That means you have adware/malware/a virus on your computer, not GW2’s fault.
You have to consider though, that ‘exclusivity’ in a game is also a way of saying ‘I was there.’
It’s fine for you to want stuff, but you weren’t there. Does that mean that the people who were there don’t deserve any recognition of that fact? Do they not deserve to have something to show for being with the game longer then you?
You say that people who wants stuff to be exclusive is greedy, but your post is full of hypocrisy.
I still have my Emissary of the Mad King title, it’s exclusive. So is the Celebration Hat skin. There’s plenty of exclusive stuff left in the game. I’m honestly glad they’re bringing some stuff back.
The only thing’s that should remain exclusive imo are some of the titles, and the Celebration Hat. (The hat since it was a ‘you were there for the headstart’ thing.)
That said, the rare weapon skins/etc. should remain rare.
This is probably one of the best ways ANet could have done this. It annoys the people who had/have the skins, but it’s not TOO bad because it’s not making them stupidly common. At the same time people who want them at least have a slight chance at getting them now.
Neither side is happy, which means that ANet did exactly the right thing. They compromised with both sides.
100 only for the two rarest, 200 for the ones that were more common.
They are bringing the weapon skins back, in limited number. Go check out the nice little skritt who wants shiny candy wrappers in LA.
They’ll basically raffle off 100 Ghastly Shields/Greatsaws, and 200 of each of the other skins it looks like.
So uh… Oswald. As in Oswald Thorn perchance? It’s an honor to meet you, King Thorn.
Y’know you all just got trolled by the Mad King himself right?
I’d say ANet should just look at which event chains have people regularly failing the event on purpose then just buff the reward for the event that’s at the end of the chain.
If you say so….I know how it feels to be bullied and the situation I am talking about I was bullied. I did not name the Guild…. and I won’t someone else brought up TTS. And as for joining a TS of another guilds that could be a catastrophe if everyone and their brother can jump into a guild TS thats not apart of it. Can you say ‘Spy’ and Pure flaming from people who are on voice. I can see how that TS will go during an event. At any rate….I know what was going on and the guild I am speaking of might have been organizing the event but they went about it very harsh and wrong in my opinion.
Sounds like you are talking about a different guild from TTS tbh. I know there are several who mange to organize Teq/TT runs…
With regards to the TS problem you mentioned, generally there are Guild-TS admin’s on who are capable of muting/booting anyone who is being abusive/etc. (flaming), and they typically can lock basically every TS channel so that even if you hop on when there’s no raids/etc. You’ll just be in a sort of generic lobby.
Come to think of it… aren’t we due a weekly BLTC update from our favourite Ebeneezer Charr?
Nope, those usually comes the week when we don’t have patches and I seem to recall that all the Halloween thingies was added last Tuesday.
I could swear they were every week regardless… I also fully expect them to bring back the Halloween themed outfits again (Witch, Thorn, etc.) from previous years, which would be included in a “today” update.
I don’t know if you’ve been on the game, but those outfits have been in the gem store for a week now, as well as a new halloween costume.
I have. The raiment I don’t really consider new per se, since it’s a GW1 rehash. (Own it there, cba to buy it again.) The other ones were put back without being announced and are allll the way at the bottom of the Style section for some reason (specifically Executioner and Bloody Prince).
I.e. they’re easily overlooked, which doesn’t seem a logical way to treat stuff you’re putting back in only temporarily.
That’s really weird, for me all the Halloween costumes are at the absolute top of the style section of the gem store….
@Scrribble: There are in fact bogus ‘TTS’ guilds that troll actual TTS run raids I’m told.
Also, no one has to join TTS to use their TS or go to their raids, although members do get a slight advantage sometimes. Which is only natural.
@RuneCrimson: If you have been talking about TTS…. you do NOT have to be in their guild to go on to their TS during raids. They only ask you to go on so you can hear them call out the different situations/etc. Which makes the raid go smoother.
They do ask that anyone in a TTS guild reps during their ‘official TTS’ raids so that they can gain at least some influence because they are attempting to unlock the ability to do guild missions/start world events like Teq/Triple Trouble whenever they want to.
Edit:
@joe: You’re correct, they don’t require you to be on TS during raids, they do prefer people to be on so that they can hear them explain what happens during fights and so they can call out situations that require people to react to them.

I’ve never actually heard of any guild even trying something like this…
Edit: @CMM – It sounds like you’re referring to TTS/other large guilds that set up for Tequatl/Triple Trouble events. Usually the reason they jump to a ‘clean’ map is because the map they’re on has lots of people who are off doing other things/just not listening. By jumping to a clean map they get more room to taxi people in who want to do the event successfully and will listen (Increasing the chance of it being successful.)

