There’s not much point in going to Cantha, considering all the Elder dragons seem to be focused around the area’s we already have on the map.

That IS the main focus of this game more or less, defeating the Elder Dragons.

So I’ve had some musing in the past couple days over various plot-points and the like that you encounter during the Personal Story, (Specifically when you’re in Orr.)

With the expansion coming I’ve been working on finishing up the personal storyline on some of my characters, and I’ve noticed a couple things that might imply the Elder Dragon’s may be a bit craftier than previously thought.

First, after seeing the animation for the mission in Orr where you use the Searing Cauldron to wreck some undead Prince, and then recalling how Post-Searing Ascalon looked in GW1.

I started wondering if the Searing Cauldrons are possibly some sort of tool left behind by Kralkatorrik. Since when he flew south over Ascalon he left behind the Dragonbrand which appears quite similar.

Second, when doing the Source of Orr mission where you help Trahearne ‘cleanse’ Orr… it occurred to me just how horrible an idea that was.

According to the newest info, Sylvari are the minions of Mordremoth, or at least were intended to be. And Trahearne is a Sylvari. The sword he used to ‘cleanse’ Orr was given to him by the Pale Tree. And Caladbolg itself is very plant-like.

So I mentioned my musings out loud to my guildies on teamspeak, and we came to the conclusion that it’s entirely possible we essentially just gave Mordremoth some sort of possible control over Orr. That some of the Charr’s most powerful magic ever is a relic of Kralkatorrik, and that we’re totally screwed.

TL;DR: Did we essentially give Mordremoth some influence over Orr when we let Trahearne ‘cleanse’ the Source of Orr with Caladbolg?

Kinda curious what other people’s thoughts on my observations are.

Honestly, I think a completely unexpected race is a possibility, since there’s sort of a hint of a race (Mursaat, maybe? Their home is supposed to be deep in the Maguuma…), but I doubt it’ll be Tengu just yet.

Soooo the mursaat came back in total secrecy over the last 250 years without anyone knowing of their existence?

I doubt.
Not to mention, as far as we know, there is only 1 left.

Just to point out, I have a hard time believing that the entire Mursaat race left their city just to go play with the silly little humans and whatnot.

That would be like every single human on Earth getting into a spaceship to go fight a war on some other planet. EVEN THE ELDERLY AND THE CHILDREN.

There could easily be an entire city/country/etc. full of Mursaat.

Edit: Attached a screenshot of the possible ‘Mursaat’ It looks vaguely similar to how they looked in GW1, with plenty of allowance for style change between then and now etc.

Carapace Armor Box VS Black Lion Key

I actually got my third glove box out of one of the Lost Bandit chests. So you don’t have to set a single foot into the Labyrinth if you don’t want to. You can farm up the 1000 crests and get it that way, or try your hand at the buried chests.

2000 chrests on gloves.
2000 – chest
2000 – leggins
2000 – boots
2000 – helm

farm farm farm MORE farm for the God of Farm. Dont you think that you should have more time to play and not to grind ? Its like you can spent some time with your friends but “NO! Silver Wastes and chrest farm avaits!” … just like that.

Pathetic.

Except for all we know they might go back to getting bonus armor chests for each character, or introduce some new/better way to get the armor chests, or bandit crests.

There’s really no point to complaining about the armor’s that aren’t out yet until they’re out.

When I was first reading about Ebonhawke way back I was SO hopeful there would be open PvP against the Charr as we try to hold them back, and even reclaim the Ascalonian homeland. I still occasionally go back to GW1 just to go north of the Wall and decimate the Charr forces out there.

I actually refused to do the one heart quest in the Charr homeland that has you help to destroy the wall, when I came across that heart I was literally angry. I did eventually get it done by doing events nearby though.

Labyrinth is an armor repair grind

in Living World

Posted by: Ykfox.3825

Ykfox.3825

I’ve actually been having a blast in the Labyrinth on my thief, since I try specifically not to use the flower/pollen thing, and rely only on stealth.

It’s pretty fun, and can be pretty challenging to be running around with limited stealth abilities, and see how long you can last before you get tagged. Plus since you have chances to get things like exotics, and the glove armor chest out of the nightmare pods, it’s rewarding enough that I don’t feel like I’m wasting time.

(Sometimes I use the pollen things, but just when I really want to try and get the chest.)

Why is exotic gear so easy to get ?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ykfox.3825

Ykfox.3825

I think by grinding for skins he meant the other generally unique skins, Immobulus, Infinite Light, etc. Not necessarily Ascended Armor/etc.

Exotic gear is easy to get now, because the game has been out for 2+ year’s, so everyone knows the easy ways to get exotic gear, and are more focused on working on the rarer skins.

Please Cap Loot! (Controversial Suggestion)

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I’m pretty sure even if there was a loot cap people would still zerg. Simply because it’s just easier/faster to kill stuff in a zerg, and even if you hit this ‘X amount of items per minute’ loot cap, most people seem to run with a zerg for potentially hours at a time.

And they are reading the serious threads, case in point Gaile’s posts about the infamous Engineer Hobo-sack. There’s finally proof that Dev’s are looking at solutions for the poor Hobo-gineer’s.

Honestly, it’s not that bad. I’ve leveled a new character up to 45+, and it’s actually just as easy and fun as it used to be. The delay in getting the weapon skills actually made me appreciate them a little bit more then I otherwise would have.

Admittedly, I didn’t like the concept of the vista’s/skill-points being level gated, but they seem to have fixed that for accounts that already unlocked them.

Mounts [merged]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ykfox.3825

Ykfox.3825

The maps in GW2 are small enough that you don’t need mounts, if you’re traveling far enough that you would need a mount, you can just waypoint closer to your destination.

Silverwastes doesn’t need more waypoints either, since it’s small enough that you can get from one side to the other ridiculously quick. Even without any speedbuff’s active on a character.

The only possible way to justify mounts would be to remove the waypoints altogether, which would be AWFUL.

You could, arguably put in mounts for appearance only, but then people would complain about not getting a speedbuff/etc. And if they added speedbuff’s people would demand mounted combat, etc. etc.

End result is no matter how they implement mounts, it would snowball into more and more work for ANet. I’d rather they focus on adding new zones/etc. which everyone will enjoy to some degree, rather then mounts which only a percentage of player’s would want/enjoy. (At least, want/enjoy more than new zones.)

NPE 2 months later - How do you feel?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Ykfox.3825

Because vets do roll new characters from time to time and we can remember the time that …

It’s bad enough to play someone so underpowered compared to the tricked out 80 you had been playing but adding in limitations until you are level X to be able to do Y can grate a bit.

This is partly the point i was trying to make with it making it so new players have the time with each skill/util/trait to figure out it’s ins and outs. I can understand being annoying but the only argument is that it’s not what you were used to.

A more important argument is what was mentioned about the ps being changed. Which i feel wouldnt be a problem wasn’t that the cap is 80(seriously, that’s way too high…)

Off topic though… Why is everyone getting a like(+1) except my first post… even the person asking what the npe was got a like… T.T

For reference, that +1 point you see next to everyone’s post? That’s so YOU can +1 that post. Obviously you can’t +1 your own post’s, so you don’t see it next to your own earlier post.
