Is silverwastes chest farming still a thing? That’s what I did to make a lot when I made my legendary and what I’m looking to do again if it’s still a good option.
I am wondering if the Wintersday items that are purchasable from the Black Lion Gem Store are only available during Wintersday or if they periodically appear for purchase. I really like the Ice Encasement outfit and it would be a shame to wait a year.
Hello, my wife forgot her password. We went through the steps to get it back but she hasnt been online in like 3 years so she cant remember her character names. She wants to come back to the game but she can only remember her main character and thats it. What can we do to get her password back?
I left as well as all my other friends. We are all enjoying d3 at the moment. This is the first time in a long time I’ve been to these forums and just decided hey why not this morning. I have had exactly 4 people ask me about hot and I tell them what I think and I know 4 people who have not purchased it.
I was SOOO excited for hot…. before it came out… I’m super bored of it, I hate that raids weren’t already in the game, I don’t like not having our 3 new legendaries, I HATE then when we do get access to our legendaries it will all be a gold grind or bust out the credit card situation. I know they do that so we buy gems which just makes me angry and resentful. Think it’s time for me to go back to wow, they are bringing everything I loved about gw2 to wow anyway and don’t want me to use my credit card to get gear. I get to actually ya know, play the game. Been a gw2 player since the first beta weekend and the magic is gone.
I’m not sure if hot is more grindy or equally grindy but you sure as hell notice the grind more in gw2. I’m a long time gw2 player (since beta) and a vet of wow as well and I can tell you that what ever grind you have to do in WoW Is less noticeable because of the reward structure. You work for everything other than the occasional hyper expensive mount (for which you farm gold). When new content in WoW comes out you know you can earn that reward by either being a good enough players or playing the content (not farming for more gold). Not only does wow feel less grindy due to the nature of the content you’re doing, but you also see your character getting stronger (yay for 10% better ascended or whatever % it’s at now? Lol). When I finished shadowmourne not only was it an insane journey (for which I farmed zero gold) but when I got it the axe accumulated souls as I killed things and then would burst those souls outward doing amazing damage. When I finished twilight i…. well had space looking footprints? Lol I like the sword but all the gameplay (gold farming) just burned me out. I love both games very much but I believe gw2s reward system is severely flawed and tries to make you take out your wallet any time something cool comes out.
I think you will see a different cost approach than the older legendaries. Lindsey Murdock said that the older precursor collections were designed so that they were competitive enough with the current precursor prices on the TP.
With the newer precursors, there is no need to balance this.
However, please don’t expect new legendaries to be cheap at all.
I honestly expect them to be just as expensive as the older ones, but with more non-monetary tasks that need to be done.
I don’t expect them to be cheap or easy. I just don’t want the best way to aquire them to be heading to silverwates and chest farming.
Well that’s the best way to make gold, so unless you were expecting a legendary to cost 200 gold or so…
Well I guess I should specify. I know the finished legendary will be expensive and requiring farming. I just hope the finished precursor will be attainable through activities in the game that aren’t centered around farming gold. You know, a lot like they described it going around the world and completing things. They didn’t really talk about the expense other than the t6 mats for gifts etc.