I don’t think I’ve ever done this mission, which one is it?
Well it could theoretically just be made so if you do x% damage to Jormag you get a small chance of getting it as loot automatically.
Or maybe add a small achievement track that doesn’t give AP wherein once you’ve beaten Jormag x times you get it as a reward.
This would make more sense if it were posted in the pvp subforum…
Speaking of plot twists, what if ol’ Palawa Joko had already clobbered that rascal dragon?
That would be pretty terrifying, Palawa with an Elder Dragon’s corpse…
I can’t see how anyone would justify that lore-wise/storyline-wise. I mean… Palawa’s off in Elona, doing his thing, and not a thread to anyone atm. Jormag, Primordus or even the Deep Sea Dragon seem more likely to happen before Kralkatorrik/Elona.
Also, side-note; killing the Deep Sea Dragon would allow travel to Cantha AND Elona in theory, since iirc that dragon is the one stopping major ocean travel.
To point out, they keep bringing the Watchwork pick back every now and then. It’s not like it won’t appear again at some point in the gem shop.
Except blueprint bags actually make a sort of sense especially with account wide Commander tags now. I’ve never heard or seen anyone ask for an unlimited gathering tools BAG though, just some sort of character slot for them….
The wiki knows all…
Haven’t read the entire thread I admit, but the only ideas I have shall be posted, just to get them out and on the thread.
Not sure if it’d be possible, but it might be kind of cool to make it so different size guilds need different size guild halls. So a larger guild needs a larger guild hall etc.
Another idea would be to do something like what they did in the Log Horizon anime, and either change current cities/add new cities and make it so guilds actually buy entire buildings in those cities that function as Guild Halls. This has the added advantage of allowing ANet to make the cities more immersive.
I can just imagine guilds buying some of those far flung buildings in Divinity’s Reach that you can only see way up on the wall. Or maybe buying a set of rooms high up on the Pale Tree/etc.
Honestly I don’t really mind the idea of ANet adding a new bag that would contain only blueprints, if only to save bank/regular bag space.
The problem with having hard content is not everyone gets to do it. I get that some people at least enjoy being challenged, but I’d rather see ANet introduce a Hard mode specifically for dungeons/instances/etc. rather then just add new content that’s hard for everyone no matter what.
That way you can satisfy the people who just want to go in and see the content without it being impossible for them to do, and the people who want more challenge could have that.
I believe the event you’re referring to is the ‘Defeat the Lady in White’ event. Search that on the wiki and you should be able to find the info you need to do the event again, I imagine.
I’m pretty sure you can hit F11, go to the bottom tab and keybind it to some other key, not sure if that’ll help, but you can keybind it to another button on your mouse as an example.
So, it seems to me like the biggest problem with WvW is that you siege keeps… in minutes.
Taking a keep should be a lot more impressive feeling than it is. This is a giant castle you’re attacking, protected by a Lord and his men. And yet you can get a ragtag group of random heroes and smash your way in like the walls are made of sand.
So I tried to imagine something that would make taking a keep feel impressive. I wish Anet would add a map that has more of an actual siege scenario. Make it so one team Defends a Keep, and that is their main and only goal to win. The other teams are racing to be the first to actually take the keep.
So basically, team A is defending in a giant fortress, with walls that are incredibly difficult to take down and don’t go down in minutes, limited supply that’s replenished by the EotM supply drops, with two attacking teams on either side.
The two attacking teams each have a small staging ground defended by strong NPC’s to store supply and build Trebuchet’s etc. in. To get more supply for their siege equipment they have to escort supply caravans in to their staging ground. With Team C being able to attack Team B’s staging ground and supply caravans to hinder them, (and vice versa of course.)
This may not be the best possible implementation, but I have to admit I’d enjoy it a lot more then the current WvW, where Keeps are apparently made of sand.
Play both, decide which you find more fun, roll with it. There’s no reason not to have lots of characters in this game.
I think everyone would be a lot more relaxed if the bar brawl minigame had ever been implemented, we’d all be taking our frustrations out in brawls.
Welp, I stand corrected, there are mentions of Wyverns I suppose. Although I’m fairly sure there’s nothing that actually refers to a Wyvern as an actual existing creature in GW1….
Consider the fact that exotics have upgrade slots and ascendeds have infusion slots. Infusions have very little bonus while upgrades have huge. Upgraded exotic vs ascended have a small difference (the 5% might be accurate). But I don’t have exact numbers, maybe someone else can help you with that.
Uh… Ascended weapons have infusion slots AND upgrade slots. And unless the wiki is blatantly lying to me the armor retains it’s upgrade slots as well.
