Fractal of the mists is unstable for quite a large group of players. Most obnoxiously it seems to come off an on. I was fine up until fractal level 9 where for a week I couldnt get through a single fractal without a DC. Recently i’ve been better, but some of my guildies have now “caught the dc” as we put it, and they’re having a hell of a time staying inside FoTM.

Currently seeing as Anet hasnt mentioned anything about fixing this instability, and doesnt seem to be making any progress towards letting us back in when we DC there is exactly Jack all that you can do.

ele can do 23k within a few seconds though. and yea it would have to be fiery sword then burning speed. I played that burst spec for a week or so for fun but if the target dodges or moves around then the ele has to run away and wait for cds.

Assuming you actually burst them. If they can avoid the damage through
1. invulnerability
2. dodge rolling
3. stability
4. any kind of block
5. super quick condition removal (no burn, no 2x damage firegrab)

then you’re hyper-boned. Practically no utility, and only fire and water attunements up.

It’s basically a riskier version of the thief backstab build. You can see it coming, can counter it in about 5 more ways, it takes about twice as many skill presses and about 4 times as much timing/skill to pull off, oh and if they kitten it up or you stop it then they cant just stealth away and try again. <.<

OH
Oh

Ive got a few more.
Helping Kitah defend Dinfang from the naitahlen organized invasion led by naitahlen admiral, Appollonia.

Kitah could create tons of clones of the characters (like she does in the lore) turning each player into their own strikeforce.

Helping Teinai defeat mang (who Ive always suspected was rodgort <.<)
Player would need to enrage mang, and then lure him over the ice lake, hold him there as teinai completes the spell to shatter the ice and drown him.

Helping Zojun defeat the wizard magadore. Players would be tasked with taming animals to serve in the animal army that storms magadores lair. And then obviously, fighting said wizard.

I kind of want to see SoR in T1 just because of how much of a kittenfit JQ and SBI would throw. Portalbombing all day ereday.

I came from JQ to SOR a while ago. They were a cryfest then about everything. It is called JQQ for a reason.

I suppose so. It was just so funny to me to see them actually complaining about portalbombing being an illegitimate tactic in T1. Then back here in T2 it’s all SoR seems to do when im on.

Oh well, keep portalbombing bro’s. We will keep knocking down everyone who tries to come through it and nuke you :O

Yes. A little bit.

The problem is GW2 was billed as skill based, no vertical progression, easy stat cap, and “everything is endgame”

This entices a lot of people, because they were looking for something different in an MMO.

However with one of the recent updates, Anet took a massive dump all over the promises they’ve made, and having not fixed any of the serious issues players are having, within a month of them being made, has started to drain any goodwill Anet has.

The game was, and possibly still is fun, but it’s not what it used to be, and quite a few of us are very disappointed in the route Anet has decided to take.

Pre-nerf, cooking was the easiest and cheapest crafting by far.

It wasn’t the cheapest – the issue with cooking was that the trading post didn’t work, and unlike the other crafting professions you aren’t dependent on acquiring a bunch of fine crafting materials to advance. So while every other profession was held back by the inability to trade, cooking was the go-to since all the ingredients were actually available.

This became a non-issue once the trading post was opened, but was ‘fixed’ anyway.

You can do cooking right now, in under a gold.
Before, half the ingredients that you would need were karma rather than money. Meaning that cooking to 400 before the nerf, took well under a gold.

As far as I know. No other craft costs under a gold, buying a majority of the ingredients.

The OP sounds like a “new” player making a post because he had no idea what to do in an exploration run, got left behind, and died. Even without skipping, there’s no excuse for dying that many times. You aren’t supposed to die in (most) dungeons. Can’t remember the last time I wiped.

NOTE: Bosses did not give trophies up until a few weeks ago. Only completing the dungeon did. Don’t know how killing a boss “back in the day” would help you get a weapon/armor set. Also probably worth noting that it’s near impossible to complete a run without your bag overflowing with items, assuming you know enough to use omnomberry bars, even when skipping parts.

Actually at the very start of the game, boss chests did drop the dungeon tokens. It was the only way to get them. Skipping kholer meant losing out on dungeon tokens.