There’s a lot of talk on the legacy precursors and their cost of aquisition. It’s clear that the cost is based on not breaking the economy and the current market in place for precursors. However…. since the new legendaries can not be sold nor can their precursors do you think they will still have a high gold cost for the second tier? I really hope the new precursors will be about the journey of getting it and not just a gold grind. What do you all think?
I was going to run valk but decided on zerker anyway. The problem with valk is you are stuck with death perception and decimate defenses. If you don’t go the valk route you can take dhuumfire which ends up being like a 2.3k burn tick on top of your other power damage. It’s pretty insane.
I don’t lead events with mine, I just like to put it up as i’m running around so people can ask me questions if they have them. If I can answer them I will and if I can’t I won’t or I’ll look it up for them.
I don’t even mind RNG but make it like you need 50 (insert token name here) and each meta event awards between 1 and 3 tokens. However, if you get 200% participation there’s still that small chance of getting it. At least every time Im disappointed that I didn’t get it I can be happy about working towards it. Or add it to the vendor and make it cost 5000 parts. Give us a guaranteed way to get it eventually.
And when your map fails at reaching t4 at the last second youve wasted almost 2 hours of your time…. I hate having a small amount of free time just to waste it on having a bad map.
I think the RNG prevents this item from being overused to the point where it isn’t unique anymore. This is a fairly flashy item. Even if the other mats take a while, people will find a way to shorten that time if there is no RNG. Just look at legendary greatswords. They are legendaries, and still they are seen quite commonly.
I wouldn’t want Nightfury to be something seen as commonly as those greatswords are. Would kind of ruin the feeling of awesomeness when you see someone with it.
A toy is only cool and fun if NOBODY else has it too. That’s what my friends 4 year old daughter thinks too.
Was it just a reward chest inside the meta chest? How many others acquired it in your instance? Was your map full?
It was a Bladed Coat Box inside the side chest, I believe everyone with max participation got one and the map was capped.
You aren’t for sure if everyone got one? It could of just been you. If everyone had gotten the Bladed Top in your map, Then I’ll put this all to rest & help confirm the drop location & such.

I’ve never intentionally tried to enter any meta event. I’ve especially never tried to get a specific type of loot from any kind of event. In just casually playing over the weekend I ended up with two pieces of Bladed Armor. I also had a ton of fun the whole time since I wasn’t disappointed at not getting anything specific. Quite the opposite, I apparently got two pieces of kitten armor! Every bag was something new, not something I didn’t get.
What if it doesnt drop from the meta event? I havent seen or heard from anyone (with proof) that has it. If you look at the itzel masteries there is one called Itzel Leadership. It says that you gain the ability to challenge their enemies champion to “claim a valuable prize”. Maybe thats how you get the chest?
For the people who have the itzel mastery, they believed the same thing, some of these people where charged with killing X boss because they had the mastery & got nothing but blues & greens & a crowbar.

I wonder if you need itzel leadership. It says you can challenge their enemys champion and earn a daily prize. Maybe the chest comes from this as the other pieces are sold by the itzel.
Are people REALLY complaining about an ascended item that’s supposed to be rare? It’s one of the ONLY items in the game with this kind of effect…do you people want EVERYONE running around with it?
If I had this item the thing that would make it awesome is the effect. Idgaf how many people have it. I wanted it to make an awesome looking outfit that would blend well with other items. 2.5k-3k gold for a shoulder effect is… stupid. Why are things only cool if nobody else has them? It’s a great way to kitten on everyone else. It’s sad so many people get so much enjoyment from people’s envy for them. And in reality nobody is feeling actual envy over pixels. Those people just imagine that everyone thinks they are awesome when in actuality nobody cares unless they have it.
Someone did the maths and it costs 3K+ gold to make this piece of garbage, like seriously what they were thinking? I did not remember Harold grinding to get Toothless in the movie…
They don’t want you to grind, they don’t want you to go on a journey and earn them through playing. They want you to open your wallet so they can continue to not charge a sub but still make a butt load of money. I’d rather pay a sub and just have a fun experience getting cool items.
Why can’t they just understand the concept of making a fun adventure that leads to an awesome cosmetic item without breaking the bank? I have less than 200g on my account and will never see these because of this recipe cost. But hey, it makes business sense. Give one of the coolest looking items a huge gold sink and people will buy gems. Too bad…
Here’s what I really want to know. If the old precursors have a bunch of gold tied to their creation as to not damage the market, i’m curious how much the new ones will be or if it will be a different system. Since you can’t buy the new ones the market won’t be affected. Maybe we can get away with just doing a bunch of fun events to build it. I really hope that’s the case.
Here’s my take on things (like I’m important or something lol). I wasn’t happy with gating behind masteries. I wasn’t happy with how long it takes to aquire those masteries. The jungle is a scary place at first and I felt intimidated and lost. As I continue to play I unlock more of the masteries and I’m losing any fear I had of being in the jungle. I learned to drop my zerker gear for more tanky stats. There are still scary places of the jungle (poison at the moment to be specific) that I cant currently overcome. However, it is a great feeling being able to fight pretty much anything and if things go south Im not afraid to jump off of a cliff and ride the gusts of wind upward. I still hate not having my reaper fully unlocked and disagree with how they handled hero points but the mastery system really makes my character feel like I’ve adapted to the harsh conditions of the jungle. Almost like Robin Williams in jumangi rofl
The issue is to many people complained it’s not hard enough even though in any mmo open world pve isn’t supposed to be this insane.
Anet really messed up here. Raids and high level fractals were brought in to please these people. But the new maps feel like a giant raid with no one around.
If they decrease the difficulty these elite people with there 24 packs of mountain dew and hot pockets will complain like crazy instead of just staying in raids and fractals where they belong. Or in ff14 or wow
Hey!! Stop right there…. I for one am dissatisfied by the content but I STILL bought mt dew and hot pockets before launch. Oh and I didn’t buy a 24 pack… mainly because code red is only in 12 packs so I had to buy 2.

