The trait carrying Guardian sustain is either their aegis sources/numerous blocks or their new DH trait that lets them removed a condition as they block. (A trait that makes condition builds useless against them entirely which is good.) The issue is that they should sacrifice blocks for condition removal not block with ridiculous condition removal. That is their sustain issue. The second issue is that this class is the only one which can effectively decap a point. If you are going to make a class a good decap you have to share the love to other class or reduce their sustain when they spec decap. Finally, if they wont fix guardian sustain. Then they have to fix damage. I love guardian damage so this is not my go to but if sustain stays damage has to go.
My enemy Teams have averaged 2-3 guardians over 78 games and that’s just on the enemy team not my team. One match I played as guardian and we ended up solo qued with 4 of us. (We also won by a landslide)
Also the nerf to Basilisk venom hurt thief as that was one of their most useful unblock-able skills. Like Rev they need more ability to counter block.

I Suggested making official servers for these kinds of activities so trolls in 1 vs 1 severs could be prevented and other types of servers would be respected. Right now custom arenas bring hate with their fun. Un warranted banning and trolls that fill severs are not good practice for the Gw2 community. I understand playing around but some trolls take it too seriously and wont stop harassment. Even worse there is not report system for trolls . If we could report trolling as a report option then players wouldn’t troll in any custom server anymore.
True for example, You would never see thief stacking… or would you?
It would be ok if you report a player and as long as the report was effective you don’t have to play with them again.
Defending resistance defends one class. So it will not ruin WvW it will prevent warrior condition immunity.
I speak for the people. If class X is called op by lots, class x is prevelent in tpvp and used by the pros it is apparent something is wrong with the class. I won’t shut up until people stop complaining. I’m doing fine playing a DH/Thief in ranked so Idc if they get nerfed just DH when team has too many DH. But I wan’t this game to be good not a reroll DH fest in ranked. If people stop complaining about them in hotjoin and ranked I will stop complaining as well. (Notice as complaints on DH escalated my complaints did too.)

Scrapper damage isn’t high so while they are as tanky as druids they provide little aoe heal and little damage these dayz

Condition damage does more damage per hit. In otherwords while power may require dodging one skill conditions often require dodging many skills that keep coming like a stream. This is why people feel like conditions cannot be dodged. In reality they can it is just there is more damage found in condition attacks than in power attacks if they don’t get removed. For example a Condition warrior can take half your hp in 2 seconds and all of it in 4 seconds if the land a good condition burst. This is much faster than a power build that would have to actually land a focused attack a few times in sequence rather than simultaneously. For this reason condition feels stronger because the number of sources to apply it are numerous making the evasion of one application meaningless. Furthermore. Assuming infinate HP condition damage has the highest damage per second. Not only is a iny bit of power damage found in condition builds but also once the conditions are stacked they can end up doing up to 10k per second without Cool down. While a power build may only do 20k every 10-5 seconds.
Personally I don’t agree with conditions as they are right now. However, Warrior has an unfair advantage compared to all the other classes when dealing with conditions. They have the option to go full counter and be immortal to condition specs. No other class can do this because warrior is the only class with resistance. They nerfed Diamond skin for a reason and AR for a reason. I’m really not sure why they brought condition immunity back when ele and Engi where denied it.
@OP Roll DH thats step 1. Step 2 find a good DH meta build Sep 3 practice the build in hotjoin. Step 4 ranked and win because DH op. Trust me it will work. If you wan’t 1 vs 1 you can’t get good over night. You have to put in more hours than your opponent with 1 vs 1 practice and trust me some 1 vs 1 no life this game so gl. I would recommend getting good at something in real life.
Stack 5 guardians 3 bunkers/decap 2 full blown damage all DH you will never go back ever.

Again the only thing that uses resistance are warriors and right now they basically can’t die at all to conditions. And without the poison effect they out heal everything.
Just played a match 4 guardians vs 4 guardians in solo que.
Pvp right now is basically guardians and druids with one random spec that is played ineffectively for pvp. I honestly dont see a need for anything squishier.
For example Guardian can Hold point, 1 vs 1, Support, put undogable fields around kills to secure them, Res enemies with same fields, best cc, great aoe damage, and knock people off point. At this point I’m stuck playing guardian this season. They even have mobility with their TP’s

But what about the perma fury/might/swiftness/stab-ability up time? Some warriors are smart and use them to cover the resistance.
I’m just being reasonable if everyone says class x is op and class x is used by all the pros and frequently in hot join i conclude class x is op.

