Pedant note here, but this isnt actually true.

Stop whining, all of you.

1. There’s nothing bugged about anything you brought here.
When you entangle yourself and one of those clones hit your tower, they explode, that explosion kills you instantly. You can dodge that explosion if you time it right. Just watch other people die to the clones and you will notice that those clones explode.

2. You don’t move slow, you move with a normal realistic speed. Keep a speed buff up as long as possible or trait a combat speed boost. Also don’t stay too far on the outer side of the arena, you will have to run further to get out of the red circles. Just stay near the center so you can quickly get out of those circles.

3. The dodge mechanic is absolutely fine, it is by far the best I’ve seen in a MMO. It gives you a second invulnerability and it is only usable twice in a row, that is d*** balanced since one dodge roll makes you invulnerability for 1 second to pretty much everything. Other games such as ESO allow you to dodge 2-3 times and they don’t give you invincibility frames, that makes it extremely useless considering the combat is laggy as hell, Wildstar as example has 2 dodge rolls as well but they also don’t give you invincibility frames, making them only useful for evading super charged attacks.

4. You are not “unresponsive” for 1-2 seconds you are flattened. When someone or something pulls you, you will be thrown onto the ground for a second, that’s totally normal and has nothing to do with some stupid mechanic. Use stability to prevent getting pulled or use a stun breaker to instantly stand up and gain control again.

5. Destroy those orbs before they can even pull you, that way you wouldn’t have any problems with them considering that the fight takes a max of 3 minutes in which about 2-3 orbs spawn. It should be very easy to destroy them as soon as they pop up if they are in your view.

I just want to make note of the final comment here
Orbs spawn every 35 or so seconds in my experience. You can keep track of them pretty constantly. The first one should die by about 2:57 the next is up around 2:33

I did 5 gambits as an ele pretty easily.

Go full zerk (6/6/0/0/2), grab the damage in fire/air attunement traits + 25% hp arcane shield
Weapon is essentially option, but focus or staff is best
Ice bow, Arcane shield, signet of fire, arcane brilliance, and FGS are your util/heal/ult

gambits are Exhaust, On fire, Hamstrung, Crowd favorite and Fragility

When your turn is called, use ice bow, as soon as you’re ported into the arena, drop #4 on subject alpha. Cast arcane shield and run at him while casting FGS, then use #5 on him, as you get right in front of him use #4 on FGS and then #3 back into it. Use arcane brilliance, drop the FGS and then either swirling winds or magnetic aura (depending on if you’re focus or staff) and just finish him off if needed (he should be dead by now though)

You may also want to pick up the lava tomb(?) trait. The one that puts down lava fonts if you go downed. It’ll help you rally in a big way, and do extra DPS.

They probably patched other minor things, and there is a default number of files that have to be updated EVERY time there is an update.

as I recall, the last 12 files, which are usually the largest are in every update. I presume they’re some sort of security measure. Even a tiny change would require redownloading these 12 files.

He puts up a flame wall (usually in the lava) passing through it 1 shots you.

He also happens to knock you around while teleporting, so dont melee! But wait, there’s more, he ALSO puts up a shield that reflects ranged attacks, so dont use projectiles either!

Basically, bring a mesmer or a guardian because go kitten yourself if you’re any other class pretty much.

Ive had this happen before EoTM was a thing.

During particularly laggy periods of time (such as after a map swap) you can occasionally just see enemy positions. I’ve had it happen to me in southsun survival too upon loading in (which ill admit is also hella unfair)

it’s similar to being able to see through walls because you’re lagging and they havent rendered yet.

The seeing of the dots will eventually vanish as you start lagging less.

Are "Order" quests same for all races?

Decisions based on race + options chosen at character creations determine storyline for the first segment.

Then you get to choose which order to be helping.

Then which order to join. Even within the order, you can make different decisions. For example, one of the order missions involves sneaking someone out of lions arch. As I recall, there are 2 distinct mission choices for how to go about that.

The decision about which lesser races you can choose to help also changes the storyline.

After that your next storyline depends on how you answer the pale tree after seeing the vision of orr.

And within that storyline (and all follow up missions) you are directly asked which mission you want to do next.

So even 2 characters in the same order can have different storylines within that order. Some missions will always be the same, but you do get to choose quite a few.

