Got credit for:
- doing some dmg with weapon skills, standing near door when it broke
- using ram couple of times

Have not gotten credit for:
- doing lots of dmg to door
- doing lots of dmg and standing near door
- using ram one time
- building siege
- using treb

Dunno, I think its just plain luck or something weird like you have to do last hit…

Hi,

the absorbed attack doesnt have a time limit (anymore) and it doesnt vanish on changing zones or after diving.

People are abusing this fact by absorbing mossman’s agony attack and using it on for example champ rabsovich or some other boss in fractals.

Tequatl himself isnt that difficult. Killing him with 20 players af()king, 20 players lying dead on the ground yelling for rezz, 30 players respawning and kiting mobs through turret stations, 30 berserker noobs dieing to every wave, 3 turret noobs wanting to get achievements, 1 grief player kicking bloated creepers in zerg/turrets…

THAT’s the challenge ;p

I wouldnt dream of paying to join any guild for whatever purpose I know my own worth.

It’s just that I heard repeatedly of players doing this and I was so shocked about it. And I wont go around doing name-calling, but there’s one commander on EU that joins overflows and writes “Im leading this only if you pay me xx gold”.

I can simply not pay for dungeon paths, but I cant just leave overflow to do tequatl :/

Hi,

I have rather mixed feelings about how everything surrounding Tequatl is evolving in both EU and US communities.

While I dont think it’s that bad to have to organize big events via Voice Chat or even Guildchat, things like having to pay gold to get into those guilds concern me greatly.
I really think this should stop right now, before it becomes common practice.

I know some people have made it their main goal to sell “services” like dungeon paths for gold in GW2, but it really should stop there. A commander that wants gold for leading tequatl events (not talking about gold for food or things like that) is just not my idea of an mmo.

Also the difficulty of this encounter fosters elitism quite a lot. Telling people to leave an overflow just because they arent a certain class or dont have a certain equipment is in my eyes just wrong in pve. Telling it nicely would be slightly less wrong, but calling them all swear words, this just causes so many rifts in communities.

One possible solution would be to set timer to 30 minutes, like jormag. All co-ordinated attempts would have a good chance to make it, uncoordinated wont make it in 15 minutes more either.

What do you think about those developements?

Even if they wanted to keep botusers or grinders or whatever at bay and keep prices stable, they could have set the time limit to 7 per week. In the long run it has the same result with it being possible for casual players to get there.

This forced login once per day is just so they can have a nice statistic to present to their bosses / shareholders / whatever.

See? We have x-million active accounts per day.

Sorry, but that’s for me the only plausible reason for this kind of time gating.

After all, routines are already there (guild missions are once every week, monthly achievement once every month).

No, they want to force us to log in every kittening day. Why? I only see statistics as a reason for that. Not-flooding tp with mats just isn’t a valid point, a time limit per week or month would have the same result, it would even create some interesting dynamics there which would eventually even out.

It’s not the time spent that’s annoying so many, it’s the fact that you are forced to log in every day. If you don’t you miss out on:
- fused crystal
- daily reward / achievement points
- ascended crafting

And while first two are kind of optional – you dont actually NEED celestial stuff and daily reward can be replaced by guild commendations most of it – the third one definitely is not optional anymore.
You don’t have ascended weapon in wvw -> you do quite some dmg less (was it 5%?) Add this to the dmg you loose if you don’t wear ascended trinkets it’s even more.

And yes, having to log in EVERY day is for me a very unsavory version of GRIND. Which anet promised to us would never happen in gw2.

But just as with other problems… playerbase and what they really want… will just be ignored. MMOs always end up being the playground of devs… nothing new there.

Btw, they could have easily set the timelimit to 7 per week. But they didn’t now, did they? Just ask yourself why.

Another thing is, this really is not returned-player-friendly. Just imagine you have a good friend you want to get to play gw2, and then you tell him: yes, well, this is what you have to do:
1. craft to lvl450
2. you have to now log in every day for 30 days
3. do 5 daily achievements each day
to be able to get endgame equip.
You know, I wouldn’t even be able to explain this to any friend with a straight face and without actually considering ending my time with gw2.

I always make a checklist of my own, and did have 63 baubles picked up. Ran exact same route as always just now and got achievement. Might be because I went afk for quite some time in the middle of it even though I didnt have d/c, but honestly dont know.

As to that door, might be another “shortcut” which you need to do some insane jumping for.