If you are eating out in this restaurant, which of these people do you want to have sitting at the table beside you?

Im snipping your quote because I envision some walls of text incoming and there’s a limit to how large forum posts can be.

For starters, yes you did use logical fallacies. Lets start shall we?

The main one you are using is called False Dichotomy. Basically it means you’re stripping down an argument to two specific sides. In your post you regularly make references to a single other MMO, claiming that those people who have issue with this game must “be used to how they were treated elsewhere” or “Have been taught differently by that other game company”.

The concern is that there are plenty of other MMO’s who have examples of doing something far better than Anet does. It’s not simply “This game isnt like WoW I hate it” it’s “Anet is doing silly things, and I will point out examples of other MMO’s getting it done right so maybe Anet will follow suit”

Specifically stating that arguments against Anet are coming only from players from WoW, and not for any other reason (Such as the fact that some of Anets solutions are objectively terrible) is a logical fallacy.

Secondly, Non-Sequitur
You assume because I said you were being a scyophant that you must be incorrect, or that my opinion must be correct. This is untrue. Im pointing out that You seem ruthlessly devoted to defending Anet from criticism, specifically by insulting those who criticize it, rather than defend Anets actions.

For example, you could have taken common grievances:
RNG
Disconnections/ inability to reconnect
The flub up with the karka boxes not getting sent to people who actually dc’d, but getting mailed to those who willingly avoided, or already attended the event
and so on.

Then argue against those points specifically. If you make a solid case for why RNG is a good or adequate system, you would be stating your opinion and making a solid argument. Instead you have elected to ignore common gripes, to tunnel-vision that of small bugs with the game, then compare it to a singular MMO, which you then dismiss as essentially fanboyism.

Your claim that “Opinions arent truths” Is correct. However, could you with a straight face say that not being able to get back into fractals if you DC is an opinionated issue? I think most would agree that not being able to get back in is objectively bad. So we have an issue. The question then becomes, does Anet deserve any sympathy regarding this issue? Here is where the opinion comes in, but to me the answer is no. Despite GW2 being a new game, re-connecting after a disconnect has been an industry standard for years. It’s something they worked out in GW1, and even launch of GW2. Rushing out content and ignoring a blatant flaw like this was a terrible move, and they deserve no sympathy.

Moving on
“Do you believe screaming Bloody murder will strengthen your case”
Not really. But I dont need it to.
Take your example. The steak is too rare. This is bad. (It’s considered objectively bad in this case because I am the sole consumer of the steak, and my subjective tastes regarding it are all that currently matters)

So I tell the chef to cook it a little more.
The chef then ignores me for 3 months.
So I decide to post a bulletin somewhere near the restaurant saying that if your steak comes back not to your liking the chef will ignore you forever. My bad review may prompt the chef to actually get off his kitten and cook my steak, and thus everyone wins. I get a cooked steak, other patrons also receive better service, and the business thrives again.

You’re quite literally asking us not to complain. Despite complaints being the only way to get problems noticed and fixed. (having sent in countless tickets about bugs that were effecting me, fixes were long in coming, or still have not come. Several of the issues would have been quite literally 15 minute fixes.Do you know when it did get fixed? When we made a forum post about it, and got 20+ responses. It was fixed by the next patch.)

So no, screaming bloody murder doesnt strengthen a position. But no one is screaming bloody murder. We’re stating our cases, asking for fixes, and when they are not coming, we’re pointing them out for everyone to see, on the chance that Anet realizes that it’s worth fixing it rather than ignoring it.

I’ve worked as a GM/Dev on an MMO before. And I can say will all certainty that the fastest way to get something fixed is to make it an inconvenience for it to not be fixed. And the easiest way to do that is to get as many people to see it in a public location (like the forums) and have them agree loudly that it needs to be fixed. Maybe you can think it a bad practice, but it works, and it works much faster than alternatives.

Armored scale botting?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Zenyatoo.4059

Zenyatoo.4059

I can think of a few reasons that arent bots

1. resetting has become popular in fractals – Basically groups will go back to the lab if they dislike the first or even second fractal they get. Aquatic is one of the most liked fractals, and the krait drop lots of armored and normal scales.

