Face it the issue we have is that this is the best feeling game out right now. The only reason people want to quit is because the the devs don’t listen to the players. This game still has the opportunity to become a standard game as big as wow if they will humble themselves and try to improve rather than being stubborn. There is either allot of potential for this game in the future or some other developer who catches wind of equalized pvp, customizable limited skill-bars, and action combat will be successful instead.
Was it equalized though or gear based? Were levels equalized? Was combat as clean as Gw2? These are the qualities that keep me in the game and once copied will cause me to leave to the better version.
Actually, the reason elite specs are considered overpowered is because they take the blame for a larger domain. The other specs skills are not tied to traitlines but elite spec comes with skills tied to its trait-line. Think about it from a chronomancer perspective. If I didn’t need my elite spec to use time warp wells and a shield I would much rather use dueling for extra damage. The traitline that is strongest alone would be inspiration. Chronomancer is only strong bescuase of the skills that come with the elite spec. If the skills were not connected noone would need to use chronomancer unless they simply felt like it for fun. In fact, dueling and chronomancer would be somewhat equal options.

Gosh these I quit posts are numerous lately. Lets see, we have mesmer op op DH frequent revs. and Season 1 ranked sounds like nothings changed since season 1 back to square one.
That would be great.
You can’t buff mesmer base damage without making the already condition damage builds stronger. It would be best just to tweek the damage multiplier ratios to be inline with the meta damage wise for shatter and the weapon sets. As far as I have seen, sustain is fine and in a good spot for team play. Now mesmer needs its damage to be on par for non condition builds.
Sustain could be reduced for all classes but at its current skill-less state it is at least more balanced than any mmorpg I have played.
It would also be nice to have a class banning option. Ban rates would tell anet which class is op directly.
(This is probably more effective a fix than premade builds.)
I guess we shall see the current meta in the championships/ based on winning qualifiers. Be sure to record the builds/classes that make it as counter specs to the meta will also prove strong in certain situations. Until then noone can say for sure. But once we know the championship winning classes/the most played classes it will be easier to draw a conclusion.
It does need this back. Right now I sit behind illusions and absorb every projectile from any ranged class. It feels kinda cheep that my illusions actually have the bouncing attacks and not thief.
Rather than ask this you should keep score on which classes were played the most. For example, thief didn’t cut it exactly in previous season.
Similarly one should ask if allot of ele’s were played by the “pros.” I haven’t watched it but I can say that an ele was probably present as opposed to thief which probably wasn’t.

Loved old trait system. The extra 4 points are partly responsible with power creep.
I remember back when you could be 30-30-10-0-0 it was great perfect trait customization.
Bringing back codex arena from guildwars 1 would be nice. It gave players an option to leave the unbalanced meta and play a fair game once in a while.
Me a mesmer main. I’m also happy with thief. Bur right now I love my mesmer.
I’m sure warrior mains could say the same.
Variety will change yes but dont confuse variety with viability there will only be one viable build per class and regardless there will be one best class it is inevitable. The rest will be situational or subpar.
I really really wish venom traits were in deadly arts. They just seem like a deadly arts skill.
But lets be real in this current meta shadow arts is useless so the only good trait (leeching venoms) is probably the only reason people still use it. If they removed leeching venom they would have to rework the entire trait-line to make it usable again. Everything the traitline offers is countered by every revenant that brings legendary dragon stance and all the other reveals around.

Yessss. that’s the best weapon set I have ever heard. Please add torch/torch next expansion.
So unconventional
Even better start allowing 1 handed weapons to be used with two handed weapons. like Greatsword/sword or something. Let get even more extreme. Greatsword/ Greatsword. (Everyone would want two legendary great-swords in their hands.)

It was better before they made stealth reveal. Trust me you could once before launch a condition assault without ever revealing yourself.
Honestly, I’m back because they have done a great job with HoT pve and I see pvp balance changes that players dont want but with the right intention in mind.
I will be 100% sold to this game for more years if they add more skills and continue the content updates.
I think the yes option would work great if you want to keep playing and if anyone doesn’t just leave.