Dunno, dont care anymore. Wont touch world 2 ever again. Lets hope world 3 and 4:
a) arent that long and
b) dont require that many balance acts (ledges).

Yeah, last week was pure horror, for AG and us. Logging in in the morning to see what’s daily and seeing we tick with 0 made me want to cry about every 2nd morning. And this week it’s no better.

Nope, not looking forward to it at all.

A league where you can only win by getting people on your server and get them to play 24/7 WvW zergblob isnt any kind of league, it’s a big fat joke. Also it rather smells fishy to me – considering the hundreds of transfers already started… someone sure wanted to sell those server transfers.

Also, there are so many issues simply not solved at all in WvW – like serverlags when fighting in SN, people using two accounts, different time zones, lack of room to roam, etc.

I cant remember… but did we have to pick up all baubles AND kill boss/cage or only pick up all baubles without having to kill boss/cage?
Might be something simple like game “forgets” we picked up all baubles when we port to storm wizard.

Well, it would at least be nice to get a feedback if it’s even really bugged, or if we are just all plain too stupid to find last bauble.
It annoys the heck out of me, and it’s never a good thing to annoy your customers.

Cant be first chest… Ive been there a few times over the last few hours while searching for the last elusive little bauble.
Maybe they only respawn when new players enter instance? But that would be even worse, because it would mean I really am missing one bauble

And I have to admit, missing this one achievement keeps me from enjoying SAB. Everytime I log my character for SAB it reminds me of that missing achievement and I feel forced to go search for baubles again… and I log out again.
Yes, I know Im OCD, but darn… I just dont like not being able to finish something.

I finished all three zones in tribulation mode. And while I did get my achievements for zone 1 and 2, I didnt get the third one. Got token (dont even want it -.-) and got to smash the mine cart. But no achievement.

How can this even happen

I would happily – more than happily – exchange that stupid token against my achievement.

Well, you can get a giant guaranteed every 5ish minutes. If you go with friends or guildies, you’ll spawn a lot more. Not that this is a good solution, its just the best one avaliable.

I still dont understand why you can charge only one per day. I mean… it’s already limited due to the fact that theres only the nodes in home instances left, so why couldnt they just remove that additional limitation? You have to admit, it’s really kind of silly.

5-6 hours every day southsun survival + doing dailys + doing 1-2 dungeons / fractal run + doing 3 dragons = 7-10 hours GW2 every day to make some progression.

Yep, not really something for casual players, as I stated in another thread already.

Casual player usually doesnt top score, so its about 30-50 points a game. 10-15 minutes per game, that makes 9-21 hours. That’s not time spent playing GW2, it’s time spend grinding Southsun Survival minigame.

So, it’s a 2 weeks event, that means Mr(s) Casual has to play 4-6 games Southsun Survival every day. Now, playing a game every day isn’t the definition of “casual”. So we make it 28-42 games a week. Really, nothing casual about it.

If you play casually and you LOVE southsun survival, you might make it, but you wont have time for anything else, resulting in missing out on other stuff, other achievements. If you play casually and you HATE southsun survival, dont even try. It will only result in lots of frustration and maybe curing you from the GW2 bug.

People, please keep in mind: playing GW2 casually often is not a choice. Yes, there is something that is called real-life, with lots of obligations that have nothing to do with an online game.
One might be able to tell the dog to wait cause there’s an achievement to be done, but try this with your husband/kids/wife/work/studies.

The only good thing about this achievement is: it’s “only” 2 points, and so I will try to get tier3 (1,000) which is possible for me and gonna remember this achievement when Im 2 points short for achievement chest.

Btw, this achievement is in no way comparable to Crabtastic (last one standing holding crab). It took me a few tries, but I got it done in a reasonable amount of time. But with this achievement there’s no way for me and that’s just plain frustrating.
For me this minigame is boring and time consuming. The achievement smells a lot like something called “time sink” which is something Anet stated they wont do to make GW2 a game for casual players.
Well, Anet. You just crossed the line. You may proudly call your product now: Grind Wars 2. Congratulations.

Ive played 15 games, every single one of these took forever because of exactly this. I tried the “die first and kill campers with karkas tactic”… got even a few 2nd place for it… but that’s just meh.
Tried staying alive and sniper campers… got first place for it but still took me forever to find last guy. Even though I had 5 ghosts searching with me.