Server Association

It appears to take a large amount of effort to change the status.

having changed servers on the second week, and having not actually done any WvW at all with my original server for the season, it took 4+ days of 8hour WvW action to shift myself to the new server.

Im not sure what’s included in shifting your association, you may wish to try something other than what youve been doing though (if youve been roaming, follow the zerg. If you’ve been killing a lot but not taking objectives, try that instead. Also maybe complete up the achievements if you havent already.)

The only issue with this boss is when he respawns the elementals over and over. I’ve had an 80 man zerg inside the keep, we split the elementals almost immediately, but even with 80 people doing damage, it still took quite some time before the boss died because he was resurrecting the elementals. Quite literally in the time it took us to kill one (about 2-3 seconds) he would resurrect the other. When he finally cut it out for about 5 seconds he got 100→0’d.

None of the other keep lords can make himself immortal through spamming their skills.

Now, I wouldnt mind this, but it should really be the red keep lord that’s the most difficult of the 3. The Red teams are (usually) the lowest ranked of the bracket. So they should have the most advantageous positions. Not green who are (usually) the highest ranked in the bracket.

Go to the aetherblade jump puzzle
Get to the end chest
Open it
hit f12 and go to character select
guest to another world
login to that character
open chest
hit f12 and go to character select
guest to another world

rinse repeat (You can get around 8-10 opens per reset with guesting in my experience)

The chest isnt fantastic, but it can help. Ive gotten 15 blade shards out of it once. But ive also gotten 2 blade shards out of it 20 times in a row.

AC 1-3 (People hate on P2. its still worth doing.)
CoF 1,2 (people hate on P3. This is justified)
HoTW 1 (P2 and P3 are doable, but boring and aggravating)
SE 1,3 (P2 should never be done ever)
CoE 1-3 (All 3 paths are fine.)
CM 1-3 (People hate on P2. They’re bad. it’s probably the shortest path if you’re half decent)
TA Up/Forward (Aetherblade is just awful)
Arah – Personal choice. I’d never PuG this, but P1,2 and 3 can all be done with respectable speeds with a good group.

AC gives the most money for path completions (besides arah)
CoE gives the best lodestone/core loot (charged)
CoF, CoE and HoTW give the best money per token if you’re converting them.
All the other dungeons listed are just easy enough to do, and the moneys still pretty good.

Look up what WoW added between release and the first expansion. Just google it. There is a wiki.

Compare it to GW2, than you might understand why people are upset.

One only needs to look at the GW1 expansions to see the amount of content available to players.

If I played for the first month and came back now, 2 years later. What could I now do?

Fractals is new.
Teq is updated
Triple jungle wurm
New AC paths
Edge of the mists? I guess.
Maybe hunt a few new skins if I like any of them (and if theyre even available anymore)

Compare that to just the first expansion from GW1

2 new classes
New weapon types
Hundreds of new skills, many for the original classes too
entire new continent with something like 60 zones, 13 missions, etc
Alliances for guilds
2 “elite” 12 man missions
Alliance battles, faction in general
JQ and FA, 2 entirely new types of PvP
more quests than you could shake a stick at
Tons of new armor, including 15k armor sets available to all professions

Now, the cost for these things is different. Factions cost what, $60? And GW2 is technically free forever.

But the difference in amount of content for players who quit is staggering. Simply put, if anyone quits, they’ll rarely be compelled to return, because a good chunk of the content is entirely temporary. If I have a friend who tries another MMO, likes it, and comes back to GW after 2 months and says “hey anything new?” My response is most likely going to be “No, the new stuff is gone now, and if you came back you’d just be behind everyone else.”

Now here’s the pinch. With a tied score, as far as anyone can tell, the servers overall rating determines who then would fight JQ and TC.

BG currently has the higher rating, but after 2 matchups?

So lets say SoS has the lower rating.

Which places BG back into T2

Week 9
SoS – 29
BG – 29

Of course, even reversed, this would put us at the same scores again. Which means (again, as far as anyone can tell) that the server between BG and SoS with the highest rating at the end of week 9 will take 3rd.

Which is to say, SoS has to raise its rating as high as it can. So it needs to essentially be doing better than BG is in T1/T2 to beat them and get third.

If they would replace that pointless invuln with irremovable Stability, this encounter would feel less annoying.

Absolutely this.

Anet has a serious problem with creating boss mechanics that do nothing but slow down the fight. There’s absolutely 0 reason the boss needs to become immortal all the time. And there’s no way to stop him doing it.