2. Players have moved on – Part of the t6 spike was that they were used in ascended gear. However with the increased prices people willing to pay that price are less and less common. Also players who wanted agony resistance (half the reason to create the backpacks in the first place) have probably obtained their rings (despite the horrible rng) and now no longer need the backpack in the short term, and are fine to wait until they have 1800 fractal tokens

3. This one is much more minimal, but if certain WvW matches are very close between the green and blue teams, you can see near constant take-overs of the hylek camp in EBG, or the quaggans in the borderlands, part of these takeovers including killing lots of krait. As the WvW matches have begun to be more balanced, more teams are having tug of war battles over these neutral camps, thus bringing more armored scales into the market.

But yeah, it’s probably bots of some kind, I wouldnt be surprised if someone has created a bot designed to farm the aquatic fractal, its one of the easiest, and safest places to farm the scales.

I have never
ever
ever
understood peoples problem with korga.

He’s the easiest boss in that path.
I could solo korga with relative ease, indeed, my team wiped 3 times before giving up, and I had already been inside the room for 20 or so minutes without dying once. Had they not lured him away from me and reset him I would have eventually killed him.

1. Keep swiftness up as much as possible
2. Put a bunch of stunbreaks on your bar
3. run in a circle and auto-attack him to death

The monkeys cant catch you if you are swift. If by some miracle they do, you’ve got up to 3 ways to deal with it. And the boss is slowly losing hp from your auto.

The gorrila is basically a fight designed around kiting, and being aware that monsters can cc you. I suppose other classes never had these problems with pve, but I was already running a build specifically designed to poop all over fights like this, simply because it’s practically a necessity for an ele.

Its impossible for him to have covered 2000+ range with burning speed alone.
It’s also impossible for him to have knocked you down without earthquake or updraft.

Moreover, the current ele burst build relies heavily on switching to fire while on the target. he would have had to be in fire, go to earth (or air) to KD you, then back to fire almost immediately to have burst you down.

So either
1. You’re making stuff up regarding the time between him damaging you and your death
2. He’s hacking
or
3. You’re mistaking what he did.

If he’s following the most likely build it’s probably
1. start in air
2. ride the lightning
3. switch to earth and earthquake with lightning flash
4. switch to fire, ring of fire, arcane wave and fire grab
5. target is now dead
(assuming the comment about the 2000 range is accurate. You can easily start in earth if you’re close enough)

The build is glass cannon ele, with runes of the scholar (I think) that give extra % damage if you are over an hp threshold. He’s also probably got vital striking (% damage if he’s over 90% hp) and extra damage to stunned/knockdowned foes, as well as foes under 25%hp, and most likely extra damage to burning foes too.

suggested counters:
First encounter: Youll need a reaction time for this, shake off the KD and roll away immediately. Proceed to then lol@ele as you 3 shot him while he cant do anything
Second encounter or higher: If you see him, prep your stability skill ahead of time, proceed to dodge roll away immediately. He cant stealth, you should always be vaguely aware that he’s coming at you, and his damage relies entirely on you being knocked down, and him being over like 90% hp, neither of which will occur if you’re ready for him. It’s basically a worse version of the thief backstab build.

Zenyatoo.4059

What I think is happening here is that at the Guild Wars 2 launch, many players were expecting the level of polish and routine they had grown accustomed to in that other game (the one with orcs and humans).

Actually it’s more like this:

Anet had 7 years of experience with GW1
Gw2 had been in development for something like the last 3 years of that
Features that existed at launch in GW2 are then ignored (Re-turning to a dungeon once you have been dc’d)
Features that existed in gw1, and that Anet specifically said they liked, and were quote: “Going to learn from” are used once and then forgotten about (PvP/PvE skill split)
Anet makes several blunders for things that they have already figured out how to avoid 5+ years ago. it’s tragic, and we’re going to call them out on it.