Wasted over two hours on those 15 games. Had absolutely no fun at all. Got Desert Rose, sold it. The only reason for me to keep on spending time there would be the 2,500 points achievement and you can bet that I will do absolute minimum to get this done. Translation: die fast, spawn 2-3 karkas, and do something interesting while akitteng.

Forcing people to play a minigame they dont like for achievements is bad enough. Forcing them to spend DAYS playing this minigame, that’s just ridiculous.

Set achievement to 1,000 points. It still is a grind, but it can be done in the same amount of time needed to get other minigame achievements in the past.

1,000 points would be okay… still a grind, but okay. But 2,500… no. That’s just too much.

With an average of 30 points, you have to do about 5-6 games a day to fill that quota for the next two weeks.

That’s a loaded question, because as a lot of players decided in the past to play “bad kitten ” races in mmos, here its the same. Sometimes its just more fun to be bad.

And honestly, we did all that. We saved settlers, set things to right, found a murderer, exterminated crazy mai. Isn’t it now time to be bad?

Challenging O_O That minigame is everything, but not at all challenging. You even can remember spawn points of food so you wont trigger a trap. There is absolutely nothing challenging about it. It might be fun if it were faster… and shorter… with less grind. But as it is, it is just boring with mistform actually being the only funny thing about it.

I would be happy if they were just coded correctly. But I have horrible lags in all things that use aspect skills. Sanctum sprint, arena and the only way I could get all those crystals done was by staying up until 4 am so nobody was in labyrinthe cliffs anymore, using those skills. As soon as someone uses them → timeouts → lags, resulting often in 7:11 error msg.

You see someone just pop up dead in front of you in arena? Thats the reason.

I really couldnt care less about meta… its about achievement points.

Lets just face it… its boring. Start takes way too long, getting supplies isnt really that interesting because at the beginning EVERYBODY is just gathering supplies.

Then you get to use some headshots… and a couple few just run away… hide… until they dont have any supplies anymore and die.

Map is way too big, skills are way too slow for this to have even the slightest potential of being interesting.

I mean, aspect thingy is bad enough for all those who experience lots of lags in sanctum sprint and arena. But at least its over in a few hours.

Yeah, force people to stick to even more of a schedule…. it’s bad enough as it is with daily, monthly, reset of ori nodes, guild commendations, daily fractal.

I swear, to get all those scheduled things done properly, I need an ingame calendar with reminder-function.

To make this even more complicated by adding an internal counter with weekly reset… then Im back to playing the trading post because honestly, that wasnt that hard to keep track of as this.

Btw, does anybody have a clue if this will be character bound or account bound? Because atm Im running two paths cof and coe with about 8 characters a day… character bound wouldnt change that routine at all. Account bound I wouldnt play 5 of my characters anymore ^^ Guess which ones

Uhm, anchor doesnt mean full pvt set btw. It means getting above a certain amount of toughness to make sure you have quite a bit more than zerker geared players and still doing good dmg.

Most anchor builds use knight-armor, zerker weapons and trinkets. Or – if you only play with guild group – only 3 pieces knight, everything else zerker.

And yes, it works It just doesnt work very well with pvt geared players in a group or with certain mobs that imo dont work properly.

We started out with you saying staff is all the time bad. Now its suddenly about PVT gear or mf gear? Later one because someone posted a screenshot showing us a guardian with mf sigil. Because, yeah, him wearing scepter (or was it staff? idc) with mf sigil automatically means he has mf gear and pvt gear and… and anyway, he’s using staff/scepter !

Also wheretheheck did I say anything about pvt gear or mf gear or any build/gear for that matter being good? I didnt. You are interpreting way more in any of my posts, mixing them up, then there actually is.

All Im saying is that:
a) there are situations where staff/scepter can be useful
b) everybody has the right to run the build they like without being insulted for it
c) everybody has the right to play with whomever they like
d) calling oneself “elitist” doesnt mean one actually knows everything and has the right to criticize everybody not fitting into a certain mold.

But this thread isnt about warrior, it is about ranger dps, the mexican cookie.

Colesy, I havent seen a single video of those posted here – and I watched it all, cringed a lot – showing a good ranger.

The only thing those videos show is that ranger is hard to play and warrior is easy. No argument there.

Im done here. Read my test results and think about it. Stop insulting people you dont even know, nevermind having played with them. Keep on doing your little tests to underline your preconceived opinions, thereby coloring your own test results.
Lvl2 rangers? Please, I would have been ashamed to even dream up such a test.