If you’re expecting to spam 1 and win in this dungeon like open world then you’re sorely mistaken, same goes for all dungeons, if that’s what you want to do, then yes, you can expect that kind of thing in other dungeons.

TA Aetherpath is very different from other dungeons by having bosses that attempt to keep you from stacking and facerolling the bosses (not that you can’t).

If you actually bother to learn the mechanics then yes, it can be somewhat fun, especially the first few times. And you probably won’t party wipe even once. Unfortunately, 99% of PuGs are people from open world who want to spam 1 on bosses and get loot, that doesn’t work, so if you’re trying to PuG it is pretty painful.

stacking and facerolling is actually the quickest/safest way to handle those fights though.

Hell the final boss of the path, you’re literally told to facerub him so he wont throw the gears at you.

I dont believe this is bad chronology. Part of the concern is what the original bloodstone actually did. We know it contained non-elder dragon magic. But that’s the extent of our knowledge.

Consider, the jotun must have been up and about before the 10,000 year ago elder dragon awakening. Else they could not have fought, and been in the tome of rubicon.

Secondly, its unlikely that the bloodstone prevented the usage of, or the distribution of ALL magic. The bloodstone was created by the seers, not the gods. And while we do not have an exact date on the gods appearance in tyria, it seems as if it may have been sometime AFTER the creation of the bloodstone.

Additionally, as we know from asuran technology, the elder dragons themselves bleed magic out into the world while sleeping. The bloodstone was specifically non elder dragon magic. Which still leaves 6 potent magical energy sources in the world, including one right under Arah.

AND, we can assume that the gods are capable of harnessing elder dragon magic (when splitting the bloodstone, and even creating their city in Arah, they did so over the top of Zhaitan, most likely because of the innate magical power there)

Essentially the jotun had some form of magic before the gods showed up.
It got sealed into the bloodstone by the seers (for whatever purpose)
The gods show up, and either they began to harness the bloodstones magic, or that of the dragons. This they shared with specific races, including the Jotun.
Sometime later, the gods decide, “hey screw these Jotun and Norn guys”
A lot later, abaddon decides that ALL races deserve magic, not just the ones that are favored, and goes to unseal the bloodstone. For this and the subsequent war, he is punished.
The bloodstone is sundered into 5 pieces.

Given that the norn are not mentioned (as far as I know) in the tome of rubicon, it seems that the age of giants the jotun spoke of was probably post elder dragon awakening and defeat. The seers would have been mostly wiped out, the mursaat would have already phased out of the world. The dwarves were most likely under the mountains. The forgotten probably chilling wherever it is they hung out. Leaving the Jotun as the dominant race in Tyria (the continent)

The question is whether the actions of the gods led to the Jotun downfall. And what those actions were. It seems unlikely that merely withholding magic could cause such rapid devolution, civil war or not. Especially as the Jotun should have had access to the elder dragon magic. Perhaps the gods did something a little more drastic, or perhaps the jotun did some very very stupid (think Nuclear bomb WW3 type stupid) and blasted themselves back into the stone age.

It would be hella OP.

As far as combo fields, I would like to see the condition oriented ones do more. Have a set of conditions that are basically stronger versions of already existing conditions, and make them combo field specific.

If you shoot through a poison field, instead of applying poison you apply disease, which does more damage and spreads to nearby enemies.
Instead of a blast finisher in a poison field causing area weakness, it causes area enfeeble, which makes all hits done by enemies glancing blows
A leap finisher through a dark field or a shot through a smoke field would give ineptitude rather than blind, causing enemies to miss and take damage with their attacks for a duration.

ETC.

When I play ele, I always hate to see any combo fields other than my own. Because I ca give a team 12+ stacks of might in about 3 seconds using my own fire field. But I have to wait for all the other fields to expire first. Essentially there’s no field worth using my blast finishers in besides fire, because Might stacks so much better than basically all the others in combat.

And when im using my other characters, shooting, leaping or whirling through combo fields rarely feels as satisfactory as when you chain 4 blasts into a fire field.

Aggro needs Rework

Some monsters have their own discrete aggro patterns.

For example lupicus in my experience always targets the player with the most HP during phase 2. And then the player with the most toughness during phase 3. Every time we’d do lupicus he’d shadowstep to warriors and necro’s if they were alive. When he hits phase 3 he’d suddenly change his mind and go right for the guardian instead.