I dont think a majority of people care overly much about bugs and glitches with Dynamic events and even personal stories. Tyria is large, and bugs on launch are 100% expected and while perhaps not “accepted” plenty of people can justify or rationalize it.
Obnoxious? yes. But expected? Also yes.
The issue is when these problems take a much longer time to fix than is reasonable. For example the bugged arah events mean no player on the server can access the literal end dungeon, and cannot complete their story quest. This event is left bugged sometimes for weeks on end and has existed for well over 3 months now. While a fix to it might be harder to implement, simply resetting the map would have fixed the problem 9 times out of 10 (and I find it hard to believe that you cannot reset one map and only that map so as not to disturb gameplay elsewhere)

But people do certainly care about other bugs, like the ones involving the implementation of fractals. It’s inconceivable to think that Anet wasnt aware that you couldnt get back in, which means they deliberately pissed on 7-8 years of experience with MMO’s (including something that had become a standard inside their own bloody games!) just to rush out content that people can now currently not actually even enjoy because of an unforeseen issue with fractals disconnecting people.

As for balancing the classes, there have been plenty of skill changes focused entirely around either PvE or PvP, which ruins the skill for the other side of the equation. Take the elementalist whirlpool nerf. It was considered too strong because it could zone you away from a location on a PvP map, the damage was too much to ignore, and fighting in it was impossible without stability, so while the ele was defenseless, he could still make sure you couldnt engage him at that location. The nerf then came to its damage. But now in every situation where the zoning isnt important (read: every other situation in pvp and pve) whirlpool is now much worse off, especially in pve, in which the now lowered damage does often not justify the defenselessness (go whirlpool some risen in orr, they will not give a single crap about the damage, and will proceed to stick you with the pointy end of their spears) The biggest concern is that Anet is FULLY capable of splitting skills. They did it for the guardians, but now they wont touch it again, and each new patch brings skill changes that make very little sense to be applied to all scenario’s.

I think the worst thing about all of this is you. Yes you. Well, maybe not you specifically, but this whole “anti-whiner” movement. when people have criticisms they back up their criticisms or we tell them to gtfo. you can say “man this game sucks” but I will guarantee you that people will ask you what you didnt like and why. Most people who criticize the game bring up specific points about why, and what could have easily been done to assuage most concerns. On the other hand, the “anti-whiner” movement uses logical fallacies by the bucket-full and shuts down any criticism of their position with stereotyping (Anyone who doesnt like this game must just be a spoonfed WoW player! Or Young people these days have no patience!) and so on. It makes me sick. Criticism is important to any business, it lets you know how you are doing and what your fanbase wants to see. Sycophancy on the other hand helps no one.

Sorry if this seems harsh, but someone had to say it.

Summon the earth elemental, when you go to use churning activate arcane shield.

Churning earth is a strong attack, but you cant defend yourself during it, unless you use arcane shield. Using arcane shields lets you finish the churning relatively unmolested, then when you actually start using your other skills you can be dodging around enough to mitigate damage.

Might want to skip the sarcasm and write a serious post. It’s not readable.

If you have had this happen to you then you can kind of glean what it is.

Sometimes when using a skill your character will be frozen still. You will be unable to move in any direction, despite having no immobilizes on you. You cannot walk, run, dodge roll, or anything. The only solution is to use a skill that physically moves your character (a blink, teleport, leap, dash, ETC) The issue is that if this occurs in combat, it can be hard to immediately identify, and some classes dont actually always have those skills on their bar 24/7, leading them to an early grave.

Transmuting names

in Suggestions

Posted by: Zenyatoo.4059

Zenyatoo.4059

I disagree, the name kind of stands for the Skin.

What you suggest would allow people to wear “destroyer” items with the look of a “corrupted” one.

additional to that, it will confuse people that want the same skin because they find it cool: you get asked what weapon that is, you link it, they go to the tp and buy the “limitless furnance” and end up having a different skin, does more bad than good imo

While it would allow people to wear “Destroyer corrupted” items. I dont really see why that’s an actual concern. And if it’s really THAT big of a concern, just make only named exotics able to be transmuted.

As for the second point, yeah, but you’d need to be being intentionally malicious. Anet could also add a note onto items transmuted that way that state “This items name has been transmuted” so that when you link it people know that it’s not the original name/skin combination.

