It is entirely about how, even though I am aware this isn’t a new term, the community seems to have latched on to the phrase “the trinity” and use it as if it’s literally the only word in their vocabulary.

If I had to give it a comparison, I feel as if every time I hear some kitten go “the trinity!” I’m being subjected to someone going “swagyolo!”

I could really care less what you guys think of the success or lack there of when it comes to Gw2, there are enough threads debating that already.

The question posed was who else was feeling similarly annoyed by the abrupt massive popularization of this phrase.

If you want you can get 30 laurels in 20 days. 1 per day plus 10 from monthly. Or you could play with greens through all content except higher dungeons. I have a green set that I put MF on and have no trouble running orr, it is just slightly faster to use exotic, not a huge amount faster. The same will be true of ascended.

The guarantee kicks in next patch (maybe). Is only a guarantee drop that is bugged now.

There’s still no reason to kill champs, Colin. Blue does not good reward make.

Just a reminder, blue is the absolute minimum champs can drop, they have much better odds of dropping good loot than regular mobs, and once you’re properly getting kill credit for them hopefully this becomes more visible.

If you mean by “can drop” that “If they drop loot, they will drop a blue”, then I would agree with you. Many people, however would interpret this as a guaranteed blue drop which is not true. Last week the Abomination at the end of Plinx has regularly dropped no items and 1s86c and, rarely, a blue item as well. Of course, on TC Plinx has been bugged for several days so I don’t have a “current” example on this champ. The champ on Noose Rd guarding the skill point has twice dropped nothing at all within the last week. My perception of champs is that, especially given the effort required, they really should not be regarded as more likely to drop something of value than a normal mob.

did a skritt thief event just run past? They drop bags with various things in them. You get this event by opening a random chest you find in game.

You could make t6 mats with them, but considering it takes an ecto + a mystic coin, it is probably not profitable. And you’d be the only person going “five clovers in a row, I have such horrible luck!”

During the headstart I was sure I found one in Divinities Reach, just looked again and cannot find the entrance I remember. I did find whisperer’s hidden away in the Ebonhawke city though.

I think a few people are mixing up Lions Arch and Divinities Reach.

Either that or I, and everyone else I’ve had this conversation with over the past several months, has missed that there is an accessible sewer system in Divinities Reach.

Having combed Divinities Reach several times (not looking for this specifically but trying to make sure I went into every accessible building, talked to every NPC etc.) I’m pretty confident Sil is right and it’s in the basement of the Maiden’s Whisper. Part of the human OoW story where you meet their representative in Divinities Reach reinforces that too. There are no order members down there but it looks like one of their bases. (As far as I know the only cities where they have clearly identified bases, with members of the order in uniform and banners are Lions Arch and The Grove.)

I feel that it was rushed and they jammed together the last dungeon story with personal story to save time. They always say ‘when it is ready’ but after several years of this people who fund projects get really nervous (even more nervous than people who want to play the game). Product gets shipped and then back-filled (hopefully).

It is a pain I agree. I recommend leaving it and coming back later. The race of your toon also impact, for me my silvari is easiest due to how I use the camera. Others find the little assuri as the best to use in those situations.

Edit, actually I would love it if they gave me enough mats to make 2 pieces of exotic. 10 ecto and t6 mats. I could either sell the mats, or make a piece of armour/weapon that I could actually use on that toon.

for some reason they have set the equipment loot level to 4 levels below the top map level. if the map is 50-60 you get lvl 56, if 70-80 you get 76, level 80 on cursed shore still gives lvl 76 exotic equip. Don’t know why, ANET have said their loot drops are working the way they want. So I must assume that they think level 80 people really, really want lvl 76 exotic equip (usually being heavy/med for light toons and so on). Out of 4 cursed shore completions I have been able to use the loot 1 time (gave to another toon) so I guess I am lucky.

love ele sceptor/dagger, love ranger longbow with double axe, so maybe there are some things worth using. It is only on mesmer that I am sorry not to use all the weapons though, that is the best thought out arrangement in my opinion.

Maybe if you solo and kill the champ what should have happened was the champ killing you. That way the champ gets kill credit and loot. When you go against fate you lose?

The issue with the dragon chests should only effect people who park characters at dragons and don’t play them anywhere else. Is this what you are doing?

so with 4 lvl 80s I am supposed to move them around zone to zone instead of just parking them. Could as with many things have been mentioned somewhere by ANET.

Pretty much this. The combat system in TERA is inferior to GW2 because of that one lil kitten-up on the part of their devs. They just stopped too soon.

I like the artwork better here though. TERA always felt kind of washed out for me on my system. Where as the scenery here is crisp and colorful.

Played TERA for about an hour during a beta, combat seemed to be see telegraph attack coming, go get a drink and sandwitch, come back move character to side back stand and cast, repeat. What really killed me where how the female characters ran like a duck wanting a little loving, just sick.

I also bought TSW on release, and also had to walk away from it. Too much combat, too mindless. Also, the game was advertised as a game with no levels. But it had experience points and you got skill points to buy skills, which you had to unlock in a specific order. So all they really did was take out the number. You were still leveling.

The real issue for me though was that they didn’t voice the player in the cut scenes. Every quest you got was a monologue. The writing and voice acting was great, but the whole monologue thing made me feel like a mute. I wasn’t even there. Terrible design decision.

In the end, I couldn’t keep playing it. Fortunately for me, I like the game I am playing. lol

People are different I guess since I love that my character does not have a voice. The story and voice acting in TSW is amazing I have never ever listened through story and cut-scenes in any other game but I do at least once, sometimes several times in TSW. Having to run through killing everything to get from one map to another is not my favourite, either is the way they set up the auction house or crafting.