This, in combination with his AOE abilities that mean the other party members cant just afk it, makes him one of the best bosses in terms of aggro. I’d love to see more bosses utilizing his aggro system.

Most of mine come from dungeons.

Pre torch nerf CoF path 3 (had to have all 5 torches lit)
Done with a PuG group who I dragged onto a guild vent. We had to stagger how we fought enemies, as all of us killed them within different time frames (one poor necro had to start his about 15 seconds before us due to how long it took him to kill them)

Pre nerfs simin (About a month after the game was released. Sometime October of that year as I recall.)
Back when she healed a rather ridiculous amount

3 Ele’s using staffs. All 3 with bezerker traits, but only one with bezerker gear.
1 mesmer with tank gear
and 1 PuG Necromancer who literally did not know that he had poison skills (the only reason we had brought him in the first place) upon rigorous questioning of his setup, he stated that his only poison skill was Corrosive poison cloud (a utility skill)

The actual fight took about 8 minutes. We were capable of preventing her from regenerating, but not capable of damaging her without timewarp. Which is to say we chunked her down over the course of 4 time warps.
Exhilarated from victory (this being our 3rd attempt, and about 10 cumulative hours spent on this boss) we promptly walked into the next group of enemies and wiped because we were playing specs that we usually didnt.

I also vaguely remember our first time trying subject alpha. I wound up kiting around in his room for about 30 minutes as my teammates would die, run back into the room, do a bit of damage, then promptly die again. I must have cheated my way out of about 80 crystals by the end of it. Thank god for elementalist stun breaks.

So i’ve been gone for about 4 months. Came back and was reading up on the Spring 2014 Tourney.

My server has apparently died in the time that I was gone, and we’re currently sitting outmanned on basically every map, which is to say, Im looking to transfer.

I’ve already read up about the transfer limits for the tourney (not getting to wvw for 2 weeks, ETC)
And how the participation is ranked based on mid transfer.

However, im a little confused on the reward structure. I’m not going to be coy about it, if im transferring anyway I might as well get the most bang for my buck and pick a server where i’ll probably get the most rewards in addition to actual fights.

The ticket rewards are listed as being given to the top 9 “World place” servers. With no real indication of what “world place” indicates. One would assume World place is the top 9 servers. But does this mean if I transfer to say, Gates of Madness, who are excelling in their bronze bracket, i’ll get nothing due to them being well below the top 9 servers?

The blog posts indicate that servers would be matched up against servers with similar win/loss records. Does this mean that a server winning in Bronze is suddenly going to face the top dog of the gold league? And if not, does this mean that a Bronze league server could take World place #1 by being undefeated in bronze league, whereas a gold league server that loses once would take second?

Sorry if these questions have been answered elsewhere, I cant seem to find a blog post of forum thread about this stuff specifically.

Did this tonight. I dont think anyone in our team got over 20 overall points. But all our yaks were at full hp. and someone even straight afk’d for the final 3 rounds because we didnt need to do anything.

Large clumps of catapults out in the field were just up and spawn camping all the monsters. Never even needed repairs.

you can get still get from the giant gifts. Its just way more rare (having opened 1000 gifts, I received more of the grenth back piece recipes than charged quartz) but it’s still technically there.

So it always is 2 tier okay. Then would be 12 after 20*2=40. Then 6 more = 18. But 15 because of the cap.

Just went and did some more jumping. Achievement works like this

1st completion – 5
19 more to hit 20 – 1 more point for 6
1 more completion – 1 more point for 7
19 more to hit 20 – 5 points to hit 12
1 more completion – 1 more point to hit 13

I’d suspect that now 19 more completions will put me to 14, and then one more single completion to hit 15. Basically on that second run through of 20 it gives +5 rather than +1.

Did this one solo actually. Stuff that people seem to miss

1. Wall fragments – the tiny bits of walls that are around some towns. Double bonus points because these are occasionally half obscured behind the cardboard walls of the room itself

2. trees – there’s a few nasty trees, including one alone on a mountain that I had to actually jump + auto to hit with my ele

3. the little things on the walkway at the center – dunno what you’d call them. There’s 8 or so that form a path from the center to the back end of the airship. I didnt realize they were destructible for longer than i’d like to admit.

That’s really weird. Im sitting on 7 points with 1/20 saying itll give me only 1 achievement score. Guess i’ll go through another 19 times and see what happens.