Transmuting names

in Suggestions

Posted by: Zenyatoo.4059

Zenyatoo.4059

Would it be possible to add a 4rth category to weapons during transmutation? That of their names.

For example, there’s an exotic trident called “limitless furnace” which as we can all agree is a pimp name. However the skin is rather lacking.
Luckily there’s a skin dubbed “flame trident” that is perfect for it.

However, you cant transmute the name without taking the skin with it.

It would be nice to be able to transmute the name of one item onto the skin of another.

Note: If you transmute the name of one item onto the skin of another, it should soulbind the item to you such that you cannot transmute a name onto a different skin, then sell it on the tp and cause crazy confusion.

oranges enabled you to level from like, 200-300 cooking with nothing but karma, which was deemed too strong.
Pre-nerf, cooking was the easiest and cheapest crafting by far. You required exactly 1 item that couldnt be bought for 80 copper or under 100 karma, and that was like, 13 raspberries, which had set bushes in fireheart rise that were always there.

What are you trying to do with the oranges? Is there a specific food you want, or are you simply trying to level your cooking? If it’s the former, what is it? perhaps there are alternatives. If it’s the latter, then there are definitely cheaper and easier alternatives to leveling.

Stealth needs to end when you take damage.

You should NOT be able to just pop stealth and then move in any direction (with a kittening teleport no less)

It’s literally impossible to catch a thief who is capable of hitting the stealth key on his keyboard unless you have enough CC to chain immobilize him.

There should be consequences to engaging targets you cannot beat. You should not have an instant get out of combat free card. Stealth should be used to make first strikes, and skillful retreats, not “Oh kitten im losing, stealth, infiltrators arrow behind target, dodge roll twice and lol as they cant possibly catch you”

As for thief damage, honestly? Meh. I dont think i’ve been killed in a 1v1 engagement with a thief. Most of them dart in, realize I dont die in 3 seconds, lose half their hp, then just run away. Some of them dagger storm, which extends their life by an extra few seconds, but that’s about it.

After people have been complaining for two weeks about not receiving rewards for the event- Anet makes good and sends those rewards and people QQ?

I joked this would happen- I wasn’t serious
Get a grip, you are getting your reward, say thank you!
They didn’t have to do this at all

I couldn’t agree more, this thread is ffing hilarious, this just proves that no matter what..people are Never gonna be happy..un Kitten believable.

The problem people have is not that players who dc’d are getting chests. Not a single person thinks that is unfair.

What players think is unfair:

1. People who never did the event receiving items worth 200g
2. People who already got their chests during the event receiving items worth 200g
3. People who dc’d not getting their chests

As for the really really stupid argument of “how does 1 and 2 effect you” It’s called the trade post, and putting large amounts of money into the hands of people who didnt actually deserve it isnt very good.

As for the even sillier argument of “life isnt fair” Yeah, it’s not. But this is a video game, one managed by an actual outside force, the “god” that is Anet ;p
And one assumes they would want things to be fair. Imagine if one class had a base of 2million hp and 10million damage. That wouldnt be fair would it? But would a single person use the silly argument that “life isnt fair?” No. because rational people understand that fairness is something that should exist as much as is possible in video games, especially mmo’s, seeing as there is an outside force with the ability to enforce it.

FIX the rangeR!

Actually rangers are integral to the strategy here. They’re chaining the entangle. The boss stays immobilized, and thus not deadly at all, the guardians then pull all the elementals into 1 spot and they get DPS’d down, then they switch back to the boss.

the fight is basically

Guardians:
Reflect attacks
Sanctuary for the elementals
Pull the elementals
AoE DPS
Sanctuary/wall of reflection revives

Thief:
AoE DPS
Stealth reviving

Ranger:
Entangle boss 3 times throughout fight
Barrage the elementals

Im curious however about the amount of people who will hold this up as a reason why rangers are viable, despite very few rangers I know using entangle for this boss, and most bosses in fractal not being phased by entangle at all.

And then you all came to your senses and realized that the charr have you outgunned in every way conceivable.

