as long as people can just switch teams whenever they want makes this so called wvw tournament thing a farce; simple as that.
condense everyone down to the 3 orders (based on characters storyline) then if you want to play on a different side just log in with the toon that belongs to that order
condense the wvw servers merge 12 of them to make 5 “tiers” top 2 servers get to play against themselves 1v1
I’ve always been trying to push for people to re-think what a commander does in the first place (to fix a problem, start at the beginning and work from there)
The Mindset of players seeing the commander tag as something to follow is the first and foremost thing limiting the usefulness of the already available tools we have.
the person commanding would be in a safe location directing troops (and watching map for intel) to said locations (alt-left click) the boots on the ground would be following a captain’s tag/orders or something similar in rank.
until the players understand how much more effective they can operate within a chain of command, no GUI is gonna fix the base of the problem.
compress the servers, the glaring gaps in population in even 1 rank is terrible.
anet do something besides gem farming jeez
course if everyone would stand together and refuse to play the tournament for the month that would help also REVOLUTION!!!!!!

Siege distance, siege sites, terrain, walls doors, angles of vision, this that and the other stuff to make it all work together, yea, I don’t develop and can see a lot of time consuming stuff to make a map…Properly.
What would be freaking awesome is to put EotM directly over the BL maps and eternal so you could just take a long stairway to heaven or hell depending on which direction you are walking then remove the waypoints from either the EotM side or the WvW side.

the Players ruined EotM, and because the map cap is so high it’s really easy to ktrain.
does anyone remember when the map cap was supposed to be lower?
Anet designed a great map, the people that avoid fights/defending are the reason that the ktrain exists in eotm.
how about making EotM the PPT map and WvW the overflow maps
or… make a EotM victory add 20% to the World Bonuses earned for an hour or something.

so many times I’ve seen the stacks stripped and people just ignore the Unshakable mechanic and just keep using the CC skills to start Defiant.

Inflated rewards? if you hoard your badges and don’t spend them then it might seem like a lot, but if you do spend them on siege, toys and traps to help the cause then you’ll notice you can burn through them pretty fast.
and I haven’t seen greens and blues drop in price for months (to realistic levels) so that can’t be inflated, maybe im just not getting good drops heh.

Except WvW is not about you.
Its all about possibilities. Different options. Completely removing the ability to knock down a door by hand is fine. Its an acceptable solution to a problem that’s existed since release. But offering no viable alternative is not good at all. WvW doesnt need that kind of extra gold sink restriction – WvW just need to be fun to play.
To give you some perspective, just look at ESO AvA. It may be grand, but its not fun. Siege is incredibly restricting. You cant capture a keep without siege. You cant even solo the camps surrounding the keeps, its impossible. Imagine fighting 20 buffed keep lords, that’s a tiny camp in ESO. And you have to capture 3 of them. It literally force you to bring 20+ players and siege to do something, otherwise you might as well go do PvE in a dungeon. Do you really think just slapping restrictions on GW2 would make it more fun? I dont think so.
I can tell from your post that you don’t quite know Gw2 WvW, you wouldn’t want to try and solo a tower or keep the time it would take to kill the guards in between running to a camp then building the siege in between killing the guards again, breaking the gate, killing the lord and his guards, and in that amount of time the odds of no one showing up is very small.
and you can’t compare ESO to GW2 there is no comparison GW2 FTW!
so people actually believe they spent over 1 year designing this map so that players could PvD ? tsk tsk tsk that’s rationalizing at it’s worse hehe
anyways I think the whole point of this post is that People need to let everyone play the game the way they want to, and don’t try to impose your thoughts onto other people.