Diamond – Problem with this is there is no variable. Meaning that the winner could be decided by 2v1’ing 1 server into the ground. (Not a complaint, just a observation) There are a lot of complaints about 2v1s right now, this would be a prime setup for one to take place.

Gold (4-8) – Correct me if I’m wrong but that is only 5 servers…a match requires 3 servers so 2 servers would have to be left out…

Silver (9-15) – 7 servers…again does not line up with 3 servers per match.

Bronze (16-22) – 7 servers…and again does not line up with 3 servers per match.

Like I said this is only a observation of your post, I’m indifferent…

I think that’s an acceptable risk. As long as there are an odd number of matches, in this case 7, someone has to be a winner. Either by getting 3 or 4 wins. Meaning that at least some of the matches will probably not be 2v1 heavy. At least not to a ratio that would define the entire season.

Also it’s preferable to the alternative. Which is T2 servers having to face overwhelming numbers in match-ups that are (imo) rarely fun.
With a BG/JQ/SoR matchup, I can log in at literally any time of day and go find a fight. During a matchup with T2 servers there’s plenty of deadzones where they dont even have people on their own BL’s.

Gentlemen, it’s been a heck of a season. And this is the summary of it from my perspective.

The drama’s began before the season even started, with MERC jumping ship to Jade Quarry and backstabbing Blackgate which was a shock to the whole WvW community. Many MERC’s were against the move and stayed, just as many moved to Jade Quarry, and the MERC civil war still rages on to this day.

Remember Jade Quarry getting the easy draw and the amount of complaints on the forums? Some Jade Quarry posters stated that this was a fair decision and that they deserved an easy draw because there were the top seed.

The draw lead to the 2v1 against JQ in week 1. For the first time in guild wars 2 history, SoR and BG focused a common enemy. It was a milestone moment which both servers wanted to ensure that Jade Quarry would finish in 3rd, for their own benefit.

This result opened up league to be there for the taking for any tier 1 server.

In week 2, SoR were now looking like the hot favourites to challenge for the season. And they didn’t disappoint with a dominating effort against Blackgate on the opening weekend. BG waned and SoR took charge of the situation, with SoR heading towards a 17k lead only 2 days into the matchup. Blackgate then rallied and dismantled Sanctum of Rall’s 17k lead by the end of the 3rd day. The scores remained tight until halfway during the 4th day, that saw a monumentual collapse by SoR.
Halfway during this matchup, ZDs also joined Blackgate, with many people crying foul play and how this was unfair.

In week 3 many expected a strong showing by Sanctum of Rall to make up for the week before. But this was not to happen with SoR putting in an insipid performance. Infighting raged on their server and this was them giving up on the season.

Week 4 was an easy victory for BG against SoR due to events in the previous weeks.

Sad news reached tier 1 when IRON decided to leave the North American servers, and head back home to Europe. They brought many great fights, class (in game) and balance to tier 1. They will be missed.

Week 5 saw the much awaited showdown between Jade Quarry and Blackgate, the winner of this matchup was to be the champions. And it didn’t disappoint. These 2 power houses traded blows, the fighting was heavy and intense across all of the borderlands. Blackgate edged out a narrow lead of 4k, with Jade Quarry coming back to get a small lead of their own. The matchup continued like this until it came to the middle of the week, which saw the morale of Jade Quarry wane across the entire server, leading to their server conceding the loss.

With weeks 6 and 7 being formalities, Blackgate was now crowned the deserved champions of Gold League.

Best of luck to Sanctum of Rall for the future, your server has been a rock solid community that always puts comradery and fun above all else. I hope your server can rebuild and continue to be the great server that it’s always been.

To Jade Quarry, despite the draw, your server deserved to be classed as the favourites and you proved it in the match ups. You’ve got one hell of a community with a lot of very organised guilds and you put up a great fight. Good luck for next time.

Our community on Blackgate has faced enormous adversity, and has managed to stand up against all odds to achieve this. Well done to everyone on Blackgate for believing in the server, sticking up for each other, for staying up late and working for each other. But you did miss 2 other guild “drama” details: SoR guild DIE left to go to Ehmry bay, and SoR guild RISE lost a few commanders to personal life stuff. DIE left before IRON if I remember correctly. And RISE was I want to say week 2 or 3.

However, I have been hearing rumors that both DIE and the RISE commanders are apparently planning to be back on SoR early next year or something.