It’s the new bladed armor you get from the itzl or however you spell it. They cost 500 airship parts each and you have to have the mastery for speaking to them complete.
And that’s precisely people should first try, then whine if/when appropriate. Some may even have valid reasons to, but unless they know what they’re complaining about, no credibility whatsoever.

I wouldnt say im weak, I dont have the options I would have other wise. Like for example, I cant run decimate defense and use valk gear. I need to use zerker to get the same damage. I do have an option though. I dont mind not being the best right away I just want to have the ABILITY to use what I am spending points on.

I want challenge, I love hard content… I WANT TO kittenING DO IT ON MY REAPER! Bring on the challenge!! Don’t make me redo it for the sake of fun when I should have been having fun on my reaper from the start! Hell yes I’m yelling and hell yea I’m mad.
Let’s just all get everything at launch right away. So then the masses can complain again for 3 years of no content! Hurrah!
Too bad we have some gullible players who can’t tell the difference between “content” and “mindless, easy repetitive gating in order to unlock content”.
If anything, the current gating for specializations is a smoke screen to how little real content HoT has.

Seriously people. Elite spec is kinda like a new class, which MMO has ever released a new class that you get fully unlocked from the get go?
Like a new class you start playing it bare and you build on it as you play, you dont get full access to everything the class offers on day 1. Seriously this community can be perplexing at times
This is a bunch of crap. In other games you level up a new class in old content. When you hit the NEW content you have most of what you need to actually PLAY with it. There might be a new skill or ability available at max level but not the entire class… when legion comes out you can bet a new demon hunter will be able to enjoy the new content with a new toy which is what elite specs were supposed to be.
No one — especially me — is diminishing the thoughts, concerns, and input on this subject being share by our forum members. But I believe that it is premature to make a comment about “forever” in the context of a game that has been playable for less than 24 hours.
I stand by that, for it is what I believe. I believe that time will give everyone a better view of this situation. The outcome may be that it’s seen that yes, the difficulty is too high. The outcome may be that eventually, the number if seen as reasonable and properly attainable.
I think that all of us — players and developers alike — do not have sufficient information yet to know what the “sweet spot” is. I suggest we allow us to get the info with the passage of time.
The difficulty isn’t too high. The fact that by the time you get it, you’ve already gone through more than half the maps is the issue. If they were all put in the first area, there would at least be three maps to experience at our own pace and explore for the sake of exploring instead of because we’re forced to in order to get the class mechanics (Which were designed to fill holes in the base classes) to function fully.

I hate having to play the new content to reach the content I want (reaper). This isnt fun and I need to take a 10 minute break every 20 minutes to bring down my frustration with not being able to find these stupid challenges. Im extremely frustrated and just want to quit. This isnt fun. I only had today and a little bit of tomorrow to play the game and im playing the parts I didnt want to have to play. I use the word play lightly. Im working towards my reaper which I wont be able to use in a day or 2 due to class work that I need to do. In fact, im neglecting it right now to try to get where I need to be but…. i need 36 more challenges…. Contingent on me even finding them. I think im just going to go to sleep. I think this experience has made me realize that maybe im just to busy and that video games arent in my cards at the moment.