Hi since the last patch Tequatl and to a lesser extent claw of Jormag sometimes do not leave a chest. This has happened to me and several have said the same thing in chat. This started with the last update in January and I have sent in bug reports each time. I have never gotten an answer so I am curious if this is a concern to the company.
Anyone else running into this?

This is the solution to people who do their dailies and it is not being updated. Dailies monthlies are set up long before hand and the server sends out which to do, if your date time is out of sync for your region towards the server time you get the wrong information and you cannot advance. The customer care person did not know what they where talking about which is sad but happens. Send in a ticket so that they will hopefully improve the knowledge of the staff.

Edit: next monthly the WvWvW kills comes back yet again. I am not getting my monthly next month it seems unless they change this.

My female human archer took whisperers top, looks like she is going out to a elegant evening and just stopping by to kill a few unruly mobs, but it is better than most trench-coats.

one piece of advice is not to start with WTF.

hearts and dynamic events really don’t connect all that well. there are several areas where things lead on to future events such as protecting a family home, seeing someone leave in despair then fighting said person when they went over to the enemy side whatever that happens to be. But there is no overarching story connecting the various hearts/events, beside dragons are evil and if you join them people will hunt you down and kill you.

I personally see so little difference that it might as well be zero. I have a set of armour that with boosts will give me about 140%. If I go looking for corrupted loadstones in this or another armour without any MF I still get 1 stone every 2 hours roughly. So for me I just run with the odd 3% on a piece of jewelry and I might snack on a omni bar.

After reading through your posts after the OP I am getting a different impression of what you want, it was not very clearly stated. It is good in my opinion to give advice, if that advice is taken and the group/player benefits great, if not well there are other areas of gameplay so no big deal. Why do all of these super players have trouble finding groups? The forum is filled with people who carry their groups all the time. Why don’t you all get together and form an informal guild? That way no one will ever have to worry about others not knowing what to do or need to be told they are a noob.

Vets and champs drop nothing very very often. I don’t know what they are checking when they say everything is as it should be but for me nothing is not ok. Add to this the vet jellyfish in the north are bugged so that they reset (without moving out of their leash area) and it is just annoying.

Frankly I love the chickens in this game, the Arah expl which is centred on a chicken is really fun storytelling. What is discouraging about the dragons now is that since last update the chest has not been appearing about 30% of the times I have killed Taquatle.

Really? I was just through there on my mesmer and seemed to be lots of things, risen ship to be sunk in sparkfen often champ troll, and of course dragon with risen attacking the research station beside it. Then there is several vet elemetals that guard the portal to the jumping puzzle in maelstrom and several vet events such as the spider in the west of the map. Like I said I had no problem with events there.

all you can do is report, if ANET get enough reports on a specific person they will ask them not to do it again (but this really boils down to doing nothing). Until the 2 can kick is gone or kick just before boss is removed people will keep showing their true nature.

As said you can use your story mode runs toward the 5 dungeons and they are often done on level. AC is a good run all 3 paths can be done at the 30+ range. The lizard spawns extra mobs that need to be taken out usually with aoe on the boss, also stand to the side since it has a nasty cone shaped aoe that shoots out.

AC run yesterday was no different than before the change. I can see the defend Maggs being a problem as the poster above stated but have not tried it since the fix. They did say specifically that these bottlenecks would be looked at and changed. Whether that happens is another story but will wait a few updates to see.

no it is not a requirement but makes almost all combat faster and less expensive in repair bills. Dailies are also not a requirement to play the game.

If you find the ele too much work I suggest a warrior.

There are many bots/people that never leave TP in any starter zone, you could play that game or hundreds of others that are not GW2.

Love ranger and mesmer underwater, guardian works better for me the more mobs there are. Love my ele but the skills they get underwater are bad, basically only use fire and air, seems a waste. Don’t really like spear on any of them. 3D thinking is required to get placement and mob locations so it is quite different than land combat. Necro I can’t seem to get the hang of underwater.

That was a bot or a hack that takes toons from node to node underground or tele.

It must be. I don’t know where the cursed shore is. I just made it to Malchor’s Leap today. Everything is contested, except for a few WP’s.

I didn’t see a soul there except someone who literally popped up from underneath an ore node, blinked in and out for a few seconds and was gone.

I don’t even have a clue what profession that was. Thief maybe? But they sure weren’t helping with anything.

If it’s not like this on all the servers, then maybe I should look for a new one.

I have a mesmer coming up to 80 so I will buy her (a) gear box(es) depending on what they drop. My other 80s don’t need them so I will wait to save up for jewellery pieces.

People will think you are serious and you will have a list of people who would actually do this.

I dont PUG any dungeons because of magic find gear. You can never be sure who is in it and is thus leeching off all your hard work. Thus, I make sure to never do dungeons in PUGs. Not that I do any PvE really anymore. And that is partly, again, due to MF gear.

I know, right? And what about all those with sub-par PCs, bad connections, build and gear I don’t approve of, classes I find weak, people with less than 2000 hours online. All those noobs ruining dungeons, shame on them. They should just go to their noob corner and quit gaming in general, because they are just too noob to be allowed online. The two of us should start a petition to have them banned!

All characters are based on one server. You cannot switch servers now without paying but you can choose to guest on another server. You cannot WvW on those servers however.

So I enjoyed GW2 for a short while with friends before real-life took over for a time and I found myself without any time to play. I intended to jump back in today only to find all my friends have jumped to another server as part of a free transfer that I’ve clearly missed. I figured I’d make another character on that server (as my first one wasn’t all that high level anyway) but I can’t see any way to do that.

Is it possible?