I don’t recall there being any mention of Wyverns anywhere at all in Guild Wars 1…
I honestly think they should take it back to the way it was originally going to be, with players that are helping earning Karma/Experience.
I love this achievement honestly, gives me a good reason to go back to areas I’ve not been to in a while and kill old enemies.
Supposedly ANet has stated that just because it’s been datamined doesn’t mean anything. That said, this woul disappoint me quite a lot.
Speaking for myself, I don’t specifically want ‘endgame’ content, I’d prefer just general content that could be accessed regardless of level.
Specifically more mini games, like the infamous Bar Brawls and Polymock. I’d also kind of like the see some sort of mini game wherein we get to build a customized Asuran Golem and then fight other players’ golems.
What would the title God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals give as an effect though? Immortality?
Edit: @ Esplen, GW1 Title bonuses were not, in fact separate from the title track selected. If you wanted say, the Norn title bonus active in EotN, you had to be using the Norn title. You also had to be in ‘Norn’ areas for the title to take effect, but that’s beside the point.
My Guardian that I’ve had since day 1. He’s always been my main character, as proven by all the money invested in him. Although I’ve never gone for a legendary, yet.
Unfortunately, I was busy when the Living Story was doing the events where you could get the Selfless Potion, or I’d definitely rock that out too.
That’s some nice stuff mate, what’s your gear?
Chest and Legs are Human T3 Cultural, Shoulders are T2 Cultural. The Gloves, Helmet, and Boots in that screenshot are Phalanx Gemstore skin, although I occasionally swap the gloves out for Draconic since they also go well with the armor. The backitem is the Light of Dwayna. Staff skin is Phoenix.
Naturally, every now and then I get tired of the helmet, so I put on my Celebration hat.
The Fellblade… is kind of purple? Other then that, there’s the Peacemaker’s Greatsword (Asuran Tier3 Cultural Weapon), the Nightmare Greatsword (Twilight Arbor Dungeon), Vision of the Mists (Mystic Forge recipe), and then there’s technically the Wupwup’s Greatsword, which is sort of purple.

Actually, all of those outfits have been released I think…
For Guild Wars 1.
Honestly I’d like it if they introduced fishing, but then as a twist they made it so the idea is to find the rare/exotic fishies, and then sell them for gold coins at a Fish Merchant.
How often do you actually even look at your mini if you’re out and out running somewhere….
The important thing is that once you get there your mini magically appears there with you.
Considering a way to use Miniature’s from anywhere on any character without taking up bag space has been one of the most asked for features practically since launc, I find it funny you listed it as ‘meh’.
So I’ve noticed a trend lately, where a lot of people complain about a lack of things to do. I can understand, but at the same time I get the feeling part of ANet’s problem in making new content for us is that they don’t seem to know what we want. Do we want new raids? Dungeons? Maps? Storyline?
So, I can’t help but think there needs to be a simple topic for ANet to be able to look at. Will this be that topic? Probably not, but I figure why not see what other people think anyways.
TL;DR: In 10 words or less, state what area you think ANet needs to focus on the most.
I’d like new maps and Mini games.
The irony of it all is that anyone can join TTS, download TS, and then get instant-successful Teq/Triple Trouble/Etc raids anytime they want.
Honestly I really hope someone at ANet gets some sense and scraps the entire idea of giving us our storyline in chunks… it’s a horrible idea.
It also helped give you ideas of where to go when leveling. Especially at later levels.
From the sounds of it it’s going to be changed to be like in the Chinese game where from what people are saying you unlock the level 1-10 storyline etc. at level 10.
This would be a bad thing.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who has an incredibly easy time doing the Personal Story missions, even when doing missions that claim to be 5 or even sometimes 10 levels higher then the one I’m at. I sometimes enjoy trying to see just how far beyond my actual level I can get before the mobs just brutalize me.
Anet, if you dole out the personal story in chunks like your planning you’re going to remove a big part of the challenge to something that’s already basically so easy it’s more tedious then amusing.
I get that you’re trying to make the game better for people new to the game, honest. I think it’s great, but the personal story system is FINE the way it is. It’s been fine, other then needing better rewards.
Basically, stop holding the hands of all the new players ANet. It’s fine to add a better tutorial, and better rewards, but don’t kill the only challenge we were getting out of the Personal Story.
Honestly I hope if they re-release them they maybe add a few changes so that the originals are still ‘unique’ and desirable in some form, while still giving new people the chance to get them.
Yes, I was around for that First Halloween, and Yes I have two GG Rifle skins even now. My point is valid. People want the skins re-released so they can get them without shelling out major amounts of gold.
People who were there don’t want them re-released because they were incredibly hard to farm.
Re-releasing with some minor changes theoretically pleases both crowds.
