You’re also comparing gw2, a good game with a large community, to wow…. another good game with a community that dwarfs gw2s.
This is what im going for, once I get my nevermore ill change the color scheme to shadow blue and electro blue.
i’am very curious if some of the haters here will have the balls to do that. After reading the posts regarding your videos i doubt it.

A little bit backwards. It’s more like a scientist challenging a creationist to a debate on evolution. Equally as pointless but for different reasons.
What about this idea. It is a bit complicated so stay with me. What if our Dots didn’t expire. Let me elaborare. What if when you apply a dot it stays ticking, as you apply more stacks they continue to tick. Once you hit 25 stacks it’s impossible to add more stacks and you can’t reapply the dot until all 25 have fallen off. If you go a certain amount of time without applying a certain condition then it acts as though it has 25 stacks and does not allow reapplication. For example, i am stacking bleeds on my target. I have 21 stacks of bleeding, i go into ds to apply burning but i havent applied a bleed stack in say 5 seconds. Now if i leave ds i cant apply bleed until all previous bleeds have expired. This playstyle would be spike dot dmg and long ramp up but the damage at 25 burn and bleed would be… well…. painful… you could make this not work for pvp, i’m talking about pve to be clear.

I love the dot playstyle and I am always disappointed when I play a condi necro. I’d love to stack bleeds and switch to dhuumfire but when I do I lose all of my bleed pressure. I know people hate comparisons to wow but when I played wow I loved an ability on my death knight. This ability would take the dots I have on my enemy and extend their durration. Now that ability let you keep your dots up for an entire fights duration if played right. However, i’d like to see something similar but with a bit of a cooldown. I’d like something in death shroud to extend condi duration so you can stack 6k bleed ticks, go into shroud and then stack up burning without losing all of your bleed preasure. I think some condi burst would be very welcome.
I thought the adds were boring. Yea they require different types of damage or control and offer a break bar but I would have liked to see them having something that needed interrupting at the same time. Or what if there were more than the 3 adds. Like say they added two more add colors and every week you never know which combination you’ll face. Each add could bring a unique mechanic to deal with so every week the way you handle fight mechanics changes. That would be more interesting than direct dmg, condis, boon strip, now break the break bar.
Edit: I don’t want to be all negative though, I loved the stacking mechanic and the control aspect.
I believe the point of the adds is to gradually teach you the mechanics of the upcoming fight, so you can learn to handle all of the boss mechanics before having to deal with all of them at once.
I personally think this concept is beautiful, and I hope it continues in raid content.

Gee wish we had some sort of tool to quickly measure those sorts of numbers. Oh well, don’t think something like that exists.
As long as they leave reaper alone I’m happy. Reaper seems to be at the level of the good classes pre elite specs.

Since when does ANet balance things by making them more powerful? I thought their philosophy was the complete opposite of power creep?

Scrapper is OP with perma stab/stuns/might
Revenant has way too much mobility, too much sustain, and entirely too much DPS.
Reaper death’s charge is overpowered and I play a necro. The exploding chill trait combined with chill of death does way too much damage. It’s a joke.Stop buffing stuff and start nerfing stuff. This has nothing to do with ‘L2P’ and i know bad players abusing the current mechanics will say so, so just thought I’d get that out there.
This person is uncomfortable with their own skill level and thus needs to show everyone that they are so good that nerfs are needed when most people are happy about the changes. It’s understandable and I feel for them but I thought everyone should know before something drastic is done. Thanks everyone, have a good day!

Wells are almost always essential to my Necro builds but it doesn’t mean I think Vampiric Wells should be baseline. As fun as that would be.
Can you be an effective necro without wells? Yes you can. The only trait you should need to have to effectively use reaper is knight shroud. If you don’t have vp while in melee range you’re boned…

Odd people saying there’s been a nerf yet I’ve hit Gravedigger for 14k and isn’t zerker nor full 25 might stacked.. i think i was around 15 at the time.
I didnt say I thought they nerfed it, I said I think something buggy is up because people are experiencing different numbers with the same gear. Its beta thats to be expected.

Yea, its beta, im sure theres something going on that isnt intended (which is ok being beta and all). And to the person who said deaths charge is better HELLLLLL YEAAAAAA it is. Love it!
Probably just a figment of my imagination…. other than my mind playing tricks on me Im loving it. And the new reaper icon is spot on. The abilities feel better (im not charging off of cliffs) etc.

Im doing my testing on a pvp dummy. Before this weekend I was hitting for 12-14k crits on the pvp indestructible dummy and now my crits are for 7k and my non crits are 3.5k. Using zerker amulet with sigil of force and accuracy. oh and strength runes

This is a dangerous direction to take, if a certain level of “survivability” is needed to clear a dungeon.
Not all professions are equal, some are just inherently far more durable. And could achieve high enough durability easier while sacrificing less in the department of offensive. The end result is just that professions who need to give up to much damage to not die in the content are going to get shunned.
So valk reapers could be meta while eles and thieves get shunned? I am SO in for this new meta.