If they are smart and bring decap DH you can’t even hold a point.
I’ve been asking for the in-game polls for a while now.
That is a seperate issue Guardians have many sills that have after effects preventing dodging for a duration. There is one on the greatsword there is judgment (f1) and then their is their LB which puts you in a chain cage. Then there is maw and their hammer. One or two of these isn’t a problem but when there are multiple guardians one cc means nonstop cc that you cannot stop or dodge out of. They also have a utility that functions in a similar way. If they don’t wan’t you to move they should just immobilize rather than put players in this mess. It creates a good reason to DH stack.
Well if you think that I guess they did survive better than druid at least.
What? Tempest is suppot? They have a bunch of aoe damage dealing overloads. Other then that their core role hasn’t changed much when transferring into elite spec.
Look at druid it got pure aoe heals from its celestial forum and aoe heals from traits now that is support I can’t understand people who think ele is support when other classes are better at supporting.
If they wan’t to add the holy trinity again they should let us vote because it will change the game drastically.
Give us the option to stop making it pop up automatically
dodging the traps isn’t very effective its better just to punch a defensive skill so you don’t get dazed on accident. They arn’t impending doom right now. Besides mesmer can outheal guardian traps with one heal skill and some shatters now that’s a problem not the traps.
Doesn’t matter to me if they add it back it had no damage and menders does just fine with some toughness runes/traits/skills stat wise.
Fix inspiration sustain. It is the main thing keeping condi chronomancer alive. It is bad to pair conditions with sustain builds they should have a time limit where they blow all CD and take some hits. Their CD are realistically always up right now. This isn’t the problem mainly as there are holes in their defenses but being able to heal ontop of negate damage is like the nerfed evade regen ranger was on release.
Power mesmer is underpowered right now. Only with condition mesmer can I take down good warrior, revenants, druids, etc. The strong classes ya know. But condi stands above them all. However, power cant take any of them. It is very weak right now no pressure and easy to dodge burst.
No it’s true I can take down most of my enemies in 1 vs 1 but it takes at least 1-2 minutes to do so thanks to their sustain. Mesmer damage really is at an all time low with all the healing and it doesn’t help that our burst combos are predictable. That being said mesmer needs fixing in sustain. I say buff damage Nerf their sustain. They could use a 33% increase in physical damage. (Condition damage is fine don’t change it).
For all those looking for support builds GW2 was founded on the principle of no holy trinity. (No healing class) Support builds were meant to buff damage of ally not heal them originally. They could mitigate an allies damage taken but not heal them. This game has deviated so far from what they started with its almost a crime lol.
Guild Wars 2 would not devolve into a dedicated holy trinity simply because everyone is self sufficient. Everyone has a self heal and everyone can save themselves.
However, with single target support, it would introduce a whole different team fights. Instead of positioning closer to support more allies, positioning away can become just as viable.
You miss intemperate. I was addressing support healing not self healing. Support class were to share boons and damage buffs like venom share thief. They were not to heal allies. The sustain nerf is something unrelated to my comment in this thread. I only call for that because of classes self heal/damage power creep.
And healing like core guard, ele, infused bomb engi…
But this is not support dedication. I’t won’t be nice to have a Gw1 monk running around in gw2 with a whole skill bar and weapon set dedicated to pure healing. Its fine to add some skills but not as a speced role.
lol what about condi perma evade? Thief is fine vs guardian mainly although any other non evade thief spec is non viable right now.
The idea of a guardian trapper didn’t sit well with me either actually. Thief has a bow and traps and ranger has a bow with traps. DH is the most unoriginal elite spec in the game honestly. Another bowman with traps. They really could have done a better job than making DH a better trapper than the other two.
@OP There are people listening to us but they can only change amulets, runes, and sigils.
Ok this is a problem as thief realistically is rock paper scissors countered by guardian. They hit you in-between dodges and during stealth making your hp a ticking time bomb. You have a short amount of time to kill a guardian and often he can last by just stacking aegis and blocking.
This doesn’t apply to the best thieves who know how to use basilisk venom but players that use the highest threshold of thief potential are rare.
It depends on the class right now. Every class have crazy burst potential but only a handful of classes can deal with the burst.

The HoT devs didn’t understand the difference between powerful looking skills aesthetically and powerful skills numerically.
Since when has guardian not had a weakness to extreme condition builds?
Ouch he really hates it. But yes if you want that thing to pop up it should just boot us all to spectate or something its kinda annoying. But this is really a small issue. I would rather address the landscapes on the new map that all my leaps are failing on. (Mesmer pet peeve) Also how certain bumps of land obstruct projectiles. Furthermore improve the tracking of rev. skill 5. (A quality of rev. life issue).
It gets old when you have to do the same stuff on multiple classes though.

Lol dodges are so useless they are used for mobility now except for maybe that time you face an eviscerate warrior.
I can agree with that. There are some pretty ridiculous builds running around on certain classes and mesmer will forever stand on top at this rate.
I said I intended to make a terrible video to show even a bad druid could do ok. Gosh you haters and flamer trolls just love to talk without reason. Your not argueing anything besides calling me names if you want to prove to the devs that druid isn’t stupid easy get your evidence. Post a video of how hard you have to practice to master a druid or something.
Your only making your account look bad when you flame people. (I’m trying to help you out) I am open to some evidence indicating my point isn’t valid. I may challenge it verbally just to be sure it is valid but I will count it against myself internally when measuring my own bias.
If you look at all the nerfs I have asked for and put them together it will equate to a reduction in this ridiculous sustain and damage power creep.

I doubt their fine people have been complaining about them since release.
Balance is getting somewhere. But there are still issues with the core game, which is pretty much impossible to fix unless there is an overhaul.
Here is a short list of a few of the issues:
-Matchmaking is questionable
-League system is grind based instead of being skill based
-Rewards are abysmal compared to pve, and are not skill based
-No objective quantification of skill. Personal skill is measured by subjective bias, esports status, and how you convince others you are good. Players have difficulty getting into the esports scene because of this.
-Lackluster tutorial into pve
-Skills are too multi-faceted. They do too many things when they should just be kept to a single effect.
-Too much AoE
-Too many forgiving builds and passive traits
-Lack of diversity in builds because of elite specializations.
-Lack of diverse game modes
-Few maps
-Spectator mode still buggy
-No replays
-Personal score does not indicate your performance. Leads to toxicity
-Poor statisistics. Does not indicate your contributions to your team very much.
-No solo/team que split
-Few tournaments
-No leaderboards
-Pvp music is repetitive
-Visual effects are disorienting in large teamfights
-Powercreep
-Low pvp population
-No surrender/resign function like in gw1
-No build templates
Edit: No dueling in pve/pvp (Add more)
nerf sustain then we can look at these traits