Actually only one class can use resistance effectively so technically the nerf would affect only one class which is already God tier. Condi warrior/resistance warrior. Furthermore, stacking resistance is easier to balance for the future they can simply add or remove more stacks from skills.
I’m sure many would ask why lotus in the dardeavil traitline. The reason is 1) More heals. 2) Cripples to land sw/p skill 3.
The build is versatile but operates defensively by landing sw/pistol skill 3 over and over again. If you like D/p set or need something different for the situation you can use D/p to escape or blind. (It has the mobility)
Dodging in the shadow of refuge gives leeching bolts.
This is intended as a point guard with evade evade evade and overloaded self healing but remember not hitting will stop your healing.
Guardians have no issue sustaining for 2 minutes as that is the limit of their block rotations. After that they are on CD. and in pvp that is plenty considering you don’t need a bunker amulet to use a rotatable block defense.
Well using the second option would let it block conditions. Just give the stance 13 stacks.

It is toxic for new players but good players do fine. The only class with an evade issue is perma evade thief. However, without perma evades, they will be useless.
Right now Resistance is a stronger version of the old AR Engineer that go nerfed.
I suggest allowing it to act like protection with a 33% in condition duration and damage removing the immunity to immobilization, slow, chill etc. Otherwise resistance stacking gives a huge advantage for mobility (Chil/cripple/slow/Immobilize), cc (Fear/taunt), Healing (Poison), and damage (Damage immunity). For one boon… This is allot. No other boon this this efficient. Aegis blocks one attack and stability (1 stack) can only block fear once. Protection only reduces damage 33%.
Alternate solution would be to make it like aegis and allowing it to stack so that players block a condition like aegis blocks direct damage causing them to remove a stack of resistance.
I have no idea why resistance is the last boon to be stolen on the priority list but it makes warrior immortal right now vs thief as we can’t poison them to reduce their healing.
You miss the point. Everything damage related was meant to be dodged. These videos show what happens IF you get hit I doubt a mesmer can show equivalent burst to 5 targets IF you get hit as dodging anything even an auto attack is up to the player. Guardians will use their trap with the Intention of hitting you knowing you will want to avoid them.

It is being ganked by surprise with this that upsets the community. I am always ready for it but even then it is annoying to have to account for because any time I let my guard down I could instantly be killed this is not the case for most other classes. If these guardians were dying as fast as they killed It would be fine but they last too long with their respective amount of damage. Not to mention my previous post about undogeable guardian fields that fan the flame.

It is a DH problem when one of them brings a LB and hammer and the trap ult and the concentration/trait utility to create dodge interrupting fields. If they guardian stack and bring one of these you can’t cap you cant dodge you cant move you can’t block. I warned the devs that having unblockable undogeable field walls would be toxic for pvp and with DH damage introduced people are starting to abuse these features to decap and kill quickly. Even worse passive stun breaks don’t save you and once you get interupted they can choose to use greatsword skill 5 or their f1 if they didn’t bring that. F1 is already unblockable and once it hits it can be used to interrupt a dodge or block.Right now Guardian has the most effective CC and point control in game and have more burst potential than any other class (aka can one shot 5 heavy armor classes if they don’t dodge simultaneously)

I’m sorry but DH is overloaded in team fights because of it’s aoe gank potential and ability to hold a point at the same time. It is fair in 1 vs 1 because noone cares about a duel that lasts more than 2 minutes where the guardian eventually runs out of defenses and dies 1 vs 1. People care about guardians lasting more than even 30 seconds in a team fight when you focus him and he doesn’t go down fast enough while pumping out extremely high damage. This is why one guardian is ok to face but stacking is rediculous especially when one guardian brings an unevadeable field like a hammer or consecration.
The the update did make this game easier for bunkers that’s for sure. Just look at my druid. I was eating and skill clicking and face-rolled the match.
This change is absolute garbage.
It’s not fun to lose 6 games in a row then just to win 1 game and lose 2 more. It’s frustrating. I knew something was wrong and after reading this post it made sense. We’re back to the mentally challenged mode that was season 1. Great. Just great.

Find players who think your around their level of skill. Play ranked with them instead of soloquing. You will win based on your abilities this way.
Well Guardian is a rock paper scissors counter to the meta thief builds. That is undeniable. However, Guardian can be counter built against 1 vs 1 with thief. However, the counter builds don’t work vs other classes or in team fights.
Let me add a tip that all the thief will hate me for. Stand in AI attack range so the thief can’t kite AI and attack. This ruins their offence against mesmer and ranger.
Omg I never though about it before we can use all for shatters 4 times in a row without stopping. It would take serious timing but it would go f5—>f1—>f2—>f3—>f4—> signet of Illusion (SoI)—>f1—>f2—>f3—>f4-f5-f1—>f2—>f3—>f4—>(SoI)—>f4-1-f1—>f2—>f3—>f4 that’s insane I feel like a player might not make it to f4 a couple times but it it is possible with rearranged keybindings. This is insane especially with blind on shatter/heal on shatter either or.
Edit just tried it. And it is possible to do this it is VERY difficult manually. But that being said 18 shatters in a row. May be more useful in PvE because I am not sure if it is possible to use the combo flawlessly in pvp. (Thats 18 instant blinds over 5 seconds not including damage)