Able and willing to work together on a large scale? Check. Asurans are too busy squabbling about who gets credit.
Physically more dominating? Check. Asurans are puny.
Technologically superior? Check. Asurans have golems, Charr have large tanks, airships (talk to the pilot of captain skyfire’s ship. All the airships are Charr designed and built. Those shield guns? Charr. Mortar cannons? Charr. Glitterguns? Probably charr. The only asuran thing on the ship was the laser that needed to be charged for ages, and got taken out like it was made of tissue paper.), and guns, oh so many guns. Flamethrowers too, oh and I guess mortars, and those motorcycle things. If it’s a warmachine, the charr have it.
subterfuge? There’s a gorram Ash legion dedicated to it. What do asurans have in the way of subterfuge or even diplomacy besides an arcane council whose very purpose is “we think we’re so much better than you and we’re going to try and prove it”

Frankly once the flame legion is either eradicated, or finally gets a tribune with half an inkling of sense the charr will actually be unstoppable.

I dunno, Colossus has always been like this for me.
My entire guild did All 3 paths of ac daily for about a month. We used to joke that howling kings roar was the second most deadly despite his name, and that the area of effect for Colossus was “Hits whoever he kitten well pleases despite placement, and then also anyone in the area”

Who Got Chest and why?

I believe it’s meant to be everyone who had an account before the event finished gets a chest

As for not receiving one, I assume they are being mailed manually, or at least semi-manually, which means it’s taking a while.

As someone who has not yet received his chest, I dont really see a problem with having to wait. I opened the end chest 3 times during the event. I didnt expect to get one until a friend told me everyone was, and im content to wait. I’m not sure if there are any cases of it, but it would have been nice for the people who did actually dc during the event to have gotten theirs first, just so the people who had to wait were those who didnt really have a right to complain ;p

What class is best for FotM?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Zenyatoo.4059

Zenyatoo.4059

There are 5 classes I consider the “best” for fractals In order of best to worst.

1. Guardians
2. Elementalists (stipulation: Only 1 per party. 2 is excessive and not very useful. 3 is a tragedy.)
3. Warriors
4. Mesmers/Necros

Guardians and ele’s have ridiculous party support, and versatility. There is pretty much 0 situations where either classes does not have some skill that fits perfectly to the encounter. Warrior is there because if you need damage (which you do) you really cannot go wrong with a warrior. Boating insane melee, range, and underwater damage, wrapped up in the base tankiest class, leads to devastating results (Simple math, high damage on the most naturally tanky DPSer + good party support from the best healers = victory)

Necro’s and mesmers I would consider about equal use. They have specific skills that make them excellent for specific bosses. For example, the necro wells dump all over bosses that must remain stationary, and fears poop all over things like the dredge boss. Mesmers on the other hand get the best reflection skill ever (feedback), and time warp, which is basically amazing for whenever you need to do damage (Read: always)

Of the 3 classes who arent on there, 1 is on there because I dont really know what they can do in fractals, so, sorry engineers. Thieves and rangers arent on there because tbh I see them as “Warrior-lite” Their utility is lacking compared to the other 4 classes, and they wont outdamage or out-tank the average warrior. Of my 900 hours of playing I have met a single thief who truly "wow"d me with his damage, and he kept getting downed the moment a monster looked at him funny. As for rangers… well, Ive known quite a few rangers, including several dungeon masters, with whom I have done plenty of dungeons, and almost every run there would be a point where I disliked the fact that they were a ranger, whether it was their pet drawing extra aggro, their distinct lack of AoE (And no, having to use your utility slots or traits to get AoE is NOT a counterpoint to a lack of AoE, it’s an example of how you dont actually have any normally). Im a firm believer that rangers need some serious Anet love.

Now obviously skill will be a better determinant of party success. But I dont think you can really go wrong with a guardian or warrior heavy team.

“Traveler’s Orrian Dagger / Not Sure / Dripping Water (not confirmed in a vid) / Link / No Pics or Vids yet”

Didnt see this.

I dont have very good picture of it. But here are a few. The drops are “water-like” but they’re often green or grey tinged, and look sort of ghostly in nature I guess. They appear all around the dagger, not just below it.