Anyways, despite all the drama and forum posting, I definitely had fun this season, and I got extra rewards for doing stuff I would have done anyway (minus the jump puzzles) so that’s neat too.

Dredge fractal improvments!

Did a 28 last night.
First swamp, second molten, third dredge.

Dredge took about twice what the other fractals took combined.

We spent an unreasonable amount of time trying to do the switch segments. I was apparently the only one on the team tanky enough to activate a switch and survive (despite being a zerker ele in a party with a warrior 2 rangers and a thief…)
Which meant I would activate the second switch, the party would run in. I’d race down to the door, and by the time I got there, 3 of the party would be downed and the last was dying.

Eventually we decided to skip the switches, the new extra mobs, and the hassle all together and just drop in. I was forced to effectively solo a side, but we made it.

Then we had to contest with the bombs. 2 of our party decided to spend the entire time attacking the first group of dredge (who respawn infinitely)
after multiple res-rushes, due to the inability of blocking dredge via guardian skills, we had to defend the bombs with our lives every time. The door blows up.

Instead of 90% of the dredge vanishing like before this update, now they hang around for god knows what reason. More clearing. Then the clown cart which meant even more clearing.

At this point one of our members had to go chat with his wife, who was confused about what was taking so long. Eventually we got to the boss, which we had to 3 man because the warrior had no agony res and couldnt dodge the shockwave worth a kitten , and one ranger we let stay dead because he was actually a negative impact on the fight altogether.

It’s pretty obvious that the dredge fractal is by far harder than the others.
Even Anet knows that, it’s why it’s now a 3rd fractal, which is where they put the kittenes. (A move I still consider absolutely bumblekitten stupid)

Anet’s solution to the fact that we dont like dredge fractal? Add more dredge, make the button segment more difficult, make less dredge despawn on certain parts, and make the clown car more difficult. It’s like they looked at every complaint, and did the exact opposite of what they should have done.

Commander of the Year

Im going to nominate James from CHOO.

Puts in longer hours than almost every other commander ive seen, including 8+ hours during time periods where we sit outmanned on multiple maps, which he’ll bounce between constantly to assist.
His commanding is always intense, but never (in my experience) abrasive, I dont know how that man manages to not lose his voice.
He’s also quite capable, and willing to lead randoms as long as they stick with him and if possible hop in TS, something other commanders seem to dislike.

Before I knew James, I was dimly aware that triple keeping a T1 enemy BL during their primetime was possible, but I had never been a part of it.

yes this is a con. Very few if any people like certain fractals, and pretty much no one liked seeing them last. I know theyve rebalanced difficulty. But im incredibly wary of situations where I get a bad PuG who manages to do the 2 easy fractals, only to slam into a cliffside and not be able to finish (wasting everyone’s time)

Anet saw there were fractals we didnt really like, and decided to make them show up more often, and in an order we didnt want them to appear in? Dat logic.

It was originally intended to be a part of the dungeon, there’s a “puzzle” inside that can be accessed through teleport/blink skills. In which you activate a pillar in the center and the room spins, and then you have to pick the right door or something.

it was scrapped, and obviously bits of it were stashed away. That’s really about it.

Secret Bosses: Too rare?

In my experience, the bosses are based on

1. personal story – You may occasionally encounter the mentor of the instance starter
2. Race – You may occasionally encounter the destinies edge member who shares your race
3. personal story? – You may occasionally encounter traeherne

Non “secret” bosses include the spider (both veteran and champion) the watchworks, the aetherblades, and possibly even the molten bezerker (who I encountered on a character that have never even existed during the molten factory segment)

The mentor is obviously based on what order the instance owner created. As far as I can tell the destiny edge people you face are those that mirror your race. My charr ele has fought rytlock, and my norn guardian has seen Eir/garm twice. But Ive yet to encounter any of the others. Im not sure if there’s a trigger for traeherne, but one assumes youve probably had to at the very least complete forging the pact (as he refers to you as commander)

solo’ing is almost easier than with a group (its definitely faster) with 1 exception, the warlock on the first floor is, as far as I know, always a champion. Which means he’s difficult to solo.

Every other event scales such that you will rarely if ever have to fight anything above veteran status (I think an elite might occasionally come down from the ramp during the portal event on the third floor)
All other elites are in 100% runnable territory, and most of them can even just be straight avoided.