Tank stats and heal specs just reduce the required player skill in encounters while the only thing they increase is the duration of the fight.
We didn’t want any of this. GW2 is a dynamic game unlike any other because it requires that fast twitch reactionary play. If we wanted to face tank and heal, we’d play something else.
Pushing the trinity is lazy and unoriginal—two things I don’t tend to think of when I’m talking about GW2 content. There’s no innovation here.

You’re right, it’s an evolution to gw2 combat. Making unavoidable damage will break the all dps all the time mentality and provide a more healthy environment. Not having it would be bad for the game.

Ummm I know perfectly well what it means. The meta is what the community agrees is the best way to do a particular thing. In WoW for instance the gear stats that were meta for my death knight were different than the stats that were best for my warrior. The talents we picked were also the best in some situations but not all. In gw2 the meta for kitten near EVERYONE is zerker zerker zerker ice bow stack and boss dead in 20 seconds. It’s fake pve.

Sustained dps is 20 seconds? Rofl no wonder my raiding friends didn’t want to come play this game, that’s embarassing. I wonder what burst dps is, 2 seconds? Lol
Ele sustained is averaging around 19k dps, necro zerker is around 10k, condi necro is less. This is small hitboxes without icebow. Getting up to 8k bleed ticks isn’t bad, except they aren’t sustained, the max tick you reach on a condi doesn’t necessarily mean your dps is near that number as well.

so with every necro ever saying vital persistence needs to become baseline here are my thoughts about the topic.
we have a trait that is overcentralizing. everybody picks it because its way too good and it has no alternative. its a straight upgrade without any consideration or active gameplay and works completely against build diversity.
when i hear that about a trait the last i thing i want is that it becomes baseline!
are you crazy guys? that trait is a prime candidate for getting nerfed. why would you make it baseline? that means that first of all everybody always has it increasing the overall power of every necro without doing a thing or making any decision and also you get another trait for free or even another whole trait line.only because its good doesnt mean its healthy for the game. people even want dhuumfire to be baseline… do you even want a choice at all? the new trait system is severely limitting our choices already. do you even want to choose anything?
so if u wanna leave a comment go for it. maybe we should think why we want to be in death shroud for longer. are death shroud skill too good? are weapon skills too bad? do we need to have more active defense? comment on it, why im wrong, why i have no clue about this game or why necromancer needs to be invincible. have a nice day

Elite specializations are meant to be a sidegrade that changes the way you play. This would make the reaper much more of an upgrade. If you want to stay out of melee range, then you just don’t choose reaper as one of your specializations.
Chronomancer, berserker, herald, and tempest disagree.

In regards to the pictures shown I’d love to have all of my damage numbers in a nice orderly column that I can position on the screen as I choose. Having them just pop up is quite intrusive on gameplay as you have just shown.
So is anyone else kind of bummed about the speed in the air while gliding? When using a hang glider I guarantee you are moving faster than you would run. It feels very strange to leap into the air, pop your glider, and immediately feel like you got a parachute tied to your ankles. Anyone else feel this way or just me?
Edit: or maybe there’s a speed increase in the masteries? I didn’t get that far into the line. Correct me if im wrong
Yea we actually took advantage of the traps. It was hard to find a use in big zerg fights but we found one. There were certain vulnerable sides the enemy could have flanked us at that most zerg leaders would have taken advantage of and or avoided depending on which side you’re on. We ended up setting a bunch of traps on a vulnerable side to bait the flank and when they did (and they did) we quickly turned around and dropped wells etc. It was a blood bath. They thought they had the upper hand and boom, we were collecting our bags.
I’d say the Griffin one but only if you try for the bomb to open the chest. Those kitten birds made me RAGE.
Oh trust me I wasn’t complaining I thought it was kitten awesome rofl just glad we have a lot of guards on our side too
Ok so I was in wvw with my guild the other night and we broke down the gate. The other team was stacked on the Lord which we thought was weird because they could have jumped us earlier… we learned why they didn’t move. They must have had 30 or more dragon hunters lay down every trap they had access to going up the stairs and into the lords room. Who ever DIDN’T have their game straight up crash well…. lets just say it didn’t end well. It was probably the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in this game. We ran in and like a chain reaction they all went off in a giant blue glow which covered our screens. If you could get bags from dcs then they would have had quite the collection lol

I didn’t notice a lot of difference between zerk and valk damage wise but with the extra vit it let me stay in RS longer. Even with valk though my grave diggers were hitting for 15k with the occasional 11k thrown in. In zerk gear my numbers outside of shroud were too similar to give up the extra vit. The zerker gear saw some serious diminishing returns for what you’re giving up.
I am LOVING updated gravedigger. Its a feeling of yea… youre below 50% so if you want to avoid 15k GDs over and over again while im in valk gear you should probably run now. lol
