged version of guardians. Low dmg on everyhit lots of tricky and need to be in constant movment.

You could always look at it as a way to show your compassion for others. Yes you can knock on doors and when attacked destroy the other, or you could talk to people. Just because there is an option to appear heavy handed does not mean you yourself need to take that route. I personally have more sympathy for the ogres and dredge on several quests but that is just me.

Cats have their teats on their stomachs so the chest would not be covered.

I’m not actually sure what to think of this thread.

I did find it rather funny that my charr thief has a strip of cloth across her chest, though, considering that charr were designed without breasts. So it’s not actually doing anything, it’s just there. What’s the point of that strip of cloth, exactly? To look more “feminine” from a human perspective? And given how charr feel about humans, would a charr female actually WANT to look more humanly feminine?

Charrs have a minimum requirement of clothing for modesty as well They don’t have breasts but probably teets, and since every other race is doing it I figured they might as well to not make other races think about it too much.

What is wrong with nudity?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Yargesh.4965

Yargesh.4965

‘wrong’ is not the right word I think. To me there are several problems the main one being there are only idealized bodies in game. Walk down a nude/topless beach and you will not see an increadable number of perfect or near perfect bodies (or look in the mirror). Surrounding yourself with fake perfection is probably not really emotionally good for you. Another thing is that while there is nothing ‘wrong’ with our bodies many cultures/religions/groups find nudity shocking and upsetting emotionally (even seeing Ken and Barbie naked is too much) so instead of throwing it out there and hoping the people who sign into an adult server are adults it is better just to leave it swimsuit style.

What kind of data do you expect to get? How many people (are planning to) quit? Is kind of worthless if you don’t know how many players are still playing and how many new players join the game…

Plus normally if people quit a game they don’t hang about on the forums so they won’t be replying anyway. You can’t get any accurate data like this and what is the point of attempting to gather it anyway? The only people who need to know this kind of thing already have access to the server data.

These two pretty much sum up my post.

Some may think it is boring but it was interesting chopping down a huge hunk of meat and seeing if it can be done.

This happens at auctions often, someone will bump up the price when they see an interested bid. Since both parties have lots of money (up to 200g lying around that you can use to bump up the others bid) it is just a game. That said the profit is good even with the 5% cut to the game since the pet came for the investment of gems which in theory could have cost real cash or about 5 gold (it is 300 gems for pets not sure). Ah the good old lottery system eh?
Anyway a good way to spot this is just what you saw, bids are put in and removed when you up your bid. If you see this remove your bid and put in a lower bid and see what happens.

I am a solo player, I enjoy the social aspect of guilds to chat and do dungeon runs in other games. The mindset I ran into here has been confusing. People (guild officers) have told me in chat that a dungeon is too hard to do as a pug, but then even with several wanting to do said dungeon you wind up doing it as a pug (and finding it is not so hard to do). It seems that without clear cut roles and guild roles people run around in circles crying there is nothing to do. That there is too much to do is a problem and it is not cut into manageable bits for a lot of people is a serious problem. ANet can’t create a community it will form by itself over years (not months) and hopefully won’t be a vicious and snobby one.

I really like Lotro but have played too much of it so it is on vacation atm. The dungeons are not really similar as you can bypass so much of GW2 dungeons, also they play more like 3 man such as Library than the larger dungeons. Fairly straight forward as mechanics go so jump in to the AC story (lvl25 exploration mode at lvl 30) to see what you think before you decide never to do them.

January monthly achievement, are you serious?

Yargesh.4965

I am the same way so you are not completely mad (maybe).

I’d like to take part in the monthly, see the other things involved in it (dungeons, fractals, and so one).

But I hate PVP.
It’s hard to explain but I’ll try, I am interested in those things, but if I do them knowing they count towards the monthly but the monthly has a req I know I won’t be able to complete (the WVW kills), then doing those other things feels like wasted effort. I guess you could say I’m OCD about efficiency and wasted effort; I hate wasted effort even more than I hate PVP, it bugs me in a way few things do and I find myself actively avoiding things on the monthly due to the WvW kill requirement.

Yeah, that sounds a bit crazy I know :P

If it was anything but WvW kills I’d be fine, and the monthly would be fine (dungeons, JPs, Fractals, salvage, all fine! Heck, you could even put Karka slayer back on there and as long as it didn’t have WvW kills I’d do it!) and I’d get involved more with the other stuff, dungeoning, fractaling, and so on.

Please understand we aren’t asking for them to do away with WvW or anything, or even to never have it on the monthly again, just to have an occasional monthly without the WvW req. I get that they’re proud of WvW and that they want to people to get involved, and I know it’s important (it gives me my 12% gathering bonus :P), but it’s just not my cup of tea.

took a hunter to 80 and have a lot of fun with her. Did not like the lotro ranger and have never played wow so can’t compare there. I run orr in green magic find gear and have no problems at all, I have exotics for dungeons and do not have problems there. I don’t pvp in any form so if that is your goal look to the others that do it on a regular basis. Usually run with a tank bearish pet and a range pet and switch them around when they get confused.

Best for me is elementalist, a lot of fun and while they can be squishy they also can cut down a large group of mobs, just need to be careful of hits taken. Next for me is hunter, have never played this in any other game and found it a lot of fun, too bad the greatsword is not viable with my playstyle, just loved the concept. Next for me is the mesmer, just started it so is only about 17 now, have had more fun at low levels than any other character. Guardian is 72 now and I am happy with it but not overwhelmed. Thief is 40 and not enjoying it, same with necro. Warrior and engineer I have not tried.

I think it is better to have in you mind it is a complicated multiplayer tetras game. There is no win. The max level people can reach is limited not by the game but by interactions and synergies between players skill and ability. When new bells and whistles come out the max level will increase but as has been said above there is a cliff you get to that is eventually too steep.