If others recognize this is an easy spec they will also speak up. I don’t find it strong just highly situational. But other players might wan’t it toned down I have yet to hear anyone else voice complaints on this issue however. I guess over the course of season 4 we shall see. I have however noticed an influx of necro guardian and druid in unranked pvp. However, this is just an observation.
If the game was balanced around 1 vs 1 and 5 vs 5 together then skillful pvp would be at its peak balance around only one of the two reduces skill based pvp.
It depends. It is countered by very specific specs. If you bring a condition warrior the cc will end a druid. Vault spam thief can defeat a Druid. The meta’s counter each other and are thus balanced right now. However, the level of elite spec meta builds is far superior to druid so in comparison to all other ranger specs or core specs no druid is not balanced.
The game has reached a point where if I can’t win with the same build, I can hop on a different character/build and win.
If your guna tell him to get good at least tell him how to deal with it. Easiest way. Dodge into his traps twice or block them. Remember the CD one of which is about 20s. Be sure to have some defenses up around this time. When you see him drop low use your defense into his trap. You have now successfully dodged his trap.
To avoid his ganks a general rule is defense up as soon as you see a flash (guardian jumping at ya). It is up to you to know the enemy has a guardian and prepare for a highly likely guardian gank. Give players your own impute but don’t tell them to git good as it doesn’t guarantee your any better against a guardian insta gib gank.
So there is a rock paper scissors to warrior resistance and you want it fixed? Corrupt boon and boon steal condition builds are the only way to kill a good warrior right now. Good warriors out heal power builds and outlast conditions. We need necro’s as they are. If you wan’t to win vs one grab a D/D perma evade condi thief. Everytime they transfer conditions you will just remove them every time you dodge and they will melt trying to miss their transfers. There is your counter spec if you can’t deal with them. I’m not going to tell you to learn to play I will simply tell you their weakness. Any build that is condition and causes them to miss transfers is gg for necro.

Yes please add this feature. It is so annoying to make a good build and forget it. I’ve made hundreds of variations I wish I remembered and labled for certain situations.
Idk. The best guardian> best thief because delays at the end of evades guarantee good players free damage as long as they are patent. For example the end of Vault/ D/D cannot be dodge canceled. Thus as soon as they use the skill a good player an punch a damage spike and its as if the evade thief wasn’t evading at all.
Well sinister is kinda overloaded. I mean its power, condition, precision. Pure offensive stats. If a player uses it right it is really strong.
I’ve seen some Sinister burn/trap guardians who melt people. (Team only as 1 vs 1 you don’t last long)
Ya you list the op specs lol. For example lettuce is a Druid, Min is a perma vade vault spam thief. Both builds carry these players ask them to play a different build and they will lose. It’s like me on mesmer. I can win allot of duels as condi chrono. play a phantasm mesmer and I’m through cant win vs any meta/ 1 vs 1 build.
It is meaningful to complain but it is even more meaningful to ask for a counter spec that people can distribute to reduce guardian picks for tpvp. In the Op stead, I would ask are there any players willing to share a DH counter class/ build that shuts them down hard?

Omg we have the same life lol. Like Can’t even put one condition on my enemy without being labeled a condition user on my mesmer haha. I complained about mesmer condition long before though knowing we were guna get hated on. I asked them to seperate condition elements from power builds but they didn’t listen so power mesmer deals allot of condition damage. One torch for example can stack 5 stacks of burning while shatters give confusion. iduelists or (lol great sword illusions) can stack bleeding up to 20 stacks if ignored. And, well., scepter and staff is pure condition even if you try going power with it. The least used weapons right now are pure power based such as Sword/focus.

Really though. Between perma retaliation and power negation thief can’t win vs guardian at all. It is purely rock paper scissors.
It is druid sustain that lets them do that.
This is a Summery of what I have observed in-game.
I swear I mostly say what allot of players are dealing with as I feel well set in this meta. Allot of players hate DH damage. Allot of players hate druid sustain. Allot of players hate facing scrapper just evading and stealthing. Allot of players hate these perma evade vault thief. Allot of players hate Condi chrono. Allot of players hate condi warrior. The only people that yell on forums supporting the specs are the people who don’t want their classes nerfed because if they don’t play these specs they don’t support them. Rev. really isn’t bad right now but some players even hate their high damage. Ask anyone in game and they will have these on their list of class/builds they hate fighting.