In the bank: look at the right dagger, you can see the green/purple particle effects hanging in the air
In CoE: the droplets trail behind you as you run
In fields of ruin: more droplets trailing behind me
In fireheart rise: more droplets from the daggers

I just wanted to post this because i’ve noticed it happening a lot more recently, and it deserves a little attention.

Everyone who immediately drops what they are doing to come assist at a tower or keep when I say it’s under attack? You are all awesome.
2 months ago, having 20+ people respond within a few minutes of my cry for help would have been unthinkable, now it’s the norm, and that’s incredible.
Keep fighting the good fight, and lets keep those grubby IoJ and SoR hands off our land ;p

oh, here’s another one:

We never get to actively participate in them in either game (though you do get to see some fighting during the April fools event in gw1)

I think it would be a neat fractal that lets us experience the event that the games are actually named after.

Tips for Imbued Shaman (Volcanic Fractal)

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

What build do you run though? A far tankier build is more useful attacking the bubble, as it cares not about your damage. Whereas a far more DPS build lets you 1-2shot lava elementals sometimes.

im a ranger and i run a glass cannon build with a few points spread out into other traits.
i bring and use 3 sets of different armor to my fractal runs.

At later levels when more elementals spawn its usually better to kill off some of them first. They’ll wipe the group very fast unless youve got a tanky/healy group.

this is the reason why we keep the shaman in his bubble for as long as possible imo.

and this is one of the people in my fractal groups shaman run at lvl 43.

See, for glass cannon, you can kill the elementals long before it becomes a problem. I run a much tankier ele build, so for me by the time I actually kill each elemental, I could have dropped 5+ stacks of the bosses shield. (well, unless a guardian bunches them up oh so nicely for me)

Ranger fun in Urban Fractal (No party)

you could probably solo it with a little build changeup for the final boss.

NPC’s can be revived directly from dead with skills that normally only work on downed.
The captain does not apply agony with his greatsword. (at least, not that ive ever seen)

The NPC’s will generally speaking all be dead from the AoE of the non-greatsword captain (which is easily dodgeable from long-range, but the NPC’s are all melee)
However, once the captain whips out the greatsword, you can rez the NPC’s with a revival skill (I believe rangers have a specific spirit that does this?) and they will tank, and usually kill the captain for you at that point.

Grats OP, way to shush the people from the other topic who wanted to see your DM title.

Now if only all bosses in dungeons could be this fun. TBH, I feel this has little to do with OP’s choice of class and more to do with OP’s ability. That said, I think this is harder generally for classes that don’t have vigor.

and/or signet of stamina (gives endurance regen)

It’s just solid gameplay. Congrats on the feat!

Now if you wouldn’t mind explaining what exploits you did with the terrain to get there…

Assuming you already patched the one where you jump through the steps (which Ive never actually seen a warrior do come to it…)

There’s a wall you can climb up on the second light part. You can just straight hop up it and over into the main hallway before lupicus. It’s actually sometimes faster than the normal path if you hop up it quickly.

What is this?

Another thing. Who throws 25 gold away to list a buy order for green beans?

Some one even threw away 42 gold for a power trader item that’s covered up by the tool tip.

When you put up a buy order, it takes the entirety of your order. So if I were to put up a buy order for spark, for say, 180g. It would take 180g from my inventory.

however, if you then cancel the buy order, it refunds you completely.

Thus the person in the OP picture is just showing off his money.

Why so many Guardians/Warriors? :O

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Zenyatoo.4059

I mean. My guild group used to only have something like a 60% chance to kill lupi on the first try.

One of our team switched from ele to guardian. He put less than 30 hours into that guardian getting it to 80. And then we immediately went to arah.

We’ve never failed a lupicus since. Not even the time we had to 3 man it.

Warrior on the other hand is just
1. easy to play
2. very forgiving (heavy armor + highest base hp)
3. strong (In melee, range, and even underwater, the warrior has one of, if not the strongest DPS kits)

But I would want to play as them. Like the flame legion. I mean, we’ve had to experience spectral agony. Now let us give it to other people!