I would like to know if we can hash out my ideas and get an answer as to why these ideas wouldn’t work.
Some of these problems in WvW can be fixed in my opinion pretty easily
PvD: make doors like walls so megazergs can’t just melt them down
PvD: make holding objectives per tick worth more than capturing it
PvD: adjust the tick to 1 hour
PvD: nerf all player skills that can easily remove all siege defenses on/behind the wall (minus Omega)
PvD: Increase RI to 1 hour
Remove the Upgrades in camps, towers and keeps/SM make them level 2/3 like in EotM
I think it would be great to throw this stuff in and see what happens
players have evolved in WvW but the WvW mechanics have not; so these changes might add a nifty twist for a few months and commanders would have to think a little more than just zerging. (supply is a premium and success/failure affects the next step immensely)
and for us players reading this, run a few scenarios in your head and see how things would be with this setup.
DERAIL….siege is part of the game, if you don’t want to use it then don’t but if other people want to use it then more power to them!
and siege doesn’t hurt if your standing on top of it
the overlay is fine to use, it doesn’t give people an advantage because it’s US against the mobs but if you feel you can beat a world boss solo…and keep the spawn a secret, more power to ya.

maybe just have all siege tagged with their name? doesn’t add to many bits to the whole process.
the upgrades are what really tick me off, you get 300 supply someone orders doors and bam second worker, 2 minutes later a blob starts knocking on the door, Hate that!
what about enemies getting free supply and siegerazor on your home map?
I still dunno why that is in the game since it’s not their map.

I’ve been trying to get MF upto 300 since it started, and wholly cow! if you have already got 300, then move on to something else I mean come on that’s a lot of salvaging or whatever, you beat that part of the game, move on to something else.
of any ideas that want transfers still, then the whole problem of coverage while arise again and again and again.
server pride is a misnomer since people can come and go as they please, so that shouldn’t be a factor in making bigger, better WvW.
Anet did a great job on EotM BUT the players and lazy commanders turned it into what it is today (more and more people are defending tho hehhe)
EotM should only be open for people in que increase RI to 1 hour across all maps
and the regular maps need to be reworked, the maps were great at the beginning but players evolved and so should the maps (it really is to easy to cap a so called fortified objective)
an example would be yaks in the borderlands the 2 NE NW camps yaks all travel the same path to their respective gates; North Bay has a gate unused so why is it even there? the yak going to east bay should take the shortest route IMO, simple pathing tweaks would be a small step.
the one going to hills from NE camp should go the back way forcing people to escort (lotsa mobs in that path) it’s different and adds something new.
speed up those yaks or make the camps generators (upgrade?)
AND/OR
camp upgrades let’s add some walls in some of the camps
AND/OR
get rid of upgrades in towers/keeps add those awesome NPCS from Eotm that do stuff inside!
lotsa stuff could be tweaked, the scripting level seems to have gotten better in EotM
push it into the regular maps. OR
add EotM ABOVE the regular maps and have it all connected hehe
so many ideas so little time.
oh 1 last one! get rid of the stupid PvD, make the gates immune to players attacks Siege only!
it just can’t be stopped, the only thing you can do is make some moves to test to see if the enemy keeps being where you are going, and then since you know there is a spy just go “owell” and play on…just nothing can be done.
siege griefing is more fixable, just ask anet to attach a name tag (like guild siege) to the siege, it might take up more bits but surely it can be done hehe.
OH and I am in need of all siege, so if you don’t really use siege and would rather waste it to grief please send it to me Ballistas included!
if they don’t talk about how terrible the whole server transfer/wvw league matchup is then it’s not worth watching, since they would be sticking their head in the sand and avoiding the most insane “system” in the digital world.
:) please just stop with the leagues until you can come up with a way to stop the insanity.

I don’t know if this is still random for leagues as I don’t think it is, but the green server is the top server, and that’s important because they have geographical disadvantages compared to red and blue in EBG as an attempt to make things more fair.
So you may be QQing about winning.
Green corner in Eternal is the best corner to have, all towers can be covered from the keep.
red and blue have 2 towers each that are a pain in the backside to defend; and getting those towers upgraded while having SM is ridiculous. so yea Green has the best setup.
back to the OP.
green is usually the higher pop/coverage server so you can just hang out in WvW and I’m sure the places you need to get to will be flipped to green at least once during the day. OR just ask the commander to help you
as long as people are able to transfer servers no amount of tweaking is going to fix it.
if your in combat, that means you got hit, which means aegis is used up…….
if your staring at how you look then your not killing anything…
yea AoE loot makes things pretty easy, just set the option and if that still doesn’t help enough make a key bind in options >controls also and you should be ok.

never pay list price, if we could all agree to stop paying then prices drop….but that’ll never happen heh.
nah the biggest problem would be who controls the TS who would get admin rights, who would be able to make channels etc….so I doubt it will ever happen.
